    Carried it for a solid six months before replacing the slide with a P365 slide. Couple of items to consider: 1) there can be glare on the sight if there is light behind you which can completely obscure the bullseye sight; 2) If you alternate with firearms with iron sights (e.g. P365XL), you will need to readjust to the bullseye sight of the SAS. Those were enough reasons for me to switch out the slide. I want to minimize problems in a self-defense scenario.

    Interesting how far we and the industry have come. Remember the 80's and all the controversy of the Glock's "no safety" and the drama about accidental discharge? And some companies offering every safety device known to man. Keys and locks, smart this and that.... Today we have endless choices of smooth, no safety (except for the one between your ears), high capacity pocket guns.
    There was a time when the future looked dark. We still have to stay on our toes, but what a time to be alive with great choices like this fine Sig.

    As Samuel Mullen suggests, one of the benefits of SIG's modular design is the ability to order or find on the shelf all parts except the Fire Control Unit (or trigger group).
    Only the FCU requires an FFL. Now your gifting potential just grew.

    Could not get used to the sights. First tried installing a laser and final replaced the fiber optics with a red dot. Now I'm very happy with it.

    The sight gets mixed reviews, when it's on its on!
    When it's off it's non adjustable, so it's good minute of torso at 10 yards, and I wouldn't try to push it.
    Just throw a compact red\green Dot on it.

    Got by my local gun store this morning, they had a full stock of ammo for both pistols and rifles. Most was too high priced to consider. But I did find a 500 round brick of Remington .22LR for 8 cents around so I bought one. Can never have enough .22LR as I have 1 pistol and 4 .22LR rifles, 2 Marlin Model 60s, I Golden Boy lever action, and 1 take down Survival Rifle, with 3 clips.

    The site is still really off on mine, shoots about 6 inches left at about 20 feet. Ended up getting a normal 365 with iron sites which I enjoy shooting a lot more. I 100% recommend the extended mags since it gives that much more handle grip on a handle that i find to feel a bit short.

    As one at the front of the same decade, I find myself looking at various options for sights and the SAS has been in my short list as I look to downsize my EDC gun and yet have something that I can see the sights on. Bluntly because I hate the extra mass of the RMR especially on a CCW gun.
    Reminds me heavily of the “Guttersnipe” sights on the custom ASP guns and the STI Tiki and it’s recessed night sights.

    i worked at a sporting goods store in the late 90's, when background checks came into play, (whether they are legal or not). i,for one believe they are unconstitutional! but when i was working at that store, the smoothest trigger pull that i ever came across was from a SIG! icant afford one now, but if i could afford one, i would trust that gun with my life. the trigger pull is one of the most important factors of any gun!

    The sight is the most anti-intuitive sight i have ever used. Be that as it may.....it is a good pocket pistol.....most effective at 15 feet and closer, ergo making the sight un-necessary. I carry it because of the anti snag features.

    The SAS is clearly the worst version of the P365 series. I had one, and after a few months I traded out the slide for a regular one. My LGSs have stopped carrying them last year as they just don’t sell with those sights.

    • @drdrake63
      @drdrake63  2 года назад +5

      Just because something doesn’t sell doesn’t mean it’s the ‘worst version’. Most people that buy concealed carry firearms have no clue what they are doing.

    I own one of these and the little green dot is hard to find. I can’t find it fast enough target shooting. I would hate to need it and not find it in an actual emergency situation. Granted, there are a lot of things I like about it, the sighting system is not one. That sight needs light to work and no light, no sight. I have the sig Lima laser mounted and it helps, but I prefer an index laser instead of grip laser. This pistol is great to carry and in actual short-distance combat, I probably wouldn’t use sights with this anyway(which is good, because this sight is worthless).

    • @extremeencounter7458
      @extremeencounter7458 Год назад

      If it’s hard to find you need more practice. Especially cause in the daylight it’s impossible to miss, ridiculously bright.

    • @PickledShark
      @PickledShark 8 месяцев назад

      Interesting, because this was designed to be faster to find than iron sights.
      I wonder if the grip angle is different than what you’re used to, or if you’re just really used to irons?
