Im going with ps5. I enjoy playing single-player games like FF16, God of War. The list goes on. I know every year I'm getting high-quality games consistently

Except it's not consistent, certainly not in terms of quality. Spider-Man 2 was the last good single player game it had and that was arguably mid in a lot of sections.

I have both but I prefer the Xbox Series X for the following reasons:
* Quick resume
* Console more lighter & portable
* Game Pass
* Graphics are a tad better
And backwards compatibility

I've always had an Xbox since the first one that came out, and I've just stuck with it, for me, it's just a gaming system that plays games. I'm sure if my first console was a PlayStation, I'd probably stuck with PlayStation. Gaming for me is just gaming, something to do for fun, even if it's just pulling out a deck of UNO cards or a game of Monopoly the analog versions😁.
For your information, my Xbox s X has complete a full year without unplugging it and is still working smoothly.

Xbox: Delivers a PC like experience which makes It feels better with a faster response time.
The only Xbox flaw is the lack of exclusives. In the end, ANY game both consoles shares, are better experienced on Xbox, but this is something Sony bitches forget about.
When a High setup is available for both (OLED TVs with Freesync/Gsync, HDMI 2.1 etc) Xbox will be on top, simple as that.
Just get a PC if you want better graphics, squinting 30cm from screen comparing is just....sad.

Xbox or PlayStation really comes down to personal preference and I feel like Xbox/microsoft is more consumer friendly then PlayStation/sony
Iv always owned an xbox, simply preferred the controller more than anything. Finally joining the darkside and getting a ps5. Too many good exclusives plus games iv missed over the last few years. Bloodborne, ghost of Tsushima, God Of War, Spiderman, Last of Us etc

I have both and single player games on PS5 are great, however, they are few and far between. It takes you about a week to complete them, whereas Game Pass keeps you busy for longer with the amount of games on there.

I've been an Xbox fan ever since the 360 first launched in 2005. If it weren't for the backwards compatibility, controller comfort, left thumb stick above the dpad, the exclusives, and the history of games that I purchased throughout the course of 10 years I would DEFINATELY choose the PS5 as my console

I’m a long time PlayStation user and I love my PS5, however I decided to get a Xbox Series X this generation to go along my PS5 and Xbox won me over, Quick Resume and Gamepass is a no brainer, the high tech Dualsense controller is cool but I keep the haptics feedback in low and I disabled the adaptive triggers 90-95% of the time so, I lean towards Xbox this generation but like I said I love my PS5 as well.

I’ve had both play station is slightly better
After Halo Infinite getting worse overtime my Xbox has been collecting dust …. Occasionally playing my Xbox 360 library when Xbox had better experience with exclusives….. Since launch I’ve been spending the majority of my time on the new PlayStation 5 with better quality of exclusives.

Games back then were a lot smaller. Try fitting 120gbs of data onto a dvd, a 20+ year old platform. I've been gaming since the 90s and I think technology has come such a long way. I can wait to install a game.
Seriously considering making the switch from Xbox to PlayStation, games are better, and Sony seem to know what console gamers want. Microsoft don't have much to offer anymore besides the game pass, but a PC can get those games aswell so... why bother with the Xbox.

I have both consoles, any Xbox does not compete with PS5 in any way. The PS5 exclusives are worth more than the gamepass for me. Not to mention all of Xbox’s exclusives are coming to ps5 anyways.

to be profitable on a subscription model strategy you need to get those high subscriber numbers in. You can see how big streaming services like netflix, disney plus etc. are struggling to keep making profits. I would assume that therefore, microsoft has to realease its Gamepass on Playstation at some point. They are slowly losing its hardware business. Makes no sense owning an xbox series x right now.

Playstation 1-5 since childhood to now. And yeah he's got a legit point. More game variety on PS5 than current Xbox. The only game I'd literally play was only on the first 2 consoles. Jet Set Radio Future is the name.

All of those games are coming to playstation and for a reason so they're not really exclusive. Playstation has more exclusives, it is what it is. Still the xbox showcase was amazing. Just wait until we see what PS studios are doing. The state of play sucked because Sony has been producing games since the start of this generation, I'm sure they're cooking too which is good for all of us.

I know people are beginning to lose faith in Sony and its studios as nothing has been shown and some of them haven’t shown anything for several years now. I’d it has a PS5 Pro coming it may wait to launch that then showcase new games on it to try and sell the new system.

For Backwards Compatibility, storage space, and longer battery life controller go Xbox Series X. For a slightly more immersive experience (RPG games) go PS5. For competitive gaming, Xbox by far with $40 Gamesir G7 HE controller (Amazon).

