Fake news! I did $7k this week non cdl sleeping in my bed every night. Rate cons to prove it… But this is with 3 years experience. And direct customers plus the loadboard. But no everyone can’t do that and no this isn’t every week. 👍🏿
This comment proves my point . For the people getting in this year how will they compare to your 3 year experience and your direct shippers .
@@truckingwithbennii exactly they want bro. And I’m saying all this in a humble way. Non cdl is for very few people. And a lot of these guys don’t know the laws etc and truthfully they don’t take the time to learn them. They all see dolla signs but truthfully don’t take the time to learn or actually know the right way to get the dolla and it costs them shit tons of money in the end.. I’ve been around the block a few times and honestly I’m glad I have because the experience u learn from the mistakes makes u better. I’m sure people look at my hustle and say dam Vahotshot killing it I can do that to…. I’m like bro u can but at same time I’m in a great area. I’m blessed and there’s not much more I can say. Success comes in many ways and non cdl isn’t the way to success for any average Joe! Man y’all gotta get me on this channel we need to get this non cdl shit squared away! 🤣 if u want someone who gonna explain it in depth man I’m your guy!
@@hawthornetransport Fake news lmao rate con where it’s at ?
@@fedboy601 only way is to show these folks! Lol
@@hawthornetransport 😂 upload the video, brother. You have a channel, looks like you haven't posted in a year.
You are very knowledgeable in this industry.
I'm in New England with a $70k light duty truck, tow package, & 1 car trailer. I'm new but doing okay and staying disciplined with my cash flow like you mention.
With my 5 year experience with non cdl hotshot trucking is this….The CDL hotshot drivers are pushing way to much wait on their trucks because the CDL lets them haul more weight…those trucks are not meant to run HARD with max weight without eventually big money breakdowns. I got a non cdl setup and keep my wait under 26,000lbs and making a good living…I mostly do have direct customers now and some load board and keep it local. I do love watching your channel and keep up good work bro!
This is what I think.
I haul up to 18k on my setups . F350s and up and 4O footers and run all day every day no issues w my trucks and trailers . But I also pay off my trucks in 2-2.5 years …
Ok Cause I’m Trying To Start Off Non Cdl Until I Turn 21 And I’m Trying To Make Money Now
Good luck buddy cause hotshot going full cdl now
How much you make honestly a month?
Mad respect for you keeping it real I'm stuck in between should I get in volved with this type of business your video definitely is helping me out
appreciate the truth man. I’ve been researching and the anticipated start of my company is six months from now. Truly appreciate the wisdom and free game.
Another great video bro I just started up back in October out here in Texas doing intrastate got my authority to go interstate the week of Christmas now just waiting on my IFTA to come back thank you for all the motivation stay blessed 🙏🙏
you making good money now?
Exactly right!! I did hotshot for 3 years, 12 years ago, and getting back in to it bc I’m tired of working and making other ppl money. It ain’t easy, it’s expensive, it’s hard work and if you don’t have money sense and drive…..stick to 9-5
I just got my authority and touch on all of these topics on my videos.. You’re absolutely right bro, there’s money to be made but it’s not easy money! Great video bro 🤙🏼
I appreciate you and Pop’s keeping it 💯 👊🏾
I appreciate you man. Your videos are straight up and no BS.
Keep it up stick I’m not gonna lie Ive been down for the past 5 months due to a TBI injury someone ran a red light an hit me on my Harley but I’m blessed! This is the most time I’ve ever had to really think about life an I have a great job I’m a supervisor for a Corporate store but I’ve always wanted to have something of my own an I’ve been doing a lot of research in regards to getting into this business once I get back on my feet! My Wife an I watch all of your content to gain as much free game as we can I’m in VA an an watching your content definitely keeps me motivated while im down.To you an your pops keep grinding!
Wow. Praying for your continued recovery.
@@kdaye7647 I appreciate the support I’m determined an a go getter! I’m blessed to have time on my side so it’s just a waiting game at this point!
