Chris Stuckmann reviews Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, starring Donald Pleasence, Ellie Cornell, Danielle Harris, George P. Wilbur. Directed by Dwight H. Little. - Развлечения
This was the first Halloween movie I saw as a kid, guilty pleasure.
Jonny P Same here bro. Childhood lvl 1000
Same
I legit think it's a good horror sequel. That may not sound like much, but it's so much better than it had any right to be.
same here
Who else remembers this movie always playing around Halloween on AMC?
Did you know that the actor who plays Myers in this movie is now a local news anchor in Quahog, Rhode Island, and goes by Tom Tucker?
Best comment.
George P Wilbur
Hes a phoney. A big fat phoney!
And has an awesome mustache.
No way! :o
Dr. Loomis - one of the most badass horror heroes in film.
No Heroes Publishing that dude is legendary
@@tronlorne9328 Up there with Ash Williams; both are basically lovecraftian heroes slowly losing their minds before an impossible situation but doing it regardless.
He's just so likable you wanna hug him
This is actually my favorite sequel in the franchise, and the Halloween film I normally try to watch Halloween night. More than any other film in the franchise, this one fills me with the feelings of the season. Especially that opening credits sequence.
Derek Connors Opening sequence, especially Alan Howarth’s soundscape, might be the best thing in the entire franchise not in the original movie or the 2018 reboot.
For sure!
Halloween 4 is still in my opinion in the top 3 of all Halloweens. No other Halloween had an ending that was so shocking.
To be honest I really appreciate this fourth chapter. I realize that she actually has a lot of problems, there are even one or two scenes where Loomis' scars change and Michael has a different mask, but it's a film that manages to entertain, Danielle Harris gives an incredible performance for her age and together with Donald Pleasence proves to be one of the best in the film. Also I love the ending. I think it's one of the best endings in the Halloween saga. Total evil victory, with Jamie in that costume and Loomis screaming in horror. I am attached to this film, but I am very aware that it has so many problems. And yet I can't help but appreciate it.
This was the first horror film I ever saw. Holds a special place in my heart.
In regards to the final scene, I'm on the side that absolutely loves it. They had one chance to pull it off and I think they did. The visual of Jamie at the top of the stairs is burned into my head forever.
Hey, Chris. Since the Irishman is coming out soon, how about reviewing some Scorsese movies?
Off topic, I know
That would be great
I'm all for this
Yeah, Chris, you gotta do it, man.
Wud be awesome possum !!!
Scorsese is the Man
The ending of this sequel would have been a perfect end for the Halloween franchise
Halloween was the perfect end.
@@jamesedleymusic The '78 original? Yeah.
Halloween h20 should of been the end here we are in 2021 and another one comes out
@@jennyoneill8879 There is no end to evil.
It would have been a good trilogy starting with micheal killing his sister in the clown suit and ending with jamie killing her mom in the clown suit
"Shoves a girl through a shotgun barrel" or "Shoves a shotgun barrel through a girl"
I wish it was the first, now THAT would be interesting!
This is one of the most underrated movies in the whole series ...they had a formula that work but they ruined it with part 5 by Killing Rachel so early I knew she would die but she ends up dying and then nobody cares or realizes till there's like two minutes left in the film
Why they chose Tina instead of her is beyond me.
@@eriklakeland3857 Yeah, the whole movie sucks. The only redeeming quality about that film is... Nope, it all sucks.
You should do a "Leprechaun in the Hood" review.
Yesss
Lol
That would have been so funny😆
Nah man leprechaun in space ftw
That would be absolutely hysterical.
Hey Chris, I’ve been watching your channel for over 5 years now and have always been a big fan, my dad is Dwight Little who directed the film and I really enjoyed listening to your thoughts and opinions about the movie, Thank you for the awesome review👍
Tell your father thanks for directing the movie. Its awesome! 👍👌
A lot of horror sequels try to copy the original but this movie is it’s own film, a true sequel.
Also the fact this movie played on the TV all the time, especially around Halloween so it’s probably one of the most popular/well known horror movies of the millennial generation, it’s the movie that introduced me to Michael Myers so I’m glad it’s well done lol Thank your dad for me and tell him good job, 4/5 stars.
🎃👍🏻Dwight H. Little! He did a great job directing Halloween 4. He gave the movie an awesome creepiness eeriness and halloween feel to it. One of my favorites in the franchise. Man, he really should've been brought back to direct Halloween 5. Only makes sense. The Revenge of Michael Myers would've absolutely been better!
Make sure to tell him it's my favourite one and he did a great job
Any funny/cool filming stories/facts? Doesn’t have to be from this movie
Chris is really putting out a lot of halloween reviews. Love it!