The problem with what you’re saying is that i leave out a very important factor. You’re looking at global sales. Not sales in the US. Microsoft doesn’t readily share this data but we can make some inferences. Not exact but it’s close.
PS5 is beating Xbox by 5 million in Japan. Total sales for PlayStation are just over 5.5 million there. Meaning Xbox has just barely sold half a million consoles.
It’s the same in other parts of the world as well. Sony is eating their lunch everywhere in the world. The US though is a different story. All of these staggering differences lead me to guess that in the US they aren’t that far apart.
Which tells me it’s not the console. It’s the marketing that’s killing them. Or potentially the market. Some markets have a different mindset.
People give me shit all the time for having a PC and spending more money than a console while getting fried by someone while playing cod or whatever other FPS is on both. Honestly its just the best of both worlds when it comes to gaming, at least for me. Most single player games from both are accessible, same with multiplayer. The days i loved consoles were for split screen single player games, which are all but dead now days, and I wish upon so many stars that they would bring it back, that was the true peak.
Exactly. We need more titles like It Takes Two. One of the things I like using my playstation for are the co op games. Outside of It takes Two, Overcooked and Moving Out there's not much there.. The Switch is the better experience for that

One X is fine but some new games won’t work on it, some new games coming out will be for series s/X only.
But most games at the moment work for any Xbox one so it’s fine…. It’s up to you.
One x is great for older titles, but it is dead. I have one and I'm considering a series x for the current titles. Also newer titles that do play on one x don't run well. I have upgraded my one x with an SSD and I often prefer playing on my ally. Higher fps, better CPU even with lower graphics. If you are definitely staying with One titles it's great, but its dead.

Didnt really care about the PS5 up until the release of Black Myth: Wukong which is not on the series x. Its only available on PC and digitally on the PS5. Now, Im a big xbox guy. But to all those saying that xbox graphics are better than ps5.. then why wasnt wukong released for the xbox?
I’ve gone back to Xbox again after trying the PS5 for a year. Both great consoles. Exclusives on PS don’t quite make me want to stay. Xbox features, backwards compatibility, prices and controllers feel better. I think the controllers are a big thing for me. Way more sturdy on the Xbox. I went through a couple of PS controllers through wear and tear in just a year. Mainly the R1 and L1 failing. Perhaps I’m heavy handed/bit of a tight gripper.
Bro i feel you, bought the ps5 but now i am planning to switch to XboxSeriesX. Just like you those exclusive just dont do justice for me. All the game i love is from thirdparties, eg. F12024 , motogp24, Mortal Kombat etc etc
Yeah man, I get that. Little additions for me were Splinter Cell titles not being available on PS5. Games like Dishonored and Alien Isolation being 60fps but not 60fps on PS. It all adds up. I played Spiderman and Miles Morales and it’s literally beating people up and then go somewhere else and beat those guys up, then do it again. Still great games for the spiderman experience but definitely not an exclusive to boast about. Ghost of Tsushima is a good example perhaps.
PS5 has one thing that Xbox does not bigger memory expansions Xbox max is 2tb PS5 has 8tb max, and with games getting bigger that is huge,
Now some say gamepass but is it worth it in the long haul? You do not own the games you rent them, miss a payment or gamepass crashes you lose the games.
I've become so lazy to the point that I genuinely prefer not owning the games to having to get up and swap the games physically on the console. Digital all the way. Physical can only be superior for me if it allows to play without having to insert the CD after the first time. Maybe lock the disc to my console until I uninstall it from my PS5.

The difference in cost between being a PlayStation gamer and a Xbox gamer is about on par with difference in cost between smoking and vaping.
Let me start by saying i have always been a loyal playstation fan. I did own an xbox one a few years back and recently i decided to get the X. My reason for this is I feel a little disappointed with the games the ps5 has to offer so far. Dont get me wrong it is a good console with awesome potential. I also find that xbox always seems that little bit better in terms of its graphical ability and smooth game play. They just do exclusives very well, the studios that produce many of these games are very gamer focussed and attention to detail is always a priority. The whole gaming experience feels polished and aesthetically pleasing to play. It feels like a well refined, mature gaming experience. Also the vast range of good games playable on Game Pass is a winner for me. Still love the ps5 though and it will remain in service for some games!

The disc drive still makes the ps5 ugly, it should have been integrated into the black area on the console.
It was automatic at that start of the generation when PS5 released several exclusives at the start of the generation and Xbox delay their exclusive till the year after. Then 2022 no big seller for Xbox. Even after their acquisition of Activision, Blizzard, and Bethseda, they will still release it on the Playstation 5.

Release on console for a year or two before coming to PC so more people get to experience the game, but it also keeps sales on the console for a while. Basically a long term timed exclusive.

