Great video. Thank you. One question, my striker assembly is rattling a little bit after the slide is fully assembled. It's this normal or can I do something to fix this? Thanks again.
I’m glad you liked the video. Did you happen to take notice if it rattled before? It should be the same as before. As long as you followed the video, it should be fine. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
@UBR Tech I really wish I knew the answer to that. I guess I had a heightened sense of awareness after doing this as I don't know if it did or didn't rattle when it was new. It runs great at the range, so I'm happy. Was considering getting an upgraded striker assembly for it. Thoughts on those?
Hey Joe, did you notice any difference when the gun is “cocked” (ready to fire) compared to when the hammer is down (or fallen) ? The rattling should be significantly less, or maybe even gone, when it’s cocked. And don’t worry…it is completely normal to hear rattling. In fact, I would be concerned if there was no rattle, as that would be a sign of debris in the firing pin channel.
Hi Glenn, I’m so glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day and please tell your friends about the channel. God bless you too. 😁🤜🏼🤛🏼
Would it be recommended to use pipe cleaners to clean inside the slide? being sure to keep it dry and free of oil. Since the striker and plunger are out seems like it would be the time to do it. Great explanation, I enjoyed it.
Hi Michael, I normally put a barrel cleaning patch on the end of a wooden Cuticle pusher to clean the inside of the slide. I use the wooden cuticle pusher so it doesn’t scratch anything inside the slide. I would say you probably could use a pipe cleaner as long as there isn’t any exposed metal. Im glad you liked the video. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great weekend.
The Hellcat was sent out so I could create these videos. Once the videos were created, I sent the Hellcat back. So I don’t have one to check for you. Sorry bro.
Dude, earlier tonight I had to take my slide apart to clean up the striker because it was full of carbon buildup since I am almost at my 1000 round milestone for my Hellcat, and I thought I had my thumb on the back plate properly to keep the extractor spring retainer and Striker sleeve from flying out, and that stupid retainer for the extractor spring launched across my room anyways and it took me almost an hour to find that stupid thing. I almost gave up and thought I was going to have to order another one and I got lucky and found it.

@@UBRArsenal I will definitely recommend your channel. Springfield Hellcat (in our case it is HS-H11 OSP) is one of the most popular 9mm subcompacts among shooters Unfortunately, there are few weapons in Poland and there are no such films. Greetings - great job :) 👍👍👍
Hi Mo, I swapped to a metal striker sleeve for my HK VP9 and it wasn’t snug at all. I never swapped the sleeve for the Hellcat so I cant really say if it will break in. If you dont mind please come back and let me know if it does break in so I know for future questions like yours. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
@@UBRArsenal Hello, the sleeve was a little snug, no burrs and not stuck. I worhed the slide with my bore sighter and it smoothed itself out really well. Lakeline makes some really good products. I replaced all 5 strikers on all my Taurus pistols, love my Gx4 maybe more than the hellcat, but close. Take care, keep up the great videos.
@@ronmoman8825 Thanks so much for the information. Ill have to check out Lakeline. I also wanted to check out the GX4 and do a review of it. I might reach out to Taurus and see if they would send one out for review. I doubt it but its worth a try. You take care too and have a great day.

My striker moves one placed back in. It rattles. Even before I took it out to look. Thats why I watched this video. But it still does it. I know the plunger stops it for going anywhere but id still like to know if its supposed to or not
Hi Logan, do you mean, you can hear the striker moving when you shake the pistol? Also, are you just shaking the slide with no barrel and recoil spring or is the pistol fully assembled? If your shaking the pistol fully assembled, try to shake just the slide with no barrel and recoil spring and see if you still hear it. Talk to you soon.
Hi Mike, I’m so glad you liked the video. I think it looks harder then it really is. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day and please tell a friend about the channel.
Really good video. Appreciate your knowledge. Details were great, but why would you ever have to take your gun down to this level unless something breaks? Seems to me that normal breakdown and cleaning is more than enough to keep these guns in tip-top shape.and you may be asking for trouble by taking them apart. I have many semi-autos and they are still working fine after years of use.
Hi WC, some people like to do this every once in a blue moon with the gun they EDC. This way they know they won't have any light primer strikes when they need to use it. For the most part the only time you would need to do this is if you accidentally got oil in the striker assembly or something broke. Thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment. Have a great day!
I don't have the Hellcat anymore because I had to send it back to GunPrime. So I cant check for a rattle myself. When the gun is cleared and you rack the slide. Pull the trigger. If you hear the click, then most likely its functioning correctly. Do you hear the rattle when the slide it locked back?
@@drew.851 yeah it has a free floating firing pin so it's normal to hear the rattle. If you lock the slide back, you can see it moving or you can move it with your finger.
After trying to put my extractor spring pin back in i lost my grip on it and the spring shot out. Its been over two months since ive taken my Hellcat to the gunsmith to have them order the spring and reassemble my then 2 week old Hellcat. Theyre still waiting on the spring from Springfield.
Hi David, I think we all had a spring shoot across the room at some point. It does suck waiting for a part for a brand new pistol. I feel for you. I hope your spring comes in asap. So you can get back to the range with your new Hellcat. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Came to this vid to fix my wife’s hellcat extractor- after many ftf malfunctions i noticed the extractor is loose and leans outward and now i can diagnose why there isn’t enough tension on it…
Hey Robert, you don’t need to do this often. You can do it at some point when you shoot 1k to 1.5k rounds. The only other time you may need to do this is if you start to get light primer strikes. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
I just received my brand new Hellcat yesterday and haven't put a round through it yet. I noticed a rattle sound coming from the striker, more pronounced after the gun has been decocked (dry fired) but still there slightly even when cocked. It seems like the striker isn't under constant spring pressure, any thoughts on what could be causing this? Does anybody else have a rattly striker?
Hi Jack, I just checked the Hellcat RDP I have here and it doesn't rattle at all. If it were me, I would remove the slide from the grip and shake just the slide to make sure its definitely coming from the slide. After you have confirmed the rattle is coming from the slide and you feel confident enough to disassemble the slide. You could disassemble the slide and make sure everything looks good with the striker assembly. If you dont feel confident with the disassembly just give Springfield a call and see what they say. Either way, let me know how you make out.
@@UBRArsenal Thanks, I shot a quick video of the rattle I'm getting (ruclips.net/video/F82Zm1GHozA/видео.html). I didn't shake the grip itself in the video, but I did later and the rattle definitely seems to be coming from the slide assembly- specifically the striker/firing-pin assembly. Next step will be to try to take apart the slide, following the steps outlined in your video.
I accidentally let the extractor spring plate go when I was switching out the backplate and it went flying somewhere in my kitchen and now it seems to be lost. Lol idk what to do now. I hit up Springfield but they haven’t got back to me. Lol
It happens to all of us. I guess this will be a good test to see how Springfield’s customer service is. Worst case you can just buy an aftermarket one. Let me know how you make out.

