Rescheduling isn't legalization. People get this confused. It also hasn't been entered into the federal registry or voted on. It's not being done until next year.

*IF* they are obtained legally with a prescription. That's going to be the stumbling block for pot smoking gun owners. To obtain their drug legally, they don't need just a prescription, they need to buy it from a dispensary that complies with all the federal regulations and many of them won't want to deal with that. Or they'll have to wait until Walgreens starts stocking Jeeter.
And I feel like I should clarify, this allowed use in theory would be for users of Marijuana with a medical prescription for it, not recreational. Other schedule 3 drugs are only legal with a prescription and use of them without one would likely put you in hot water under as a gun purchaser.

I'm not a marijuana user tried it as a teenager wasn't for me. But I don't see the harm in gun owners using it socially or gun owners w/ an illness like cancer or chronic pain using it medicinally. Marijuana is a whole lot safer than alcohol & a marijuana user is a lot less likely to become violent than someone using alcohol.

I have been arrested by border patrol agents for transporting legal Cannabis in my state. I happened to have my protection on me. It was confiscated for my detention and then given back to me upon release.
I’ve also been pulled over by various law-enforcement agencies while doing my job, under the same circumstances. as I always have my documentation there’s never been an issue. ❤
