Westead is about 3 miles from where I live. A little place right on the very edge of London becoming Kent. You wouldn't belive that such an iconic jacket came from the little hut. 😁 I wear mine whilist driving 1944 Dodge WC51 and WC54. three classics together.
Cool video. I have a washed lamb skin Raiders from Wested. That's the one on I try all kind of treatments. But my favorite is a Steele and Jones Raiders in cowhide. And if I had to have another one, it would be a Steele and Jones Last Crusade heavily weathered.
@@MickeyLeeBukowski they are amazing. I bought two, one unweathered, and one I weathered. The leather is unlike the leather in the other Wested jackets. It's exclusive to the Destiny jackets. Do yourself a favor, and get this jacket.

My endgame is to have a really solid jacket that kinda reflects all the movies, like he's had the same jacket all these years and he's taken care of it and repaired it here and there. Maybe a few "bullet hole" repairs and such.

Love my Wested - have a second-hand one that I found via Ebay (Raiders), also have a Todd's (which is, likewise, awesome, though it just doesn't weather well at all), the Steele & Jones is just perfect (I have the Tank chase offering in cowhide that they offered a while back), and also a US Wings in Texas Steerhide (which is a bit too big, but just feels fantastic to wear). Speaking of wives, I've done my best to hide the existence of that Wested Legacy line while pondering the fact that I don't have a Temple-version of the jacket....shhhhh......
The struggle is REAL. And honestly, with the sheer volume of my wife's vintage dresses I don't know if we have room for another Indy jacket in our closet!
Great video! I bought my first wested last christmas, TOD lambskin. Im so tempted to pick up a Raiders, but thinking of pre-distressed. I want something a bit more durable. Any advice on that thought?
I don't really like the look of the pre-distressed to be honest... just looks a bit fake to me. Kinda like the "Skull" jacket. I like the look of the Washed Lamb better. But I understand Lamb can be delicate. Steele and Jones sell distressed jackets in cowhide if you are looking for something bulletproof. They are a bit more expensive but they make a great Indy jacket!

I'm not really an expert, but I do have 5 old Westeds. My LC was something I complained on the boards about, because it was basically a Raiders jacket with press studs added. Not the totally different LC collar and pockets, etc. A while later, they changed the LC design. To me, your jacket looks like an early 2000's one. Maybe 2002, 2003?
Unfortunately because I’m such a fat short guy I can’t find a Indy jacket that can fit me, but I’m autistic so I don’t know how to use a measuring tape so I don’t know how to see what size I am. I ware a 2XL sweatshirt but these jackets don’t seem to size this way…..any advice for me!? I’m open to all suggestions your expert opinion please? Your jackets are unbelievable 😮
You're not alone! I think all of us have trouble measuring ourselves. It's usually helpful to take measurements off a jacket you already have that fits you well and start there. But what might be even better is to take the list of measurements you need to a tailor and have them measure you. They will probably charge you a small fee but it's really the best way to do it. I'd recommend that for anyone.
How would you recommend doing the measurements? Would you do it exactly to size or a bit bigger? I want it to fit me as it would Harrison Ford in screen accuracy. Cheers
Sounds like you want to order one of the Legacy jackets then, as those use the patterns used on Harrison for the films. When I sent in my measurements, I used a jacket that fit well to base them off. I like my sleeves a little on the long side so I added a little extra there. Length is going to depend on the jacket you want. The Temple jacket seems a little longer than say the Raiders so I made sure to account for that.
I’m looking to get a temple of doom jacket i gained some weight back after I loss 60 pounds and went up 30 pounds. I’m 5”9 or just a bit under and around 220 pounds with a 48 chest and a beer belly lol. You think a 50 is the way to go? Also my raiders jacket is just too tight at a size 44 so I’m probably gonna sell it. It’s a wested distressed hide size 44.
How would you personally compare the cut of the TOD normal Vs legacy? I hear the legacy is more accurate but may not be the best fit unless you are Harrison Ford….
Well the TOD I have was a custom order, as there was no OTR version of it at the time (2016). That has changed since then. I have pretty standard measurements (40.5 inch chest, 33 inch waist) so I found the Legacy in a 42 fit me very well. I don't know what HF's measurements were at the time of TOD, and I know he bulked up for that movie more than the others. When I wear the jacket I can see it has fairly broad shoulders and a narrower waist, than say -- the LC jacket. But I'm happy with it. I should have included a pic of me wearing it -- my bad!

My Wested Destiny jacket has amazing leather. Thick and soft. Beautiful undertones. It's the best indy jacket.
I haven't seen one up close and personal yet! They look great in the pictures I've seen. I love the weathering.

@@DennisEmerick Wested does custom jobs! I'd say the DoD jacket is a pretty good "conglomeration" of the earlier ones.

When I bought my first Wested jacket I called them and talked to Mr Botwright and he suggested the washed goat skin. It didin't need any disstressing.
The one I had wasn't washed goat and it didn't weather the same way the lamb does. And...the lamb is screen accurate.

The Temple of Doom jacket is cut pretty slim, so if you think a size up would help you, that's probably the way to go!

The TOD jacket is pretty beat up. That's the one I try to emulate.
