After many videos and reading through comments sections from others, I must say, your's very easily helped me make the decision. Thank you for the straightforward and very informative video!
Thank you for the most thorough video yet. I have had many questions on the variants and this video answered questions that I hadnt even thought of. Keep them coming!
I just got the orginal 365 and wow for a small gun its doesn't have much kick at all. Really amazing little gun only shot about 30 rounds through it because of ammo shortage but man I enjoyed it. Can't wait to get more ammo and shoot it more.
Seemed to me the difference in the trigger pull was related to the location of the gauge on the trigger more than any real difference in the internals. On the SAS, the curved trigger kept the gauge closer to the fulcrum, while with the flat faced trigger it wanted to slide down to the very tip. And actually did on the first go round - giving the lightest result of all three tries. Which makes total sense - longer lever arms really do provide mechanical advantage. Which might matter if you practice to keep your trigger finger at the very end of the trigger, but then the slightly lighter pull also comes at the disadvantage of the longest trigger throw. IMO they were really a wash and it comes down to personal preference over which trigger shape you like (personally I do like that of the XL.)
I just upgraded my standard P365 with a Wilson Combat XL frame, tungsten weights and converted the 12 round magazines to 14 rounds with a Magguts plus 2 kit. Now I have 14 plus 1 in 9mm pocket gun that's so easy to carry and is reliable.
@@resolute492 Well as a new gun owner I don't really have much to compare it to except an even smaller pistol which was really unruly this one seems to go where I point it it still a little bit jumpy because of how small it is but it's controllable and I love having those 15 bullets. Another great review; thanks! The porting on a small carry pistol is a deal breaker for some of us because of the gases and flash at close quarters. The original, but with a 12-rd magazine for a reload, still looks like the winner; wish Sig would include a 12-rounder in the box.

Got the latest ones as of 2021. XL+RDS and SAS. I prefer the SAS because for me the green dot is always in front of my eye every time. The XL+RDS not so good, even though I try to focus on sight notch first and then look for the dot I find myself spending more time with the RDS.
Thank you for this comment. First time gun buyer and I'm a little conflicted about whether the sights will set me up for difficulty when/if I decide to purchase more guns and are used to the SAS sights. But hearing ppl say they are good from the CC perspective for quick acquisition like they're supposed to makes me feel better about going for the SAS over any RDS ready sig.
I bought the 365xl with a Romeo and I added a Hogue handgrip and I bought a 15 round mag to keep in the car because it is a little uncomfortable compared to the 12 round mags but I really enjoy carrying it everywhere I go and when I do open carry with my G-17 I still conceal my Sig I highly recommend anyone looking for a sub compact to look into any of them including the newest one not shown because it wasn’t released yet
Chris, I am really glad you explained what "SAS" stands for. Because, silly person that I am, thought it must be the Special Air Service model. Hmmm. Possibly what I was supposed to think?
I'm thinking I'll have to get an XL to go along with my standard 365, and mix & match according to my needs (or whims). Might be making a trip to Chris's place in the near future.
You mentioned that you have to turn the slide release on the SAS once you put the slide back on. Shouldn’t be the case, mine automatically locks back into place.
I've just started looking at Handguns for home defense, and later when I'm comfortable with it, concealed carry. I've watched several P 365 xl reviews and I noticed a couple other differences that you didn't mention and thought I'd pass them on for your viewers. I was told the mag receiver is slightly flared for easier mag insertion, and the slide has a longer sloped bevel at the front for less snag also. The xl also fits the 365 sig open ended holster, but will obviously stick out the open end.
@6:50 or so, front ports on the P365 SAS. Would the gases coming out of these ports be a possible hazard to the shooter, especially if the gun is held across the chest (close to the face) during a defense situation? @5:35, the bull's eye sight. Can it be replaced with a red dot (from SIG)?
I got one yesterday from PAFB bx and it did not come in Sig Sauer box.I also picked up a Victory which wasn't in the correct box. They do have an all sales final stamp red inked on reciept. The Victory was sold for less than price marked.
So the SAS version can use that 15 magazine? I hope so that'd be cool. It makes it a 15+1? I'm totally new and looking for a gun that's small - this seems to be a great size considering that capacity.
Firing pin drag is just a part of the "mini" 9mm be it Sig, S&W, Springfield, etc. Sig had .05% fire pin (as of quantities sold mid 2019) that weren't properly heat treated so it broke. It's been corrected of course.
I would like the XL a lot better if they went with the curved trigger instead of the straight one. If I bought one I would be buying a curved trigger to swap out the for straight one.
What a GREAT comparison review! This was so helpful. I am a long-time handgun enthusiast, but I never got my concealed carry license. In the process of applying for it only now... As a woman, I'm concerned about how well I will be able to conceal things. Lots of my wardrobe is light colored and sheer fabrics, so I am considering purchasing a sand or coyote colored firearm (and holsters/bands, etc.), because that may help it to blend into my skin tone underneath my clothing. Any thoughts about that? Also, I am on the fence about whether or not I will want to carry something without a safety. I know, I know...train and use a good holster protecting the trigger guard; essential in this configuration. But as someone who has only practiced with safeties at the range, I'm just feeling hesitant. But I am willing to train with whatever I do choose to carry (I'm also considering the Walther PPS [another one with no safety] and the Sig 320 compact). Any suggestions or opinions on any of the above??? Thanks!
From experience both the p365 sas and p320 compact would be good choices, the compact has slightly less recoil but is a fair bit bigger, and the p365 sas isn't a snappy gun it's pleasant to shoot... that said as the p365 sas is my gun I'm probably a little biased.
I have the 365, 365XL, and the SAS slide and I mix and match depending on what I’m wearing. I also have the 320X Compact which is a great pistol but much harder to conceal than any of the 365’s. Summer I carry one of my 365’s. As soon as it cools off it’s either the 320 or I love my P229 Legion. It’s the Rolls Royce of hand guns if you ask me.. Go out and shoot them all and see what you think?

