How did Moff Gideon crush the Darksaber? It's made of beskar...
Also, it's hard for me to understand why Bo-Katan wouldn't come flying into Moff Gideon with the Darksaber... She should've done him exactly like she did the trooper right before that moment. That was a wasted opportunity... Could've taken his block clean off and called it a day.

There is something that everybody seems to keep forgetting.....
NOT EVERY MANDO WEARS "FULL BESKAR" !
If you Remember from season one our boy started out with regular Durasteel Mando styled armor. His first piece (besides his helmet) was just a shoulder Pauldron. Only after his big payday did he have enough materials to upgrade to a full suit.
Most do not get full Beskar, and might have pieces and parts.
The imperials don't know the secrets of forging pure Beskar, and usually have Alloys, especially from mass production.

  • @YoungClarke
    @YoungClarke Год назад +2

Few things I noticed that may or may not come up: the creed spoken at the end didn’t include not removing your helmet, I think that now that they have rebounded Mandalore it may not be required anymore.
The scene at the forge, Ragnar was standing beside Ax. Since he and Paz seemed to have a bit of a rivalry, I think it is super touching if he takes Ragnar as his own apprentice. I would be so excited if that became a show of its own.
With two planets already aligning with Mandalorians, I think there is real potential that Mandalore takes a place as a galactic contender again, with its own sphere of influence outside of the republic and imperial successors. Post sequel storylines might very well have a Mandalore contending with the others. The Mythosaur awakening, as Mandalore awakens.
And the Armorer was totally leading Din to adopt grogu, I love her so much.

My take on the spies (an unpopular one) is that it was referring to the Dark Council and the spy on the "ground" floor on Corruscant for Gideon. Through their connections they were granted resources (probably more men) and the 3 praetorian guards.
I think they named episode 7 "The Spies" so that we the audience would cast doubt. After all, the Mandalorians are known to have conflicts with different clans and groups. However, I think it was to confuse us, the viewer. They did show us the Spies of the Empire if you count the Dark Council members. After all, that was an intelligence meeting. We forget that these Mandalorians are the survivors of the single greatest tragedy to befall the Mandalorian race, The Purge. Even worse than the results of the Mando/Jedi(Sith) war that happened before the KOTOR franchise (I know it's not considered canon anymore, but still). So seeing them unite as Mandalorians first and foremost to counter the Imperial Remnants beskar wearing Commandos was a beautiful sight to behold. They truly took back their home and beskar.

I saw a theory about last weeks episode "The Spies" and it's not actually intending for anyone to be a "Spy" so to speak, sure Elia Kane is *the* spy but "The Spies" refers to 12 Judaic spies that investigated a town for Moses to see if it were safe for them to take over or live in or whatever, 2 of the 12 spies were confident they could conquer the town the others were exaggurating that it would be impossible. The episode is and the season as a whole is essentially this re-told!

21:46 Man, the first thing I thought when I saw that was: Sabine would be so proud and happy to see this. I think based on that one interaction with Ezra in Rebels that a big dream of her was always to see nature alive and well again on her homeworld and here it is, the beginnings of nature returning after so many years (even before the empire there was already no nature because of the Wars between Mandalorian Factions)
My personal theory for the Mythosaur right now is:
I personally had the theory since I watched Rebels that many planets have creatures that are a manifestation of the Cosmic Force and help to keep their world in the balance as best as possible. The most obvious one being "The Bendu" but another "one" being Loth-Wolfes (in this case they are multiple and not a single creature though the white one seems to be the primary one). And, well, I think the Mythosaur could very well be that creature for Mandalore.

I can see Grogu re-making the dark saber and eventually becoming the leader of Mandalore post Bo-Katan and even Ragnar. Maybe Ragnar can become a major character of even his own series with Grogu. Yoda was 900 years old when he died. So approx, every 50 human years = 4-5 years. So when Grogu becomes a teenager, the equivalent at 13, he would be around 140-150 human years old and will be hanging with Ragnar's kids.

Mandalore is an Earth-like planet, so I'll assume its gravity is similar (9.83m/s^2), and I'll assume Axe Woves, armour, jetpack and all, is about 100 kg. The energy density for something like LNG would be 50 MJ/kg, and even having something like 70 MJ/kg in Star Wars wouldn't be crazy to imagine. I'll assume the height he'd fly to would be 400 000 m, which is the orbital height of the ISS on Earth. I calculated that, based on the canonical diameter of Mandalore (9200 km) and the assumption of its gravity being similar on the surface that the mass of the planet Mandalore is 3.117 kg *10^24, about half that of the Earth with 5.972 kg * 10^24. From this we can calculate that the gravitational acceleration will decrease to about 8.32 m/s^2 by the time he reaches the ships, but we'll also assume that air resistance takes a bite out of the energy along with some inefficiencies given Carnot efficiency ratio limits etc. so we'll say it's fine.
The main question as to could that be done is the air resistance and the power of the jetpack. Launching a rocket in a vacuum is child's play compared to trying to bust a missile through an atmosphere. I'll assume the drag coefficient is 0.82, the cross-sectional area is 0.1 m^2 (even multiplying by 10 here would only increase the end mass of the fuel he has by about 2 kg). His velocity has to be above the escape velocity of about 9509m/s, and he'd have to go through the first 150 000 m with an atmospheric density which starts at around 10^(-3) g/cm^3 and goes to 10^(-12) g/cm^3 in a logarithmic fashion, I'll model this as an integral of (-0.054 ln(x)+0.2453) from 0 m to 150 000 m, which is 4.45885. The atmospheric resistance adds an energy cost of 16 500 000 J.
With this we get that the energy needed to fly that high is mgh=100*9.83*400000 J+16 500 000 J which is approximately 416 500 000 joules or 417 MJ. With LNG, this would weigh about 8 kg, and assuming an even more efficient fuel it could weigh even less, maybe even 6 kg. It would have a volume of about 8 L to 6 L which is a lot, but you could probably get that into the jetpack. The remaining questions are the properties of Beskar and the power of the jetpack; most normal objects would disintegrate in this flight from the heat and friction and I'm going to bet that jetpacks like that are basically hypertechnology, but I mean, it's not impossible I guess.

