Totally lost with the comments on here. Guy buys new Lamborghini or Porsche and the first thing most owners do is get the paintwork ppf protected. This is no different.
Ive fitted over 100 of these kits for friends and associates from Invishield, Styx, and others.
The key is to add a micro amount of fairy liquid for lubricity and we are talking dab of a finger amount and always dip the tweezers in the solution before raising the part to apply, as this eliminates any marks on the underside of the part and also it won’t stick.
Always pat the part, never push with the tweezers and never try and push out air bubbles, over 2 days they will be sucked away by the compression of the film on the surface.
Ive protected AP Royal Oak chrono full bracelets and many precious metal pieces and if done correctly, it’s impossible to see from over 2 feet.
To me I understand the purist thought, but if this is something that’s a longterm investment, imagine after 10 years pulling the stickers off and you have an absolute immaculate John Mayer underneath…
NEVER use coatings, I ceramic coat Supercars and HyperCars and like this on paintwork, any error and it’s not coming off…
You mark a front fender and you peel the film off with no damage underneath and apply a new bit of film, hence additional parts for when you do damage a link, the film will be marked but not underneath, so you just reapply a new part. Who wants to keep polishing a watch and devaluing it?

While I’m not likely to add protective stickers to my watch, I have to say I don’t understand the visceral antagonism some express to doing so. If the stickers don’t affect the look of the watch I like, the watch might get more beaten up with hard use without them - we all agree that watches are to be worn - and the stickers can postpone refinishing and protect the appearance of and investment in the watch, what’s wrong with using them? I can’t “really” appreciate my watch and wear it the way it was designed to be worn unless I do so without stickers? Seriously? The objections seem to me to be “purist” for purity’s sake. Great episode, Avi. You’ve got more patience than I!

No, I've worn my GMT Master 16750 for 40 years, 24/7, 365 for the first 22 years and 30+ years as my one watch. Tim Mosso of Watchbox told me that if I had told him that the watch was kept in a box for 40 years, he'd believe it. So wear, enjoy and maintain your watch and stop worrying about a few scratches. Watches can be polished.

I use this on all my rolex watches. The start to peel eventually though. One hard rub against the lugs and the film starts to peel from the corners. Still, it's a good product. Better than the competition

I get the concept, but isn't part of the joy of owning a gold watch the tactile properties of touching the gold? Doesn't it feel a bit plasticy if it's covered in film? I'd be tempted to go bareback

recently i was trying to trade in my 126613lb for a 126710blro comes with a jubilee bracelet. Initially when the watch technician inspecting my watch was saying that there were some scratches on my sapphire crystal and my bezel, he said they will deduct about $700 dollars from the agreed price to make up for the damage, so i told him to go ahead to remove the protection film. And to my good surprise, both my watch crystal and bezel look as good as new (those scratches were on the protection film) and the deal went through smoothly. Of course i have some watches that i have no intention to sell or exchange for another watch, but there are some other watches in my collection that i might consider selling and trade in later, so protection film actually worth the investment from my experience.

I’d say if it’s your daily watch and you put stickers on it, then it’s quite redundant. But if it’s a really rare piece and it’s not for everyday wear but for once in a while but you still want to experience it but not leave scratches on it then it’s all good. You need to have a core reason and decision. I have a watch in my collection that I don’t wear because from the start I made my decision to not wear and put scratches on it because it’s a display piece for my graduation. And I wear the hell out of my daily wearer. Don’t get me wrong, I love my daily wear but that is the watch that I trust the most
