Okay, for the Sig haters and for the drama-loving conspiracy-theory enthusiasts, the slide DID need a bump to get into battery at some point while I was shooting. This happens with almost any semi-auto pistol occasionally if you've been shooting awhile or the gun is dirty, less with some than others, and almost never with some. Anyway, it's just a natural reflex when shooting, at least for people who actually shoot. :-) As always, whatever happens in the video, happens in the video so that everybody can see it. The failure to go into battery was on a reload. Bought this as my very first gun. I turn 27 this year and figured it’s time for me to learn how to shoot. Added a little red laser to it. Using for home protection and concealed carry when I go out of town. I have so much to learn, but I have a feeling I just found a wealth of knowledge and some laughs on your channel.

Congrats miss! Keep practicing/training and please encourage more ladies to learn to defend themselves and exercise their rights! You’ve chosen a wonderful first firearm. Good call.
Shot my new P365 today at the range. No stovepipes, no misfires, no nothin, it worked perfectly with 10 and 12 round mags and was very accurate. It's a keeper.
Bought mine in 4/19. After cleaning my weapon first, have fired over 1000+ rounds it has not had one issue. I shoot 147 gr bullets and my pistol loves them. I recommend this weapon as very reliable. Good wishes and be safe to all.
Bought one early 2019 because it fits my "small" hands. Shot over 1000 rounds and it hasn't hick up one time. NO issues. Damn fine conceal carry pistol.
@@iceman5006 True. I can shoot ok with a full-size pistol, put a compact but especially a subcompact or smaller pistol in my hand, and I really have to work at it to shoot what I am aiming at. I've learned two things. 1. Lots of practice is needed. 2. The smaller the pistol, the harder it is to keep it where you want it. Smaller is for closer firing usually. Hicock45 makes everything look so easy to do.

