First time I’ve seen John and I think I’ve watched 40 or more videos. Very cool that you and your son share this passion and time together. My mother always goes with me to the range. She was a crack shot herself, but she’s older now and “retired” from it. She is wary of my wanting to shoot, but that’s probably because she doesn’t want me to get hurt. Moms. However, she really enjoys watching me have fun. The range makes me forget about my disabled back and I think that my smile makes her heart happy as well. Sorry to get mushy, but I can relate to the parent/child bonding of shooting.

I think it’s just that you hear so much about Glock perfection. Glock this, Glock that. Glock Glock Glock. However most people that buy Glocks end up spending several hundred more dollars on them. When you don’t need to do that with other manufacturers. The sights aren’t good. The grip isn’t the best. The grip angle is wrong. Trigger isn’t the best. Others look better. On and on. Having said all that still to this day, all other polymer striker fired handguns are compared to Glock. Hell I think my next gun may be a Gen 5 mos g19.

+ArtisanTony Yep, this video will make Glock haters throw up, but this is the pistol that causes me to consider some of the characteristics of other very fine pistols negative, such as extra thick slide, large controls that are larger than necessary, double-to-single action triggers, etc. If it's bigger than the G19 in any way, I lean back toward the g19.

Have to say, the 19 is my favorite carry. It was my first but my daily carry at the office is a single stack 9. The 19 fits me in all respects. I can easily ring the steel or waste the paper at center mass. I wish I owned more guns that fit this well. There are ALOT of excellent guns out there, but for me, I take my trusted friend along as often as possible. Even if you have no intention of giving up your favorite, the 19 is definitely one you too could call friend. Thanks for all the excellent videos. I hope none of us EVER have to defend our lives, but thankful we can. God bless.

I agree with John, it is a functional gun that is reliable and great for concealed carry. Love your videos and straightforward opinion. Greatest selling point for me is the reliability and watching you peg targets demonstrates for me that the gun 'works'. As far as the grip, like John said, not a glove, it's a gun and I just want it to do its job. Thanks guys, really appreciate your time and experience you provide. I was going to purchase a 17 but after watching your videos, going with the 19 gen 4 and going to get my concealed carry. I currently have a Springfield Armory XD9 and it's great for shooting but I wouldn't want to carry it so going with the 19. Hope Glock appreciates you. Really trust your opinion. Thanks again!

I came into my first Glock (19 g3) about the time this vid came out. By fluke. A guy I worked with needed some $. Before that day you couldnt have given me one, and I had full intentions of of just trading it off for something I enjoy more. (Revolver) .Im old school. All my semi autos with the exeption of .22lr target handguns had to have a hammer.Even though at the time my ccw was still a revolver.(357 mod 66 no dash 4 in. I bought new. Well, for some reason I decided to shoot that G19 gen3 one day at a fellow revolver buddys backyard shooting range. I rang steel with every pull of the trigger for 4 full mags. I never did that with a revolver to this day with the same amount of rounds. As bad as I hate to admit, that unattractive gun won my handgun heart that day. I still own and truck gun it, and a gen 4- 19, and. 4 other Glocks. A 19c is on the bucket list. And Im not sorry guys. Life is good!

Hickok.45, thank you for inspiring me to rediscover the Glock Model 19. I bought a Gen2 back in 1994, and had foolishly dismissed it as "only" having been a 9mm pistol. At the time, my favorite cartridges had been the .45 ACP and the .357 Magnum. Scrolling about the Internet, I happened upon several of your videos detailing the virtues of the Glock 19. I took the gun back out, dusted it off, and took it to the range. It is now among my very favorite pistols. Job well done, sir.

Plopped down the money for a G19 yesterday.
Many gnus later I've finally purchased what most people buy as their first semi auto.
Aftermarket played a big part in my decision. I bought a Raven Concealment Eidolon holster because it looks like an amazing system to conceal the 19, also ordered a set of the rubberized Talon grips.

My Gen 2 made in March of 1997 is still my favorite 9mm and as I become more weight sensitive I find myself carrying it almost exclusively. I don’t see me replacing it with anything else anytime in the near future and I’m quite sure one by of my youngster relatives will probably be carrying it far into the future after I’m gone. Do I own other pistols? You bet and I’ve carried each of them over the years but I kept coming back to my 19.

I 100% agree with Hickok45,,, the GLOCK 19 Gen 4 is my favorite handgun. My kids bought me my first GLOCK 19 Gen 4 for Father's Day in 2015 & it's been 100% reliable & I have put thousands of rounds & different ammo thru it since Father's Day last year & NOT 1 hiccup or anything. Thanks Hickok45 for continuing the videos.

I have watched this video I don't how many times. I already wanted this gun, but you sold it. Just bought it a week ago. Plan on shooting it this next weekend. I want more ammo before I go. I bought it at Birmingham Alabama Pistol Wholesale . Awesome store. I got it in Army Green. Thanks again Hickok45. The folks at this store is just like you. Good honest folks. My Dad died in 2009 knowing I wanted a Glock. He would have watched your videos over and over. Should have bought it years ago. It was not cheap. Your video sold me this gun. My Wife said good Lord that is a lot for a pistol. I said no I now have a pistol. I'm 47 and I have 2 boys with carry permits also and both of them are switching to the Glock 19 Gen4. Thanks again Buddy.

miz1543 , I have a gen3 Glock 20 and like it a lot. I’ve run hand loads of155 gr. at 1050 FPS to 180 gr. at 1200 FPS with 100% reliability. I have less than 600 rounds through it but it shares range time with 19 other guns. I wish the SF model was available when I got mine back in ‘98. Ironically, I am considering a Glock 19 myself.
I reside in California, but I want to thank you for your service to your community 🇺🇸.

What a great summary on the Glock 19. I admit I'm a latecomer to the Glockaide, mainly because of your videos, Mr. Hickok45. I had written them off several years ago because although I respect their reliability and simplicity, the grips felt so horrible to me, and the triggers were so variable. But based on watching your videos, I recently checked into the Gen 4 Glocks, and bought both a 19 and 41. They are different, less refined than some of my other firearms, but simple, reliable and fun to shoot. And the Gen 4's fit my (smallish) hand much better, point more naturally, and I do like the new grip texture a lot (though I have added Talon grips to them). So thank you for helping me keep an open mind (not my strong suit at my advanced age) and encouraging me to revisit the Glocks. I now carry my Glock 19 Gen 4 or Springfield XDs 9mm, depending on the circumstances, and love them both dearly. On the range guns, I'm still going back and forth (and back and forth, and back and forth) on the XDM 5.25 and Glock 41 in .45 ACP. Very different firearms, but both having their points. Then again, when I want to break the tie, I shoot my Colt Gold Cup series 70 - as close to perfection as has ever been designed. Thank you John Browning. And thank you Hickok45.

I left a comment on my g19 and how was afraid to field strip it. The g21 I had I field strip, put it back together, and would not shoot semi auto. I had to rack a round every time. The guy I sold it to bought new mags, and it works flawless. I only had the one mag. It must of been the mag. Im such a rookie. Great video.
