It was pretty noticeable to me. I was talking to the shop guy and he said a guy bought a Hellcat without trying it and traded it in next week. I've got probably 1000 rounds through my Sig and I like it even more than I did. It has made me stop looking at other pistols. The only thing that has caught my eye is the XL. I just love it and everyone that shot the Hellcat with me agreed it was more snappy. I loved everything about the Hellcat except how snappy it was which isn't surprising. For me it came down to 2 things. The P365 is made in New Hampshire US, Hellcat in Croatia. And the Hellcat had more recoil in my hand. Hellcat was just snappier. The extra round isn't enough to make up for the additional time and lack of accuracy on follow-up shots. I actually liked the Hellcat's sights in brighter light better, but th 3 'lit' dots of the P365 for low and night was better. Yes, like the hellcat mag release button better, but like the serrations better on the Sig. Hellcat trigger safety is nice, but overall trigger pull on sig was smoother and better for me. Sig felt just a little better made as well. So, Sig it was (granted mine is a 2020 model). Never thought anything would replace the Walther PPS M2 LE for me, but either would have, and the sig did.

I'm also considering the Walther PPS, but I haven't had the opportunity to take it for a spin, yet. Could you describe the reasons why the Sig replaced your Walther? Also, what features are with the M2 LE? I'm assuming LE means limited edition, so it may not even be available anymore? Any comparisons you can share would be appreciated. Thanks!

Matter of personal opinion and choice. Recoil is perceived differently by many shooters. 9mm ammo is not a magnum projectile and most can handle its recoil. They’re both good choices, can’t go wrong with either choice.

It isn't a matter of 'handling' recoil. Recoil affects repeat shot accuracy and speed/ It slows re-acquiring the target, which slows you down. All of this is CRUCIAL in self defense scenarios.

Obergruppenführer John Smith Well sure, I mean we can play that game ad nauseam. Browning certainly leveraged existing firearms technology to develop his masterpieces, so maybe we need to credit his fore-bearers as well? Words have meaning, which is why I said “this next generation”, so not 100% sure what you’re getting at. Sig didn’t develop the semi auto pistol lol (which I never said), they figured out how to squeeze and extra 40% of ammo in a given magazine. If you don’t find that impressive you are free to stick to your Glock 43 or six shooter for that matter.

Hey Dildow 😂 . First time gun-owner here. Just bought a p365 and noticed on mine at least, with a full mag I really, and I mean REALLY, gotta jam it in there. Like it makes reloads in a high-stress situation unreliable/impractical. In your experience is this something that will get better with time?
Also, at the muzzle end, there is some room/play between the slide and the grip, like I can kinda wiggle it around, maybe just a millimeter or so. Noticed this doesn’t happen on my friend’s sd9ve. Doesn’t seem right but like I said, I’m new to guns and I’ve spent hours looking online and don’t see any mention of these two issues.
Any thoughts as a seasoned gun owner?

Great video. I didn't like the recoil on the Hellcat and bought a 365. I also have a g43, but the 365 is going to replace it. I find the 365's design allows me to get a better grip from any holster, and that has given me consistently better grip and control. The result is .25 seconds faster draw to an accurate first shot. It also has amazing capacity. AND I was also able to mount a holosun 407 green dot on it. Absolutely amazing little gun. I'm probably going to carry it exclusively.

I found that this was also true with the smaller P365. The trigger is heavy on the HC. If I shoot it first it really emphasizes the difference. That being said the Hellcat is my EDC (I am a lawful CCW permit holder in NV). This is primarily because of size. Both guns fulfill their mission for personal defense. Now that both have optics, i will start to alternate.

Sig P365 is the most accurate small 9mm I ever shot. Yes the sights are really nice but what makes the gun for me is the trigger. It has a very soft break with no fishtail movement of the front sight. That along with the right ammo makes the recoil very manageable.

