I've had mine for a couple years and have shot several thousand rounds. Eventually I did start to have extraction failures, so I sent it back to SIG. They returned it a week later with the entire top half of the pistol replaced free of charge. Good to know that if you ever do have a problem they'll take care of it for you. I've dealt with far too many other companies who would take their sweet time then finally send the gun back to me essentially unfixed.

What kind of ammo were you shooting and how often do you perform maintenance on your Sig? I read from Sig that some brands of ammo such as Blazer caused casing extraction problems but for the most part most ammo never causes any issues. It’s great they took care of it for you no questions asked! Now that is what I call Technical Support!!! Personally I should Federal Premium 9mm Hydra ShoK Jacketed Hollow Points. It’s one of the best rounds you can get your hands on.

I bought my P365 used. On my first outing at the range with the P365, It broke on the first shot. Dead trigger and the striker would only cock when I turned the gun upside down. I did a little research and this was a common issue on the gen 1 version. I sent it back to sig and they upgraded it with new parts and had it back to my door in 2 days. It’s been flawless so far.

Bought a P365 to carry, and loved it. Wife noticed it one day and asked about it, so I made it safe and let her handle it. She commented on size, weight, and how well it fit her hand, so I asked her to compare to the Glock 19 she was carrying, and she said she liked the feel better. I suggested she try it for a few weeks and let me know if she wanted me to get one for her too.
That was about 6 months ago, and except for cleaning and function checks I haven't handled it since that conversation. I now carry a P365X that I bought when it became clear I was never getting my P365 back. The slightly larger pistol fits my hand better anyway, so it was a good thing - and now we both carry 365's.

Price of ammo has held me back. It replaced my previous carry 1st Gen XDS 3.3 9mm. Loved that pistol but traded it off after getting the P365. Good to hear you have that many rounds through both of them and they are still going. Gives me hope bc I carry this Pistol when I do carry. Only thing I’ve done to mine is put a Talon Grip on it.

Just wondering if the Sig P365 grip that you found a little too small had the extension tab (pinky extension) that Sig is selling with the OEM 365. With the pink extension, I found it large enough to keep all fingers on the handgun and felt comfortable drawing and shooting. But I agree that the Sig P365 with the flat base is sacrificing too much speed in drawing.

Only thing I don't like is that one of the roll pins does sort of come loose every thousand rounds. It's easy to push back in fully, but if I hadn't noticed this happens and adjusted it, it could have potentially become a big problem.

I bought a Glock 43 thinking it would become my EDC gun. I already owned other Glocks that I like and shoot well. I never felt really good with the G43; was more “snappy” than I like and my groups weren’t as good as with most of my other pistols. Then I tried a Sig P365. I love the feel in my hand (grip) and it shoots very well. I also like the larger mag capacities (I upgraded to 12 and 15 rd mags and it still doesn’t print when carrying concealed). Zero malfunctions in the two years I have had mine, and because it is small (easily concealable even when just wearing a t-shirt and shorts) I carry it a lot. I also like the round capacity, fit in my hand(s) and accuracy. Keep up the good stuff Myles.

I got my P365 almost 2 years ago and love it. Carry it every day, as well. From the time I get dressed in the morning, until undressed at night. Around 14 hours a day ? I did catch the base of the mag grip on a ladder and cracked it, so did a trim job on it.
I have both 10 round mags and bought 2 extra 15 round mags. I carry the 10 and have a 15 nearby at all times, then alternate weekly. Haven't shot anywhere near as much as you, but have never had a malfunction. Ever. Love the way it recoils and the follow up 2nd shot. I carry left side (weak side for me) and it handles like a jewel, whether shooting left or right handed. I mostly practice my double taps left handed, then switch to right. Probably not ideal, but on the left, the seat belt doesn't mess with the draw. I'm figuring the odds of needing it in a vehicle are at least 50/50.
It's so comfortable I forget it's there. The profile is small enough that it doesn't hit the arm of a chair when sitting or getting up. A plus for us bigger guys.

My particular manual safety example was born on June 1, 2019. Over 600 rounds of all kinds of ammo and still flawless. I don't keep round counts after a pistol goes much beyond 500 rounds. I don't worry much about the trigger or sights of a close range defensive pistol only meant to be shot up to about 20 yards. Just so long as they do the job for that distance. For longer ranges the trigger and sights are more important. I will say the 365 has the smoothest trigger throughout the pull of any striker I have shot. Can't judge the 365 trigger just by dry firing it. Its pretty bad dry fire. Live fire is the only way to appreciate that smooth pull. Its a micro compact and the smaller the pistol the harder it is to shoot so it does take more practice to stay proficient. More so than my sub compacts. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed your thoughts on the 365 ! I have only fired mine less then 200 rounds and so far so good but that said, I have to say its small size has now pushed me (allowed me) to carry much more due to the comfort issue. Ive had bigger carry handguns and to be honest there were times when i should have taken my carry gun but did NOT because of my gun being somewhat uncomfortable. NOT HERE! With the 365 i almost never leave home without it ...its so conformable!!! Thats a BIG plus in my view. (mine was born June of 2020 so not really sure what Gen it is)

I got this gun a few months ago as a carry weapon and I have really enjoyed it. My girlfriend likes it alot too. She doesn't like my full size because of the muzzle flip but loves to shoot my Sig. We end up both wanting to use it to the point we have to play rock paper scissors for who gets to shoot it first at the range. We have had zero issues as well. The two mag that came with the gun were both 10 round (one flush and on with a small wedge of plastic to give a bit more room to grip but no extra room for rounds) and she wanted the extended (12 round) cause her hands are slightly bigger. Over all we love it and glad to hear its working well for you guys too.

