Hey man Jarvis here jus want to say thanks for the advice and the different situations that comes with the job im new to this but i been thinking about diving into hotshot for years now , and your absolutely right it does fit the schedule of someone like myself thats working law enforcement ....so again thank you and be safe and more importantly stay blessed brother
Awesome video and definitely on point. Everyone has a different starting point and different need(s) requirement(s). Part-time may not be right for some - whereby it may be the perfect venture for others! Maybe those folks who say that you can’t do it should preface that statement by saying “in my situation, I can’t do part-time”. Personally speaking, I’m glad you put it out there because that’s exactly what I plan to do. I have no need to make a living, I’ve done that. It’s time to have fun, do something that I’ve had a yearning for and enjoy life. “Keep it Moving” 👍🏿
Thank you. Exactly my friend. It's all dependent on individual situations. I personally believe it is more enjoyable because it's something I am fortunate to do because I want to do it. I am excited for you to get going in it.
Great info, thanks. I am currently an electrical contractor, but somewhat burned out and want to experiment with doing some Hotshot business as well. I can choose my electrical jobs and schedule Hotshot jobs in between. However, running 2 businesses might be tricky.
Just a suggestion, Pull the car forward further until your door clears the fender. The Honda isn't up on the trailer far enough for proper distribution. Then you can get in and out the door.
Bro, you are so right. Please do ur research folks before getting into anything! This is not a cheap business to get in and its a job you have to grind to win. Not just start and make tons of money like bro just said. Money comes in and money goes out. Pay attention to net profit not gross. Alot of what you see on youtube is gross profit and just guys tryna show off for a camera.
lol, I think what most people mean is making a living off part-time hotshot, especially what it cost for a tradesman's cummings with a 45ft gooseneck trailer prices are insane compared to 6 years ago when I bought mine, that being said yes u can Hotshot part-time to make a few bucks, better to lease on as an owner operator, I also part-time Hotshot myself with a full-time job and roll off dumpster business
I agree with you. I also think about those same people who think they can make a living by doing this part time and wonder to myself, if this is what they want to do on a part time basis to make a living, what are they doing with their other time? I really believe they hear all these people throwing out gross numbers and are registering it as that is what they actually keep. 🤦🏽♂️ C'mon people wake up
What size trailer is that? I got a 3500 SRW hemi and I've been looking at 14ft trailers but I want the ability to haul long bed pickups. Love your channel
That’s one part that I’ve found out while setting everything up. Just curious, what’s insurance like where you are? I’ve noticed the commercial auto is up there in price here in Michigan.
My insurance for the year is right under $7,000. I was shocked how much lower it was than what it was expecting. Having a gas truck and a 25ft bumper pull trailer saves on insurance cost I'm guessing. Heck I can make that up in 2-3 months if I really want to. What are you seeing in Michigan?
@@liveyourfree Ok, so what I was quoted isn't too far off with Progressive. It was around $7000, depending on going with 750k or 1,000,000 coverage was closer to $8,000. Totally not bad. Folks were talking about spending 15-20k on insurance hotshotting! I don't have a trailer yet and have been weighing my options on renting for a while. Day use isn't bad, and I won't have to worry about storing it. I also have a gasser, RAM 3500 SRW Mega Cab. I upgraded from a 2500 Power Wagon, loved the truck but the payload was just under 1500lbs. I pull the same TT as you all! New truck has over 4k payload so this family of 5 with the dog will be okay. Keep up the awesome work!
@Myron T. Miller Ahhh man you guys are golden with that payload. Great setup too bro. Yea I was hearing that too from folks. No wonder people are out there taking whatever loads they can to break even. The beautiful thing is you realize you have options which is powerful. I've really been enjoying the TT. How are you all enjoying it?
@@liveyourfree we love it man! We have a few trips already planned for this summer. Took ours about 6,000 miles last year. We got it in March 2021 so not bad. It’s definitely enough room, but I’ve been thinking on 5th wheels. Sadly, I’m not interested in paying the inflated prices I’ve seen. The 2800bh are now going for 20k more than what we got ours new for!!! That’s insane!
@Myron T. Miller nice. Yea I saw that on the grand design forum where they were asking if it was a good deal for a 2800bh @ $44k!?!?!? I just shook my head. I've been thinking about a 5th wheel too just for the heck of it but I would have to move up to a 3500. I don't think the payload would agree with my current truck. Plus those inflated prices are no joke.
just out of curiosity, when hauling single cars at a time, what insurance is needed and approximate cost for insurance. thanks in advance , great channel you have
Where u getting loads from??? U only showing u picking up dropping off …. Let as know I heard you say car Gurus but what about when he was picking up from … how u get on????????????
I will make a video on that exact topic. I will do a screen record so you can see. What I did to learn was Google different load boards and watch RUclips like you are doing. Continue doing that until I can get that video out to you all. I appreciate you watching!
Sir I've watched your video with keen interest, I have a brand new truck and I want to start hotshot with it but I may not be able to do it full time because I work with a company and I like my job very well but I want to slowly start this business but my time available for this job would be 7AM to 6pm since I work with the company only at night and I want to know if it can work for me ?

Yes sir 💯 right!
Great content!!! I appreciate that!!! 👍🏾✌🏿Ken!! Oh!!
You could put a 2x on the spots of the trailer where tires set on cars you haul. Might save you from taking the fenders off on occasion.
Man you might be my new hero if that works lol. I'm going to look into that. Thanks for the tip!

Hello sir, what are the insurance requirements?
If you don't mind me asking what are you paying for insurance?
I was gunna ask the same thing. If I had to guess it would have to be commercial. Under personal they won’t cover ya.
Thank u bro. I’m looking to buy an f150 ecoboost. This was very helpful. Thank you. Any other tips would be appreciated

I appreciate it my friend. It is a 25ft bed. 30ft all in
lol in Middle Tennessee. You use an app or website to hot shot? Which ones would you recommend