Bought this p365 a couple week back to replace my glock 19 for conceal. Lov my glock 19, threw 8k+ rounds and never fell once. Concealing a g 19 appendix can get tired at time and when I wear tight shirt or print noticeable. What can I say I absolutely love the p365. Almost as much as my glock 19. I shoot so naturally with the glock 19 so p365 I need to get a hang of but I lov thr trigger pull on it, silky smooth.put about 300-400rounds on it so far and is flawless. The 12rounds mag does help with my grip. So now p365 is my conceal and my g19 is home defense. Happy camper.
I chose the P365 after comparing with the G43 and Shield. The 10rd (12rd optional) mags and the compact size make it an excellent choice for every day carry. 15rd mags available now, great for range days.
This SIG pistol is one of the very few "wonder nines" that actually fit my hand right. Most have grips that are too fat for my grip, and I am a large guy. These are well designed
"Dont forget those things, I'll be quizzing you later" I forget that this wonderful man was once a school teacher. Keep on keepin on Hickock. You are awesome!
another great video Hickok45. I just got the wife one of these for 565. Came with 2 10 round and 1 12 round. I have to say we love this little gun. It's so nice...Hoping to shoot it this week. We brought it down to Gatlinburg on vacation...she carried it the entire way in the car and had no complaints about it feeling uncomfortable.
Hi just wanted to say your P365 video was incredibly educational as well as useful. Great to see a gentleman who really knows his firearms. Thanks for your efforts , very appreciative.
Held one today for the first time, really fit well. Working the deal. It's lightly used with (2) 10 round magazines and (1) 12 round magazine. Has the manual safety as well. The dealer is asking $ 400.
Absolutely ,positively the best carry pistol on the market today. And that is coming from the owner of a Glock 43, 26, 19 and 32. I actually sold my G43 and G26 in the last few weeks. The trigger on the P365 is GREAT right out of the box, much better than the Glock. And the 12 round mag is truly a "game changer"
My son-in-law is SWAT. He and half the team use the p365 for edc. I bought one after he took me shooting with his. Remarkably comfortable to fire for a light 9mm and quick to get back on target. If you have larger hands, the XL version will probably feel more comfortable and only adds .5 inch to your length.
brother, its not fair...why not have an average size dude in there holding these pistols ..so we can get an accurate representation of said pistols ..Gotcha...just kidding...Job well done, and your videos are awesome.
As soon as I saw it next to something I could compare to, a Shield, decided I might not need it as bad as I thought. Grip might be a bit small (thin)? for what I like. More willing to wait and see if any problems develop over a few months then maybe give it a try. Think most people will like it.
@@dexf7787 hold it tight and squeeze the trigger, don't "pull it". Sights need to stay on target through the trigger break. Short sight radius means any movement while pulling the trigger is exaggerated.
I fell in love with the weight, grip and accuracy of the Sigs years ago when I was re-learning about firearms when I became a CO. I love Sigs, I own a P226 in 9mm that's definitely a keeper. I also own a Glock 19 gen 3 that I bought as a carry piece. But I'm impressed and very curious to learn more and possibly own a p365. I love the information in your video's
Picked up the first Sig p365 to arrive at The Outpost Armory in Middle Tennessee today. Played with it for awhile disassembling and cleaning, and in general just getting used to it. As usual Mr. H45 was right on! Light recoil, accurate, great trigger, and performed flawlessly! "Life is Good"
Ok, 500 rds of Winchester white box 124gr cycled through my p365 with nary a glitch. Yesterday UPS delivered 1000 rds of Speer Lawman 124gr. First 50 rds thru with no problems. Twelve rd mag received and used with no issues. Easy to forget you are carrying this firearm. Found a handmade IWB leather holster from a pawn shop with Paraguay stamped on the back that fits perfectly! "Life is Good"🔫
This dude is a hell of a shot. I own this same gun. It’s a very comfortable gun to carry. I’m working on my accuracy with it. They say it’s only accurate up to about 25 yds, and that’s about what my limitations are with it.
THAT.. is the allure of shooting metallic silhouette or good gongs .. Instant gratification and if you miss.. the sound of silence and the target not falling will sink your heart. Dave from South Georgia..
Been waiting for Mr. Hickok to make this video, been waiting to see this pistol in action since I've heard about it. I knew he would deliver like always thank you !
I recently bought one in 2020 and they give you 3 x 12 round mags which is amazing for such a small gun. It’s been great and easy to shoot and super accurate.
I just recently bought this gun and it came with a holster w/ different attachments, a case, and 3 twelve round magazines. I love it! This guy's videos are great and he provides very good details when it comes to the qualities of weapons.
I'm just learning about the P365 9mm, I will rent one at the range the next time I go. I own two Shields and will do a comparison on my own. Can't wait.
Have carried mine daily for about a year. It easily has 2500+ rounds through it. Its been a great gun. It went into Sig a few months ago because it was starting to have an issue with extraction. But it was rock solid up until that and has been since I got it back.
At $499 in my local shop with a 10+1 capacity AND tritium sights on the smallest 9mm semi-auto I could find, this is a really good value. Glock 43 is $450-$500. The grip is relatively small, but it works in a strange way that I didn't expect.
Not to mention how VASTLY superior the trigger and sights are. Now, with the introduction of the 15 round mags for range and backup - No need to look any further.
Blake I have one mag that has hollow point ( defense) and my other mag has the practice rounds. Both 9mm- 115grs. I did buy a reloader on Amazon, it’s amazing! I can reload 10 rounds in less than 2 min & it saves my arthritic thumbs!
My Kahr 9's are not as reliable as my Glocks, but the 9mm Kahrs are small and about 90% reliable, and inexpensive compared to the others. But I find I shoot the double stacks better, with less pain. Kahrs 45 is only about 50% reliable due to its small size and tight tolerances. That's why i really like the Glocks (like my Glock 30). I'm interested a double stack 9 as in the P365 because of its size and capacity. I just wonder about its reliability and durability? The G26 is a bit large for a 10 round double stack 9.
I’m new to shooting and I purchased the P365XL for my wife’s birthday last summer - very soon after I purchased my own P365SAS I love them both. Subsequently I’ve purchased several other guns but I love the P365. In my view/experience (limited such as it is) nothing shoots better. Even larger Sig pistols. I own both the P320 compact and the PS2022 Pro 9mm and hands down ...for me it’s (P365) the best. I’m not as tall as you ...only 6’ 5” and hands normal for my size and I still love the comparatively small grips on the P365. I’m finding it’s all about what people prefer/like as much as anything else. Well and the more I shoot the more I’m learning that I don’t know but I’m loving the adventure. I purchased my first revolver just last week the Kimber DASA K6S 2 inch barrel I like it but so far I like it way better as a 38 Special 😂. At the range the day of purchase I fired 50 38 Special rounds and 20 357 Magnum rounds and even as I’m learning to master the grip the 38s are more fun to shoot. They feel like 22s - still I have nothing to compare it too as I’ve never fired anyone else’s 357 Magnum. Anyway keep up the good work your videos are especially helpful to new folks like me. Happy Trails.
i added the SIG front of the trigger to grip laser sight to mine, use the 12 round mags, at about 1k rounds thru it ... not a single issue. excellent piece.
Yup. Never owned a mag loader in my life until I bought a p365. I have one now!!! Cant even imagine a 100-200 round day at the range without a mag loader. Love everything else about the gun though.
Just practice doing it “manual “ before getting spoiled with the loader. If you lose it or don’t have it, it’s nice to be able to load quickly (in the dark if necessary) without it!
Good stuff Hickock45. Im on about a dozen waitlists for one. First gun in a long time that im really stoked about adding to my carry line up. Perfect for Texas summer carry.
When I first saw the Sig P365 advertised, I put every one of my single stack pistols on consignment at the local shop. Ten plus one, night sights out of the box, no trigger pull to disassemble and the size of a single stack.. and you'll get it all for well under $600. Hell, what's not to like?
