One very helpful thing: no matter what shampoo you use, always rinse very well. VERY WELL. Soap and/or detergent residue can irritate the skin. Also, make sure you don't let hair stay damp too long, especially the nape of the neck where longer hair might sit on top and keep moisture there. Tie hair back and up when exercising and sweating, that's moisture, too. Good luck, everyone!
The time I experienced hairfall, I did all the following to successfully reduce it - .. Make a habit of doing massage for your scalp into your routine. .. Do not use very hot water when washing your hair. .. Shield your hair from excessive sweat. .. Use a dual tooth neem wood comb to brush out wet hair. .. Cut down on your sugar and processed food consumption. .. Use gentle hairfall control shampoo and hair oil like littleeextra cocconion. .. Maintain a positive mindset for overall well being.

Was looking for this question. That’s what I understood too…but when they said, rotate, did they mean, first time you wash your hair, you use X and then the next time (on another day) use the other X product? This is anecdotal, but it happened to me, and it may be useful to someone else. I experienced a horrific psoriasis flare that seemingly came out of nowhere. It was like having burns all over my body. I had been plagued by nummular eczema for over 30 years but never anything compared to this. My dermatologist prescribed heavy duty steroid ointments and diluted bleach baths. Those worked pretty well and at least diminished the acute symptoms by 85 to 90 percent, but left me with a revolting case of dandruff. The eczema was not affected. I tried all the commercial shampoos to no avail. Then a couple of months later I had another flare that was just as severe. We went through the same routine and got the flare under control again, but the dandruff was even worse. Then I read somewhere that processed meat aggravates psoriasis. I eat keto, and at the time I would say I ate bacon almost every day. I was also a big fan of prosciutto. Desperate to avoid another flare, I cut all processed meat out of my diet, and the psoriasis began to clear, and over the next three months vanished completely. Interestingly, so did the nummular 11:01 eczema. But the dandruff was still there. Then I saw a RUclips video by Eric Berg claiming an herbal method that would dramatically clear dandruff in a week to ten days. By now I was willing to stand on my head for a week if it would get rid of the dandruff. The remedy was very simple, but you have to endure oily hair (in my case, hidden under a bandanna) for a week. All I did was buy a jar of oregano oil capsules and a bottle of flaxseed oil and break one capsule into a tablespoon of flaxseed oil and rub it on my scalp every morning and leave it on all day. I washed it out every night and reapplied in the morning. That schedule worked for me as I’m retired, but I’m sure you could apply the oil after getting home from work and leave it on all night. I was not able to finish the weeklong protocol due to a medical emergency in my immediate family, but four days took care of it. At the end of the treatment only a tiny bit of flaking remained near my right ear, and it eventually went away. It’s been over a year now and I have not had even a hint of psoriasis, eczema, or dandruff. I also do not eat processed meats. I do continue to eat unprocessed meats, eggs, dairy, and even sugar with no ill effects to my skin or scalp. I realize this is an anecdotal experience, but my overall point is be open minded. Don’t assume that only pharmaceutical and commercial remedies will solve your issues. Look at your diet and investigate herbal remedies too. My dermatologist was thrilled that I figured out that processed meat brought on my psoriasis, but all I got in response to my dandruff cure was a stare as if I had told her I don’t believe in western medicine, which is not the case.
I am actually happy you both addressed this! I have never tried Nizoral before so I will look into that one. Head and Shoulders makes my scalp bleed and get scabs so I can't mess with that stuff. If those don't work then I will be going to see a dermatologist. My skin is super sensitive so I honestly should anyways. I even had a ridiculous react all over my body to lavender >.> LAVENDAR of all things?!?! It was a terrible situation there. When I say everywhere I bought wipes, deodorant, body soap and lotion with lavender in it..... so you can only imagine how I looked 🤣. Anyways, yall have been extremely helpful with plenty of things so far for me. It is hard to know what to do when companies make you believe things and pandemic affecting when you can get in to see specialists. I thank you a bunch!!

