In a way, I agree, in some cases though I think this is a good idea. If you have a vintage watch but want to wear it and protect its condition (especially if the eye is mint), these make a lot of sense. I've seen this a lot in the car industry for rare vintage cars, a lot of the time they apply a paint protection film. Since if the car's paint is in excellent condition, you want to protect it to avoid the fragile paint getting damaged. Especially in high wear areas. In my opinion however if you use these on a modern watch it doesn't make sense, as long as you are careful all that needs to be done when you resell it is have it serviced and polished at an AD.
Lots of people don’t like this. I found your review great. I agree with people you should just wear your watches. But I put this on my meteorite Pepsi. Figured I wanted my watch looking prime. no way I would ever put on something like this to dull the looks of my collection. if someone cannot enjoy their purchases comfortably without worrying about value, it means they made an irresponsible purchase for their given financial position at that particular time. watches are not investments; they are toys we buy for fun with disposable entertainment budget. if someone is so worried about tiny scratches, don't buy the watch, invest the money until you are in a financial position to enjoy the watch when value of this watch is no longer meaningful to you. i am not saying this to show off, i've personally passed on many watches because i couldn't comfortably write off the price as unnoticeable.