U can tell he fucks with the spooky szn
One of my favorite Halloween movies ever..great atmosphere.
I Hated it it's not the worst Halloween Movie I've seen. That would be Halloween Resurrection. I hated Halloween 4 cause it did not continue the Anthology series route that Season of the Witch established. Because people acted like babies and just wanted Michael Myers over and over again. Michael Myers at this point is not as scary as he used to be in the original 1978 film. They give him stupid motivations in each sequel and remake. Michael at this point is like Groundhog Day IT NEVER ENDS!
Halloween 4 is actually one of my top 3 favorite horror films. The opening credits alone still gives me chills. I love the shit outta H4 ❤️🎃🔪
Why do the opening credits give you chills? 🤔
Ashley Barlowe Music is harrowing drone, and although the visuals have nothing to do with M. Myers, when paired with the score, they are shot in a way takes what ought to be a bucolic setting and adds a real sense of dread.
The opening credits are great in my view because they really evoke a sense of the fall season, and October in particular. This time Utah stands in for Illinois.
Same i love it, dont know why
@@mariafahey750 I hated Halloween 4 as a Halloween fan it's my 2nd worst Halloween movie alongside Rob Zombie's Remakes
This was one Busta Rhymes away from being a perfect movie
Was watching this one last night. One of my favorites of the franchise.
Same here...its a pretty low bar to clear, but Halloween 4 is def one of the best sequels.
and it's pure childhood. I saw these parts 4+5 every year in TV as a kid
Thomas Ebert Exactly. The 4th was actually my introduction to Michael Myers so it’s pretty special to me.
I literally watched this today
Yeah, too bad 5 is awful but i kinda like the 6th one, because it has one of the best Michael's portrayal on this series
I think that the aesthetic for this year's Halloween special was really cool. Chris really puts in the effort for small details, and I appreciate that.
Which video has his Halloween short for this year?
Jamie’s not really having “visions.” They call those like... nightmares lol.
She's asleep? They are called hallucinations.
2020: Halloween 5 & Halloween kills
2021: Halloween the curse of Michael Myers and Halloween ends
2022: Halloween H20
2023: Halloween resurrection
2024: Rob Zombie's Halloween
2025: Rob Zombie's Halloween II
jennifer romero mant that’s crazy. It’ll be 2025 in no time
Well we're having life problems Covid-19, coronavirus and riots.
Well now it just halloween 5 in 2020 since kills got delayed
This is honestly my favorite right next to the original. I really liked the direction of the movie and THAT ENDING THOUGH!
It’s better than the original.
@@gvidovaldmanis6377 yeah right 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@sameerhafeez7029 I’m Serious. The original is The Second best of the franchise, Halloween 4 is the best. Feel free to Share your thoughts about why the original is better in your opinion.
@@gvidovaldmanis6377love 4 but 1 and 2 are easily better. The whole transfer of evil thing is cheesy and dumb and lowers this one beneath the brilliance of the first 2
Hey chris
Can u review the korean film, "Parasite"?
Heard it's one of the leading candidates for the best picture of academy this year.
It'll win best foreign film for sure
2019 best movie
이홍규 ITS SO GOOD. THANK YOU SOUTH KOREA FOR THE AMAZNG MOVIE
Best 2019 film. Though it the only 2019 film I seen so my opinion doesn't matter.
I think it’ll win Best Picture.
Iv said this many times, but this channel is simply incredible, I come here time and time again to watch reviews on films I don't even care to see, just because the reviews are crafted in such an enjoyable manor. Id say this is my all time favourite channel iv ever subscribed to as it churns out consistently entertaining and interesting content
I just want to say Thank-you for your dedication to your craft , and sharing it for our pure enjoyment . You Mr.Stuckmann are a true entertainer and a wonderful storyteller . You always manage to put a smile on my face . Thank-you
This was my first time hearing about the reshoots.

Awe, get well soon Sam!!! Also, you gave the perfect description for this film: is not as bad as the rest. You made a great special this year, thanks a lot and HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃
Although my favorite sequel is Halloween 2, I really appreciate this film despite its flaws and I watch it every year around Halloween time. It’s fun and feels seasonal compared to the rest of the sequels in the series.
Halloween 4 is the best in the entire series.
6:19 "Meyers shoves a girl through a shotgun barrel"? I think that should be the other way around
I was just thinking that
"Why didnt you just shoot her with the shotgun?"
Meyers "Do you know how annoying it is to reload?"
Meyers Shotguns a barrel through a shoved girl
@@the_gratefulgamer so many Meyers and not enough Myers.
Haha I was wondering if I was the only one that noticed that
Chris I can’t tell you how happy I am you did H4 it’s one of my favorites !!! Thank you !!
