I was always going to make the review honest even with the great hospitality! GASGAS have made a great piece of kit! New style, new ideas and new people!
I absolutely applaud you for your honesty in reviewing bikes. My dealer got a txt racing 300 by mistake yesterday. I traded my 2022 250 racing in on it today. I can’t wait for spring to arrive.
As a touring musician and sound engineer, I know that lack of sleep can make you hypereuphoric, so I take your enthusiasm with a pinch of salt, but that aside, I must confess: Your enthusiasm is contagious. 👍🏼 Who knows, maybe I'll switch back from a 3 letter bike to a 6 letter bike? The good thing about my situation is: I don't have to ask my wife for permission! 🤪
You are a lucky man! Also I try my best on the enthusiasm. Lol Hard work = less sleep in the filming game lol Looking forward to hearing what you decide!
Great review as always Danny. My last GasGas was a TXT321 (back in 1999/2000). New GasGas looks great, hopefully it rides as good as it looks. Might be a future replacement for my current 2020 TRS RR250.

He enjoyed the sport once more! So I would say, let the 125 into your life! Hope you feel better and thanks for the support for the channel!
Thanks for another great video. Just want to add that your inspiration has got me back on a bike, albeit an electric mountain bike with a throttle so I can go and play pretend trials riding on easy pretend sections and rediscover skills I never actually had to begin with.
You won't change from a Vertigo INJECTION , it's perfection. like the gases though< and well done to them. my son rides a 20 year old gasgas I bought him new, he's brilliant on it.
Good day sir, excellent video by the way. Really enjoying the channel! Question for you I’ve got my sights on a new 2023 GG 300 and a friend recently stepped in and suggested I look at a Vertigo JBR or whatever was available. Curious now that the head of product development isn’t staring at you which bike would you spring for? I’m a bit torn
Right now the jury is out. It really comes down to preference. Although I really do like this bike. I still struggle to find a bike that grips like my JBR.

This is an awesome video! I'm very close to putting a deposit on a 2023 Gas Gas TXT 250. Every video and forum say nothing but good about this bike. The only concern I'm having is many videos and forums talk about how hard the bike is to start. I'm 59 years old and not a young man anymore. I don't have the lungs to have to kick 20 times to start the bike. Please can you clarify this concern? If you give me the green light that the bike starts easily I'm going to drop a deposit. Thanks so much
I honestly didn’t find it difficult to start as it has the same starting procedure as the previous model. Choke (when cold) and good swift technique when warm. Starting any bike is about reaction and timing and not strength. You will be ok
Great review Danny! I have been riding dirt bikes all my life but never ridden a trials bike. I have been considering buying one for a few years but wanted to get a used bike for my first trials machine. Living in the USA there are not a lot of options for used bikes, especially in my area. I have a couple gas gas dealers within driving distance that have new 2023 models in stock. For a first bike I am considering the 2023 TXT 250. I cannot decide between the Racing model or the GP model. I am 6’2” and 215 Lbs and am wondering if the suspension on the GP model is worth the extra money. Also wondering if the 300 is too much for a first bike? I know I don’t need the extra power, but is it noticeably more difficult to ride? I know it’s all about throttle control, but an not sure when it comes to a trials bike. Thanks Danny!
Thanks for this great comment buddy!! 250 racing will be just fine. The extra CC, money, and suspension won’t make a difference in the beginning. But a great bike!!
As always...thanks Danny. Congratulations on the VIP treatment on the trip and well done on the first unbiased "free press" review of the new model. It sounds like GasGas aimed to impress and they hit the target. You mention a 280 but, the GG website does not list a 280. Was it in actuality a 250 you also rode? If so, what was your impression of the power of the smaller displacement? Cheers!
I’ve had a couple of Gassers, never really liked them to be honest, always ended up back on a Mont or Beta. So far, this new bike makes me want to give them another go.
saying not making it fuel injected is a big mistake is imo very good. if something happens to the fuel injection u would need diagnostic tools and therefore could not repair it by urself. fuel injection would prolly make the bike heavier aswell?
Almost everyone of the Fi bikes are lighter than the Gasgas (apart from the Mont) Also Fuel injected bikes rarely have issues when they are not messed around with. Where as a carb can pull water in for as simple as a lost drain off hose. My Beta was a pain in the ass, every ride requires a carb and Airbox clean….
GG has always been the best Trial above all brands...by far far far. the rear exhaust cover is much better than before, hopefully is doesn't brake as easy as before...