Fred J3 What facts would that be? Are you unaware of Glock’s past recalls? 🤣. Stone, glass houses and all that....might want to check up on it. I own a G43 and G27, you remain a Glocktard.
I agree with the comment about the Shield not seeing much action since P365 came along. Feels great in hand with the extended mag. Very accurate and night sights are excellent. Pocket or fanny pack is perfect for this gun!!
Yeah, I bought a shield 9mm for concealed carry, then I found a need to pocket carry and it was too big and heavy for that, so I got an RM380... Both the Shield and RM380 are excellent guns, but they both lack the capacity of this one, and not too thrilled about .380 ammo as opposed to 9mm. Now this could probably replace both. I probably wouldn't like the weight though for pocket carry. My RM380, fully loaded +chamber and holster weighs just under 1lb 2 ounces. I never know i'm carrying it.
I have enjoyed shooting my SIG P365. I have run over 500 rounds through my personal P365, as well as a couple hundred through a rental. During that process, I never cleaned or lubed the gun. I also tried to induce failures via severe limp wristing over 200 of those rounds. Never once did my P365 bobble a round or fail to go fully into battery. Some folks have claimed that thousands of failure-free rounds still wouldn't prove that the P365 is reliable. If that's their opinion, then that's fine. SIG hating is the hottest thing in the firearms world today since the zombie fad. My own experience has been positive so far, and I would not hesitate to recommend the P365 to my friends. PS - I always recommend testing ANY new firearm to your personal satisfaction before carrying it, as ANY individual firearm (Glocks included) can have possible issues that need to be addressed.
So the Sig P365 was my 1st gun in my life ( in 60s ). Bought 8 magazines for it & went to the range shooting 160 rounds of Magtech FMJ 115gr. All without a problem. I also bought the Green Laser LIMA 365 for it. Really like it so far. Also have 2 , 12 round mags that add some grip length. Need to get that CCW license now.
@William Ortega yeah that why their no AD;S in most of his videos , bro you know how much money this man was making , and then BAM , Lost half of his money ! soooo yeah pay this man
Bought my first P365 and bought a couple of 12rd magazines, damn! This thing makes me look like a good shooter, not hickok45 good, but much better than I have ever shot before! Like the old Alabama song, "she's close enough for perfect for me".
If you like to carry a handgun in your pocket and can shoot these little handguns well it’s probably a good little handgun. I don’t care for any of these really small handguns because I don’t like to carry a handgun in my pocket and it just feels really small in my hand but so does the Glock 43. I carry my FN 509 midsize that fits my hand much better which makes me or anyone more accurate plus it holds 15+1 but if you can shoot a small handgun well and like carrying in your pocket the Glock, Sig and a few others make some really small handguns now. Good luck with your SIG P365 I like their larger handguns.
My Dad just purchased one of these for my Mom for Christmas 🎄. I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she opens this Christmas present 🎁. Here watching your informative review video on it!! Great job and thank you for doing this one 😊
The first P365 I ever shot was the SAS. It had that odd bullseye sight on it, but overall it was amazing. I ended up collecting a few of these guys since then. Great video as always sir!
Sometimes when he “dry” fires it seems like he’s flinching but he has an instinctive ability to compensate for muzzle rise. Without doubt hickcock 45 is a very good shot. He is a natural shooter. Hope that makes sense.””Hickok45”
My wife has several guns for carry. She’s tried different ones over the years, from a lady Smith revolver, Colt mustang, XDS etc. she likes, and shoots , all of them but has been looking for that “ perfect” carry gun. Size, weight, capacity, ease of use, to suit her. Kind of a Goldilocks gun. Well she tried a 365 sig when a friend told her how much she loved it. She had also tried the hellcat and was about to “ pull the trigger”, until the Sig. She kept telling me how she liked it , so I bought it for her Bday. She couldn’t be happier. In the purse or on the hip, she loves it and shoots it like she’s always had it. Zero malfunctions over several hundred rounds. So small and light, yet it doesn’t feel too small. Now she’s has me wanting one for the hot days in the south when I have to carry a small gun, like the 938 or such for ease of concealment. I too was considering the hellcat, and still wouldn’t pass up a smoking deal on one, but that 365 is probably going to get the nod. She prefers the safety model, I don’t, so there’s a choice there too. It fits the belt or pocket as well as the 938 and has more rounds. To us , it’s a winner.
Mr. Hickok you are a pleasure to watch. We are experiencing an anti gun climate in our nation that is due to a few number of lunatics that have caused such horrible tragedies. However, these select few individuals are not representative of the gun loving community as a whole. Most firearm owners are responsible, respectful, loving individuals that care for their families, friends, neighbors and nation. You sir are such an individual and it brings me great pleasure to tune into your RUclips channel. Thank you for sharing this review of the much anticipated P365. Sadly, I live in California and I cannot purchase this firearm here. (I know I can move but I love LA) I live vicariously thru you and your videos, and respect your opinions and thoughts. Keep up the great work!
I feel as though the 9mm Glock 26 should have a thinner grip. Instead, it has the same grip width as the .40 caliber Glock 27. Sig got it right on this one.
John should definitely be a professional photographer and film movies as well his steady hands behind the camera and great shots and quality plus editing is magnificent
I have this pistol. IMHO, it's the perfect personal defense, concealable pistol. My only nit-pik is that getting the 9th and 10th round in that mag without the mag loader is a PITA!
@@levlev.1028 maybe was an attempt at sophomoric locker room humor/banter that fell flat. That's being generous though. I'd read "liar" and found myself muttering "huh?" then reread your post finding no idea to reason to doubt it. No reason. The jump from a few hundred thousand to +3million... WOW! I very much enjoy this site and do learn from it.
Size of the Glock42 380cal yet the capacity of the Glock26. I believe Sig with 320 and the 365 is surpassing Glock, XD, HK, M&P polymer wonder pistols. A modular system where you can design & custom setup your firearm. GENUIS! I have always have had a phobia of the plastic frame getting destroyed. Especially on a Glock, HK, XD where your slide & barrel are serialized as well. Even if you could get a frame replacement on those firearms from the manufacture you wouldn't be able to get the original serial number on a new frame, do to federal law. Having a true modular firearm that can be full size, carry size, compact size, subcompact size in the P320, & now having the P365 micro subcompact that all have the frame replacement is GENUIS. I just bought a new P365 & was able to get a extra grip modular. I have talon grips on both grip modular one rubber & granulate. I bought a all leather pancake Glock 42 holsters for my p365 and it fits perfect.
Get some quality, reputable training starting with safety. Always keep a firearm pointed in a safe direction. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. Always keep a gun unloaded until ready to use, which includes Home Defense or CC (loaded for both). Mitigate risks around children in the home with quick-access safe.
This pistol has been on the market for a few years now and has certainly dominated over many firearms in it's capacity class. I still like the feel of how the Glock 26 fills the hand over the p365 but the SIG p365 seems to make up for it with better sights and a more responsive trigger. I like Glocks "safe action" trigger but you just really don't get the same sensation against the hard wall thru a plastic trigger as you do with steel which why I still find myself going to a S&W 442 revolver.
I bought mine today! Can hardly wait to try it out on the range. Update: I took it out last weekend, for the second visit to the range, a year plus a couple months post-purchase. It shoots like a dream. Very reliable and accurate. It's my EDC, for a good reason. I couldn't be happier with this CCW pistol. I keep the 12 round mag in it, and have a 15 round spare mag also concealed, just in case.
I have smaller hands with longer fingers I guess (I'm 5'7 or so, so I'm kind of a smaller guy). I didn't really like the grip of the glock 43 and I was generally not as accurate with it as other subcompacts I've shot. The Sig P365 felt super comfortable and I was just as accurate with it as my Walther p99 or a Glock 19.