I’m 23 just started working for a CDL hotshot enjoying it tho, gonna help me become owner operator later on. You and them put me on such my game 💯
He's absolutely right, I have been in the trucking business for a while (pulling a reefer) and his advice is right on the money.
Every business has pros and cons. But at the end of the day I will be working for myself and following my OWN rules and growing my OWN business.
Thank for this video, very enlightening. I am considering getting into non-cdl trucking for first time and this was a truck load of information. Things I didn't necessarily consider. Looking for your other videos.
Good vid. You provide content on the regular which is good. One think to think about is preventive maintenance. If you're pushing any vehicle hard and towing it's something to think about. It's possible the EGR cooler issue may have been prevented of it was cleaned around 80k miles.
We appreciate the knowledge you drop sir keep it hope and I hope to meet you and pops out on the road one day
This Is one of best factual videos I’ve seen . 💯💯 keep up the awesome vids.
You are smart! You tell it like it is…it’s not a game and I hope people will listen to you. You have done the homework and know what the laws are. Btw…I’m retired and was thinking about a side business but, I’m not too sure this is the right fix even knowing weights and laws.
Thanks for you candid and honest video, be blessed.
Thanks for making this to help talk sense into someone who might think it's easy money. My friend said the other day that he might just start doing hot shots (as if it would be easy) with his 110k mile F350. I know him and know his heart wouldn't be in it. This video is perfect for people like him. Not discouragement, just the realities. I'm sure plenty of people make good money doing this, but as the saying goes, hard work pays off. Firm believer that there's no such thing as easy money.
Truth , good luck stay safe!
Great Video. Just make sure that you follow all of the FMCSR. Just because you aren't required a CDL doesn't mean that you're exempt from the FMCSR. If you have a DOT Number you have to adhere to all of the regulations.
Appreciate your transparency in this video! You’ve saved a lot of ppl a lot of money. Keep pushing
Brother, thank you. I wanted to start from the bottom without a cdl. Thank you for this motivation 🙏
How much you make a week
Bro spitting flames 🔥 with that beat , good video bro keep it up
Appreciate the game brother! Be safe out there.
I hope to get started Spring of 2023. I'm going to have low overhead and excited.
I run a 2020 3500 with a 14gn derated to 12k pounds we make 5 to 7k a week on average .. have my cdl permit taking my test in a big rig so I have no restrictions
How do you derate a trailer?
How did you get your permit
Smh…
@@musclemania30 it was done by the factory when it was ordered .. pretty much title and info sticker say 12k instead of 14k
@@stkbloc9717 went to dmv and took the cdl a permit test
Hey bro I just want to thank you today is the 8th of January and I just received my class a for my hot shot set up the name of my company is blessed strong transport hope to see you out there soon and God bless you and your dad your family for all your hard work thank you God is good Amen 🙏 I should be up and going in February
Great Vid, amazing explanation
Great info bro !! I really don't watch anyone on RUclips but I do enjoy your father's information. I've been experiencing all that you just said. Other then the non cdl part lol. It's the truth, I've been in the hot shot game for 2 months. But I'm not giving!
Man I thank you for your positive words
droppin knowledge thank you for the insight
I been otr driver for over 20 years going to Hotshot that semi you and pops bought are a new level of problems especially trying to find someone that can drive them
Great vid. Glad I’m getting my CDL.
He is telling the truth about them part's. I have a 18-wheeler and it's hard getting part's. Your truck can be down for weeks waiting on part's. Frfr
Thanks for the video brotha. Just got my CDL… not sure where to start was looking at some 3500 but guess I’m look at some semi instead. You just pumped my breaks not sure where to start now lol…
Great Intel Bennii, No Cap. 💯
Yeah I’m Running fuel in a day cab, I’m trying to get into doing my own thing wanted to get a sleeper and run owner operator but the trucks cost a arm and leg. I got that CDL with my tanker and hazmat endorsement. Hotshot would be my side hustle on my off days.
Well said brotha.