Here is my theory with the name either, Din is his family name, as in my culture, you always address with the family name first, then the given name. Since the Mandalorians are a warrior type culture that are nomadic in Star Wars (at that point at least), I think it is a nod towards Mongolian name giving. When you are born, you get a family name, which is the given name of the father and since The Hu is canon in Star Wars with Jedi Fallen Order, I wouldn't be surprised if that is just some cultural inspiration from it.

Gideon feared force sensitives before he saw Luke. Notice in the early seasons, Gideon was confident until he saw Luke and you can see the fear for the first time. Gideon was driven by fear of the Jedi and Sith because he did not have the force. This fear made him surround himself with Pretorian guards and beskar wearing storm troopers. That fear lead him to wrap himself in beskar dark trooper armor with hydraulic augmentation for super strength. He trusts no one but himself and thought a clone army of force sensitive Gideons were the only way to protect himself from other force sensitives. My point is that all of Moff Gideon's actions were driven by fear.

We have seen plenty of western naming conventions across all the rest of the mandalorians.... Fett, Kryze, Wren, Vizla, etc.
I believe the name "Din " is a honorific identifying an adopted individual who now has a direct family connection. Think of it as a title altering a base name similarly to the suffix xxxx-son or xxxx-dotter,
As a foundling you may have no name, only a family name or only your first name. We don't know the rules and they could easily differ between cultures and sects of the tribes.

36:14 I wouldn't write Gideon off just yet. He has an agent on Coruscant and she had Dr. Purshing gather necessary equipment to beginning cloning in ones room and she's in control of that now. Elia Kane is his eyes and ears and very loyal. This wasn't Gideon's only base remember? He had a cloning base on Nevarro too, so I think it's safe to assume he has clones elsewhere too. I wouldn't be surprised if he came back in season four or a spin off. Thrawn might have got named dropped in this series, but I don't think we'll see him in it, at least not anytime soon. Gideon IS Mandalore's nemesis, and while they seemingly got revenge on the guy who orchestrated its fall, Gideon still has plans in actions happening elsewhere and you've got to know that Mandalore's armor is out there keeping the Empire safe. Mandalore will not rest until they get back everything the Empire stole from them and right everyone wrong done to others with their image and armor.
Over all, I liked the finale. This team gets better with each series. The areal combat was awesome! I want them to get a new fight choreographer, though. The people in armor can't see well and it's clear that they can't--I was getting The Last Jedi flashback's watching their melee =/ Since there all covered from head to toe, can't they get skilled fighters who can memorize the choreography and go at it? Faster passed fight sequence would help things in a huge way. If they can fix this by next season I'll be a happy camper.
Like everyone else, I'd like to see longer finale's too, but I've got to admit they had enough time to wrap up this story. I just want to see them break the mold, even if only once a season. Why can't we get an hour episode? Why does every story have to come in under an hour? Yeah, I know they're expensive to make, but you're telling me that they can't make even one story longer than the norm?

  • @wickedcatsrodriguez

This episode was amazing! Now we see what he wanted Grogu for. I think this ties a lot of things together, and it allows Din and Grogu to go on more adventures like in the first season. I think even if Gideon isn't gone, I think Thrawn could do away with him, it seems he's the one that's going to be the big fish now. I don't think Din will miss Mandalore because he didn't grow up there.
I also think that this leads to a great possibility for Din to visit Mandalore and Boba, or even give Bo, Axe, and the Armorer for their own story, I woudln't mind that.

But very few paused to think about how ridiculous it would have been to name an episode after something that was not revealed in said episode. The best explanation for the title that I’ve seen is that it refers to the whole scout team of Mandalorians who “spied” out the conditions of the planet, much like Moses and Joshua sent spies to check out the promised land.

It wraps up the storyline for Moff Gideon and also leaves the door open now for Thrawn's return, as well as the continuing adventures of Din and Grogu. After what they said at SWC about Din not being the only main character of the show anymore, I feel like "The Mandalorian" show could continue and follow Bo-Katan and the other Mandalorians rebuilding, while the adventures of Din and Grogu could continue in "Rangers of the New Republic" alongside Carson Teva.
