    I love my Hellcat. I shoot it frequently and have put about 1000 rounds through it so far. Its snappy for sure, but totally manageable with some range time. I’m 5’10 165lbs and it’s super concealable, that’s what I love most about it.

    You have a great understanding of the viewing experience. Your awareness to give the viewers what they clicked for rather than rambling on and not focusing on the content as some others do is appreciated. The still photo size comparison edits for one example are great for viewers and a lot of people skip right over it.

    It just never ceases to amaze me how people want a single stack with a skinny grip for good concealment, but then all they do is complain about capacity. Then they end up sticking all these extended mags on there, which defeats the whole purpose.

    I’m pretty recent to the ccw life style but I carried an xd-mod2 sub for over a year and it was nice and comfortable but decided to try the hellcat when it came out and I love this thing .... the difference in weigh and sizes only losing 2 rounds makes such a more comfortable day for me.... do wish I had a few more holster choices and the Hellcat is a bit snappy but still totally shootable but it shoots great I love the sights.

    why does everyone think small is the thing? Doesn't matter if you can barely hold on to a gun and hit your target well. I'll take a large gun I'm more proficient with any day over something that is tiny. Besides the trigger on the hellcat sucks compared to the P365. For me I stick to my G27, Walther PPSM2 and my Sig P365. The Walther actually feels more flush on my body than most.

      I started out with a 26gen4 as opposed to the widely endorsed G19. Later I acquired a 23gen4 and a bunch of other EDC-worthy units, like this Shield and Taurus G2c just to name a few. To this day I’d still bet my bottom dollar on the 26, the handgun on which I’m most proficient. The differences in dimensions are considerable enough to offer a substantial advantage when it comes to consistent daily carry... without much of a tradeoff when it comes to firepower. Maybe the only slight disadvantage is a marginally slower less positive draw since the 26 grip require a more secure grip when presenting.

      Anytime someone asks me what I recommend for a carry gun or just a first gun in general, I always say the Glock 19! After carving my proverbial teeth on the Glock 26 and later attempting to train from the draw with my Shield9, I can say that with ultra concealable pistols, the trade off other than capacity is a swift secure grip every single time. Surprisingly I’ve found my Taurus G2c to hit that sweet spot. It’s got great capacity and its been utterly reliable... whats not to like?🤷🏻‍♂️. It may be looked down upon by neighsayers but its been a keeper for sure. I even filed down the mag to where the pinky rest doesn’t print as much now.

      Hegshot87 ... keep up the good work HS87👍🏼.. yeah, the Taurus G2c is working quite well for me the more I train with it. To be completely honest, its failed to lock back on the last round on only 2 occasions when using Sig P226 mags. The more I shoot it the more I like it though. It’s a great piece for people with normal, non-large hands. I never got a G43 because I’m one of those who picked up an early release edition Shield9 back in the day. So far I continue to train from the draw using the Taurus, Shield9, and for nostalgic purposes... the G26. If I had to choose only one it’d be the 26 just because the track record, throughout history and with me. The less than stellar Taurus reputation from the past few decades is hard to forget... BUT the G2c is in a very close second place.
      BTW.. Mrs HegShot is really impressive lately with her mag dumps and follow up shots on steel.

      I own a Taurus PT111 G2 and it doesn't get enough credit for its size and amount of rounds it holds. It's in that sweet spot of a sub-compact and single stack size almost all by itself. Just wish they would come out with a Pro version without a manual safety.

In my experience I try and carry the handgun with the longest sight radius that I can comfortably conceal as I find that translates into more accurate first shots under speed/pressure. Excellent choices, however, for many iwb may not be the optimal method to carry concealed. I have a drawer of iwb holsters after discovering that I can effectively carry concealed owb. For me, I can carry a P320 compact effectively concealed easier and more comfortably owb than the P365 iwb. A proper kydex holster with the optional pancake belt loops and a quality gun belt. I'd never go back to iwb. "To each their own", but for many a consideration.

    Great review! I purchased the Hellcat OSP early last year and then the Glock 26 gen5 later last year. I've put about 400 rds thru the Hellcat and about 250 rds thru the G26. With the Hellcat, it took a bit of practice to get comfortable with accuracy and recoil, and definitely improved after I put the red dot. I did experience some FTF issue which I attribute to a batch of ammo I used. However, the G26 shot really well on day one, stock, no issues thus far. There's a definate difference in weight and thickness as discussed here.. I carry the Hellcat with the extended mag (13+1) on days I want to go light with less printing. However, my favorite is G26 with extension (12+1) for reliability and accuracy. I have a G17 for home use, so the a spare 17 mag is nice to have. I'm very happy with both and glad I have options.