From personal experience I found the recoil spring in a new gun can be stiff, giving a stronger recoil feel during the break-in period. After the break-in the gun will be more comfortable to shoot. This may or may not be the case for the hellcat you have here. Can you do a comparison after both guns are well broken in?

All I can say is if you are thinking of buying a Hellcat. Make sure you pull that trigger as much as you can before you buy give it a thorough run through so you know it's safe and works for you. Above all it's a safety issue. I trust my 40 plus years of shooting experience to know there was a problem with mine. If you purchase this gun I hope it is safe and you enjoy it. “Safe action trigger” the only safety thats needed on “any” firearm is your “trigger” finger and food fundamentals of safety. Safeties are overrated and are geared for those that choose to carry a firearm with some level of fear. Keep your finger outside the trigger guard, glued to the pistol locator and you’ll be fine!

    • @srsatlaf4730
      @srsatlaf4730 4 года назад +2

@@chgofirefighter I am just fine the way I am thanks. I'm 56 and I've been carrying an EDC pistol ever since I legally could from age 21. Single action cocked and locked, SA/DA revolvers and automatics, DAO revolvers. I have Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Glock, H&K, 2 SIG pistols and now the Springfield Hellcat. Other than the Glock and Hellcat none of my other pistols have any form of external safety on them. I know what I like and works for me in each situation. When I pocket carry and am drawing from a pocket under a stressful situation, I want additional safety of a safe action trigger to lessen the chance of a negligent discharge into my femoral artery. This is known as good common sense, not fear. I only use the Hellcat when I am pocket carrying and it is perfect for that exactly the way it is. So I will stick to my initial statement, if they make a P365 with a safe action trigger then I will get one for pocket carry. If I am not going to pocket carry then I will be carrying one of my other pistols.

IF the springs/triggers settle in to a well used state, wouldn't the accuracy, and the accuracy of Mrs. Hegshot, improve? interested in your opinion. i'm not going to go out a buy a Sig P365 because i just bought (2) Hellcats. but, i do hope the recoil and trigger pressure improves over a little time, and a bunch of rounds. thanks for the video, sir...

Its funny how when the 365 first came out a lot of people on YT were kind of hating on it because of the issues with the firing pin dragging on the primers & breaking, MAC went through 3 different 365’s and had issues with all of them, he also showed that they have redesigned the firing pin 3 different times, maybe its all resolved, now lots of people are loving it, i also read that the recoil spring rate on the Hellcat is a bit harder because Springfield was testing the Hellcat to 20,000 rounds durability standards, so maybe why the difference in perceived felt recoil, I notice it a little bit but not enough to make a significant difference, also i find the trigger on the Sig a tad lighter but also a bit mushy compared the Hellcat’s more definitive wall & crisper break, I prefer the latter for a concealed self defense firearm, they are both great innovative pistols, I choose the Hellcat, also if you put the ref dot on it you can co-wittiness your sights where as the Sig XL is the only one available with the ability to put an optic & you loose the rear sight, they are all nice & glad there are so many choices available, we are truly living in the golden age of firearms, thanks to you & your wife for the great content you all put out.

There’s some nice features on the Hellcat and I wanted to buy one till I tested the trigger safety issue myself at two different gun shops. If you put any sideways pressure on the trigger prior to depressing the trigger safety tab it will not fire , it locks up the trigger. Not an issue if your on the range and in perfect conditions and you grip the gun right and depress the trigger straight on. But that’s not what the gun is for, in an emergency if you don’t grab and press the trigger just right and it locks up then what? I tried to duplicate this issue on several other of my guns with trigger safety’s and non of them lock up. Something to consider before you buy one.

