Out of everything Cody has tested, the G-Wagon has unexpectedly been one of the most durable vehicles
I mean it was developed initially for military use in the 70s and it’s always been used every generation. It’s a tank with fancy paint and leather
It's not unexpected if you know the history, they were originally made for military use and were indestructible. Then they eventually added all the luxury stuff because people (especially ex military) wanted them sf badly because of how reliable they were. They've only gotten better and better since then.

This was probably the first time a G-Wagon could actually show what it's capable of. All the offroad drivers are always saying how hard it is, but when you have a madman like Cody behind the wheel you see that "rock crawling" is just people scared to give the beans.

Yo, I'm not sure if he had WAY too much trust that that tiny tree would protect him from about 20,000 pounds of runaway truck if things went wrong, WAY too much trust in the integrity of the drive train on that G-Wagon to NOT cause the truck to somehow veer off in an unpredictable direction, a brave drive to get the shot at any cost, or just really didn't give a fck (OR maybe a combination of these things), BUT that shot with the Wagon hauling ass by him at like 50 mph about a yard or two away was AWESOME -I must have rewatched that split second about 20 or 30 times. 💯

1. Has amazing offroad capability. Only needs the right tires
2. In case of an accident, the car will notify the emergency services.
3. Has airbags for the legs, that is some next level safety

Also, like any vehicle made in the last 30 yrs, the electronics were eventually what stopped it. Yes, computer controls are amazing, wonderful things, but that doesn't mean they don't add crazy cost/complexity/ long term reliability issues. Esp german cars, where some of the designs seem like engineers add things just because they can.
Sounded nice when it was going full bore, tho lol. Full diff locks frt/rear and all 4, portal axles, good ground clearance make these things really capable off rd. They're so expensive tho, part of the reason why people use land cruisers and old land rovers for the harshest, most remote places in the world. Cant have your life depend on not getting water near the battery in the trunk.
I feel like Eddie pointing the RPG at the ground and the warhead falling out is an underrated moment. I laughed out loud at that.

It's not as durable as the Hilux or Land Cruiser. WhistlinDiesel's G-wagon broke two axles.
Nothing on the Hilux broke. The other downside of the G-wagon is cost to repair and maintain it.
@@electrikoptik Bruh, slow down 😂. First of all, they are not in the same class. The G-wagon belongs in the luxury section. What on earth would belong to that section and would require cheap maintenance 😂? Secondly, the only reason a G-wagon is used in these tests is to push it to its limit, farther than the makers have and to see if it's tougher than the landmark they had set. Thirdly, to compare a G-wagon in it's rightful form, you would need another luxury ride to do so. Only then could you talk about durability, axles and whatnot. In regards to Toyota Hilux and the likes, they were built for that kinda terrain and yet, G-Wagon still beats it in some.

I have owned about 8 Mercedes cars , all bought when at least 10 years old and 100k miles on the clock for not much money.
My three kids shared a 190d 2.5 which I taught them all to drive in. Bought with 160,000 on the clock and after 8 years sold with 237,000 on the clock , they all had one or two accidents in it and we repaired it with junkyard parts .
They are the simply the best
