    For a guy with as much experience behind the trigger as you have you always come across as humble and continually trying to learn. I’m just a simple gun enthusiast with no military or LEO experience but really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your insight and experience. Cheers!

      A couple things I learned early on: #1: When you stop learning your mind starts dying. #2: Ego keeps most people from achieving greatness. #3: There is always someone better than you, but that doesn't mean you should stop trying to become them. Not sure how much it resonates with others but I try to live by them. Thanks for the support!

    I agree with your early findings on skills translating to different guns. My first experience with a pistol was in the Marines. Those fundamentals that were drilled into me have served me well no matter what gun I shoot. They even translate to revolvers. Sight alignment, sight picture, stance, grip, BRASS are all I've ever needed. Have I developed other techniques or tricks over the decades, especially for competition? Sure, but nothing I couldn't have lived without. 1911A1, S&W 10, M92A1, Glock(s), etc., they all work well with those fundamentals. And, the same is true for long guns. I learned on the M14 but everything learns works for bolt actions, the M15/16 series and even lever actions and shotguns. Basics are basics.

    I went thru similar of project1gun. I got my carry last oct. got a glock bug and shot only my 19 gen 5. for almost a year strait. worried about carring a high round firarm. so I got a CZ p10c and a G17 since then. and was putting high rounds P10C and loving it.. started caring it. lol. and having to clean it every range session made me purchased a second p10c tactical. for practice. it wad pre 2018 and has few issues with mag release. but love practicing with it has been wonderful.. its really cool you have been doing project gun. 🤘

    I don"t think anyone could hold it against you if you decide to cut the cord on project one gun. Like you said before there is only so much that can change or be learned after a certain amount of time. Your work on project one gun brought me to your channel, and I am looking forward to seeing what you will be doing in the future

    Fron a retired brother in blue, In the 70's the choice was S&W or Colt 38 special on duty. Off duty or as a back up was a J frame smith. Off duty was a Colt Govt Series 70 45acp. That was the first 10 years. OH! BTW, 158gr lead round nose because it was good enough for LAPD. This was before they moved to 9mm. 4" barrel was the norm until we moved to the Sig 226 with a 4.4" barrel and at 30 years it's what I retired carrying. Bowling pins was my favorite form of competition back then.

    I tried the one gun for all once. Did not work for me either. So, P320 full size Tacops is home duty and the compact and sub compact fill duty roll. I do have an x carry I am testing right now. Sounds like that course was good to go. I took a course through the Sig Academy and had the same experience.

    In terms of maintenance, do you strip the slide apart to clean the internals? I wasn’t sure given the round count if you had a cleaning routine ? I can’t wait for the next update - it’s great to get a detailed review with actual round counts.

    I’m 2yrs late, but I used a Glock 45 for edc, competition, range and for work as a deputy. I shot it so much, ended up trading it for a Glock 17. Now I’m back to the Glock 45 for edc and range gun.

    I have a Glock 17 gen 4 and I have around 7,000 rounds total after about two years. I have also had zero malfunctions of any kind. This is the only firearm I have ever seen or owned to never experience a single malfunction even after 1000rds. I would trust it with my life.

    As I have been following your One Gun project, I have been shooting the snot out of my G19 Gen 5 since May. I don’t have nearly as many rounds as you, I’m around 4K rounds. I was concerned as you pointed out about a high round count gun as a EDC gun as well. I decided to buy a second G19 with the same Ameriglo sights as a carry gun and continue training with my first G19. Only spending money on Ammo for training. Thank you for your video content.

    J two things. #1 what cal Sig p320 is your duty carry? And #2 I like to shoot many guns but I do practice,maintain,and carry my Gen 5 G19 without worrying about long range accuracy. Any self defense shooting over 21 ft chances are I'd be in jail. Just my thoughts. Stay safe.

      @jhelmsing  5 лет назад

      Good point, as a LEO we are finding ourselves at times facing long guns in long hallways or large venues and it has me thinking more about capacity and stand off distances. What you said is absolutely correct for CCW however. We use the full sized P320 in 9mm (with tlr-1 HL) and are also issued P320C in 9mm for concealed use

    • @Mrandher83
      @Mrandher83 5 лет назад

      J Helmsing the 9mm change still hasn’t taken off in Florida yet. Still 90% .40. and then .45 with 9mm last on the list. A larger agency in the Tampa area did go to 9mm a year or two ago but that’s about it. What ammo do they issue you?
