Yes, I remember. This 1st part made me want to learn piano at 57 years of age, now 6 years ago, It took me a year to nearly complete this 1st part up to halfway the last page, trying to copy you as good as possible. the beautiful sensitivity of touch that Valentina has in this performance makes the opening movement seem to float so gracefully along, dreamily. Then, the 2nds movement so cheerfully wakes you back up, and says get ready for a quick (but adventurous) trip back home, and Valentina then pounces into that great, rush-home, final movement. I've never hear another pianist do *quite* the dramatic performance of this one. There are more than a few really great pianists out there, but for this particular piece, Lisitsa's performance is the most dramatic.

Dearest Valentina, I hope you are well and that you get this message. I saw you play live today in Brussels at Flagey for the Piano Days. It was incredible. You truly mastered Beethoven. You played for 1 hour and half. You ended with the complete moonlight sonata and an extra piece of Chopin(nocturne in c sharp minor). Both of those pieces are extremely special to me. We spoke briefly after your concert and I told you how amazing it was. You were very kind and gracious. I just want to say your interpretations are amazing. After the concert I stayed a while to enjoy the piano bar with a Jazz musician. I went outside and saw a beautiful church. Maybe this seems like a cliché but thanks to you I was able to enter and was able to confess to God and to the priest. I haven't done this since I was 12 years old. So my last confession was 22 years ago. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart! Sincerely yours, Johan

Muitas vezes os músicos tocam o 1º e o 2º movimento muito rápido, o que faz perder bastante a graça da música, mas Valentina sente a essência, a profundidade da obra e consegue passar isso muito bem. Não canso de ouvir. Parabéns. 😍

I've formed a habit of listening to your performance of Beethoven "Moonlight" Sonata 3rd movement before studying, or doing any tasks that require mental focus. I even bookmark it in my browser. No matter how many times I've listened to it, I always can't help but exclaim "How could she do it?". You've inspired me to enjoy classical music so much.*

    Hello Valentina.
I stumbled on this by accident after watching a young girl play #3 on guitar. I'm so glad I found your performance. Your skill, interpretation and grace is simply amazing. Absolutely captivating and wonderful to watch. My mother played all 3 movements for her major from Marywood back in 1957. Still by far my favorite from Ludwig.....never gets old! Thank you for sharing this with the world!

This is amazing! I've heard so many renditions of Moonlight Sonata that are emotionless and sound like people have metronome in their ear while they're playing (some of which have thousands of likes on here), and this is just the exact opposite. Perfect variations in tempo and velocity that make me feel something! Amazing!

This is almost a mediumistic approach. Really truly high-leveled good stuff! The notes practically play themselves. Adagio Sostenuto's second period of bar 39, in its relentless gloom is the point I always struggle to survive. This whole performance, together with those by Baremboim and Horowitz, is something all music lovers need to hear!

@@capitanaless1o493 in my opinion... his deafness was a blessing....Ultimately... it doesn't matter if he could physically hear... Beethoven was a RARE prodigy.... a very rare true talent.... like Mozart..... it's so sad we don't have God Given talent like these men anymore..... Beethoven and his predecessors ( Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, etc., ) all are true LEGENDS....
WE SERIOUSLY WOULD NOT have our current music if it were not for these individuals!! Especially in the metal gentre, I might add!! :)