I would love a video on foot to peg placement and trials stance in general. I'm switching from dirt bike to trials and know there are good habits on a dirt bike that aren't good for trials that I will have to change but I have seen a lot of opinions on trials foot placement and am curious what your take is on it
Based on your reviews I am looking at GasGas 250 and Sherco 250. I am 100kg complete noob in trials, just trying to figure out which one to get :) Any tips? Beta is also an option, particularly the 4T ;)
GasGas 250 would win my vote and steer clear of the 4T Beta. Unless you wanna ride a load of long-distance stuff? Most people just find them hard to ride.
@@TrialTube Thanks legend! Keep up the great work! I plan to get 4T enduro for the trail riding and some MX, so 2T trial for trial/technique training. Not sure the wallet will agree, but thats the plan 😄
Yeah always been worried with mine my dads 96 is under seat but high water never touched it …02 unfortunately took in water through bottom drain hole and my now 18 I keep dry ha just after vertigo moving it high thought gasgas might follow
hello how about I am Arenitas I also make videos like you. Yours are very good. Thank you.! I'm looking forward to trying the GG hurts that I was not invited hehehe.. So now I have a question for you. Which bike is more stable. Vertigo Nitro or GG. And if you had to choose between the two Nitro or GG bikes which would be the ideal one for you. Thank you!
Hey man and congrats on the videos! They are not easy to make. I know this is always going to be the big question! So when I have time I will make a video but until then you will have to wait!
I can give you "One bad thing" that you should have recognized and brought up about the new GG, as the new boss is the same as the old boss. And that's that huge chrome exhaust header pipe. It has the most exposed chrome of any bike, and all that chrome on that huge bend makes heat like my Grandma's old stokermatic. You get anything, pants or even worse, skin against it and that pipe will absolutely melt it into a puddle. Happens in a nano second. GG's have always been the worst for this. Can't tell you how many pants I had with a classic GG melt on the right upper inside calf. It did on all 4 of the GG's I owned and I can guarantee it will on that one too. The rest of the bike sounds amazing though. So much so that I'll consider it for future bike, and I hope they don't go EFI. May be all space age, but I can't work on them. Thanks for another great video.
This new design of flexible rear mudguards is a poor business decision. I , personally and other bad riders have kept several trials bike manufacturers financially solvent over the years with our constant demand for rear plastics😂
@@martyman25008 well I doubt the gasser will have that problem as the exhaust is no where near the plastics and mounts off the shocker. As well as it having a very similar style to the vertigo.
Not to say that I have regrets or don't like my new bike but in all honesty from an underskilled wanker who loves dirt bikes...a few 'Bads" you could have mentioned that I've noticed after 3 solid days riding a fresh 2023 300 txt race. #1) Seems to be a pain in the butt to start......I did some interweb searching (along with trying different carb settings)...this seems like a Gasgas trait? ...sometimes I think I have the technique mastered and she fires right up and I smile...only to have it need 10 pain in the butt non-ergonomic kicks the next time I shut it off. "Tricks" that seem to work sometimes maybe.... lean the whole bike far down to left for a few seconds....Put in 2nd gear and rock to and back...open throttle wide open and kick hard. Sometimes just one of the things work...sometimes none of them do and I have to sit around and wait for the bike to want to run...which is usually OK as I am tired form all the kicking. #2) the decals above the pegs are all chipped/wearing off from my boots rubbing...and along that theme...the Gasgas is a pretty Plain Jane ride...BEAUTIFUL in form and function, but leaves plenty of room for sexy BOLD new graphics and bling in years to come...and maybe perhaps a clear fuel tank to know how much petrol is on board because she does seem thirsty. #3) She seems to be a little hefty compared to the Betas I test rode before buying the GasGas...didn't think I'd notice it, but I think do and from what I found online...assuming the mfg's aren't lying..the bike is actually heavier than the Beta. Bonus: Dealers...maybe nice folks, but seem to know ZERO about these trials bikes and don't stock anything lie a spare air filter or oil etc. Or know or seem to care anything about proper set up and jetting at elevation 5700'+- which maybe? has something to do with the starting??? So, I while I like being under the KTM umbrella and that is part of what drew me in...along with the factory rebate making it seem like a fair deal that a weak minded bloke like me did not have the strength to refuse.... the smaller local (Beta, Sherco, TMracing,EM) dealer seems to have way more passion for all things 2 wheels. 🛵 As far as "goods" The clutch/power delivery is brilliant..esp compared to any Sherco I've been on is amazing, Agreed....the rear fender flexibility and attachment system leaves me wondering why it took trials bike builders so long to figure this out and this has already saved me huge $$$... Access to the oil drain plug and air filter make service a breeze. Love Trials Tube and all your material...thanks for all the great videos!!! 👍
Firstly what an amazing and well though my out comment! Thank you. Starting a trials machine of any brand is often a technique and one that has to be learned (per bike). But get where you are coming from. After doing some research I often found the new “dealer network” to not be specialised in trials and happy to just get the bikes out the door! It’s a tough one, hopefully they will sort it out! Thanks again for the support and always more to come!