Owen Johnson - Can I ask why the optics ready version and not the one with the optic on there already?
Here my personal reason, it’s a ton of money. And if I don’t like the Hellcat I can sell it and get the P365SAS which is the same price. So no money loss. If I do love the Hellcat, then I’ll add the optic. Plus, I haven’t seen any Kydex IWB holsters for the Hellcat with the optic on it. Not saying there isn’t one, I just haven’t seen it. So waiting until people offer one will fit the timeline for adding the optic. It would suck to spend 700+ on a new EDC and not be able to use because there no holsters for it.
Honestly, I’m really tossed between the P365SAS and the Hellcat. Been on RUclips a lot lately watching everything I can about both guns, including comparison videos like this one. I love the idea of an optic on a pistol. (My full size P320 has Romeo 1 on it and its bad ass!) With the Hellcat, I can add it later. Yes, the 1 extra round is a plus, but not the main deciding factor between the two guns. The optic is. I’m hoping I love this little sucker so I can add the optic and then love it even more.
Excited to go to more capacity, a 9mm and an overall smaller gun over my current EDC, which is a Glock 27.
Plus or any birthday present. 😉

P365 is a decent fun but Springfield added so much more with the grip and the extra round and such. Also I don’t mind the sights that are on it I shoot it perfectly fine and honestly love the sights. Surprised the hell out of me that the 42 and 43 both have polymer magazines (with thick walled polymer). Was the first time Glock didn't have to worry about mag compatibility, so it wouldn't have been a problem to make them out of steel (having thin walls like the majority of steel magazines). Would have easily increased capacity to 8+1, maybe even 9+1. Then of course, like the P365 and Hellcat, a slight few modifications could have given them 10+1 or 11+1 (with a few mods and/or a slight increase in thickness).

The two brand firearms I own are Springfield & SIG, they're my brands. That said, I haven't had an interest in a Springfield in a while.. I don't care much for single stack, not enough for a XDs but I sure plan to add a P938 to my collection. As for the Grip Zone guns after the XDm I just didn't care for fiber optic sights and the gaudy text all over the frame/slide. The Hell Cat i feel it's about the same as the Grip Zone guns.. and I just don't get that need it feeling. Again, love my XD40SC and have argued many a Glock fanboys over aesthetics, engineering designs, etc.

Haven't bought yet. I have shot the 365. I do like the trigger better on the hellcat and the 365s do have reliability issues. I'm really leaning towards the hellcat. Plus that 10,000 round test with only 4 FTF (I have had glocks do that with less ammo through them.)

I have watched many reviews on RUclips I've shot them both I choose the p365 better sights and better trigger both are great and very close but the Hellcat's rear sight is only visible in daytime the sig is more visible at night but the sig is less visible daytime I feel the sig is better for me so that's why I bought it and if you want a red dot look at the sig p365x if you have to have a red dot then the Hellcat is better because it co-witnesses the iron sights from the factory the sig replaces the rear sight with a notch red dots are good for longer range but the iron sights are better at close range you don't have to look for the dot I hoped this helped you out.

I couldn't get comfortable with either. It was mostly the thinness and the tiny slide release. I have rather big hands. I bought the hellcat, played around with it for about a week and just never felt comfortable with it. I returned it and got a bigger springfield xd9 mod 2 with the 13 and 15 round mags. It has the thicker grip and the "grip zone" which is a bit cheesy but really comfortable. Obviously for concealment, the sig and hellcat are better. But I MUST be comfortable with a gun before committing to using it in a stressful situation. I was an MP for 12 years and comfort is huge. I take mine home and before I ever fire a round through it, I break it down and put it back together a lot just for the feel. But I think the sig and hell are good guns for their obvious purpose.

That is not so. There are 2 mags that come standard one is 11 rounds and the other is 13 rounds. Both are in the original box. Springfield advertises the Hellcat as coming standard with 13 plus 1. Why are you so stubborn about this. Please do your research. This is why I said that you are prejudice against the Hellcat.

Tom Weil hellcat has 11 flush and P365 10 flush. If you’re taking all the mags into account 365 has 15 which is 2 more than the hellcat 13

Supermike the p365 doesn’t have a 15 round mag standard the p365xl might but not the p365