I have both a xbox series x and a ps5 and i liked spiderman, i kinda liked gran turismo, for xbox the game pass, the new recent exclusives they all have been nice, but if i had to choose i would prefer an xbox series x just because its more convenient to what i mainly play, dont get me wrong the ps5 dual sense remote is nice i just prefer the UI, the apps and games on xbox plus i have been using xbox since 2010 and i tried a ps3 ps4 id still go for xbox, they are just more simpler to use in my opinion

See here's the deal, you say that Xbox "failed" because you are measuring success based on how many consoles were sold and that's it. Well if you look at the most popular games on PS5 right now namely MINECRAFT, SEA OF THIEVES and now CALL OF DUTY those are all Xbox games. Microsoft also has the massive PC market that they are selling to, PlayStation doesn't get that. And lets not forget that this last generation of consoles has been really weird thanks to covid and all that so don't count out all of the Xbox players that are still playing on their Xbox ones because they just haven't felt the need to buy the new console yet. AND lets also not forget that Microsoft and Sony sell these consoles at a loss to get players into the ecosystem so that they can then sell them games, THAT is where the real money is Microsoft may not sell as many consoles as Sony but they are selling a lot of games and raking in lots of money from game pass I also want to mention that I mainly play on PC with my Xbox being a companion system sitting on my desk I also have a PS5 as well and I love it but I just never use it because all of my games are on Xbox or PC as well as my friends so I only use it when I want to play an exclusive, WHICH by the way a lot of Sony's exclusives are now on PC :D
I have all of them when it comes to deal it's Xbox but when it comes to games it's both Nintendo and PlayStation. PC can beat them all due to having more versatility and emulation with mods or hacks. Xbox hasn't been the same since Xbox 360 as they haven't made anything interesting. The starfield was a disappointment as I felt like it was rushed. Then Xbox doesn't have any gimmicks after they gave up with Kinect. They focused more on subscription and streaming vs actually making games. They finally made a low tier to compete with the cheaper option of subscriptions on PlayStation and Nintendo. Game pass has a massive library that you don't have time to play them all. I compare consoles like food chains. Xbox is buffet, Nintendo is your breakfast restaurant as the menu hardly changes, and PlayStation is your regular restaurant that can serve you variety. Mobile are your fastfood chains. PC would be your high end Michelin star restaurants. Xbox can be overwhelming which makes you miss great games as there's too much. That's the advantage of Nintendo and PlayStation they let you focus on what's good while Xbox is you freestyle.

Anyone who has not yet purchased a new console should opt for the Series X, and wait for the PS6. It's a more sensible choice... unless you're dying to play every remaster that Sony releases.

@@engjds I've just done the math, you can build yourself RTX 3080 PC that is barely over 500$ and it would fold your PS5 or Xbox in to a trash can. It will even completely outperform the upcoming PS5 pro... People are crazy sometimes.
@@gytispranskunas4984 I dont have a console, PC is my choice of weapon, you can buy 3080 based 2nd hand for around £500, but to make one for that is a tall order, you can get a XBOX 2nd hand for around £300-which is cheaper than any PC with on par performance. So I get why...
@@engjds what are you talking about. Rtx 3080s go as low as 300$ on used (depends where you live) You can pair it with Ryzen 5 + Mobo + Ram for 150$. Cheap ssd, case, and psu. All that is just over 500$. If you live in an area where GPUs are overpriced, you can go for RTX 3070... Which will still be complete overkill for PS5 or Xbox. Do you really REALLY think your PS5 can even remotely match RTX cards ?... It almost NEVER due 4K. In triple A games it barely does 1200p at 30fps upscaled to 4k. It's pathetic. If you used the same settings on PS5 Cyberpunk as you use on RTX 3070, your consoles could barely manage 5 fps... If it can do that at all. Inside the PS5 there is an RX5700XT equivalent GPU. A 150$ ancient AMD GPU.

People that say ps5 is better I legitimately think they dont play their games that often, I had both consoles for less than a year and I already had to buy another ps5 controller because of extreme stick drift, my ps5 also shuts off randomly and overheats sometimes so I dont even use rest mode, the xbox has a better controller, xbox pass offers more and better content, and the hardware is better no sound more sturdy and rest mode is perfect, for me thats big because i cloud game
PlayStation has lost me with it's choice to be picky about what games it does or doesn't let have cross-progression. I ordered a Series X and listed my PS5 on eBay. I've had enough of their bs.
Xbox has a internet browser,backward compatible, an dev mode for me to emulator playstation 2 games running at 60fps!!, quick resume, i can purchase keys/games from legit sites for cheap.... i can keep going

I just got a PlayStation 5 the original big one last year when I picked it up from Best Buy when I finshed work in last year of October 2023 and just got an Xbox Series X last Friday from Walmart since it was on sell for $449.00 to me love both consoles but PlayStation has the better exclusives than Xbox does though.
Playstation definitely have the better exclusives, this is what Microsoft is doing wrong as you pointed out. I played the last of us 1 on pc and it was a great game.
Microsoft recently released hell blade 2 , however they definitely need more single player story driven games.
Lets see what Microsoft does in the upcoming months, there is a new fable game , perfect dark , gears game in the works.

