Chris Stuckmann reviewing a Halloween film on Halloween is a time-honored tradition if ever there was one.
ik right happy halloween bro👍
haha its crazy how long we’ve been watchin I don’t even remember @ this point when I did lol
Soon he will run out of Halloween films to review. Now let that sink in.
I truly believe this is the only reason Hollywood keeps rebooting the series
@@jarjared3522 well he has six more years if he wants to recover the new trilogy and finally discuss Ends long after its release.
This was actually my first introduction in the Halloween franchise. It was the early 2000s I was channel surfing, and this was on HBO. It was a pleasant surprise how this movie was just so engaging.
I called this movie Halloween Water for far too long
Me too.
me too
Your lucky. Mine was resurrection lmao
My introduction as well
The first Halloween I saw as a child from beginning to end, the moment Laurie grabbed the fire axe and screamed "Michael," I permanently became a fan of this franchise.
I love everything about this film. The post-Scream vibes, the soundtrack, the setting, the cast, JLC's return, her portrayal of Laurie, Michael's mask (yep), the ending, everything! It all works for me.
The things you like about it is the thing's people don't like it about it
@@NorthPhilly-zr7xc and I don't care :)
This movie is incredibly underrated. To be honest, I think the scene with Laurie, intentionally locking herself with Michael, and screaming, "MICHAEL!" while carrying an axe was more badass than what we got in Halloween Ends. When the Halloween theme kicked in, I felt tension and, "oh it is on!" and the same time haha
I think it's because we get a nice character arc. In 2018 shes overdoing it and preparing to fight from the get go, so it's like "ah cool, shes finally fighting him." but in H20 she's actively avoiding him and hiding so by the end she has to turn everything around and stand up and face him.
Exactly, her screaming Michael is soooo good. She’s done hiding and running and it’s time to take a stand. My favorite moment in the movie by far.
RUclips gotta do something about these scam bots. they are on tons of channels that don't moderate comments.
I haven’t watched this movie in a long time, but I think I remember that part..yeah, that was AWESOME and really bad ass!👌🏻
Low bar. There was nothing bad ass about Halloween Ends. It's the most ambitious of that trilogy and is a bad movie. The first was the most straightforward, yet it managed to drop the ball and set itself on fire. The world wouldn't miss anything without the past 5 Halloween films (and quite a few of the others). The best scenario would be to only have the first - Otherwise, just it and this (H2O).
I know we’ve had Halloween movies since this, and some I’ve really loved, but this is the perfect ending to the Halloween series, I don’t know if it can ever be topped
As I see it, H20 and Halloween 2018 make sublime finales in their own way.
How could you end the series without Michael getting kicked out of a window by Busta Rhymes?
For as flawed as the new trilogy may be, I did at least like Halloween 2018. Plus I do think his mask in 2018 is quite good. It’s my favorite look for the character as well as the original
Halloween 2 or 4 is the perfect ending. It’s not about laurie
The ending scene is oddly emotional for me, after being pinned on a tree, Laurie and Michael have a brief moment of symphaty, he is her brother anyway, then she remembers all of her friends and people he killed back then, if thier hands had clapsed he would probably grab and choke her to death, Michael is a monster in the shape of a man whose sole purpose is to kill many people as possible, after Laurie decapitates him she breaths heavily in relief that evil is finally vanquished. Resurrection sadly took a big shit on this perfect ending
Your comment deserves more "likes"... well said and great point!
The moment you realize the H20 team are the ones responsible for Resurrection’s twist
Then the David Gordon Green/Danny Mcbride movies took a bigger crap on H2O's ending as well.
I agree. It was a GREAT ending!! Resurrection sucks ass and totally ruined that ending.
@@ponygon777 not really because there was going to be a movie that revealed every halloween movie was in a multiverse including Rob Zombie's remakes
Halloween 1&2 always felt to me like one movie. If you take the end credits off of 1 and the owning credits off of 2 and put them together then it is an epic horror movie! THAT’S how a sequel should be. My favorite movies to watch for Halloween!