I'll be jumping into the game come April this year. I'm non cdl running a 2020 f250 7.3, it's just to get me going. I'll be buying my car hauler trailer in March/April
I’m actually looking into getting into doing Hotshot work since I dormice a 26 foot box truck (non CDL and for a medical company). I know some of the DOT rules and regulations, but I honestly want to get my CDL’s and find a hotshot company that’s willing to train and show me the ropes before I go and do it all myself. I’ve done some reading here and there and I know that the price for classes and things are going up, but I’m willing to go that route. This video was helpful and made my decision a bit easier. I rather work for myself I’m not looking to get rich quick, just have a better financial situation then what I have now.
Just go sign with a mega carrier, they’ll pay for your cdl and train you while your doing your year there. Then get your own thing going!
@@samsaleh22 for hotshot specifically??
Some companies (if you decide to drive for them) will reimburse your full tuition. I know Schneider for sure will and they dont start you off real low either. Def one of the companies im interested in working for.
@@djdeznyc Not hotshot specifically but essentially hot shot is just a smaller flatbed. If you can drive and tarp/secure flatbed freight you can hotshot. Plus after driving a semi with 53’ trailer a dually with 40’ will seem easy.
I appreciate this so much thank you
thanks Champ, very informative
Wow wow wow! Thank you! We all know the saying, real recognizes real… Thank you for keeping it real. ❤
This is t coming from a new rookie, but a company CDL 18 wheeler driver who understands a good part of the industry. I’m far from an expert so I came here to get good real sound advice about possibly doing hotshot.
Edit: I posted this before seeing the last ten seconds. Lol 😂
That was great because it’s not bragging or showing off when it’s real. 😃😃
Man I’m really I. My head about doing this shit right now! I really needed this I appreciate the honest view bruh
Awesome video and info 👍🏽🇬🇺🤙🏽
Straight facts!
I just ordered my ram 3500 and big tex 35+5. Been driving 2 years this is the most affordable for me. But moving forward big rig, ya dig.
The trucking industry is not for the weak hearted its not easy. I been trucking going on 14 years and still learning something new daily just be ready for anything. One breakdown can run you out of business if your bread is not right. 10k to 25k for a engine. Down time waiting on parts is a killer.
Great info!!
We do need more drivers out there to help counteract some of these shortages.
Shortage is good. Means more money for the already out there drivers.
Appreciate the info
the 6.4 hemi would pull your loads NO PROBLEM
Good advice bro.
Preach ma dude!
Good information...my brother has been talking about this for a while
5500 ram dually baby!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
So true the overhead is rough. My 2011 Ford f350 lost power engine went out in Minnesota. Had to buy another truck in Albert Lea Minnesota. Did not expect that after only 145000 miles on the engine. You truly never know out here
100% get your cdl. Carry more weight, and you get treated more respectfully by DOT at least with my experience. I can do 20k payload so I can do backhoes, and other stuff. I beat out so many non cdl drivers on loads paying stupid great rates
Ima do it fuck it so far all my research is leading to getting my CDL and how bad you want it!! I’ve started plenty business and failed I’m not afraid to fail at this all I can do is try at the end of the day it comes down to who wants it the most and who cares about opinions.
New to your channle, hopping to get the dope answers from you videos keep it up boss 🏁👋🏼
Good info my brother
Good info. Good video
That’s the TRUTH !!
Thanks for the video! Are you required to use electronic log books and only drive 10 hour days?
Boy I love a man that gets up and go find his money!
I like how you explain THERE IS DEFINITELY MONEY in this business but it’s NOT FOR EVERYBODY. I can say the same in my field of general construction. We do a lot of high profile jobs in Southern California and YES THERE IS MONEY in Building houses buts like you said ,ITS NOT FOR EVERYONE . I enjoy watching videos on how everyone makes a different type of living. I’m barely 26 man but it seems there’s not many motivated people out there nowadays to get money like you.
Damn. Great info. Have had my CDL for 25 years and never really used it. How do I get into this? Some info would be great. Keep it up!!
