I have owed all three of these pistols. The first was the Sig which I liked, but I would always get a blister on my trigger finger from the sharp edge of the bottom of the trigger. This was after about 50 rounds. The second was the Hellcat which hurt my thumb joint do to the squared off back strap. Both pistols felt good in my hand just to hold, but were uncomfortable to actually shoot. I have large hands, so maybe they were just too small. The 43X is definitely the most comfortable. I usually shoot 150 to 200 round every time I go to the range and the 43X is nearly as comfortable to shoot as my 19. I use the Shield Arms 15 round magazines which also gives the 43X the same capacity as the 19. I have seen a few reliability issue video concerning the Shield Arms magazines but I have never had a single issue with any of the three mags I own with hundreds of rounds through each.

Glock fan here, purchased 365for carry. 15 rounds in a small footprint. , Picked up another 365 , the SAS …. I rented Hellcat at range for fun. Purchased Hellcat OSP. I really like the Hellcat. SAS… don’t wast your money guys. Not a fan, not practical. I got caught up in the hype. Hellcat…Hell yeah! Note: double stack mag can be difficult to load. I use speed loader , but Glock 43x may be the gun for you. Single stack mag is nice.

I use these 3 exact guns in my rotation for edc. All 3 are excellent and reliable. The hellcat is my preferred weapon because of the grip. All 3 perform exceptionally well.

I've watched so many videos and to date it's the same story over and over. The Sig is almost always liked better by women because the grip isn't as rough and there's a tad less recoil. Men like the hellcat because of the feel of the grip but like the ladies mention more recoil. Glock owners are faithful and will always choose their Glock over any other. It's great to have choices but at the end of the day number one factor is reliability.

I own the 43X and love it. Perfect size for my hand and Glock reliability. I have put about 1000 rounds through it with different types of 9mm and it eats it all. No malfunctions yet. I do like what Sig is trying to do with the SAS, a friend of mine owns one, but I think they missed the mark. I have not handled or shot a Hellcat yet so I can not comment on it.

I would be careful with those steal mags. The mag catch is plastic and the steal mag will cut through it in time with lots of vibration from shooting. They do make after market steal mag catches that are safe to shoot with those mags. Just a heads up.

Due to the added grip length, the glock 43X is no longer a micro compact pistol, the glock 43 would be the right comparison but it only holds 6 rounds. The issue here is to pick a 43 over a hellcat with such great difference in magazine capacity, between the hellcat and the p635, it comes down to personal choice, only 1 round difference.

    • @MDpolo

The purpose of this video was to showcase the two new pistols (Hellcat and SAS) in comparison to my current EDC which is the G43x. It is not meant to be a category comparison video. But there is more to comparing the Hellcat and P365 SAS than just one extra round. They feel completely different in the hand. The balance is different and the sight picture is different. Plenty to influence the decision in addition to one extra round. Thanks for watching!

I own both the Springfield Hellcat, and the P365 SAS, but my 365, does Not have a ported Barrel. Awesome video! I had a Glock43 and I carried (AIWB) for 6months, find the grip is too short when you need to draw the gun. So I decided to sell it. My only 9mm now is the Shield, but I need more capacity with it. The Shield comes with 7+1 flushed mag and an 8+1 mag extension.
I did measure my Shield 9mm slide and grip length (8+1 extended mag) and exactly the same as the Glock 43x (6” slide and 5” grip from top of slide)
The Shield is also single stack magazine, but I like the Glock 43x better (lower center bore) and footprint for carry is not as wide as the Shield when you measure from top of the slide to the bottom of the trigger guard.
I’m ordering the G43x today! Thanks for thr video comparison.

There IS a 15 round all metal magazine for the Glock 43X, also, which at the very least would make the extra height for something useful... I have NO IDEA why Glock insists on covering their magazines with a polymer sleeve... Just make the damned things out of steel like every other manufacturer and there is more room for ammo, or you could make your pistols just that little bit smaller. Either way, if you use the all steel 15 rnd, then it could be considered "relatively" the same height considering I think the 15 rnd P365 magazine would make the P365 the same height.

I have a 43x and from experience the long grip constantly snags when I carry IWB. For a 10 round mag it's a little too long. I was leaning towards the Sig SAS, but in low light visibility I'm not sure the sights make it worth it. The Hellcat with a shorter grip and 11+1 or 13+1 seems like the better choice for me.

    • @MDpolo

Yes, agreed. I really thought Sig had something with the SAS, but I was very disappointed on how dim those sights are in the dark. Thanks for watching and cheers.

