In this video, I'll be walking you through every single step in the process of rooting your Pixel 4a.
With an unlockable bootloader and a price tag that keeps the risk-reward ratio low, the Pixel 4a is the new king of rootable phones.
You'll have to enable Developer Options, allow OEM unlocking, unlock the bootloader, then patch the stock boot image and flash it in fastboot - but it's not as bad as it sounds if you have somebody walking you through each step.

works great, no brick, the Pixel is rooted. thanks. But how removed the message " the bootloader is unlocked " each time I restart my phone ?
you haven't explained a really important part here - how to disable dm-verity, which prevents you from flashing any custom boot imgs. People are confused. I am confused. And people, your phones ain't bricked, just get the stock boot img and flash it, everything will be fine.

I can confirm it does. I use the unlocked version. I ordered it right from Google not making the mistake of getting it from my provider At&t.

I'm waiting until Android 11 is released to the public to Root my Pixel 4a it's just best to wait because once you Root it using this method you'd have to do a lot of things just to get back to stock Android because with this method it patches your Boot Image so basically you can't just Unroot and go back to Stock Android you'd have to run a whole bunch of command's on your computer and all that just to be able to get back to stock Android and be able to update your phone again it's really a pain and I wish someone would make a easier way unfortunately TWRP still hasn't found a way around this in Android 10 or Android 11 I'm hoping one day there will be a easier method to Root Pixel Phone's without patching the Boot Image.

This method will brick your phone, as the Magisk Manager does not properly patch the boot.img. Do not use.
Magisk Canary works really great it even patches verify boot inside the boot image, allowing you to boot the custom boot.img without boot-loop issues.

@@Absarock1 I pressed off button and volume up button (the buttons vary from different phones )
I then plugged it into the computer.
And used Google's tool and clicked reset .
I was not able to wipe the phone without a computer.

Dude I followed this and it fucked my phone up it’s stuck in boot loader screen with the error boot repair

bliss os is great so is superior os lineage is good too if you want limited google apps
