Getting “Indy Fit” In 3 Easy & Fun Steps

This was going to be a “day in the life” vlog, but I didn’t get enough footage so I made this instead. Before doing this or any other fitness or nutrition plan, always consult your physician. Also, while being active and working out are important, nutrition and proper recovery are what bring the results! That said, this is an example of how a cosplayer (like me) can stay fit in the spirit of my...

I watched this just after watching some of your Indy videos. Good job man. You treat those snakes with the respect they deserve no matter how dangerous they are. Keep doing what you are doing and inspire others to do the same!
@@raptorman6794 Thank you so much!
Hi Kirk. I just came across your channel. I’ve been an Indy fan since I was a little kid watching it with my grandparents. I’ve wanted to get into Indy cosplay and I was wondering if you had any recommendations specifically with whips. I’m a college student so I don’t have a lot of spending money, but I want a quality whip for the price. What would you recommend? Also I love your content with herps. I’m an environmental biology major and Indy helped inspire me to follow my passion for reptiles as ironic as that may be so I’m glad to see someone else that is doing the same stuff.
That's awesome! My love for snakes/reptiles is actually how I found Indy as a kid (ironically as it may be.) Thank you for the kind words! And as for whips, if you are looking for one to crack and master without breaking the bank, I'd recommend a nylon whip to start with. Chayton from okie_bullwhips on IG made some fantastic ones for me that I use in parades and such. If you are looking for something that is more for just cosplay, Todd's Costumes and Magnoli Props both make beautiful "belt hanger" whips that can be cracked here and there but are mostly for cosplay. Hope that helps!
haha indy learnt not to wear the bag underneath his jacket after the last crusade fiasco where his strap got caught in indy 4 and 5, it does look more iconic with the bag under the jacket though
@@ddr80 I know that is our fan cannon as to why the strap changes between crusade and skull but if I were a gambling man, I think Harrison didn’t want to have to take the jacket on and off to remove the bag between takes. Haha Besides, the bag magically lets him go on the tank in the same way it magically grabbed the bag strap.
Dude you're nailing it!
Nice. I’d like to learn. Very cool. Any decent Indy whips you can suggest that won’t break the bank? Thanks.
@@javierdiaz9497 Definitely! For starters, I always recommend nylon whips like the one in this video. A much more affordable option starting out and tough enough to survive any mistakes in the learning phase. Chayton from Okie_Bullwhips (formerly CP Bullwhips) on Instagram makes great nylon whips.
Great costume, i love the Look on Jacket an Hat!
That's cool, But you should see me in the kitchen with a Hand towel.
thats cool as hell
@@eakmadashma Thank you!
Black folk be leaving the public park you
I do a few cracks, I have two 8 foot whips, one 8 plait cow and one 16 plait NEW indi kangaroo but only do 3 or 4 cracks but mainly I hit targets! I am not able to do some I see due to my rotator cuffs. too bad I can't post my channel. www.youtube.com/@markanderson2322/videos
I think the Penman looks more proportioned to your head and shoulders, very nice fedora. They are all really nice.
She was like “what the HELL!? 🤨” when you dropped the rat in 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome!
Hardcore indy fan. Always wanted to get my own costume where would you recommend I start ? What gear should I get first
@@UGeniuss great question! First I would recommend joining some of the cosplay Facebook pages like California Jones, Indiana Jones Cosplay Group and Raiders of the lost Cosplay. Great recourses. Then, figure out what movie’s look you’d like to go for. Or if you want to do a general / amalgamation look, figure out which hat, jacket…etc are your favorites. I always recommend going top to bottom. Start with the hat, then the jacket, shirt, pants, bag, belts, whip and boots.
Please tell me the name of your indy hat. I just started out and yours looks almost perfect
@@UGeniuss this one is an Advintage Temple of Doom hat in sable beaver.
@kirkbrackmann6385 thanks for replying so quick. Do you have any tips for a newbie. On what the first of piece of indy gear I should look into ?
Fantastic video!!

Wow this was great. The cross of Coronado looks so real. Thanks guy
"You know how long I've been looking for that?" - "All your life?" "All my life."
Hey dear Kirk, wow, that is really a beautiful collectors item, this cross of Coronado. It also is looking quite worthy and well crafted, and it fits so very nicely in your shelf. I especially loved seeing your happyness, when you unboxed it. Of course I also enjoyed looking at you in your full Indy gear. - A wonderful short video, very enjoyable to watch! Yeah, really "fortune and glory", bro; peace and kindest greetings from Switzerland.

Dark Matter Props is a great prop maker! I have some of their Fallout stuff and they always have great attention to detail.
That belongs in a museum.
So do you! I believe was the next line. Fantastic film. Could not have been better!
I have their version of the Cross too. It really is one of my favourite Indy props🙌🏻
That thing looks dope. I kinda want one after watching your video.
I have been meaning to get a cross of Coronado for my cosplay
Amazing weathering Kirk and great video. Crucially the jacket really suits you.
I’m just about to order the standard as opposed to legacy Last Crusade from Wested on the basis, that I believe this will be a better fit for me than the legacy, which was built around Harrison Ford. The legacy cut looks very good on you though. FYI I live in the south of the UK and had the pleasure of meeting original jacket designer Peter Botwright on a number of occasions. He told me that the larger collar on the Last Crusade was a fluke resulting from the fact that he forgot the original spec on the Raiders collar and just specified what he thought would work when putting together the pattern for the Last Crusade.
Dude that is a nice crusade fedora. Kick ass!
@@jamescrumbs Thank you!
Nice video
Hey Kirk, love your Indy videos. Any advice on what Wested Leather Raiders style to get , lamb, goat or cowhide!? Cheers!
@@shamrockballs1066 Their legacy Raiders is a very nice hide that would make for a great “truck chase” jacket. Otherwise, the pre distressed or washed lamb are great options too.
@kirkbrackmann6385 Thanks Kirk, I'll keep that in mind.
That was really helpful! Thanks. I just got my own synthetic bullwhip
I have one that I just traded a bench made knife for it is new in the box and it says 1991 on the tag so I’m sure it’s the first production run. It has the box and the paperwork and everything.
Hey Kirk, here’s an idea for some Indy videos-mixing and matching different Indy looks. You mentioned Mystery of the Blues (fantastic episode by the way), but maybe ideas to think about a hot weather Last Crusade look, or fun ways to maybe combine Skulls and Destiny…that kind of thing. Or maybe even mixing his adventure gear with elements of his professor’s tweeds-like we sort of saw in Temple.
Beautiful jacket!!!! And fantastic job weathering it. Yet another reason I regret living in Florida-I couldn’t justify buying an Indy jacket! Luckily an Indy fedora is still a plenty useful down here.
Love how dedicated you are to this great character. I’ve been a fan ever since seeing Raiders as a kid with my folks at the local theater.