You have a new subscriber! This information is so help for someone who has been deal with dandruff for decades. When I was about eight, my summer camp advisor sent me home because she thought my dandruff was lice. I was embarrassed to return. I am going to buy some salicylic acid shampoo today!
Depending on the area, first clean the scalp and have that yeast less of home to live in as the buildup can spread below. My go to routine is very simple and afforable and leaves me with compliments. At night apply Aloe vera face and hair once cleaned properly, in the morning cerave sunscreen with moisturizing spf30, filtered water reverse osmosis. CeraVe moisturizing cream is good for your body but dont recommend it for face. So basically 2 products Suncreen and moisturizer, if you want antiaging, add some rosehip extract and you got it. This skincare is good for those with dry skins. depending on skin swap CeraVe product for oily faces.
This is the best content. I’ve been debating going to a dermatologist about my head/ears. Decided I’m going to give your Nizoral + Salicylic acid combo a try and if it doesn’t work then I’ll make an appointment. Thanks!!!
SheaMoisture has an African Black Soap Bamboo Charcoal Deep Cleansing line W/ Tea Tree oil and Willow Bark extract which might be a good alternative for this Shampoos recommend in the video. I told my cousin to use the line when she was suffering from dandruff and it seemed to help. Willow bark extract works as the BHA or salicylic acid and tea tree helps with the soothing and is an anti-fungal agent.
We got this one, ketoconazole Fungoral, Daktarin are different brand names. It works against fungus/yeast not only in head-area, works also against skin infection on other body parts.
I'm so upset. In Portugal I paid a private appointment with a dermatologist regarding dandruff just for him to tell me there was nothing I could do, he literally told me that if i didn't want the flakes in my clothes i would just have to wash by hair everyday. This was like 4 years ago, maximum, it was probably even less than that. Then I moved to the UK and i got even worse to a point that it was suoer self conscious and itchy. I bought a over the counter medicated shampoo that at least for now is doing me wonders. And now I discover this channel and find out there's SO MANY ways to try and solve this issues.

don’t shave lol it makes your armpits appear dark because of the thick hair follicles growing back. although some people do have pigment there, for that i am not sure the cause but if you shave it might be why. i switched to waxing and my armpit is so light now
I use a apple cider vinegar with the “mother” and a silicone hair scrubber. I wash my hair, scrub the scalp with that silicone scrubber and I use the ACV rinse (don’t use it undiluted). I also don’t wash my hair in water that is not hot, but tepid… This regimen has gotten rid of the yeast, the buildup. I have zero flakes. I tried the SA, tar, all of them, nothing helped. Hi Dr. Shah, I actually found you on Tiktok and I would like to thank you so much for the recommending the Neutrogena salicylic acid cleanser. It really helped with my oily, pimple skin. But I'm suffering from severe dandruff that is causing hair fall (I'm only 25) 😭😭😭. I've tried Head & shoulders, it didn't work. I've tried selsum blue but 1. It smelled horrendous on me 2. It made my skin even more itchy and irritated but it helped with the flakes. I had to go to a professional haircare treatment centre and it definitely helped. I saw amazing results after 3 months but I've stopped the sessions due to covid and the price. In your opinion, what would you recommend me to do.
I use CeraVe SA cleanser..... I wet my scalp let it sit for about 5 minutes... Rinse off.... I've been flake free oil free inflammation free for about a year now.... My scalp looks healthy... And my dermatologist was amazed
I saw your video while scrolling over RUclips and it was really helpful. I have one more query to ask, can we use hair oil while having dandruff and if yes then which hair oil is best to use? I appreciate your work and waiting for a reply. Thanks in advance.
Can seborrheic dermatitis lead to thinning of hair and block growing of hair completely? Also do you take online appointments in US since we can't travel right now due to COVID?
How often do you recommend using Nizoral + T/Sal? I normally wash my hair every other day. Don’t have dandruff but I do get some flaking very often. I’ve tried the T/Sal before and works wonderfully but I only use like once a week. Now that you suggested using these two combined I want to try it but I do have my hair bleached so I’m very careful with what shampoo I use since I don’t want to damage my hair anymore. Please advise.
Washing your hair every other day honestly, is not a safe decision. Your scalp keeps itself clean for a good time so washing every alternate day strips off your natural oils.