I agree Duane Barnes. Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 also feel like parts 1 and 2 of the same movie and I think that consistency between movies is admirable.
Did anyone really win anything or os that someone spamming/scamming?
@@nomadicolours That is a scam
All those types of comments on every message board are scams.
One of my all time favorite scary movies. Had the movie on VHS at 8 years old. Nostalgia! 😭
Oh boy next year we get Halloween: Resurrection aka the movie where Busta Rhymes kung fu kicks Michael Myers out a window.
oh boy yeah 😂
Chris has already done that review with TheFlickPick
HELL YES
That was fire! 😂
Yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhh idk about that review boss 😢
Halloween(the actual life experience) isn't the same without your entire month of October Horror. YOU put me in the mood for spooky times. YOU are now our tradition.
Thank you for your dedication to this every year.
Uhhh what? That just means you’re too connected to being online. Go outside and live life.
This was the first Halloween movie in the franchise that I watched. I was probably about 13 and it was just running on TV late at night and my cousins and I watched it in the dark in the basement. My parents never let us watch horror movies but when my cousins would sleep over in the summer, we'd sneak in the basement late at night and try and find horror movies on TV or DVD's my cousins would smuggle in from their friends. I miss those days
Loved the review.
The reason Michael waits 20 years is explained in H20. He killed Judith Myers when she was 17, he tried to kill Laurie when she was 17, and he’s attempting to kill John now that he’s 17… Is that a contrived reason? Sure! Does it make sense that Michael would just chill for that long or even care about people’s ages? Not at all!
We’ve all been on standby for these reviews. Chris is no doubt the biggest fan of Halloween.
Gotta love how he doesn’t mention “Halloween Ends” when he says “I’ve talked about all the other ones”. He probably hated it like the rest of us😂
He didn't review Matrix Resurrections either, even though he's a huge fan of the series.
He's making films now so he doesn't want to piss of anyone in Hollywood. If he doesn't review a film, it means he hated it like you said.
This movie made me love the franchise. There's a lot to complain about with it but it's nostalgic as hell for me and I still like it.
The ending freaked me out lol 😂
Best part hands down is when she dropped the keys and Michael picked them up to unlock the gate. You realize at that moment that he’s not just some mindless zombie the entire time
Well he did steal car keys in the beginning of the movie and drove to Laurie. That was a big clue he wasn't a mindless zombie...lol
I enjoy so much every Halloween special by you Chris, gets me really excited about October! This one was as great as the previous ones
Been going through a tough time and have just been trying to enjoy my favorite time of year and I appreciate you making your Halloween special videos. Helps me stay in good spirits. Thank you for what you do
I'm today watching Halloween, Halloween II and H20 because they're my favourite 3 from the franchise. Usually when I finish any movie that you have a review for on here I come back and watch it even if I've seen it before. You caught me with this review for H20 right before I press play and watch it 😂
Perfect timing, Chris.
Yeah 1,2 and H20 are my Halloween trilogy tho I enjoy the others whenever I feel like revisitin them..for me there are things I like and hate about the others but whatever..go Utube - are you a good person by living waters
Chris your Halloween specials give me life 🎃
I loved Josh in The Faculty, so when I saw he was in this I was looking forward to it. For me, Halloween 1, 2, and H2O are my main timeline.
Wow. I can't believe this might actually be the last halloween review you do. I was a fan of the channel all the way back when you uploaded the very first one. I was still in grade school when that video dropped. Now all these years later I'm 20 and two months away from starting college. Thanks for all the great years of content, Chris.
I watched H20 for the first time recently and wondered why so many people hate it. I thought Halloween 1, 2, and H20 make a pretty good trilogy. I also have pretty much all the same thoughts as you on why I liked this movie. I haven't seen the new Halloween trilogy, but from the trailer footage I've seen, I appreciate H20 even more with its realistic take on what Laurie's life looks like 20 years later. Helicopter parent trying to protect her son, alcohol problem to help her cope, and trouble trusting people. BUT not letting her past completely stop her from doing good things with her life. I also really like the ending of H20. I felt that her killing Michael the way she did was satisfying and deserved after so many years. But alas, the Halloween franchise is a cash cow, so they never really planned on letting that be the ultimate ending. Retconning everything but the original Halloween is frustrating. Even if most the movies are bad, the whole obsession with what's canon and what isn't has really ruined a lot of things where we could have just been getting a bunch of fun movies.