Love the video. This is nothing but the truth. I've been in business since Aug and been sat down 3 times. sometimes almost a month. if not the trailer then the truck. There is money out there. But now i see what these guys were talking about having around 8-10k set aside before getting in. I wish I had. Also for those buying a truck MAKE SURE TO GET THAT WARRANTY!!! Because things will break and that's more money coming out of your business. I hope to start making videos of my hotshot driving adventures in car hauling. And I'm taking the CDL Driving test on tuesday hopefully, I'll past because I see that I could easily make twice as much if I could haul more weight. So yes go get those CDL's before Feb!!! I hope to see you on the road...
What's up Jared! I've heard ppl say get your cdl before February. What changes have you heard are going to be made
@@coreyhights1392 after February you will be required to go to a driving school. Now you can just got and take the test without needing a $3-$5k class to pass in order to take your CDL
You have to do that now. I got a homie jus finished his first week of class. 7 a.m. to 5p.m. m-f it's a 4 week class. I think it's something else to the changes
Stop the cap bro! It’s money out here!
Da*n right man. 👊🏽 I’m sick of working for other people, bossing one around. Naa, I rather do my own thing, and what better place than in this country?!. I’m in it.
Running anything non cdl in a brand new dually is just crazy backwards I think because the truck is already 14k gvwr. The trailer should always be rated higher since it'll be whats physically carrying all the weight. Putting a 12k rating on a 40ft trailer just to be non cdl seems to be the norm though. Too many guys out here blowing tires, wheel bearings, axles, leaf springs, etc because they have too low of a rated trailer for something that's going to be 40ft. 7k tandem axles and suspension just doesn't cut it with what they're trying to accomplish. Some guys get lucky. Unfortunately I see way too many that don't. We're nearing that cdl deadline. February is coming quick!!
Rating has nothing to do with why there blowing tires and leaf springs. Problem is there buying cheap trailers get a Diamond c and all those problems are gone and truthfully a Diamond c isn’t needed. They just need to do maintenance lazyness has fucked this industry up. I’ve had a cheaper trailer and I’ve had a Diamond c it’s really based on how u do your maintenance. You know how I run and how I up keep my stuff my trailer is rated at 12k was originally 18k but derated and I run circles around this cdl and non cdl guys with my 40ft and I have over 100k on my trailer with same leaf springs and axles. It’s all about maintenance. People to scared to spend that money to fix there stuff and to lazy to look it over and half of them don’t know what the hell they looking at or know what part they need. But at the same time they wanted be a super trucker.
@@hawthornetransport Definitely agree about the laziness, I've been running PJ trailers for years and I've had good luck with them, but again it's all about the maintenance.. i buy PJ mostly because i got tired of dealing with the shitty harbor freight wiring on most trailers, PJ uses conduit and solid wire front to back, it's the little things..
Yo! I love watching both benni and your channel. You guys should find a way to do a combined video. You kill it with your repair videos and Benni kills it with his dad and how the industry is and ways to get paid what you should!
@@jredd801 amen bro you said it right. And honestly we all have a brand we love and truthfully pj is next in line with a Diamond if u asked me keep rolling bro
I'm newly researching this market. What do you mean "February is coming"???
Good content hotshot Bennii
Yeah I’m working on my CDL now I already have my twic card & everything also
My husband does 10grand gross and 2-3grand to the pocket every single week 50weeks per year. Home every night!
Super heavy haul in nyc metropolitan area.....more axles=more money
My 10 months experience was not the money. It was the company that no longer exists. I’m looking into getting back into the business with a good. That is cdl hotshot.
Lmfao I'm 52yo and been around trucking my ENTIRE LIFE
my grandpa n uncles owned rigs my husband and father in law both life long truckers.
Do urself a huge favor if ur gonna truck get a cdlA n buy a big rig.
Hint: the more tires the more money u make FACTS
...My husband does super heavy now local in nyc metropolitan area everything literally 130 140 150k lbs AND UP ....
free and clear after everything 2000-3000 in the pocket every week!
After taxes after expenses after EVERYTHING!!!
