That hat looks incredible. Absolutely perfect. 👌. Im obsessed with the Destiny jacket. It was a beautiful custom made jacket. That old school capeskin style leather it has is my favorite of all the films.
Thank you! Lots of hats going on! Screencapped Crusade hat in the thumbnail. Advintage Doom hat in the video. And Herbert Johnson in the final look. Haha
That jacket looks fantastic. I’m considering either buying that one next or the Last Crusade distressed jacket from Wested. Both of them are great pieces though.
Very nice jacket. Can't beat the shape & collar of that classic Hero jacket though. Love the way the Destiny jacket looks though. Good to see you upload again!
Could you do a comparison of this jacket with the pre distressed lamb jacket just curious to see the two in a side by side comparison in the same lighting to see the color differences.
It’s very similar to their pre-distressed lamb. Thicker and a little heavier but not by much. Still comfortable, even if it isn’t freezing outside or with a sweater underneath.
Great video Kirk, well done! I remember one of your first videos reviewing a hat when you were but a youngling, look at you now! ANYway... Let’s talk armholes: I find they’re quite tight or small around the upper arm. I have a Wested Hero in Goat, with gussets, size 40 to eliminate some bulk, but it's a bit tight, and it's just a weirdly shaped jacket for my weirdly shaped body, perhaps. Do the gussets help do you reckon, or do they just make the arm-body opening smaller than without? I desire a slimmer look, but you're also a svelte dude and a bit taller than me; I'm just bang on 6'00" but I've a thicker sturdier build, so maybe I need a size 44... just trying to avoid the boxy look. I've consulted Trent Ryan's and Daniel Riser's videos also, Trent's would be the size 44 I should probably go for, and Daniel's is a tiny size 36, which gives the desired appearance... maybe there's just no avoiding the "blouse" vibe with the bigger sizes... Thanks very much indeed, keep it up! I'm nervous to jump on board the Indy Tribute Train myself, but I really ought!
Great questions and comment over all buddy! Thank you. If you're nervous bout any sizing, definitely hit up Mick at Wested. He was very helpful with both myself and Trent during our ordering process. That being said, I feel like the gussets don't necessarily add or take away any size from the armhole itself. It does however add increased mobility which I think adds to an overall more comfortable fit. I normally wear 44's however, this one, I ordered a 46. I'm around 6 foot, 2 inches tall and 190lbs. I probably could have gone longer in the sleeves but, I don't mind them as is. This DoD jacket overall fits looser than the Temple of Doom jackets I normally wear in both the body and the arms. My bicep area is (on a good day lol) around 17 inches and I can still easily wear this jacket with a hoodie or layers without feeling too "bunched up." I hope that helps! Fortune and glory!
Oh you're welcome, of course! Great intel, thanks for the extra insights. Yeh it's the "street wise" shell I think, right? So I'm hoping that fixes up my armhole issues from the "Raiders Hero" cut I have... Wo! Big Bloke! Shredding those Temple O' Doom arms nicely! I'm chasing you at 15" biceps, on a good day, hahha! All very good to know, I have confidence in my choices now, but also feeling like I'll have to join the party and do a review video once it arrives! I'm in Australia, and postage is a killer, it'd be nice to just visit the Wested shed and actually try everything on, all the cuts and shapes, and figure out my perfect jacket measurements. Although, Trent's & Daniel's extremely pleased and satisfying reactions bode well for this DoD Jacket. Thanks again, champion! Fortune and Glory!
@@souvdish Yes! Please do make a video if you go for it! They're fun jackets. My DoD has been my go-to for daily wear. It certainly looks rugged and adventurous, even if I'm just running to the grocery store. Ooof. Yeah, sending things to Australia is rough on the postage. I sent a hat to a friend of mine in Melbourne and my goodness... an unholy amount of $ for shipping. My best advice would be to really take your time on the measurements and don't base your order on the measurements for your previous jackets but do thorough new ones for this jacket. Look and where and how the components land on Harrison and then approximate them for yourself.
@@kirkbrackmann6385 - oh, Christos Salaoras by the way, nice to virtually meet ya & chat Indy jackets! Especially with larger sized boxes, even if they're as light as a hat, unholy cashola is right! @@kirkbrackmann6385 That's helpful! I'm 6'1" and when I got my Wested 20+ years ago, I was a fit 195 lbs with a big chest and arms (back then at least) and went with a 46 that I had to have the waist brought in a bit as I had a 32" waist. Now I'm more like 220 and it still fits but I sure don't have to snug in the waist anymore, lol. Mine still drapes and looks great, but it is think lambskin and I've ripped it three different times, but I have a good retired tailor who loves a block away and as It is an Indy jacket, the repaired damage makes it look even better! I even sent it back 6 years ago for a new lining and some "hero" changes and updates. That being said, it's time to get a new one, so have been debating which one to get and which size. I'm going to have my tailor do an updated measurement before I order a new one, but suspect I will still land on a 46 but sure as hell won't need to bring the waist in!
I don’t believe the legacy hide has any ribbing. They won’t come weathered but they will weather accurately with a little work (especially the legacy crusade)
I based a lot of the measurements off of previous jackets I’d ordered but I would reference Wested’s size guide and if you have any questions, Mick from Wested is a great guy to reach out to with questions!
Omg I am so jealous to see how lucky you are to have such beautiful Indy gear! I love all of your videos and updates on the best Indy gear to buy. Unfortunately cuz I have autistic I’m not allowed to work and make money so my dad gives me $100 a month to spend on whatever I want! I’m currently trying to save my money for my very first Indy hat but I have no clue what to by for a hat. I really love the raiders hat so do you have any advice for me as I try to find the best hat I can possibly get? Keep the leather crackin my brother!
Hi, Kirk! I've been watching your videos for a while now. Great content. Can you help me with something real quick? I'm thinking of getting a Wested jacket, but I'm from Brazil and we pay a lot of tax when importing stuff from other countries. However, I have relatives living in the US. Do you usually pay tax when you buy jackets from wested? Or does it just come in the mail? Thanks, man!
Looks great! I have a very old Wested that, when you scuff it, has that sort of grey ugly undertone, not a brown or tan. Anyone have any idea how to warm that up?
Absolutely! Eco Flow leather dye on the weathered areas works a treat! Look up Joey’s tour of props and artifacts here on RUclips. Joey breaks down what he used to bring out and “warm up” the weathering on his jackets!
I love my wested destiny jacket. The hide is thick, (that's a good thing) and soft. Best lambskin I've ever felt. It's an incredible jacket!

Great video man! Have you checked out their cotton versions of the Raiders and Last Crusade? Looking to buy one of those but can't tell which
Great video. Love the jacket as is right out of the box.
Nice video & jacket! The leather seems to be washed/ striated lambskin, but they dont mention anything on the website..
Great jacket
Great video ! This is a gold mine of information. Can you do ALL of Westes Indy jackets haha ?
Can you explain please the water treatment? I’m new to this . Love the jacket 😊
Could you do a comparison of this jacket with the pre distressed lamb jacket just curious to see the two in a side by side comparison in the same lighting to see the color differences.
Thoughts on the lamb wested used for this? Some other early reviews describe it as heavier than wested's other lambskin options.
It’s very similar to their pre-distressed lamb. Thicker and a little heavier but not by much. Still comfortable, even if it isn’t freezing outside or with a sweater underneath.