Nah, H20 is trash.
Agree 100%
My favorite sequel in the franchise! I used to watch this every year as a kid when they aired it during Halloween on AMC/USA or whatever channel they used to play it on.
For me, this is how Halloween franchise ends.... And Not how it was shown in that Corey Cunningham Michael Cameo movie
I really like this film too! I agree the part with Michael Myers hanging from the ceiling was goofy, but it was genuinely exciting and had me intrigued throughout the runtime, and the final showdown was badass. My favorite Halloween sequel.
I just watched Halloween (1978) & it was really good.
My first Halloween film in the cinemas, way back in 1998. Loved it then, and even though it does have its flaws, it's still in the upper ranks for me. Thanks for highlighting it!
What an amazing Halloween Special Chris, thank you so much for all the hrad work that goes into these videos and we'll all be here for next years special. :)
Something I've noticed in the newest (and supposedly final trilogy) is that even though it wipes the continuity slate clean of every movie except the original Halloween, anybody notice that they've made several nods to the other films? Be it characters saying something, characters doing something, a setting, a shot, they make *numerous* call backs to the non-canon movies.
I actually really wish Chris would review Halloween Ends. I would love to hear his opinion seeing as the storyline is a bit controversial. But this is good too!
When Laurie kneed Michael in the nuts the expression in his eyes said it all. That really took the spookiness out of the film. They showed way too much of his eyes with that mask
I wasnt expecting this comment at all, but I appreciate it.
Happy Halloween Stuckmannizers! Always love October and your content. Good luck tonight...
Happy Halloween 🎃 I had so much fun with these reviews. You got me into the spirit. Thank you. 🙂
Halloween Ressurection is one of the GREATEST comedies ever conceived.
Been waiting for this one!
They doing this to Chris too?!!
Loving the reviews, glad that your having success but really miss the regular review uploads
After watching the most recent trilogy, my love for this film grew. I think Halloween, Halloween II and H20 are the better trilogy. Sure, the other films have things that I like and or enjoy, but when it comes to the Laurie Strode story, H20 is a fitting ending and my favorite by far. The scene of Michael and Laurie through the door window is iconic and I don't think the rest of the franchise has a moment quite like that.
Moving forward I think it would be great if you review some horror anthologies, a lot of those have amazing Halloween vibes and fit perfect for October 31st. Amazing special this year Chris, THANK YOU!
Halloween H20 was so good..and it had the perfect ending for Laurie Strode..the franchise really ended here
Halloween 2018 would've been a fine ending too
Do a review of halloween Ends
Love the content recently man! Thank you for all the great videos through out the years. Happy Halloween from a long time subscriber🎃
Amazing Halloween H20 Review Chris, thank you for all the 10th annual Halloween special and have a happy Halloween 🎃
This is hands down the best Halloween Sequel ever!
No, it isn't.
The perfect ending to a Halloween movie, until busta rhymes wanted to have a kung fu battle with Micheal Myers smh
Happy Halloween! Thanks for continuing to bring us awesome content.
Your Halloween Special's make my October and Halloween. Thank you so much for making the effort for these
Hearing Chris call John his buddy again made me unbelievably happy. 🥲
Chris, please do another video with him soon! You guys have such great on-screen charisma and your friendship has always been a delight to watch over the years.
Halloween H20 literally is the movie that made me care about the Halloween franchise to a degree, and love Laurie Strode as a character, and it also made me a fan of the Scream franchise (due to the music being borrowed from the first two, and so much more interesting things I looked up about). Seriously underrated film, and is my favorite Halloween film without a doubt.
Thanks for another year of awesome Halloween reviews Chris, you da man.