But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't snag a P365, for the life of me, thanks to 2020 madness! On some websites, I would actually find one, and by the time I hit BUY NOW, it would be sold right out from under me! So, I decided to go with a runner-up that I was ACTUALLY able to get my hands on: the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 2.0. I figured it was better to have SOMETHING, rather than nothing. I'm looking to get a P365 as my first pistol. I'm going to sign up for concealed carry classes as well. I'm wondering if getting the XL is worth it over the original for the extra barrel length and finger space. I'm also a 5'10" male and about 150lbs. I guess I'm wondering if it'll be too bulky or do the benefits of the bigger gun outweigh the compact size of the original. Would love some input!
P365XL height 4.25"?? As of Aug 2021 the Sig website says the P365XL height is 4.8", which is nearly 1/2" more then what this video is saying. That's a fairly large amount in regards to a CCW pistol.

Chris: I purchased a 365 XL an I'm still doing research because the supply house is on back order. I've seen videos of the XL with problems and other videos with claims of thousands of rounds and no hick ups/malfunctions. I have a Smith M&P 9c and a Shield 380 EZ. If you are familiar with those two, how does the recoil on the XL compare to those two? Thank you.
I think it's ridiculous to put barrel and slide ports on a dedicated carry gun where you can guaranty that the ports will collect sweat, dirt, and lint. How much will those affect the operation is open to debate, but I'm not a fan.
17:30 ish mark. We call those slide stops not slide releases. In high stress situations minor motor functions disappear and we train for major muscle movements. We should never be training to use the "slide release" (a fictitious part of a gun). Always rack the slide. Otherwise GREAT video...thank you. I love my XL.
So basically if I get a Sig P365 SAS micro, I won’t have to worry about recalls and bad firing pins ? Someone please advise. It’s a P366 vs G43/43z as my next carry.

In the video you said the sas doesn't take the normal 10 round mags from the original 365. It looks like it does so I just wanted to make sure
It takes the 10 rnd mags yes
Excellent assessment!!
Slide length according to your specs....5 3/4" and 6 1/2" = 3/4" difference, not 1 1/2" as you stated... :)
Can i install Romeo optic into the SAS slide??
Great review!
I have no problem with the bulls eye sight, I just wish it was tritium
Chris, are you still able to get messages on here? I have a question regarding the XL
Enjoyed the clip!
This is excellent presentation 🙏👍🏻♥️💥
I need two 15+1 in a high end 2-gun shoulder rig.
P365XL height 4.25"?? As of Aug 2021 the Sig website says the P365XL height is 4.8", which is nearly 1/2" more then what this video is saying. That's a fairly large amount in regards to a CCW pistol.
Have the 365 NRA Coyote Love it Found a great full grip for the 15 rounders from Tactical Development Really Sweet Have Vid out on those I ended up painting them to match Coyote.🇺🇸🍻🤜🏻
Hi, No Pro. I just posted a comment above, regarding my desire to get a sand or coyote colored carry gun. I tend to wear very light colored, sheer fabrics (in FL). Would you mind adding your thoughts to that thread above? I just posted it. Also, can I paint any gun in any color? Is that a custom request that I give the manufacturer, or can I do that after market? Thank you!

@@NoPro1962 , thank you so much for that info! Great suggestions! I will definitely check out your channel and the others you recommend. Regarding doing a search for women's concealed carry options, believe me, I've been all over it, and I subscribe to most of the female CCW channels. I research everything I get into, and money is definitely a consideration for me, so I really want to get it right. OK, see you 'round!
Thank you.
How does 5.8 in length equal over an inch difference from 6.5 inches? Isn't that more like 0.7 inches and well less than an inch?
Glad I'm not the only who caught that. Good work!
I’m here scratching my brain too lol. Otherwise, great review by him though
I think it's ridiculous to put barrel and slide ports on a dedicated carry gun where you can guaranty that the ports will collect sweat, dirt, and lint. How much will those affect the operation is open to debate, but I'm not a fan.
Such a cool weapon 👍🏻
17:30 ish mark. We call those slide stops not slide releases. In high stress situations minor motor functions disappear and we train for major muscle movements. We should never be training to use the "slide release" (a fictitious part of a gun). Always rack the slide. Otherwise GREAT video...thank you. I love my XL.
Awesome video thank you. 😊
So basically if I get a Sig P365 SAS micro, I won’t have to worry about recalls and bad firing pins ? Someone please advise. It’s a P366 vs G43/43z as my next carry.
At the end of the day, which model is better or recommended? sorry! I do not speak English. Greetings from Argentina!