Hello! First, thank you for this video and for all of your free information! I have a question, If I have dandruff is this a life long problem? Am I always going to have to use these shampoos? I have used head and shoulders and it works but it drys out my hair so, I was wondering if there was more of a long term solution or will I just have to deal with this forever? Thank you!
I have the same exact question bc I prefer to use shampoos from my salon (bc they make my hair so soft and shiny) but those don’t treat dandruff! I’m worried I’ll have to choose between nice hair or no dandruff lol
Seborrheic dermatitis affecting your scalp aka dandruff is quite prone to recurring if you stop treatment (aka stop your shampoo). I do have a friend that uses Dove dryness & itch relief shampoo which has zinc pyrithione (same active ingredient as Head & Shoulders). My friend has eczema and the head & shoulders didn’t help due it drying out their skin. Dove has been the only product that has worked for them so far. They also don’t shampoo everyday to help avoid dry hair.
QUESTION: so I now see how to treat Seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp, but how do I treat it on my face and in my ears? Should I use skin treatments that have one of the 3 yeast killers you talk about here?
I have used a 2% Ketozoline shampoo I got from the pharmacy. You're supposed to use in a specific time span over 6 weeks. After that you're supposed to be dandruff free lol... did all of that and it keeps coming back and it's really itchy. I also have really bad pollen allergies and I so sometimes get flaky around my T-zone (it's gone now thanks to good skincare)... does it have something to do with my allergies?
Thanks for the video! I had this question that as you mentioned about olive oil being actually harmful in case of Malassezia, which other oil could be used instead!? options like almond, coconut, castor oil etc ?
For years, I thought that I had dandruff. But, eventually, I realized that I had an allergy/sensitivity to SLS! Once I got rid of all SLS products, my flakes went away. And once I realized that my toothpaste had SLS (and found an SLS-free toothpaste), I no longer had a problem with canker sores.
I struggled with BAD dandruff on my face, ears, eyebrows and TZone. Literally the first time I got prescribed and used Ketoconazole shampoo ,it completely disappeared!!! Do it!

Flaxseeds are a game changer for skin. Helped so much with my eczema. Also, apple cider vinegar will work too.

Thanks for sharing so much knowledge with us. Would it be possible to do a video on psoriasis/scalp psoriasis?
Lavender is fragrance and does nothing for skin.
Lavender oil is a thing. Thats like saying Vanilla is "only" a fragrance... yet you can eat Vanilla. Lavender isn't only used for one single purpose.
Hi alexia, how is the process going so far? Is the problem of dandruff over?
Your videos are really helpful! Thank you 💯
Could you please do a video about seborrheic dermatitis?

Thank you sooo much for your informative videos. Which antidandruff shampoo is safe and effective for coloured hair??
I’ve had scalp psoriasis for 20+ years so I’ve tried every shampoo listed here - surprisingly the one that gives me the most relief is an american crew one with peppermint in it. I also swear by Dx elecon lotion.
Hi Doctors! Could you please make a video about anti hair fall products ? Thank you!

I used Nizoral for two weeks, If I had continued for a month I would have gone bald completely, wanted to get rid of dandruff this shampoo said f it, I start with the hair!

Skincare routine for peeps with eczema pretty please
Thanks!!!
Did it work ?
So after 9 months, did it works?