Hey mate, I’m looking at getting into Trial and am wondering your thoughts between a 250 and a 300? I currently ride a ktm 300 tpi and have been practicing on that so should i go to a 300? Im currently looking at either a Vertigo DL 23 model or Gas Gas TXT racing 23 model.
Deffo not a 300 for your first trials bike. 250 all day long. Just because you have had time on a 300 enduro bike it doesn’t transfer to the trials machine. Trust me 😜
Ok, “This is 2022,” is adequate in a technology basis and development basis. It’s lazy that the bikes haven’t evolved past a carb. Saying “It isn’t broken, so why fix it?” Is also not an adequate answer. Don’t you think the consistent development would benefit the sport? The bikes? As well as the consumers? Imagine if the motorcar didn’t evolve past the original Bentleys and Rolls Royce’s of the past?
I can't speak for everybody, but I don't have 30 mins of life to give just so you can ramble off on endless tangents. This could have been a really cool review if you had just made everything more succinct and tidy like the engine bay.
What size engine did you say it has ? Well, if it's that perfect it just wouldn't work for me to get one. I would have nothing to blame my screw ups on !!!
thinking bout getting a beta Evo factory edition ... but then this came out ... I started on a gas gas but now it needs a new bottom end .. decisions .. decisions
100% differences on a GP! They have different shock, forks, wheels, plastics, caliper (front) as well as a lot of other little niceties I have probably missed.
Looks like they still have that crap back brake pedal that bends so easy, and almost un straightnable. Had my gasgas 6 months went through 3 brake pedals. Eventually made one up from a broken one without the kink in it ,perfect never bent another one. Friend of mine went through 6 in the French 4 day.it Needs tucking out of the way, snug in like most other new bikes. Not evey one rides sections on the back wheel missing all rocks.sorry just had to put my peneth in... back brake is crap... there said it again.. that back brake is all 3 bad points+ vat... keep up the good work like your opinion on trials bikes.
when you drop it in water you can easily clean out the carb. not FI. it is a nightmare. also FI tent to run and gulp a bit, still, sucking in water. carbs flood immediately saving you a lot of money.
bruh not in south africa. a new montessa will put you back ZAR200K compared to the GAS's ZAR150K. which is a 2.25K pound sterling difference over here. Crazy I know....
@@TrialTube I know!!! cry a thousand tears!! Apart from the fact that honda is an all-time favorite over here the parts are ridiculously expensive, similar to BMW or KTM motorcycle parts but the tech support is almost non existent. that is why I prefer carbs.
Seems good bike not big lover of colour... I think gas gas gp bikes looked better tho .... not fan of boring black forks and black wheels silver triple clamps Gas gas need get back to nice gold or red trick anodised bits....shame they don't come with nice set of anodised wheels aswell... So for price I'd rather vertigo or trs least they come with all nice anodised bits standard 👍
I know what you are saying and they have gone with a new identity on this one. I looks sleek and rides very well. Hard to argue the design fact. The GP looks awesome though.
I hope on 2023 model gas gas have sorted better steering bump stop so frame don't get marked up and dented just from turning bike.. the bottom fork yoke hits frame when hoping about on full lock marks frame up 😏 sort problem out gas gas some of us try look after lovely red frame paint and don't like damaging paint just turning bike also sort your workshop torque specs out they are way to high bolts snap using torque setting from gas gas workshop manual... Many thanks...hope to see you soon on a gasser too!!!! Cheers 😂😂

Did they give any pricing estimates? Definitely want to upgrade my old GasGas to this one 👍
Yeah the prices have been released
@@TrialTube thank you ! And thank you for such a good video! Love the channel 👍
you are welcome man and don't forget to share and let's make this the biggest free press for trials!
@@endurojitsu3804 the wallet never agrees! But you have got this bro!
Fantastic video just found your Chanel …Have they changed air box or still under seat ??
Just under the seat but a whole new layout under there!
Yeah always been worried with mine my dads 96 is under seat but high water never touched it …02 unfortunately took in water through bottom drain hole and my now 18 I keep dry ha just after vertigo moving it high thought gasgas might follow
@@reecepennick9183 the new Airbox they have made looks substantial trust me! But the higher up is always better in my eyes

Thank you so much!!!!
