The armorer is a true hero! SHE realized that the time was ripe for Mandalorians to unite and she pushed Bo Katan to be the leader of all Mandalore. She saw the bigger picture and was willing to put aside their differences in order for Mandalore to live again! If she didn't do that then they may have never reclaimed Mandalore or it may not have happened for many years!

Honestly I kinda want the next season to start with a timeskip so we can see Adult Grogu, I wanna see what his Mandalorian armor and helmet will look like!
@@swordsmanthegamernine7973 Well they screwed that opportunity partially with ages of characters and the timeline. oh my god....was it just me or did that music that played when grog was shielding Bo and Din from the fire sound (16:19) eerily similar to the music that plays in the Prince of Egypt when Moses splits the Red Sea? it might just be because both pieces are orchestral but....those first few powerful notes gave me serious flashbacks. (if anyone wants to compare the music tracks themselves, the music starts at about 1:30 into this video: "The Prince of Egypt (1998) - Parting the Red Sea Scene (9/10) | Movieclips". I swear, they had to take inspiration. I'm glad they did, both tracks are very emotionally powerful and awesome (as in, awe-inspiring.) Was not expecting the reference at all though, if it is intended to be a homage.)
The point that Eric made about seeing all these shows as one big thing is exactly how I see it. I get that not everybody gets everything they want, and I myself can be somewhat disappointed with one thing or another. But all in all I am thouroughly enjoying all of it. I'm starting to think the Armorer and Din Djarin are closer than we realise. Did she raise him? Was Din Djarin her apprentice? There was a beat when she talked about "his teacher" taking him on his journey.
A lot of people are thinking that. I think a better take would be that his teacher that raised him was very close to the armorer, perhaps even her love interest. And that trainer is Dead. So basically she was there side by side and knows a lot about Din and who trained him kind of like Din's Mother but not his father or trainer. That makes more sense to me in the way she acts around him.
Star wars truly is a full circle story, First episode we see how much Din cares for the future of foundlings always giving a share of his bounties to forge their armor, now we see him adopting a foundling, teaching and raising him as a student and son, if the series ends here, I wouldn't be dissapointed.
When they showed grogu protecting sim and Bo in the fire, i just started crying. Star Wars has been with me forever. I'm so glad I'm around to see such peak starwars

I have a theory that Professor Huyang might be able to repair the darksaber and reforge it to become Grogu size, because he is over a thousand years old, he would have been around when Tarre Vizla first built the thing and has records of nearly every lightsaber built since.
to be fair its Old tech and probably easy to repair even if they just have to use the original as reference the Special Dark Crystal is the ONLY part that can't be replace or repaired. Lightsabers are Not actually hard to make they are just dangerous for anyone who doesn't have the force to keep them selves from cutting themselves with it. Din has hurt himself at least twice with it so far.
Or it could be that grogu has to use the left over parts of the darksaber, as well as some other parts to force a new saber for themselves. Being the first true Jedi-mandalorian in many ages
The darksaber represented and even encouraged infighting between Mandalorians for over 1000 years. The whole point of it being destroyed was to further reinforce the line " we are stronger together " and new change of the Mandalorian culture. They're done fighting each other, it is time to rebuild. To then go back and rebuild the darksaber would be a *HUGE MISTAKE!* Din Grogu is now canonically on track to become the new Tarre Vizsla. Maybe in another 1000 years people will be fighting over the saber he will eventually build.
The Armorer is Din's adoptive mother. That's why she had a very specific tone when talking about Grogu's parents, her reaction to Din adopting, and leaving Mandalore like his teacher did for him. I think she was that Teacher, before she worked up to her current station as Armorer. This is my new head Canon, and nobody can change my mind!! LOL
nah Filoni said thats not planned yet so probably wont happen until the movie or season 5 (cause season 4 is done in writing already) but yeah, i was kinda expecting it as well :D
I had to rewind like 3 times before I was convinced he hadn't said "bad" when Din said they wouldn't be safe until Gideon was gone. Turned out he just babbled and said something like "baaa" He is clearly trying to speak and is working towards it. In an earlier episode, Din and, I believe, the armorer, said "This is the way" and Grogu tried his best to say it as well.
