  • Hello Raiders, Doomers, Crusaders, Scullys, and Dialers!
    The Wested Legacy Last Crusade jacket might be the coolest jacket Wested has ever made! The undertones are perfect! But Wested doesn't sell these jackets with accurate distressing, leaving us on our own to figure out how to make these jackets look screen accurate!
    Before you throw in the towel, I've got good news! It isn't that hard and, hopefully, this video will set your mind at ease and get you distressing your own Wested Legacy jacket,
    The principles in this video can be applied to any leather jacket, and I'm not an expert with years of experience either! Just a fan who wanted a cool looking, screen-accurate Last Crusade jacket!
    What you'll need:
    5-pack of kitchen scrubbers
    A razor knife
    Some whiskey to give you the courage to put a razor blade on your jacket
    and, of course, an Indiana Jones jacket!
    If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on instagram @riserindy

    This is probably the best Indy weathering video I have seen. The results look amazing. It must have taken quite a bit of time to do that.
    I think the constant starting and stopping is key to custom work in general. You go too far (the tunnel vision you mentioned) and you can't undo it.
    I dont know about using the craft knife though! I think that is a step too far for me even though I have many different Indy jackets.

      Using the craft knife was definitely scary but it’s the best way I could find to get the finger details that the scrub brush was too broad for.

    Hey there. Question: I have the regular lamb raiders jacket and I tried using sandpaper to put some scuffs on it. To my surprise, underneath is a gray color. Very shocking. Another person suggested brown or tan shoe polish on the marks but that could potentially dry the leather and ruin it. I'm very confused as to what to do and would take any suggestion from you that would help not ruin the jacket. Thanks so much

  • @ThEmAnOnAmIsSiOn100

    Be careful of sanding on the threads. Once those break, the whole jacket will unravel slowly.

      @ThEmAnOnAmIsSiOn100 that makes sense. When I studied the Destiny jacket at El Capitan the distressing mostly looked topical, like it was painted.

      Every jacket will have different undertones. My advice is to always test in an inconspicuous place like the inside of a pocket flap.

    Hi Daniel, thanks for this amazing video, it's so helpfull! I'm considering buying this jacket from wested but I'm worried about the measure and size. I'm 1.77 cm high and athletic (but not too much, my chest is between 38 and 39 inches and my waist is 34). I had the opportunity to try a 42 Raiders standard jacket but I felt it quite loose especially the waist part of the jacket when it was zipped up, and had the under arms "flying squirrel effect"...😅 I would like mine to be closer to the armpits. What would you recommand ? Buying this jacket but in what size ? Or go for a destiny model? But are the sizes the same ? (depending how the jacket is cut) thank you for your answer and sorry for my english, I'm writing from France🙏🏻

    • @riserindy
      @riserindy  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
      If you still have that size 42 Raiders jacket I would measure its pit-to-pit and then determine what you would want it to be then order accordingly. I want to caution you about sleeve and length measurement on this jacket… I would order a little longer than you think. I had to take mine to a tailor to get the sleeves extended because they were too short. This jacket is a weird cut.
      Should you do the destiny instead? That’s a personal preference. I think it’s easier to get the right fit for a Destiny than the LC legacy jacket because of the cut, but if you like the look of an LC jacket you should get an LC jacket.

    • @maskfpv113

      @@riserindy thank you very much for your answer, I didn't realize how important is the Pit2Pit measure, actually it seams almost more important than the chest size, no? And did you see à big difference between hero model and legacy model? In terms of size and cut I mean? I'm sorry to ask you all of these questions😅 It's sometime hard to have honest and clear answers about these jackets😶‍🌫️ Well thank you again very much Daniel🙏🏻👍🏻

    • @riserindy
      @riserindy  10 месяцев назад +1

      @maskfpv113 I can’t tell you the difference between a legacy and a hero because I don’t own a hero but I do know each jacket is different and wested doesn’t offer a lot of help when it comes to knowing the differences. The best you can do is measure whatever you have and try to compare its sizing chart on the website to the sizing chart or the jacket you want to buy.
      Or you can spend more money and get something from Steele & Jones where they work hard to make sure your jacket is the perfect fit.
      I have two review videos on my RUclips for Steele & Jones jackets.
      Best of luck to you.

You can try using acetone to get those more stubborn areas but sometimes the way the hide is tanned or dyed will change how it reacts to distressing techniques. Having seen screen used Destiny jackets in person, I’m convinced they died the undertones synthetically as well.