Thanks for making my October great Chris. Hope your wife gets better. Good to see you enjoying your work
Happy Halloween 🎃 Definitely one of my faves in the Halloween collection
3:18 Clearly they went with another Star Trek character mask for Michael. That's a Lt. Commander Data mask, obviously.
Tinstrings hilarious
Really so what next a Spock mask and Anakin mask?
Happy thanksgiving everyone 🦃
Happy Halloween Chris and Sam! 🎃 👻 I love your annual Halloween videos
I've been waiting a year for this review!! Well done Chris!!!!
Wow Chris I can't believe you gave it an A+
He didn't lol..
Smashed that watch button so fast
Thought you wrote that you pressed the wash button
Did you break your device?
Love you so much Chris. Just clicked of another video as soon as I got the notification for this one
Another fun Halloween Special in the books. I really enjoy these man, thanks for doing them! Bummer that Sam couldn't join in this year. Hope she gets to feeling better soon!
This is such a underrated sequel it does so much well, I give it a B-
I'm loving these Halloween specials! *Especially loved learning about the film Night Killer, the night killer who kills in the day 🤣*
I love that Loomis survived the explosion inside the room at the end of Halloween 2. I don't think anybody would have made it out of there without their entire body being charred to an unrecognizable mess.
Thank you for two uploads today Chris.
Just found out there was a remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 remake
You just found that out bro?
Little late.
It's actually a good remake/reimagining.
Try not to listen to any of the negativity you might hear about it.
Hope everyone had a great 2019 Halloween!!!
I loved it! Happy Halloween Chris! 🎃
Great review Chris! I am SO glad you mentioned the 1:85 ratio. I loved the original Halloween with its scope ratio. I hated when they ditched it for the flat ratio in part 4, like no one would notice. I remember when this movie came out in 1988 and immediately noticed the switch in ratios. At least the later movies went back to scope.
My third favorite Halloween. I Wish they followed up on the awesome ending.
I remember as a kid this movie scared the shit outta me. Still one of my favorite horror movies.
OMG YOU'RE CONTINUING THE HALLOWEEN REVIEWS MY DREAM HAS COME TRUE
Wasn’t even expecting this! Happy Halloween Chris!
Hey Chris was wondering at the end of 2019 or beginning of 2020 if you would please do another Updated Bluray Collection? PLEASE!!!!!
Hey chris, I'd really appreciate if you could review some horror anime! such as Urasawa's masterpiece "monster" or the junji ito collection, happy halloween!
Best time of year for this channel, change my mind
So happy you reviewed this film Chris! This has always been one of my favs, don’t know why LOL
Halloween Plot Twist: Chris is keeping his wife locked up in a basement..... 👻🎃😱
This has always been one of the good ones
i really enjoyed your halloween special this year thank you again .
The scene where Rachel is looking for Jamie down the alley and Michael is stood there in the mist is awesome.
One of the best, scariest haunting scenes in all the franchise that defines Michael and Halloween.
Peter Griffin thinks it’s the Greatest Movie of all time
I love Halloween 4! It has to be my second favorite from the franchise. Also Happy Halloween everyone👻😈
Second favorite after what?
My interesting fact of the day! My mothers family owned a garden nursery here in Lincolnshire England and she served Donald Pleasance a bunch of geraniums. He would play a character called Mr Geranium in Disney's original Escape to Witch Mountain! There finally got an excuse to tell that story!! Loved this Halloween review season Chris.
It's so funny that you just published this because I literally just got done with Halloween II, and was looking at Halloween 4 trying to decide if I should watch it or not, it's been a long time and I can't remember if 4 is any good, perfect timing!!! I mean I was literally looking away it trying to decide when this review popped up.
I fear Chris Stuckmann will become a famous movie Director before he finishes the Halloween movies.
He owes us this before he leaves us
He owes us nothing. But I also think if anything chris will not let us down. If he must I wouldn't mind him passing the torch to his wife or flick pick
@@nickwohrer1283 He owes big time.
Shawn Kemp these movies aren’t even all that bloody tf you talking about? 🤣
This is actually my favorite Halloween movie. Mainly for Donald Pleasance. It tends to get skipped over and not get the recognition it deserves. Instead lumped in with the awful parts 5 and 6. The ending is great and it's a shame the studio didn't have the guts to follow up on it. I love the eerie opening too.
Happy Halloween bud!
Happy Halloween Chris! I enjoyed :D
I know I’m in the minority but this is like my second or third favorite of the franchise
I honestly love this movie and think it’s honestly a very well done sequel.
You are the only movie critic that I can actually listen to the opinion of and agree almost every single time. Love your opinions and love your videos!
YESSS! I was in a bad mood and seeing this in my notifications made me in a good mood again. Btw have you seen El Camino yet?