The Armorer is SO COOL this episode and yeah shame on anyone who said that she might be the spy LOL. She was, is, and will always be some kind of a 'mother', 'counsellor', 'guide', you name it, the closest personification of The Way itself. Personally, from the very first of her appearance I always thought, in a way, that her character is almost like a sacred being in mandalorian society, with how she carried herself and how others usually look up at her, emily swallow did a good job on bringing this character alive
Well, kanan was holding back a bigger explosion, and he was standing on a fuel silo holding back the other explosion while trying to keep the one he was standing on intact to save everyone
I don't bother with other reactions/reviews. You guys nail it. The love of Star Wars shines out of you and you are always positive, even about the not so good episodes. Your knowledge about Star Wars, your discussions about filming decisions, your analysis is always excellent. No other channel comes close.
Mando and Joel are officially the same character. They're surrogate dads who have a kid with rare abilities, they're both smugglers/contractors, and Mando just took out a hallway full of people by stealing weapons and using them against their comrades.
It just dawned on me that we're going to see a live action Ezra Bridger, in person. All this time I've been like "yeah, Ahsoka is all about looking for Ezra", but until now, I never really thought about what happens AFTER he's found. We could see Ezra and Ahsoka, and maybe even Luke, fighting Thrawn at some point.
I am 100% onboard the theory that the title "The Spies" was a biblical reference to Moses and the Twelve Spies he sent to explore Canaan, each being from a different tribe. In this, the word "spies" basically just means "scouts". Also, if I remember correctly, last episode they sent 13 Mandalorians down to scout out Mandalore. Bo and her Twelve Spies (Scouts). Bo specifically also asked for people from each tribe to join her in her quest to do so. Loooots of similarities.
This episode gave me everything ive wanted since the season 1 finale! I wanted Din and Grogu to settle down in a little house on some peaceful planet but still go on adventures! im so glad that my wish came true!! ALSO MANDOLORE IS BACK WOOH!
When Axe Woves escorted everyone out of the ship I thought he was going to sit down and smile like, haha fools they fell for it (I thought he was a spy)
I actually have an interesting theory. As I've noticed, if we go back, we can see, that Moff Gideon had a moustache in first 2 seasons, but he didn't have in season 3. So i think that the one we were fighting here was also a clone like the other, that Mando killed. And the real Gideon is still alive somewhere in space
I like that in S1E1, The Mandalorian was introduced in an opening iris transition (saloon door opening), and S3E8, he (and Grogu) is shown in a closing iris transition.
The Mandalorians should have a big advantage in that fight. They've been wearing the armor for years and know how to use it and the vulnerabilities in ways that the troopers don't.
I was so relieved when I heard that "Lady Kreeze, your reenforcements have arrived!". That theory, as well as all those "rumours" Din would die really f.ed me up while watching. I was holding my hands to my face during that whole fight with Gideon. :D
I was really hoping Gideon would walk out from that fireball, adjust his suit, turn to face the camera to reveal that half of his face was missing, and then drop dead. 😂 He was really giving me Gus Fring vibes in the previous episode when he was talking to the other Imperial officers. It was like they were the cartel bosses that he was secretly plotting against, and I loved it.
Beskar could be worked because of the special properties from the water from the mines of Mandalore. This is how the Armorer was able to tell Din went to there because it reacted properly. So... does that mean the special ingredient to beskar armor is mythosaur piss?