Great video!
Thanks man!!
Great review.
Glad you enjoyed it
hello how about I am Arenitas I also make videos like you.
@@TrialTube Thanks mate!!
I forgot to ask, what sort of hp, and torque figures does this bike produce ? Also what's its weight ?
Maybe on the GasGas official website
What a great comment and thank you again for watching!!
This new design of flexible rear mudguards is a poor business decision. I , personally and other bad riders have kept several trials bike manufacturers financially solvent over the years with our constant demand for rear plastics😂
I know many a brand that would fold without those sales!
I'm sure they'll droop from exhaust heat like the vertigo - requiring replacement....
@@martyman25008 my nitro hasn’t drooped….
@@TrialTube I'm referring to previous models...
@@martyman25008 well I doubt the gasser will have that problem as the exhaust is no where near the plastics and mounts off the shocker. As well as it having a very similar style to the vertigo.
Well crap. I think I have to sell my 2021 now. Thanks Butler
Glad I can help the addiction along!
Have you tested a TRS RR?
Not yet but the time will come!
Looks good
250 vs 300 ??
Good idea!!
Hi Danny, Would u give up the Vertigo for it though 🤔
All depends…
Bad thing number 2 not a 200 model for me the older clubman but all in all looks a great bike
Haha knew it! Maybe I have to ask the question to the powers that be?!
agree a 200 model would have been sweet, sucks only Beta and Vertigo make a 200
Hey mate, I’m looking at getting into Trial and am wondering your thoughts between a 250 and a 300? I currently ride a ktm 300 tpi and have been practicing on that so should i go to a 300? Im currently looking at either a Vertigo DL 23 model or Gas Gas TXT racing 23 model.
Deffo not a 300 for your first trials bike. 250 all day long. Just because you have had time on a 300 enduro bike it doesn’t transfer to the trials machine. Trust me 😜
Thanks mate much appreciated I will get a 250 👍🏻
@@MClyne24 no worries and enjoy!!
Very specifically, why do you feel that not having fuel injection is a "massive mistake"? ("This is 2022" is not an adequate answer)
Really Into that mudguard.. I’d like to see it bend in typical English cold weather..needs more graphic?? Look bit boring ..
It’s awesome and whatever works for the new style!
I can't speak for everybody, but I don't have 30 mins of life to give just so you can ramble off on endless tangents.
This could have been a really cool review if you had just made everything more succinct and tidy like the engine bay.
Must be busy then?
What size engine did you say it has ?
Well, if it's that perfect it just wouldn't work for me to get one. I would have nothing to blame my screw ups on !!!
It’s a good bike but none are perfect. It’s about preference
can u make a video or a comparison to the new trs. u never made a vid about trs

@@TrialTube what do you suggest ?!
@@dsandusky123 honestly the newest GasGas is a much better bike. But the Beta is a proven machine over the test of time!
my understand there is no difference in the GP & Race in the power/torque output ,etc.

So do we…🙈
Looks like a prototype
I think they are just making the bike more inline with the other MX and enduro bikes.
Hey, we dont want injection, because it's to complex, because with a carburator if there is a problem it's solved in 5 min !
True, just tell that to all of the other brands and history through the years. Development, we need it in trials! It rode well regardless
Why it's not FI?😋
Thanks for asking!
👍
Wish it was orange.
Imagine lol
@@TrialTube Very lame, but I'd like to sell my Sherco for a Scorpa just so it matches my KTM :)
@@SANDS78 nowt wrong with a bit of OCD!
i love carburettors. FI is a nightmare in country where resources are limited. nah.... gasgas has all you need.
Interesting perspective
when you drop it in water you can easily clean out the carb. not FI. it is a nightmare. also FI tent to run and gulp a bit, still, sucking in water. carbs flood immediately saving you a lot of money.
Do the test on the new Yamaha
I wish…
I've seen it go once, it's all to impressive
this bike is a lot less expensive than the competitors. sooo...carb is just fine with me.
It’s on par with all the competition (price wise)
bruh not in south africa. a new montessa will put you back ZAR200K compared to the GAS's ZAR150K. which is a 2.25K pound sterling difference over here. Crazy I know....
@@drevil4454 woah that’s insane!
@@TrialTube I know!!! cry a thousand tears!! Apart from the fact that honda is an all-time favorite over here the parts are ridiculously expensive, similar to BMW or KTM motorcycle parts but the tech support is almost non existent. that is why I prefer carbs.
@@TrialTube we still have a lot of fun over here.
I won't buy another gas gas nightmare for snapping bolts I think beta is built better