The 12rounds mag does help with my grip. So now p365 is my conceal and my g19 is home defense. Happy camper.
Was thinking of doing exactly this. Thanks

another great video Hickok45.

I never know if the gun is small or it's being dwarfed in comparison to Hickok's sasquatch proportions.
That's why I like to compare with other commonly owned firearms.

As soon as I saw it next to something I could compare to, a Shield, decided I might not need it as bad as I thought. Grip might be a bit small (thin)? for what I like. More willing to wait and see if any problems develop over a few months then maybe give it a try. Think most people will like it.

I shot my Sig P365 for the first time today - looks like I’m lucky - we shot 200 error free shots today - I love this Gun
I just bought the two tone for 499. I'm really happy with it. It shoots and carries great

I agree with the comment about the Shield not seeing much action since P365 came along. Feels great in hand with the extended mag. Very accurate and night sights are excellent. Pocket or fanny pack is perfect for this gun!!
If I can shoot 1/2 as well as Hicock I'll be just fine.
That side by side comparision with the mags.

They just took mine. Resistance was futile...

Once you learn that bullseye sight, it's like shooting in a video game.

Love this gun only the third 9mm I've owned. But none the less it's my favorite.

I wear tight fitted shirts and the p365 is very easy to carry and doesn't show. Beautiful pistol, is pretty accurate once you get used to it.
