@@yourlocaltransgendermom953 good stuff! ETS (just do a light search online) will turn up GREAT mag options. ETS mags are every bit (if not stronger than) Magpul Pmags in my experience, and cheaper than Pmags/OEM Glock Mags. The G26 will accept every other higher capacity glock double stack mag (ex. G19, G17, 33rd mags) barring they're the right caliber. Then, later on, get yourself a 19 and you've got backwards mag compatibility between your larger pistol and your smaller CCW pistol. Carry with the 10rd flush fit and carry two g19 mags for backup. That's what I run as my summer CCW. In the winter, I run my G19 with two g19 mags. It's a wonderful platform of choice.

Mechanically wise they're better IMO maybe for aftermarket support the Gen 3 wins atm but i have gens 3-5 and think gen 5 is superior in regards to build quality, trigger break/reset, finish, FSS and overall shoot-ability is better. I hate the finger grooves for drills just feels clunky.

I've carried double stack Glocks since 1987 as a LEO and overtime I've developed considerable "muscle memory" with them. The G26 has been in the field for 25 plus years, it's a proven reliable, accurate, durable, capacity expandable, and easy to control sub-compact. Much easier and softer to shoot than the 43 series. It replaced my Colt DS as my "off duty" 25 years ago...

@Don2615 I don’t want a Gen-4. The Gen-5 has improvements that matter to me. One of the best Gen-5 improvements is the new breechface cut that in combination with the new ejector make shell ejection perfectly uniform unlike the erratic ejection of gens1-4.

@@chrisragone8785My gen 3 G26 doesn't have "erratic ejection". Never heard of any that have. I have a gen 3 G26, G17 and G19. They all have the exact same ejection pattern: Strong, high and land about 5 yards behind me and to my right. My gen 5 G19, on the other hand, has an "ok" ejection pattern. My brother-in-law's gen 5 G26 has about the exact same "ok" but acceptable pattern. Never heard that complaint before in over 25 years of owning, carrying and shooting glocks, but I guess anything is possible.

Of course it does. The 43x and 48 grips are 19 length. I don't even understand the point of them at all. Who would want the same round count as a subcompact while printing like a compact/full size. Very odd pistols. And thats coming from a Glock 'fan boy'.

@@TheActualJesus In NY there is no point of having a 17 or 19 when you can the same size gun, but thinner and made for the 10 round magazine limit the state imposes. Its a niche gun for people who want a full grip unlike the 26, but is efficient in size to limit ratio.

Great video. I run the G42, G19, and the G26 Gen4s. Chose my carries as you have. Each of my Glocks have a purpose in my EDC rotation. The G26 is my go to and all have either the TLR6 or TLR8 mounted. Not much into smaller is better except with my G42, why I chose the .380cal for that weight and size. Nothing replaces range-time no matter his choice. At 72yrs capable of keeping my groups within 4" of center in a 3 shots in 3 secs drill from the holster or low ready at 50 feet, my standard practice even with my G42. The reason I chose Glocks is the grips and grip angle aswell as all my Glocks have grown with me and my abilities without a tag along "gunsmith". Again, great video and reasoning.

I tried the whole super sub compact thing when I got on the shield 9 bandwagon years ago...prior to that, I carried my glock 26 gen 3...I have recently retired my shield 9 and gone back to my ole G26 because my groups have always been tighter and faster, it fits my hand better with or without pinky extender, and I can carry a spare 17 round mag for back up...Sure it's slightly more bulky but not much more. Certainly, nothing that a bigger pair of pants and a nice holster can't fix...Bottom line, carry what you shoot best...your life may depend on it.

Civilians whine about the sights and the trigger but if you've ever served in your military, you don't get to choose which weapon you get to use. ``Don't like the sights,, don't like the trigger?" learn to live with it. Learn to make the best of it.