Oh and the Halloween intro for all your videos is biblical 😁
Thank you Chris! I have watched all the movies you reviewed this year and inmediately after, your videos. It's been awesome! Happy Halloween 🎃 everybody!
Your Halloween videos bring me more happiness than family holiday events. Thank you for another great year!
Your Halloween special is one of my favorite things about October! Good job Chris!
🔝Thanks ! Feel free to reach out i have something for you 📦
I'd love to experience a traditional Halloween in fall but instead I live in Australia and we're all sweating in every crevasse this time of year.
You’d probably find autumn interesting then. The air has a cool crispness that’s very unique.
@@copperridgegrow3940 Even winters are hot over here. Ya'll Americans complain about the heat and I'm sitting here drenched in sweat with the air conditioner on the lowest setting it can go. It's one of my life goals to experience a traditional October and December akin to the movies I grew up with ala Halloween and Home Alone.
Nice to watch this on Halloween. Little home sick since I have to be out of town on a film project and not able to enjoy Halloween with my wife but nice to watch your reviews, love it and keep it up.
Alright I love your reviews for the Halloween franchise! Happy Halloween 🎃
was constantly refreshing today waiting for this review to pop up
I've been looking forward to this review all year !! Once Again, I have been Stuckmannized
The Stuckmannization of America continues unabated.
The 2018 doesn’t recognize the second for a pretty good reason to be honest, David Gordon Green actually almost kept it canon in his film up until they started writing it when Danny McBride convinced him to drop it, the reason is the twist, Laurie being Michael’s sister, John Carpenter has said that twist was a mistake himself and changed Michael from no motive to someone hunting his bloodline, the takeaway for DDG was that it’s much scarier when it’s random and I agree with that.
Hey thanks, you have something to claim, text me
First Jeremy, now Chris is reviewing Halloween: H20. Guess I gotta revisit this entry.
Definitely love your channel, you do a great job and it feels like a real show cause well it is! soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..........I know everyone and their mother has done one....but you kinda have to do one also on the new Halloween ends debacle. I think to me where most of the movies fall short is they never really go back to the basic reason the 1st worked so well. the mystery, the face in the window, the shape staring at you across the street ...eerie and dark....Yes we know who he is now but I think they can still make him creepy instead of just a slasher....anyway...always enjoy you! and you are one of the few I listen to LOL :) lets hear it! ....the mood the sad and the yuky :) Cheers Lad!
Thanks Chris! Love all your videos. Keep up the good work! Can’t wait for Shelby Oaks.
Fun fact: at one point in the movie, Scream 2 plays on the TV, meaning that the Scream movies exist in the Halloween universe (at least in the H20 timeline). But obviously, the Halloween movies are mentioned in the Scream universe, so…
Happy Halloween Chris. I’m already waiting for 11 next year!
Jeremy reviewed this film recently as well, so it’s cool seeing you do a review of it as well
I loved this movie when I saw it in the theaters in the nineties and I believe it becomes better every year! I really still do believe this is the perfect finale...
Man I've been watching your stuff for so long I don't even remember when I started. Maybe I was always subscribed.
It's crazy how long Chris has kept this tradition up. On top of the Halloween special we always get to look forward to a Halloween review at the end. Can't wait for the 11th one when we finally get to see Chris talk about Busta Rhymes kicking Michael Myers through a wall.
Ah, damn nevermind.
I’m so bummed Halloween is over. Chris posting about horror cinema all month has been a blast.
Happy Halloween! Chris and yes this movie I watched this month and I really enjoyed it. It's best I was thinking you're gonna review Halloween Ends or not ?!
I was going to suggest Trick r Treat for Halloween next year. But I just found out you already did a review four years ago 😁😁🎃🎃 a rewatch is always good!
I find the set up for Laurie in this film much more believable than the one in 2018. I feel like the situation Laurie was in between 2018 and Ends should have flipped because it made absolutely no sense why Laurie would be so paranoid about an event that happened nearly 40 years prior and her actual involvement in was very minor with the actual killer being locked up. Ends had her over the events of the 78’ film + the Trilogy and writing a memoir about it when legit Michael was actually still in the loose after killing like 100 people. H20 was a much more realistic set up with Laurie being somewhat paranoid but still able to have a normal life even though she went through two films with Michael in this universe.
