    I have 1,000 rounds fired through my Hellcat OSP with APEX Tactical trigger. Use +P ammo and find after practice, recoil concerns fade away. No malfunctions. Easy to carry and conceal. I had a micro RDS on it, but removed it in preference of the iron sights. Shooting handguns for over 30 years in the military and LE, this micro is accurate, reliable, affordable and easy to conceal.

    I might have missed it, due to the prolonged complaints about the u-notch rear sight, but did you state how many malfunctions you both experienced? Kinda think that would be in your "performance" subset. For myself and many others, that u-notch makes that excellent front sight just pop out...That's the most important thing in a fast defensive shooting. Hellcat front sight is quicker to acquire than my Sig P365. I also like the grip on the Hellcat over my P365.

    I have multiple pistols... some have 3 dot sights, some have front dot/ rear blacked out sights, some have the U notch rear with dot front, some have low profile unpainted sights... I shoot them all pretty often, and find the U notch style on the Hellcat to be easy to use. It's really not that different from 3 dot sights. Line the 3 dots up with equal space all the way around, and you are hitting what you aim at... put the "ball in the basket" with the U notch and you get the same result. If you can't adapt to differences in firearms, maybe you should train more. 🤷‍♂️

    I guess I'm not understanding what exactly yall are comparing it to??? The 2 guns that popped up as base line guns were the Sig P320 a much bigger gun and the CZ Shadow 2 which is a heavy full size gun bordering on a race gun. So for me the possible end user looking for information this didn't give me anything but you didn't like the sights and it has more recoil then a full size. I had to have missed something here or at least I really hope I did because this made about as much sense as comparing the towing capacity of a Honda Civic to a Ford F250...

    These girls comparing Hellcat to full size pistols then critical of Hellcat, lol. Own two Hellcats because first one was so compact carry friendly and insanely accurate! I don’t use sights within 40yds utilizing punch drill front sight only technique dead on IPSC size target works for me!
    Second Hellcat full brown PRP trigger group with mounted Smith’s red dot and Rugged Obsidian 9mm in micro configuration engaged 8” steel at 100yds, naturally taking extra time steady aim with red dot but haven’t achieved that success with other micro compacts! No worries, two opinions don’t match my personal experiences, no problem!

    The U notch sight won't work well for everyone. I personally love it and it helps me acquire my sight picture faster than other pistols I've shot. Once I'm thoroughly comfortable with the iron sights, I'm going to add a red dot so my 49-year-old eyes can get on target even easier.
    The Hellcat fits my hands (short, somewhat thick fingers) perfectly when I use a 13 or 15 round mag. Maybe that's why I don't have the problems with recoil and muzzle flip that these guys do.

      Red dots take an enormous commitment of time $ and practice to be as effective as irons. Karl of Tactical rifleman, former CSM of 5th SFG, says it takes 7000 to 12000 life fire presentations to be competent with a pistol red dot (PRDS) in a actual high stress situation.
      I personally think they're great for longer range shooting, but offer next to nothing for real world close range home defense CCW type scenarios. Also, if you have an astigmatism, they suffer from dot bloom just like any other red dot.

    • @---tx9xx
      @---tx9xx 2 года назад

      @@Followme556 why would this be, if the presentation is similar to that of irons

    • @Followme556
      @Followme556 2 года назад

      @@---tx9xx Because the window on pistol red dots is so small, and because you do not have 3 points of contact as you do on a rifle, it requires thousands of presentations with your handgun (preferably from multiple shooting positions) to train the muscle memory for a perfect presentation where the dot is always in the window, otherwise you'll see people moving their wrists and gun all over hunting for the dot.
      Unless you plan on a serious commitment to master a PRDS, it is a terrible option for defensive use. Which makes it a terrible option for the casual CCW or home defender.

    • @JTheraos
      @JTheraos 5 месяцев назад

      @victory6actual i havent even shot 7000 rounds and i was instantly much better with a red dot than irons, and i always get 100% score of my range qualifications, so im not bad at all with irons. Red dots dont take much effort or training at all. Just draw the gun a few times and youll get competent with a red dot without any live fire.

    The Hellcat is the type of small pistol that the more you practice with it the more it grows on you…. The more you get better with it….. I’m a former owner of 2 p365’s and that pistol was just too small for my hands to operate the way I wanted…. The ergonomics fits me way better….I shot it and liked 👍…. The difference to me is that the Hellcat is built way more solid that the P365….. Hold in hand side by side and you can see and feel the difference…..I bet if both these guys spent extended time carrying and training with it then I bet the performance could get up to a 2.5 ish
    It’s small for sure…..That’s why the training is beneficial…. I know this a good pistol if time is put into it…. For the size/capacity/ carry ability factor, I don’t think it gets much better than the Hellcat…. I heard people that have 15k+ thru this little thing and it’s still performing great.

    I am a small framed person. The Glock 26 gen 4 is bulky for me. I do shoot well with it, the Sig 365-perfect size. Just a bit snappy. I love the 1" thickness and many other features. I want to try a Hellcat. If the size is similar great. It was good to hear your thoughts onthe sights. I have Glocks and naturally many required upgrades. #1 with any Glock a plug for the frame. The hellcats are close to 600.00? I would not want to have to put money into new sights. This could make a starting price tag to 750.00. Then we are talking holsters. This is not an inexpensive purchase, for my limited amount of money. I do not think if you try to sell in a year you are going to get close to what you paid, especially if you put in even a Talon grip.

    • @whatfreedom7

      I’ve held both and dry fired both. I haven’t been able to shoot either yet but I have the chance to buy a lightly used Hellcat for $400 and I most likely will buy it. They feel close in size. In my opinion the 365 feels better and has a better trigger. The feel and trigger isn’t bad on the Hellcat it’s just meh. The trigger feels ok but not bad. The 365 felt great on the dead display gun I tried. The Sig has more options for grip modules form numerous companies and better support for holsters etc. Both pistols use Meprolight Hyperbright sights so if you don’t like the color get a hyper bright from sight to change it. The U on the Hellcat was made with SA and can’t be bought by any other company.

      @@Valorius But hey didn't rank this against the Sig P320, rather they simply said its not as good. AFAIK all micro-compacts are not as good as a full-size pistol such as the P320.
      If comparing aircraft, a Cessna 150 would not be as good as a Leerjet 60, which is not as good as a 747. But if I'm only in the market for single engine prop planes, knowing that it is not as good as a private or commercial jet is not really helpful information.

      Hellcat is not as good as a Sig P320. OK. That's it? I'm not sure that ever needed to be said to begin with, it is kind of a truthism already. But how does the Hellcat compare to other firearms within its class? If I'm looking at the Hellcat, I'm probably interested in micro-compacts generally. I would be curious how it compares to other micro-compacts like the P365, Shield Plus, Mako, &c... and not so much how it compares to a full-size firearm such as the P320, 92FS, 75, &c...

      Its a "micro"....pistol.
      So things will be small and "fiddly".
      And Glocks 43/43X has "fiddly" parts too in comparison to its bigger brothers.
      For me the only two possible genuine mood killers on these things is the fact that they can only be had in 9mm.
      Seeing how big the Smith and Wesson Shields AND the Glock 43/43X are?
      Theres no reason that the "micro"/weight save/trim down, tech couldnt be applied to other calibers.
      Owning Shields, Glock 43X, AND the Hellcat?
      Ive still found myself seldom carrying any of them of late. Having gravitated back to my Glock 23, 30 SF, and 19X.