Just got a Glock 43X today and I absolutely LOVE it. Easy to conceal and feels great in my hands. Not a fan of the 365 due to no safety at all. Wasn’t impressed with the hellcats grip. Overall the 43X had everything I was looking for. Not to mention shield has a 15 Round magazine which I’ll be picking up once available.

+MoonLight Productions - congrats! I like the G43x but have been spending time with the G48 and really like it. I don’t understand your comment regarding the P365 having “no safety at all.” It has all the internal safeties of a striker-fired pistol. In addition, you can get it with an external safety if you wish. The only safety missing is the trigger “dingus”. Thanks for watching and cheers!

I picked up the Hellcat yesterday. (11/27/19) Put 200 rounds of FMJ and 25 JHP through it. No malfunctions. This will be replacing my G43 as my EDC. I plan on keeping the G43. It is an awesome pistol. I just wanted something with more capacity that would conceal as well as the G43. The Hellcat is about the same size as the G43 with the 11 round mag & flat base plate vs. the 6 round G43 mag. It's going to take some practice to get comfortable with the Hellcat. It does have a bit more recoil. I was all over the place with my first few mags. The trigger is a bit on the heavy side compared to the G43. I'm hoping this changes after I put some more rounds through it. The grip on the Hellcat feels slippery to me. (all polymer frame pistols feel slippery to me) I will be putting some grip tape on it just as I did for the G43. So far so good. Only time will tell if it will be as reliable as my G43 has been.

The porting on the sas is a good thing .. if you are shooting the gun from retention in a self defense situation . Last thing I care about is a little gas. Kinda silly thing to be a issue for someone

    • @rcrehab9623
      @rcrehab9623 4 года назад +1

@JusticeAA if you are jacked up adrenaline and shooting a snappy gun rapidly any muzzle control or Target control advantage is always praised. But for some reason people look at ports(one of the easiest things you can do to midigate recoil ) as a bad thing . I have a carry gun with porting . I also shoot from retention as long as you are using good high end deffence ammo that won't splinter as it passes the ports all you will feel is wind . If shooting from a ludicrously high retention point is the only way you can experience anything uncomfortable. This is a experienced shooter talking from experience and have shot porting from these positions I know what I am speaking on.

the mag pinky extension on the hellcat and the sig might not drop when releasing the mag because you have it grasped. you might do this inadvertadly, not knowing you are doing it. One of the great features of the Glock 43X a full grip on the handle. what are your thoughts on this hang up of mags not dropping?

    • @MDpolo
      @MDpolo  4 года назад

That’s a good point Jesus. However, I have used extensions in several pistols like the Shield, Glock 43, Glock 26 and Walther PPS and I have never experienced that issue. I’m not implying that it could not happen, but it has not been my experience. You do make a good point with the G43x. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

I put one of these meprolight sights on a Kahr .40 cal and then I ported the barrel and slide through the front sight holes. I widened the holes in the slide and ported the barrel so they matched up. It was a fun project but I hated that gun. I hated the sight and I hate .40 cal. Snappy and high pressure. Got the hellcat last week it was hell trying to find one it’s sold out everywhere around me in every gun stores I pick up the Non OSP because I don’t really care much about optic sights what I think of it i love it with a few draw backs tho it fits great in my hands I large hands and love the sights love the quality of the build and love the double stack rounds it can fit inside my side pockets easy the draw back since it is micro it’s a tad bit snappy the grip texture ain’t really all that and the mags are a pain to Load without a bullet feeder tool over all tho I love it first CCW my 13 + 1 is the biggest factor for CCW I was looking for something ready to go in terms of reliability and functionality which can easily be conceal & carry a good amount of rounds I paid 520 for mine which was $60 more than the G43x which isn’t drastic I personally think it’s better than the G43x and Sig SAS

I own all of these shown guns, I have all three offerings of the Sig P365, and a few 43 and 43X's and now the Hellcat, I find all three to be excellent carry guns in their own way, I carry daily and find I use different EDC guns based on my clothing needs at that time, I'm partial to the Sigs though, and even with my large hands they fit great and the guns are totally accurate if I do my part, my Hellcat is new to me and I fell will work out just fine, for sure I really don't need all these guns, but I enjoy my guns, and that's every one of them, nice review and thanks for sharing..

Concerning the porting on the sas, the only time it’s really a concern is if you’re seated in your car shooting out. I own a Glock 21C as a truck gun, so I’ve thought about it a lot! I’ve come to the realization that if you index the magazine on your chest as you shoot it’ll direct all that gas and particulate away from you. In most other situations you’ve gotta be right up on the port for it to cause any sort of issue as far as I’m concerned. That’s just my school of thought on porting.