Jamie Lee Curtis has said Laurie in 1978 would have received no mental health care after that evening and was sent back to school and told to get on with her life. She was traumatised and received no help. In 2018 she believes Michael is after her and will come for her but as we find out he didn't care and it was just the evil doctor forcing them together. It's mentioned in Ends that she got sober and received help and has now come to terms with the fact Michael was never after her: it was just unfortunate circumstance. She went from believing he was the unstoppable boogeyman in 2018 to "just a man" in Ends.
I can’t believe this is the 10th annual special ! 10 years !!!
I have been waiting so long for this video.
I really love watching H2O. Great month of videos Chris!!!!
Hearing your brief thoughts on Ends makes it clear why you haven’t reviewed it! I toootally agree with your thoughts.
Will say would’ve loved to see your review of ends
Happy Halloween 🎃Great content as always, are you planning on releasing a Halloween ends review?
Hey Chris, was hoping to see a Halloween Ends review, but I understand why you’re choosing not to. Anyways, great review of H20 & really looking forward to Shelby Oaks! Cheers :)
Happy Halloween to you and your family, Chris!
I’ve been waiting for this video all October.
For a second at the end I thought you were gonna say you were retiring the whole Halloween Specials altogether. You scared me, Chris!! You scared me.
Happy Halloween Chris and thank you.
Chris, I love you. Long time subscriber. Can’t wait for your movie. I know you don’t do it any more..but please do the Rob Zombies. Think about this…a hilariocity reviewing both Zombie Halloween movies to conclude next years HALLOWEEN Special. Your channel, do what you want. I’ll support it no matter what…but I would love it.
Really enjoying the videos on your channel just brilliant 🎥 keep up the good work 👍👍👍
My biggest issue with this movie is how they use a lot of the original Scream soundtrack for the chase sequences. This came out shortly after that series revived the slasher genre, and adding songs from that movie to a Halloween movie made it so apparent that they were trying to replicate Scream’s success. Still enjoy H20, but the original Halloween will always be my favorite. Keep up the great work, Chris!!
They did explain why Michael re-emerged. Michael killed Judith when she was 17, and attempted to kill Laurie when she was 17. John recently turned 17.
knew it! re watched it this year! knew you are going to review this, waiting for ressurection next
We just rewatched this film this year again, and absolutely loved it. I preferred this Laurie to the one in the new film. This is a strong woman, who has her issues but doesn’t completely collapse because of what happened to her 30+ years ago. Very enjoyable. Way more than the new ones imho. Thanks for the review!
Only thing missing from that scene of Myers hanging off the pipe is some monkey noises. Gets me every time
I would be really interested in Chris's opinion on the Rob Zombie Halloween movie.
Listen Chris, as a guy in his 40s, I got back on the basketball court with some college kids...and damn I never felt more slow motion in my life!!!!!! Lol. I agree, he needed to slow down and be a brutal tank. Thanks for the series. Looking forward to the movie. Stay great!!!!
H20 is a testament that 90s horror movies are great.
There was another wink to Psycho fans, where Janet Leigh’s character speaks next to a driveway and you can hear a snippet of the Psycho theme music when she goes to her car…
Happy Halloween, Chris! :)
Thank you for another great Halloween Season of cool movie recommendations and commentary!
PATIENTLY WAITING FOR YOUR HALLOWEEN ENDS REVIEW!!!
Great review as always! Are you going to review the new Selick movie Wendell and Wild?
Keep doing more and more Halloween specials!
What I like about the H20 timeline is that you get to play around with in your head is what Michael Myers has been doing for 20 years until he found where his sister was. I like to believe that he was stalking and killing other innocent people during that time and that he was wearing different masks and costumes as well. Also showing how evil he is because he'll go after other people too than just family. I think that's what they were trying to hint at in all the newspapers in the opening sequence. I think there's also comics based on that too. Non-canon though.
