- I covered the "Kooper Kiss" glitch back in a previous Top 10 Video, but it's deserving of a more detailed video outlining a few animation-related game-crashing glitches. Unlike most glitches showcased on this channel, these are exclusive to the Japanese version of Paper Mario. The English version does not have a window where the next room can be entered before the cutscene activates.
I'm pretty sure the glitch was discovered by 0xwas, not sure how many instances he tested himself, but I recall him having the first video of "Kooper Kiss."

It's pretty silly that the game's reaction to a missing/incorrect animation is SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN, ALL IS LOST instead of "just skip that one".

It doesn't actually shut down, the computer is just waiting for something that will never happen.
Is it bad that ik exactly who your pic is?
Thing is, allowing the game to continue with sequence errors could completely screw the game progression up, and possibly make it impossible to continue, and then if you allow the player to save while in this state... yeah.
Hence why their policy when making this was: "When in doubt, crash".

Actually fun fact that I found out while messing around with this glitch. For whatever reason the game actually crashes when you have Lakilester as the active partner during the Bombette cutscene on the Wii U virtual console. I don't know why it does but it happened to me while I was practicing and decided to do the glitch and use Lakilester for it. Just thought this would be worth pointing out.

If you pay attention to the shadows on the ground, you'll realize that the real Bombette is still in Mario's party, just invisible.

I also have two questions/requests; You do it in a lot of videos but would you be willing to do a short tutorial video on how to do loading zone storage, such as what frame to do it on with slow-mo replays and stuff?
Also, I know you don't talk about the lore much of Paper Mario but one thing I've always wondered since I was kid is that on the background picture of the file select screen there are two toads running away from a concerned Princess Peach and I was curious as to why you might think the toads are running away from her.
It's not a video and I'm not Stryder but I can try to give you a basic explanation about Loading Zone Storage, or LZS.
Basically you have to jump into a loading zone and then continue to do 'frame perfect' jumps, continue doing this while going in the opposite direction. As for what frame is 'frame perfect' I'm not so sure on.
Also, perhaps the Toads are running away from Peach because they're just cowards, I mean it's not the first and definitely not the last time they've abandoned their sworn duties.
The "frame perfect" part basically means that you're pressing A the instant Mario touches the ground (or possibly just before, I haven't tried myself). You have about 0;03 seconds (the 1 perfect frame, divided by the game's speed of 30 frames per second) to do this jump, before the game goes "oh yeah, loading zone" and takes you to the other area.