10GRAND/WK GROSS AND 2-3GRAND IN THE POCKET FREE N CLEAR HOME EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!
go big go heavy make money
Very simple equation kids
Done both, I kept more profit none cdl. I grossed more cdl but the cost eat up the extra money in my case. Inflation is the biggest killer now
Got my own truck and trailer and about to have my cdl class a I’ve hauled cattle all my life my question is where do you find loads at
When getting your CDL A for hotshot trucking do you need to take a driving test in a semi truck and trailer?
It’s kinda funny that you bagged on Tow Piglet saying get your CDL if you hotshot and now here you are.
Wait what ? We have always said get a CDL . Why wouldn’t I say that and I have a CDL
You say simply get your cdl... I couldn't agree more, I simply watched RUclips study vids and wuah-la class a cdl on the first try.
Granted I can shift gears better than I can study and test for anything 🙃
Man you have the Wolf of wall street vibe we would get along good 🤙
Damn bro I’m 21 have had hotshot on my mind for 3 years just trying to save so I don’t have to pay things off and have that extra worry thanks for some info!
59 years old…with forty years experience…my wife and I are DV and retired….gatta have a back up plan….
Great video
God honest truth right here ….💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Can you do non cdl hot shot as a side job? Or will that cost to much?
OK...here's a curveball for you: I got a military retirement and a good paying part-time job. I was interested in hotshot trucking part-time (maybe even non-CDL).....it would help pay a little towards the truck and trailer (I'm talking driving maybe 4-5 days a month. I live in southern Wisconsin which looks pretty good for decent loads) and justify a little of the expense of the truck and trailer, see the country, make a couple bucks. (Maybe down the road, if I made maybe 4k a month after expenses I could quit my part-time gig and do ok...but that's not really the point.) Is it more viable in my situation, given my circumstances? I'm not looking to make a killing...maybe pay-off the trailer and have some fun.
People are out here killing themselves chasing money. No one really accepts what they would do if they didn't have to worry about the basics in life. The truth is, most of us out here think like you and most of us don't know if yet. This is why there will always be an imbalance of rich n poor. Some ppl are numbers ppl and can't see anything but numbers and numbers become their drug.
Love your perspective and honesty
Soo I’m sitting on I65 southbound from Cincinnati to the Bama coast. The weather is a mess and the roads are worse. I told my new dispatcher not to book loads around this kind of weather unless it’s $4:mile. She just told me no one pays more for bad weather or $4/mile. What do you all think. Anyone getting it?
What is the difference??? If you have a CDL can you still run non CDL? And is thier a difference In the trucks? Maybe stupid questions but I'm confused and looking into it. I have a CDL
I’m hearing so many different opinions on hot shot trucking… some say the pay is really good some say don’t waste your time… somebody capping
I like the ending 😎
Stories of your truck and experiences i have had with ram trucks is why some guys struggle. They are the bottom of the barrel hotshot truck. If a truck cant go 200k miles without major failure its not going to work. These newer trucks havent been easy on the hotshot industry. Keep up the videos. Try another brand truck and stand out in the crowd.
Lmfao RAMs are proven to be the top of the line trucks for that kind of work. Are you kidding?
I’ll give you this, all modern diesels suck ass because of the EPA and the Government. They literally force all these manufacturers to build their diesels like crap and slushee makers.
Don’t blame the manufacturer, they’ve got no choice.
Ford’s are the cheapest for a reason. They’re literally just driving soda cans that come with endless electrical problems . Chevy’s although they’re fairly reliable, they lack the power necessary to haul for big money. The RAMs are easily at the top. Like i said though, all diesels from like 2010+ are trash without deletes
I have had my cdl since 2017 Been looking for a company to lease on two I’ve been hauling trailers for the past two years
Better get them CDLs before next month(if don’t wanna go to a school)
What are your thoughts about using a modern mid size gas truck for 1 car auto hauling? My truck can haul 7k pounds. 1 car trailer is 1500 lbs which gives me 5.5k to haul. Most sedans and small crossovers are under that weight. Do you think my truck would be alright for daily operations? Transmission temps are the main thing to look at right?
What do you think about the non CDL box truck business?