Outstanding review, I own Glocks Sigs H&K pistols but I grew up in the River Quay and learned to shoot from my grandfather who would make wax bullets for us boys so we could practice in the alley behind his house and to this day more often than not I leave the house with a 442 smith with crimson trace grips on it and a couple speed loaders stoked with underwood ammo, oh yeah and a stiletto 🤷‍♂️

I had problems with the 365 I purchased about 8 months after the initial release. Every time I went to the range it would malfunction, regardless of ammo or mags. I traded it in for a Glock 43X and purchased the Shield mags. Everything about the Sig was great ! Except the reliability.
Your presentation makes me want to get another 365… it’s amazing how accurate it is and how well the sights work on that gun.

But when I tried the 365, and applied the fundamentals I was trying on the bigger ones, it all came together and I was seriously in awe at how accurate I could be with it. Been carrying this for about 2 years, so I'm guessing 2nd Gen? No matter, it's been a great reliable, accurate gun. Not one jam or malfunction of any kind. I'm a big Sig fan but your observation about the mag release is spot on, so you have to train a little more with regard to hot reloads etc. Just FYI, Alien Gear makes a fantastic IWB holster for the 365 in case anyone is interested. Thanks for the vid.

I bought my P365 sometime in April of 2021(Born on date of March 2021) I've ran maybe 40 rounds thru it and had failures to feed occurring only with cci blazer 115gr fmj. Not a big deal, its just target ammo. It handles carry ammo just fine though with no malfunctions. But I was more concerned about the rattling sound you mentioned. Mine has done this as well since I bought it but thanks for mentioning it bc I haven't been able to find too much about that rattling anywhere else. Good review, very in depth

I still want an FN 509, but purchased the SIG p365xca macro because it looked like a very concealable gun, has night sights, and I have always wanted to own a SiG. I have yet to shoot this gun, but I shot a std. P365 two weeks ago. It is a tack driver and the flat trigger is the best striker trigger I have ever shot. Damn thing made me give up my 357 j-frames for daily carry. No downsides to this thing. Great video, man. Really appreciate it. Very informative for me. Thank you for that. I also carry p365 everyday at 3 o'clock over two years now. I have November 2018 version. I modified nothing - all parts are original. Loved this gun in every perspective on first sight and I'm not planning to trade it in the near future. I've shot a couple thousand rounds with it and even participated in a few competitions. By the way, no problem with magazine release - not so fast as with Shadow 2, but it went quite smooth. One important thing i have to mention regarding reliability - I use strictly two types of ammo: Hornady American Gunner +P 124 gr XTP for self-defense and Magtech 115 gr for completion/practice. I had extraction issues with other brands and also with Magtech 124 gr.

When the gun is fully assembled, the noise that comes from shaking the pistol is the Safety Lever. The takedown lever also makes noise but that is when the gun is disassembled and you shake it. I own a P365 as well and noticed the same thing you did with the noise. Brand new, I never heard any noise but with use and time, I started noticing it. To my knowledge, it is not anything that will affect the gun or anything to worry about.

Thanks for the review. It certainly makes me feel better about mine. I've never understood how anyone complains about the trigger as the stock one is fine imo.
The only problem I've had is the second-generation firing pin broke at around 800 rounds in my example. I replaced it with a Titanium one and haven't had any more issues but it's only at around 1500 rounds now. Considering the Ti one isn't MIM I don't expect to have anymore issues but that failure still lives in the back of my head.

Due to the ammo shortage I haven't put many thousands of rounds through it in 26 months, but I have put a few thousand rounds and it's been excellent. I had 1 FTE with Russian steel case ammo that might have had a few specs of rust on the case. All FMJ brass case ammo and high end hollow point ammo has been perfect. I carry 12 round mags with Magguts Inc plus 2 converter kits for a 14 plus 1 set up. 15 rounds seems to be very adequate for a conceal carry EDC firearm. Great gun.

If you have a larger hand size and want more grip, buy an XL grip module and swap it on in 2 minutes. Will need a mag with the XL mag base. 12 or 15 rd mags.

Totally stock, yet mine came with a skeletonized flat trigger, like my X5, I am wondering if it is a different gen than the gen2 you have. It is my EDC. Great grip. Compact, comfortable and accurate. Never had an issue. I still love my X5, it is a nail driver, but EDC would be just to burdensome. [edit] You brought up ammo, and I forgot to mention. I have only use 124gr. We have had two of the P365, one for me and one for my wife both CC for over a year. I did research for almost 5 months before getting it narrowed down to 3 pistols before we bought. I knew that the one we purchased needed to be usable and comfortable for both of us. There was a Glock 9mm, the Springfield Hellfire and the SIG P365XL. We went to a range with rental guns to see what would fit us. The stores first suggestion instantly when we told them what we were thinking about was the Glock. I figured that was going to happen based on all the Glock poster and informational fliers on the cabinets. We never even bothered to fire the Glock as to us, it had the worst possible fitting grip. The squared off diagonal handle with no sort of rounded grip annoyed both of us. We took the Hellfire and they didn't have the P365XL available as someone else had it, but one of the instructors did. We tried both on the range and found the SIG to be more accurate for new shooters. More comfortable to hold and just overall what we were going to buy. The guy next to us had the P365 which is slightly different and he asked us to shoot it. We did and saw no real differences until he filled us in. The P365XL was fresh out and ran a bit over $700 at the time. He let us know a local all sport shop had the P365 in stock with a holster, case and two mags for $499. We bought two and have loved it since. Over 2500 rounds in each shot by both of us and also my daughter to be able to protect herself as well. It may be a few years and Thanks to ILLINOIS Gov Jerks it will be longer here for her to get a FOID but she can defend herself with this just as well. Great to see this video showing we made the right choice and we have no future issues to expect.