Only when the extended mag is empty and then it rattles. I can't get past the pinching my hand when using the extended mag using either hand when shooting.
I wanted to like this gun but-PASS. As for the 43X it's going to print with conceal carry. 5" grip compared to the 4" Hellcat grip and the 4.3" P365 grip. I don't compare the slides to show the length differences I use TOTAL length from the bottom rear of the grip to the from of the slide. Glock 43X slide 6.06" but over all length is 6.5" and 6" on the Hellcat and 5.8" on the P365. You can hide slide length easier than the grip length.

I'll still be shooting the 43x...
The hellcat is imported by a shitstain company who activity tried to screw gunowners, and sig wanted me to send back TWO of their 365s a total of 6 times because they were shit from the factory... Meanwhile my Glock is still running 100%, cost less, and has better aftermarket support.

I REALLY don't think the Glock 43 can be compared to the other 2 tbh. I think the hellcat and 365 are in a league of their own. I DO think Glock hasn't made the gun that competes with these 2 but I have a feeling sometime, probably in this next decade, they will make the perfect 9mm 10 round (maybe 11 or 12 to compete with hellcat) micro pistol and I would more than likely buy it in a heartbeat if it works as well as I'd imagine

I hear what you’re saying, but the premise I was going on was - which one of the three would I pick as a carry pistol. So from my point of view, all three were competing for a spot in my every day carry holster. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment.

Good comparison video but you should show them all with flat mag baseplates like the Glock. Glock 43x is barely in the same class for concealment. Largest grip but only 10 rounds, come on Glock.

You are absolutely correct about the base plates. I actually didn’t think about that until after. You’re also correct on the 10 rounds from Glock... Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

You said about the G43X said, "Largest grip but only 10 rounds, come on Glock.
I hear this a lot on RUclips when guns are compared i.e. the gun with the larger round count get top marks.
Since you said *TheDvanlen10,* "...but only 10 rounds,..." could you expand & explain:
1 - What you meant by that.
2 - why is that sounds like a negative in CCW when the average CCW shooting involves 2 to 4 shots no matter how many attackers there are.
3 - What is the number of bullets (IYO) a carry gun should have (remember more bullets more weight) - 10, 12, 14, 15, 20, 32??
4 - Also, if a person emptied 10 or 11 bullets into someone is that really a self-defense shooting or is that a murder (ref. by law use only enough force to stop the threat).
5 - You also said, "...the Glock 43x is barely in the same class for concealment.". The G43X is a top seller for CCW, I used to carry a G26 around, now I carry the G43X because it is lighter, thinner, easier to conceal. My question: what did you mean by, "barely in the same class for concealment."
That sounds odd to me from my use of the G26 & now G43X in CCW around the USA.
      - By saying, "...come on Glock." in reference to the G43X. Do you know that the G43 (non-X) is available with a shorter handle.
      - If you state, "But the G43 only has 6 rounds," please answer above questions 1 through 3 and question 5 for the G43.
Thanks, answer completely and I will share my thoughts & experience after.
      God bless

sweetcostarica sorry, I didnt want to write a whole essay on it just a quick comment. My comment relates to the direction the technical advancements are taking us. When the Sig p365 came out and now the Hellcat, many think this a new class of ccw firearm. Micro size and high capacity. Crucial size being grip length because thats the hardest part to conceal. You point is correct, do you need that capacity? I guess thats up to the individual. Would the marketing depts like you to believe you NEED that capacity? Absolutely. Fwiw, I carry a Kahr CM 9, 6 +1 capacity and don’t have a problem with it.

@@TheDvanlen10 We have a lot of time to even write a book on-line to share knowledge. This is not a difficult thing & the information can and does help others.
Of course it is your right *TheDvanlen10* NOT to answer my questions. This is my way: I like to completely cover a topic with questions for others so I can understand where they are coming from. Then I put forth my argument.