SheaMoisture has an African Black Soap Bamboo Charcoal Deep Cleansing line W/ Tea Tree oil and Willow Bark extract which might be a good alternative for this Shampoos recommend in the video. I told my cousin to use the line when she was suffering from dandruff and it seemed to help. Willow bark extract works as the BHA or salicylic acid and tea tree helps with the soothing and is an anti-fungal agent.
Thank you so much for this video and STAY BLESSED my gentle men.💖
We got this one, ketoconazole Fungoral, Daktarin are different brand names.
Hi! I really enjoyed this video, and I wanted to see if y’all would be interested in doing a video about PCOS and scalp issues. I’ve read that seborrheic dermatitis is very common in women with PCOS. Thanks!

I tried your shampoo recommendations for my husband and it totally worked! I trust you guys so much now.
Which one did you use?
6:23 - I just tried exactly this, except I used "Ionil T scalp cleanser" instead of the T/Sal and it worked amazingly! Thanks guys, excellent videos.
Do u use them both in the same wash? Or do u switch them off every other day?
@@TrangPhamNguyen I left the T/Sal on for 5 minutes, rinsed and then used the other. After I got the flaking under control I only need to use 1 and rotate between 3 different products.

Please make a video on dark underarms.
1. Why people get dark underarms.
2. Which hair removal method should be followed for preventing dark underarms.
3. Treatments and product recommendations for dark underarms.
don’t shave lol it makes your armpits appear dark because of the thick hair follicles growing back. although some people do have pigment there, for that i am not sure the cause but if you shave it might be why. i switched to waxing and my armpit is so light now
I use a apple cider vinegar with the “mother” and a silicone hair scrubber. For me, ACV works.
Same! Tried everything and only organic unfiltered ACV with the mother eorked for me (I also do rubbing with silicone scrubber)
Lol what do you guys mean by ACV with the “mother.” ACV should be the Apple cider vinegar, but what do you mean by “mother”?
@@Sophia-bd7zv the “mother” is the live culture in ACV. If it becomes a harder mass, it’s called a Scoby. Don’t get rid of it…it means active healthy culture. It’s good stuff.

After rinse with ACV ,should i rinse with regular water or leave it

Hi Doctors! Quick Question: is it advisable to wash your hair everyday when you have dandruff?
No
Yes
Hey @doctorly, I have video experience! You guys have a ton of options when it comes to lighting and sound, but always remember to keep light in front of you, not above or behind you’ll look weird and washed out!
And for sound if you want to do like a boom mic type of thing that way you don’t get audio. And put a fluffy or foam cover on it so you don’t get any external noises.
my hands are always getting dry and flaky when using any kind of soap or detergent! please do a video on what products I can use to treat it!

Lemon juice is the best for dandruff.. I use every two days to stay dandruff free. Dilute it with few drops of water if it’s too strong for your scalp

I feel like i get more dandruff in the winter ❄️
Me too! Do you think (or anyone ready the comments) is because of hot water when we shower??
@@AldoTJ I think it's because of dryness and dehydration
In winter we tend to drink water less since we don't sweat/move as we do in summer
Most people do because it’s literally drier in the winter.
Winter is dry. What would hot water have to do with it?
@@MH-rn4tp Hot water is dehydrating. Hot water and low humidity in cold weather - double whammy.
Thank you. Very informative. Can you prevent the yeast from forming on your scalp in the first place?
How often do you recommend using Nizoral + T/Sal? I normally wash my hair every other day. Don’t have dandruff but I do get some flaking very often. I’ve tried the T/Sal before and works wonderfully but I only use like once a week. Now that you suggested using these two combined I want to try it but I do have my hair bleached so I’m very careful with what shampoo I use since I don’t want to damage my hair anymore. Please advise.
Washing your hair every other day honestly, is not a safe decision. Your scalp keeps itself clean for a good time so washing every alternate day strips off your natural oils.
@@Misbahmulla how often should I was it?

Head and shoulders in uk is advised by many derma consultants to avoid its considered to be very harsh.
What would you say about the connection between dandruff and the microbiome? What are your thoughts on it?
I'm curious about that too. Seems like using a shampoo does not get to the root of the problem.
I would love to see a video about Dermatitis, especially that effects the T-zone