Tbh this generation the exclusives argument is pretty much null and void. Sony have been releasing mostly cross gen titles with a few exceptions (spiderman 2) hence the reason why ps4 still has a massive adoption rate. There’s not really been a reason to buy a ps5 for the mainstream. Microsoft have gamepass and I would argue has a huge future with its acquired studios and more games in the making. Both consoles are great and get an even amount of love from me.

I wouldn’t say that Xbox “failed.” Neither has truly succeeded in my opinion. Sony has sold more units and has at most 11 more AAA games. Both systems sold less than the previous gens and have fewer good exclusives.

I have a pc, xbox one x and ps4 pro. They all have advantages and it really depends on how you game. All three have great games. Ps exclusives are so damn good. Game pass is an absolute God send. I’m looking to buy one just for college football.
If you play fighting games most of the tournaments are on PlayStation.

there are 3 very good reasons why Xbox will eat PS5 alive ANYDAY....yes, even series S:
obviously the 2 main ones are:
- gamepass - PSN is a joke...and the top tiers nobody actually buys them to play PS4 games, you have no day one, no nothing...we will exclude the fact that it is more expensive or that you can get gamepass for cheap from 3rd party sites for prices lower than 10$
- quick resume - whatever bullshit people say about hardware and bla bla, you will never be able to convince anybody that all that hardware crap is more relevant than the ability to open your console and be in game at the exact spot where you left (without any ingame save feature) or switch games in a matter of seconds and pickup exactly where you left off, no loading screens no menus or other BS.
and the final...MOST IMPORTANT argument:
- you can play your pc games library on the console through geforce now / amazon luna or any other game streaming service through the browser.
now tell me how 3-4 15 hour cinematic exclusives where console + games gets you in the ball park of 800$ is a better deal than a 300-500$ deal where you literally have gamepass + thousands of games at your disposal from your pc library
not only this but +++ discounts either on microsoft store or PC launchers like steam / epic / ubisoft etc.
the simple fact that you can play a good part of your pc library on xbox is game over from a "console war" perspective....sony won the "sales" battle but microsoft has won the war and nuked sony out of existence
Xbox is good but you don't need to buy it. GeForce Now is a great service and it can link to all of your games in gamepass. PS5 has been weak so far but the gen is just beginning due to Covid delays. Xbox has a fantastic roadmap with it's games and I hope Sony can deliver too

PS5 is weak and that's it...there's no "coming back due to covid"....80% of their exclusives are available for PS4 as well so what's the reason to buy PS5? 2 games?

It's never been an either/or choice - technically, you need to have both for the exclusives. But the point nowadays is: As far as I am concerned, the ONLY exclusive Playstation titles that I ever cared about are now all available for PC (read: Uncharted 4, maybe Ghost of Tsushima). So there's literally no need to buy a PS5, because she doesn't offer ANY game I WANT to play that doesn't already exist for Xbox. As for Xbox Series X: She's backwards compatible to my ENTIRE game library back to the original Xbox - and I -do- have a library that spans all those generations. And here comes the killer argument: GEARS OF WAR. I replay the entire GEARS franchise more than once every year, so thank you very much - you can't do that on Playstation, you can't do that on PC either.
Oh, and unlike the Playstation: The Xbox Series X and S do NOT produce ANNOYING FAN NOISE. You do NOT HEAR those consoles EVER. THEY'RE QUIET. That is the REAL killer argument - and their predecessors, the Xbox One, the One S and the One X have also already been DEAD QUIET! (While the PS4 produced a Jet Engine Fan Noise!)
tl;dr: You want the best gaming console on the planet? Buy a Series X. End of story. (The second best is the Series S - I already own a Series S, and that thing is unbeatable at its price - especially if you can buy her on sale.)

man I just bought a series x, and I have had it for about a week now. I’m seriously thinking on returning it, I’ve used it twice for the set up and like 40 mins of cod💀, I bought it to be my game pass machine, but found out that i still prefer to go to my gaming pc for the game pass which can run games at better quality and fps. I love how the console looks but makes me regret it since I’ll just have to be sitting there, plus I bought ir at full price.(sorry for the long as* comment)