MY POINTS (answered as I promised)
Anyway, so getting more bullets into a smaller magazine is a technical advancements and a innovation? Yes, it is. Is that "breakthrough" important?
No, not really with CCW firearms by the street data and round count in actual shootings (see: *Active Self Protection* RUclips videos and count the bullets).
Round count in a CCW gun and even in a duty gun (talking about the backup guns LEOs carry):
      - Adds weight
      - Adds unneeded weight if more than 6 to 10 rounds
      - Is not needed in actual self-defense (IMO and according to the FBI shooting data)
      SUPPORTING DATA
      (Posted in 2006)
The Armed Citizen - A Five Year Analysis
      OVERVIEW OF SURVEY
For the period 1997 - 2001, reports from "The Armed Citizen" column of the NRA Journals were collected. There were 482 incidents available for inclusion in the analysis. All involved the use of firearms by private citizens in self defense or defense of others. No law enforcement related incidents were included. The database is self-selecting in that no non-positive outcomes were reported in the column.
      DATA ANALYSIS
As might be expected, the majority of incidents (52%) took place in the home. Next most common locale (32%) was in a business. Incidents took place in public places in 9% of reports and 7% occurred in or around vehicles.
The most common initial crimes were armed robbery (32%), home invasion (30%), and burglary (18%).
Overall, shots were fired by the defender in 72% of incidents. *The average and median number of shots fired was 2.* When more than 2 shots were fired, it generally appeared that the defender's initial response was to fire until empty. It appears that revolver shooters are more likely to empty their guns than autoloader shooters. At least one assailant was killed in 34% of all incidents. At least one assailant was wounded in an additional 29% of all incidents. Of the incidents where shots are fired by a defender, at least one assailant is killed in 53% of those incidents.
Handguns were used in 78% of incidents while long guns were used in 13%; in the balance the type of firearm was not reported. The most common size of handgun was the .35 caliber family (.38, .357, 9mm) at 61%, with most .38s apparently being of the 5 shot variety. Mouseguns (.380s and below) were at 23%, and .40 caliber and up at 15%.
The range of most incidents appears to be short but in excess of touching distance. It appears that most defenders will make the shoot decision shortly before the criminal comes within arm's length. Defenders frequently communicate with their attackers before shooting.
The firearm was carried on the body of the defender in only 20% of incidents. In 80% of cases, the firearm was obtained from a place of storage, frequently in another room.
*Reloading was required in only 3 incidents.* One of those involved killing an escaped lion with a .32 caliber revolver, which was eventually successful after 13 shots.
Multiple conspirators were involved in 36% of the incidents. However, there were no apparent cases of getaway drivers or lookouts acting as reinforcements for the criminal actor(s) once shooting starts. At the sound of gunfire, immediate flight was the most common response for drivers and lookouts.
When multiple conspirators were involved, the first tier was a two man action team. If another member was available, he was usually the driver of the getaway car and remained in the car. If a fourth conspirator was involved, he was stationed immediately outside the target location as a lookout for the police or other possible intervening parties. The outside conspirators do not generally appear to be armed. It does appear that the trend over the period has increased from one weapon in the action team to two weapons.
The largest group of violent criminal actors was 7, a group that committed serial home invasions in Rochester NY. An alert and prepared homeowner, who saw them invade an adjacent home, accessed his shotgun, and dispatched them (2 killed and 1 seriously wounded) when they broke in his door.
Incidents rarely occurred in reaction time (i.e., ¼ second increments). Most commonly, criminals acted in a shark-like fashion, slowly circling and alerting their intended victims. The defender(s) then had time to access even weapons that were stored in other rooms and bring them to bear.
The most common responses of criminals upon being shot were to flee immediately or expire. With few exceptions, criminals ceased their advances immediately upon being shot. Even small caliber handguns displayed a significant degree of instant lethality (30 per cent immediate one shot kills) when employed at close range. Many criminal actors vocally expressed their fear of being shot when the defender displayed a weapon. Upon the criminals' flight, the "victims" frequently chased and captured or shot the criminals and held them for the authorities.
      CONCLUSIONS
      1) Even small caliber weapons are adequate to solve the vast majority of incidents requiring armed self-defense.
      2) Mindset of the potential victim was far more important than the type of weapon used. All the victims were willing to fight their opponents in order to survive. Although not common, in some cases bridge weapons, such as pens, were used to gain time to access the firearm.
      3) Frequently, the defenders were aware that something was amiss before the action started and then placed themselves in position to access their weapons. Awareness of the surroundings appears to be a key element of successful defense.
      4) The defenders had some measure of familiarity with their firearms. Although perhaps not trained in the formal sense, they appear to be able to access a firearm and immediately put it into action. At least one defender learned from a previous experience and made the firearm more accessible for subsequent use.
      5) Training or practice with a firearm should include a substantial amount of accessing the firearm from off body locations, such as drawers, underneath counters, etc.
      6) This analysis does not present a view of the totality of armed self-defense in that non-positive outcomes were not available for inclusion in the database. The analysis may, however, be useful in helping to describe a methodology for successful armed self-defense. This methodology might be described as: 1. be aware, 2. be willing to fight, 3. have a weapon accessible, 4. be familiar enough with the weapon to employ it without fumbling, 5. when ready, communicate, both verbally and non-verbally, to the attacker that resistance will be given, and 6. if the attacker does not withdraw, counterattack without hesitation.
