Halloween 2 was so ahead of it's time. Police blatantly killing kids and saying it was an accident is the norm now.

Halloween II just may be my all time favorite horror film sequel. The film still maintains the creepiness of the original and Carpenter's score once again is timeless.

@@hardnewstakenharder Yes, very good film, atmospheric and very frightening in parts. The confessional scene in the movie spooked me when I first watched it.
Some people might not think about this, but Halloween (the holiday, not the movie) is a pretty unique holiday that is given more attention than some people might think. There isn’t any time off from school or work, but it is sort of a major deal. Merchandise, decorations, events, parties, shows and movies made for the holiday, etc. It has some pretty interesting aspects to it. It is the only holiday where people dress up as other things or people and go to other people’s houses; where people open their doors to complete strangers, or people they do not recognize because of the costumes, and give them gifts. People don’t even really do that for XMas. It's a holiday where normally avoided and frightening becomes the welcomed and attractive. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Halloween and to remind people to, as always, stay safe and be careful.

This was pretty good when compared to the other movies that came after it. Like the beginning of this movie was really cool when you get to see Myers escaping through a neighborhood.
I think Halloween 3 is massively underrated.
Halloween 4 is the best sequel, and H20 right after that. Halloween 4 is really underrated.

I’ve always felt like Loomis’ reaction at the end of the first movie seemed like Michael surviving wasn’t a surprise to him. He knew it would happen. However, when 2 begins he seems shocked that Michael survived. I don’t know. I still love the series with a passion. Loomis is a legend.

Most people only like the first one, so yes this one IS underrated.
within the horror community its highly rated that's all I'm saying fuck the critics the fact they didn't like it only appeals to me more they wouldn't know a good horror film if it slapped them round the face
agreed mate it makes me laugh people listen to the likes of rotten tomatoes etc and start slagging films off I bet they haven't even watched to judge for themselves

Halloween II is unique among slasher movies, in that it really feels like a direct continuation. The best sequels, make there respective movies seem like one long story. Think Superman and Superman II or Godfather and Godfather II or the Star Wars trilogy. That's what this movie does, it makes the whole thing with Michael and Laurie seem like on long movie. Really it should have ended there.
I like this better than the first. I found all the backstory in the first really cheesy. Not having characters really helped because they developed fear of Meyers through the deaths. Then they also did a good job playing with time. It all takes place in one night but Meyers only ever walks and Lorie can't run so everything feels in slo mo which for me really helped the suspense.

Halloween 2 is my favourite Halloween movie, Halloween 2 is like the original halloween but on steroids, just everything is better in the sequel like the soundtrack, the suspense/scares etc.

The whole point why the original was so scary is because it’s simple...Making it bigger takes away the scariness ....
I just love the shot of Michael Myers dragging his fingers down the mask as the blood drips from his eyes.

I’ve always really liked this particular sequel and it’s probably my favourite Myers-sequel out of the series, just for direct it is as a sequel and I think it’s the best at capturing John Carpenter’s style which might be to do with his reshoots and status as the co-writer and producer.
That chase scene with Michael and Laurie is one of the greatest chase scenes in horror movie history.
I so dig that 'Empire Strikes Back' Poster you have in your room. That's the Australian version which I grew up with on VHS covers. Way better than the 'Gone with the Wind' version of Empire poster. Trying to find a copy of that poster myself. Shame it is not as easily available.
Halloween 2 used to be my fav horror movie for a long time. Love the scene of her in the parking lot and not being able to scream out for help. It's frustrating but so tense.
Yes! It's like the beginning of Scream, when the girl tries to call her unaware parents for help but just doesn't have the strength to "scream", lol. Both scenes are so awesome and tragic.

DestructionCentral - really? I thought it was just slightly better than season one. But hey ho, we both still enjoyed it.
Halloween II, despite its flaws that I'm now beginning to see, is one of my most favorite sequels of all time.
I know it's not better than the original but I really enjoy because it still feels as fresh as the first film. Even though it was made 3 years later it still feels like the same night it all happened.
I liked that scene where Michael was walking casually downtown in a crowd of people on Halloween unnoticed. That scene works because it's Halloween and so many people in costume are out there.
I think Halloween II is overly criticized because it’s the one closest to the original, so people try comparing it a lot. But there are a lot of fantastic things about Halloween II that builds upon the original. The entire concept of Michael blending in with society on Halloween night is explored for the first time. We see more of Haddonfield. Some of the dialogue among the smaller characters like the hospital workers is just as good as some of the dialogue from the original, with some of it coming off a little less dated (Lynda/Annie as characters aren’t as timeless when compared to Laurie Strode). We also get the updated gothic soundtrack which is great, we trade a little less Laurie for a little MORE Dr Loomis, and the opening few minutes and entire 3rd act are suspenseful as hell.
Still waiting for those other Halloween reviews lol, March has passed. It’s so weird wanting to watch someone talk about stuff you’ve already seen. Maybe it’s just fun to hear other opinions.

I understand the hate that Nightmare 2 gets but I swear if you just think of the film as a single long dream sequence that Jesse is having while in a coma after a bus accident the movie makes WAY more sense. It explains the inconsistencies in continuity and all of Freddy's weird new powers.
that's the thing the sequel is mostly ambiguous with it's "is it a dream or not" sequences, that's why it ends with the "it's all over Jesse" jump, Jesse is suffering with sleep deprivation and you can tell he is slipping in and out of it throughout. Even normal stuff could be a dream, but audiences just assume anything without Freddy is real.

when does Halloween III go up? This is my fav and the best sequel. Then I would go 6 (PC) III and 4. The only good sequels. The original rocks too. II, III, IV and the PC of 6 are the only sequels I can watch