    It might not have been available when this video came out, but they have a 15 round magazine for the hellcat. In my opinion, it's better to have a smaller grip for concealment if you have a smaller hand for it, and the ability to get an extended magazine for more rounds if that's what you like. I've held the hellcat with a flush mag with the pinky extension and it fit my hand nicely. I will be saving up and hoping for a gear up promotion to get extra magazines. These comparison videos are nice and informative, but the true test is to handle the guns and see what suits you best.

    I think it needs to be rethought a little bit, the glock 19 is the best all around handgun, but it really shouldn’t be the gold standard for a handgun exclusive concealed carry. A glock 26 with a grip extension can have the same handling characteristics and capacity but with that little bit of extra comfort when you’re trying to bend over when carrying appendix which seems to be in vogue right now. The only issue is the rail, they need to update the tlr-6 and make an hl version. Great video!

    Got rid of my Glock 43 and got the Sig P365XL. Can’t go wrong with it. Can’t wait to add a red dot.

    Thanks, these side by side comparisons are always useful -- and by necessity need to leave some things out! I was a little surprised about the omission of Kahr (PM9, CW9 especially) -- not too surprised at first since the other comparators had equivalent capacity but once the Shield and DB9 popped up, I wondered where the Kahrs were. Yup, older technology, yup need work to master (like all small guns) but once mastered, quite accurate and quite small!

    Like the size of the hellcat but the grip texture is like the shield 2.0 which to me was like velcro on my shirts. I was constantly adjusting my shirt because it would stick to the handle. I use to carry the shield 45. But switched to the glock 26 for a little less grippy handle.

    because they speak very little of the original capacity of the ammunition factory, without attachments. obvious always loses. apart from that, it is a very good design and comfortable for shooting and carrying

    Ive had and carried my Glock 26 for over 15yrs with well over 30k rounds, no matter what comes out nothing will ever compare to the big dawg G26 to me... That said nothing and i mean NOTHING carrys like a Keltec P32 with just a belt clip... is the ONLY gun you can carry and truly not feel it... perfect in pajamas around the house, btw most people that have firearms are almost ALWAYS caught off guard while awake in a home invasion... P32 is a true 365, caliber war aside for the tough guys

    Glock G43 is still smaller for conceal carry. You can get a +1, +2, +3, +4 and still lighter and thinner.

    I always enjoy your videos. I also like that you try to give input from various angles regarding people's different sizes and needs.
    I would love it if you could include a catagory for people with XL Hands and Fingers.
    Since I wear 2X shirts, the grip lengths aren't really my problem.
    My problem is Squeezing the trigger.
    I usually have to use the first crease below the pad of my finger, whech reduces how for back I can pull the trigger. Also a slightly longer slide is better for me to keep my fingers away form the mouth of the barrel.
    So wide grips and longer trigger reach are good things for me.
    When you show side by side of similar guns, try to get the camera angle to show trigger position.
    Thanks

    As along time M&P Shield 9mm Carry Guy I hop the the M&P Subcompact is not the Gun Smith & Wesson is throwing in the Ring with the HellCat/P365 because to me that would be incredibly Lazy!. they already had a version of the that Gun in 3.5" barrel, No one wanted it, it was too long in the slide & barrel for appendix carry so they reintroduce the same Gun with even a longer Slide & barrel?

    • @SmokeytheJeep
      @SmokeytheJeep 4 года назад

      Seth Clayburn On the contrary, I think they compare well, for the most part. The biggest issue against the M&P is the width. It fits nicely between the Hellcat and the G26 for size, which puts it in good company.

      the 7 rd mags from Kahr are not reliable in most cases so really we are talking 6 + 1 for the cm and pm 9s that has been my experience with the car magazines I have the p.m. nine and I’m looking to get a hellcat my son-in-law has the sig p365 and that’s a great little pistol as well but I like to have as many rounds as possible with the smallest gun I can possibly get

    Great review. I just wonder with all the recoil on how small the hellcat is, and also accuracy compared to the g19 or m2.0 compact. Overall, the hellcat next to the p365 are just super subcompact.

    • @Hegshot87
      @Hegshot87  4 года назад +3

      Personally, I feel more recoil with the smaller guns and I would say my groups aren't as good but in a self defense situation, I am confident in the smaller guns and center mass hits

    P365xl is a great shooter but too big to deep conceal. If you carry a full sized gun you’ll like it. If you’re looking to not show period go with hell cat or G43 or p365.

    What about a Springfield xd mod 2 3” sub compact?

    • @jonkR96
      @jonkR96 4 года назад

      John parker
      Hellcat is smaller, lighter and thinner. I was considering the 3” XD Mod 2 since I already own a 4” XD Mod 2 in 9mm. The size difference is what made me get the Hellcat as a CCW, plus I’m a smaller framed guy so it’d be much easier to conceal.
      If you’re average size or above you could probably more easily conceal the 3” XD Mod 2 than I could. Also, with the Hellcat you’re only sacrificing a few rounds compared to the 3” Mod 2 16rd extended mag. (Hellcat extended mag: 13+1)