Easily my favorite Halloween sequel. I remember my brother picking me up from school early to see it in theaters. I adore the opening and the twist ending. It's otherwise derivative but enjoyable. Donald Pleasence is fun even if he's hamming it up. He's earned it. I wish more the movie had focused on his character just devolving into his own insanity and willingness to endanger people to kill Michael. It'd of been the perfect opportunity to go full Moby Dick/Captain Ahab. It could have been the film to end the series with a dying Loomis having killed Myers witnessing Jamie turn before he himself dies.
Oh what could have been. But I appreciate it more than any other Halloween made since. Even if the opening credits sequence is scariest part of the movie.
Halloween 4 is the best movie of the entire franchise.
yes they tried that in Friday the 13th and Nightmare with the villain becoming someone else... it never really works out well.
I hope that Sam feels better, she was truly missed in this year‘s Halloween special. It’s always fun to see Chris and Sam talk about horror movies together
Can't believe it's already been a year since the season of the witch review. I remember it so vividly. Happy Halloween everyone!
The covers were scarier than the movies
CORRECTION: The mask was never lost and they never had to replace it in Halloween 2.
Happened to it ? If u don’t mind me asking
Pretty sure carpenter had it, I guess it was used in 2018 movie?! What I read anyway
@@bw536 Actually after Halloween 1978 Debra hill took the mask home and put it under her bed. She was a smoker so the mask turned yellow from all the cigarette smoke. The mask was later used in Halloween 2. The mask also looks kinda different cause the guy that played Michael Myers ( Dick Warlock ) had a wider face than Nick Castle. It stretched out the mask as you can see how different it looks in Halloween 2.
@@mattiace635 Chris didn't say it was replaced in Halloween 2. He mentioned it having to be replaced after Halloween 2.
It wasn't lost. Dick Warlock took it home
I hope your wife gets well soon. As always, thank you for the Halloween Special. I look forward to it every year.
Wait, didn't you say Sam was going to join you towards the end of the month? I was looking forward to that. Love the dynamic you two have on camera
Will there be a Parasite review?
Edit: it’s now November where I am
I love the “thorn trilogy.” Really fun movies and storyline.
Favorite Halloween special yet. Always love it!
hey chris, this is one of my favorite horror movies and i'll tell you why.
Growing up as a wee lad in ny (i was born in 1980) they would show Halloween 1 and 2 every year around Halloween and I would watch religiously. One year they showed part 3 and my mind couldn't grasp the concept of no Michael Myers, I thought I'd never see him again. Until, 1988 when i saw the trailer to halloween 4. I was so hyped but didn't catch it in theaters but on home video.
This movie wrecked me as an 8 year old. I was so excited and not ready to be this scared. 1 and 2 didn't scare me too bad cuz he was after teenagers but this time he was trying to kill someone my age. It gave me my first sleepless night....ah memories.
Anyway, thanks chris, your halloween specials are great.
When I was younger I had a crush on Rachel in this movie
AJ Daniels No the sheriff's daughter with the tig ol bitties was the chick. She was just slim but when you watch it when you get older you see why the dude Rachel liked wasn't tryna wait for her and went over the other girls houss to smash
I had a crush on Michael myers
@@princeuvolesckoolbmovies5460 so guys like bigger girls better?
The poster misled me into believing that the movie would have the *cool* Michael Myers mask. I guess it tricked me.

Chris you are the best at this i really enjoy these and the way you think it's just very compelling happy Halloween oh and the decorations in the back are great and simple😈👽
Love this movie! Thanks for reviewing...one of my favs In the series
This is the first one I've seen. Saw it on TV several years ago.
I love Halloween 4. Saw it as a kid with a couple of friends. The ending creeped us out for sure. Definitely underrated. This one's a B, for me at least. Keep em coming, Chris. And thanks for doing what you do. As a movie lover, I appreciate you, man. Hope you're wife feels better soon.
I can't wait for you to do 5 and 6 next year. Honestly i love these next 2 movies. They form a mythos with is a lot more than we get from any future movies after that.
Hope your wife starts to feel better soon! 🙂the flu really sucks :/
I wish they'd made the movie like the opening credits.
There really is something about that credit sequence and the way it invokes the fall season that makes you feel like you're in for something special. While I still enjoy the film overall, I never have felt like it lived up to that opening.

The opening sequence was one of the best in the series. Alan B McElroy done a great job on the script given the time crunch from the writers strike. The score was also one of the best in the series as well.
Chris I enjoyed this year's Halloween special reviews as usual, and I hope your wife is feeling better. But how come you didn't review Zombieland Double Tap as part of it? I'm curious of your thoughts on it and hope it's not too late for you to cover it.