Good job dude!

Brother my hellcat rattles and I'm sure it's the firing or magazine blocking lever. Does your hellcat pro rattle.
I can see the firing pin coming forward when I rack the slide
The Hellcat was sent out so I could create these videos. Once the videos were created, I sent the Hellcat back. So I don’t have one to check for you. Sorry bro.
Very helpful sir.
Hey TJ, really glad the video helped out. Thanks for leaving a nice comment and I hope you subscribed. :)
I’ve been there before. I’m glad you found it in the end. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
Great video - thanks 👍

@@UBRArsenal I will definitely recommend your channel. Springfield Hellcat (in our case it is HS-H11 OSP) is one of the most popular 9mm subcompacts among shooters
Unfortunately, there are few weapons in Poland and there are no such films.
Greetings - great job :)
👍👍👍
Thanks so much. It really helps my channel. Glad I could provide some Hellcat videos. Have a great day.
excellent video !!!
Hi Elvis, really glad you liked the video. Thanks for leaving a nice comment and I hope you subscribed. :)
Thanks for the video. Iordered a metal striker sleeve for my hellcat and it is a little snug, will it work itself in? Thanks!
@@UBRArsenal Just wanted to tell you the sleeve was not snug in the slide, but on the striker. As i said it worked itself out.
@@ronmoman8825 Thanks so much for the information. Ill have to check out Lakeline. I also wanted to check out the GX4 and do a review of it. I might reach out to Taurus and see if they would send one out for review. I doubt it but its worth a try. You take care too and have a great day.
@@UBRArsenal Not only is the gx4 as low as 299.00 the gx4 toro optic ready just released a few days ago. check out ruclips.net/video/fvCezG14wps/видео.html. I hope taurus sends you the gx4 toro to review.
@@UBRArsenal It shakes both ways. Fully assembled and loaded as well as just the slide without recoil spring and barrel.
You da man Harry!

Hi Mike, I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
Have a great day!
awesome, thank you

so the pin in the extractor spring has a double marking on one side. Which way does it go?
Does the striker free float and move back and forth sometime to the point of where some would say rattle?
I don't have the Hellcat anymore because I had to send it back to GunPrime. So I cant check for a rattle myself. When the gun is cleared and you rack the slide. Pull the trigger. If you hear the click, then most likely its functioning correctly. Do you hear the rattle when the slide it locked back?
@@UBRArsenal hmm, I'll have to check when I get back home. Thank you.
@@willg6997 did you find out about this? My rattles as well
@@drew.851 yeah it has a free floating firing pin so it's normal to hear the rattle. If you lock the slide back, you can see it moving or you can move it with your finger.
Where do you get that tapered plastic punch ?
I couldn’t find the one I have. They might not make this one anymore. The link below is the closest one I could find.

@@UBRArsenal I appreciate you checking. I couldn't find anything like that either. It's a good idea though...handy.
Came to this vid to fix my wife’s hellcat extractor- after many ftf malfunctions i noticed the extractor is loose and leans outward and now i can diagnose why there isn’t enough tension on it…
I’m so glad the video helped out. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
Turned out the shooting was missing 😂 (we bought it used). Have to call Springfield armory to order
Is firing pin supposed to stick out of the hole inside?
I don’t think the firing pin should stick out. Do you hear the firing pin click when you dry fire the pistol?
@@UBRArsenal yes. Thanks for response. I subscribe to you.
You’re welcome and thank you so much for subscribing. Have a great day.
Is that striker guide plastic?
Hi Mike, yes the striker guide is made of plastic.
How often does this need done?
Hey Robert, you don’t need to do this often. You can do it at some point when you shoot 1k to 1.5k rounds. The only other time you may need to do this is if you start to get light primer strikes. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a great day.
👍🏻
Thanks and I hope you subscribed. 👍🏼
@@jackfrederick3663 Let me know what you find after you disassembled the slide. Thanks Jack.
Keep pounding SA.... Or look for aftermarket.... 😁
Am i the only one who thinks hes explaining this like Mr. Rogers? 🤣
You’re the first to say Mr. Rogers, I normally get Bob Ross. 🤣