_Today the contest between which ammo choice is better is over_
    From: Active Armed Self Protection
    *Their DATA*
    CCW Calibers used in America:
    - 70% of the U.S. use 9mm
    - 10% use .40 S&W
    - 9% use 45 ACP
    - 11% use *"other"* caliber
    Notes:
    - The 11% *"other"* calibers include the .22LR, .25, .32, 380, .357 mag., .44 mag., 10mm, 5,7x28mm, etc.
    - The Worlds usage of 9mm is probably even higher than above U.S. figures.
    *Informed (opinion) conclusion:*
    1. Mouse gun & large gun calibers are not recommended for self-defense.
    2. Best caliber(s) to use for CCW is the *9mm.* World police & World military agree with this
as most folks use the 9mm including US police & military.
*Note:* these figures are from an Active Self Protection video (Nov. 27, 2017):
Biggest Takeaways of My Survey of 6,000 + Firearms Carriers | Active Self Protection Extra
    ruclips.net/video/RZ0v7zoVzV0/видео.html
*The 2019 & 2020 top U.S. soft shooting CCW firearms* (through sells only) - in no order:
    The S&W M&P Shield
    The Glock 43/43X
    The SIG P365
_So it is more _*_in 2020_*_ which 9mm Parabellum/9x19 firearm is the better _"sub-compact'_
    After owning three (3) G26s, one G42 (.380ACP), one G43 and one G43X, I can say
the performance (reliability, manual of arms, accuracy) is the same but...
    - the Glock 26 is easier to hold - logically more surface area to be in contact with.
    - the Glock 26 is easier to shoot faster - logically heavier pistol so it is more stable.
    - the Glock 43/43Xs advantage of being lighter in weight makes for all day carry comfort.
    - the Glock 43/43X being smaller is much easier to conceal.
    - the role of a concealed carry pistol (a true sub-compact) is fulfilled in the G43/43X much
much, more than the G26s outdated design.
*_Of note:_* Last month I took a _CCW/CHP class_ to get a concealed carry license in my new state.
In my class saw for concealed carry,
    - nine (9) folks with 9mms,
    - one (1) small .45 ACP and,
    - one (1) .380 ACP
    - one (1) unknown caliber/I did not see it closely
_No one was using .40 S&W anymore (at least for concealed carry)._
users out of 12 people - the limit due to COVID-19.
Remember in life and handguns everything is a *compromise.*
    God bless.

Great job and I'm sorry you have been demonetized for the most part. I strongly suggest you open a Patreon account if you haven't already and plug it in your videos.
That said, I've had a bunch of Gen3, 4, and 5 Glocks over the years, including three double stack Baby Glocks of different generations, and in my opinion, the G26 is Glock's best gun for concealed carry.
However, I sold my Gen5 G26 recently and I don't think I am going back to one unless they reintroduce the finger grooves with the Gen5 trigger and other enhancements, and although I shoot left handed, and love the option of ambi controls, I am not a fan of how far these protrude compared with previous generations. They tend to get in the way of my thumbs more.
I'd almost rather get a Gen4 again, but I don't like taking steps backwards, and I have other guns for concealed carry. Glock, if you're listening, get those finger grooves back on baby Glocks. I don't care about the G19 and larger guns, but the baby Glocks should retain them. For some reason I don't have the problem with them that I had on my G19's (in fact I prefer them without the grooves), and I think it has to do with the hump which slightly realigns my fingers.
I think the finger grooves help mitigate recoil better than not having them on the G26, G27, and G33 pistols. Don't get me wrong, the Gen5 G26 shoots great, but the G26 shoots better in my hands with the finger grooves, and there was a reason they added them first on the G26 before adopting them to the other models later on.
I am not a fan of the slick nDLC finish on Gen5's. They look better than any finish in the past in my opinion, but I'd almost rather put up with additional wear than having them that slick.
Lastly, and this will sound strange, but I feel the Gen5 trigger is safer after doing a swipe test with my index finger trying to actuate the trigger by quickly swiping it down the side of the trigger guard. I can't do it on this pistol, but I can do it on any Gen3 or Gen5 Glock. That said, I have to admit, my Gen4 G26 trigger was a more accurate trigger. I know that goes against the grain, but I tested these pistols extensively, and I have no doubt that I experience more front sight disruption with the Gen5 than the Gen4 in my hands (in fact, I rarely ever experience in a Gen4 G26 or G33). Pulling the triggers tens of thousands of times on these guns and I have no doubt, and I mean NO doubt, the Gen4 is a little more accurate (trigger wise). I do like the idea of the Marksman barrel, and that's where I am in this pistol.
So to summarize for Glock, change the coating, reintroduce the finger grooves, improve the trigger consistency (to put its accuracy on par with that of the Gen4 trigger while maintaining its safety values), and either leave off the ambi slide stop controls or minimize them to the outward dimensions of the Gen4.

I used to carry Glock 17, so my backup was the 26. In my new job we carry S&W mP9 M-2.0. I’m still carrying the 26 as a backup but as you know, magazines don’t fit. What should I get to replace the 26 as a backup?

@J Helmsing, have you thought about using the X-Grip mag sleeves with the G26? I use them with the 15 round (G19) mags and I did a side by side comp between the G43x and the G26. The G26 with the 15 round mag w/ X-Grip is still a fraction shorter in the grip than the G43x.

WeeeThPpl there’s nothing wrong with that I think it’s better than a 17 because it fits 19 size mags and 17 mags and 34, and if you need a magwell for better grip that works too. The longer the gun you have someone can grab it easier

Good review. I too am very impressed with the G26. When I first got my G26, I thought it might be difficult to shoot because of the short grip. Much to my surprise, and inexplicably, I actually shot better with the 26, than with the 19 and 17. It's a great little gun and I like the interchangeability of accessories with other Glocks. I use G17 magazines as my spares when carrying the G26.