We got teased like twice in a row because at first I thought they were going to make Grogu say his first word, then when that failed, I thought Din would seek out Yoda’s species/homeworld, just for him to say I’ll adopt him when practically adopted him in season 1
That jetpack fight was incredible. What really impressed me is that none of the moves felt wrong. Often with those kind of fight they float weirdly and it feels like gravity is off, but it was perfect. For example the shot where Bo slides on the deck for a second before dropping off, hovering, and firing two knee missiles. That whole thing was believable from a physics perspective
Right? Surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly, given technology nowadays), the hand-to-hand ground fights felt way less believable and impactful than the air combat this episode.
my face hurt this entire episode: it was fixed with anxiety for the Mandalorians and Grogu, it was fixed with anger at the Imperials and their actions, and it was fixed with a smile at how satisfying the last ten minutes of the episode was. this was a fitting end.
Rest in peace Darksaber, you were a historical weapon for them and for us, the eras change but we will always remember you, who knows, maybe one day a force user and Mandalorian will come out again and a similar one can be created, This is the way
@Andy B So is the Dark Trooper suit Gideon has, and based on the fist fight he was having with Djarin, he either had a lot of Beskar in that suit or there was more than just Beskar
@@andyb6400 i think from the sounds alone its implied that the new dark trooper suits (or maybe just Gideon's) have some sort of mechanical or hydraulics or something
Great reaction! What Eric said at 26:13 was precisely what I was thinking - if Mandalore decided to appoint a council to rule, they could each have their own Darksaber or similar; they could have taken the destroyed Darksaber (don't think it's out of the question, given it was on the platform with them when they survived the blast) and used it as a template or even restored it, much like how they repaired Anakin's lightsaber prior to The Rise of Skywalker. I don't know, I just feel like the weapon is such an interesting part of the story and has such a storied history; while it seems to be in line with a new leaf for Mandalore (and is one less thing for them to fight over), I think it could still be possible that it isn't gone forever and can have a use in the future. I certainly hope so!
Maybe when ever the new version is made, now or in years, it’s has to be given freely to be properly passed on. Wouldn’t that be an excellent cherry on top!
Anyone else notice that in the S2 finale a Mandalorian fought Gideon with a spear whilst Gideon used the darksaber. Now its a Mandalorian who uses the darksaber and Gideon with a spear-like weapon.
There's a story in the Bible with Moses and him having 12 "spies" and being more like scouts for the promised land. So with mandalore being the promised land and taking it back, the scouting party had 12 that came with bo. So it could be that interpretation of spies as to why there was no traitor reveals.
I love that with the black and red armour, the horns and the double-ended staff, Moff Gideon resembled Maul during the fight with Bo-Katan. It's like Bo was fighting for Mandalore against the previous usurper of Mandalore who killed her sister.. It's like poetry. It rhymes.
Can't wait to see Axe become father figure to Ragnar as way of honouring Paz' death. (Notice he's standing next to him at the forge). Also, Din Armourer confirmed? She got emotional when Grogu was adopted by Din, and also when she was telling him to head out on adventures as his teacher did. She adopted Din and taught him the way, for sure. This is the way!
According to what I have read, a fourth season is in development. Interconnected spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew expand on The Mandalorian's timeframe, with an untitled feature film directed by Filoni set to serve as a conclusion to the interconnected stories.
Love the Finale! The symbiotic relationship demonstrated by Grogu & Mando, demonstrating that the combined skill sets can overcome any enemy. Storyline was great, and looking forward to Season IV!! Calling it now, Grogu will come back and bond/ride the Mythosaur! Also "Spies" can easily be a low-key reference to Thrawn having a plant since Gideon had no Love for Thrawn and I'm sure it was reciprocated. Remember Thrawn plays the long game. Loved story arc.
Don’t know if this was said or discussed, but you noticed how the Mythosaur opened up its eyes once Grogu officially became a Mandolorian. Yes, I know the Mythosaur had its eyes open when Bo flew by, but I take that it was being disturbed from its rest.
the ones in that room are dead, but the possibility of Gideon clones that predate the force-fused ones is still there. After all, he did say "...were finally going to be perfect." Implying that there were earlier models without the force. Gideon could be like Stargate SG-1's System Lord Ba'al and have clones trying to carry out his plans for some time to come.
Omnimedia figured out what the title of the last episode meant with the help of a commenter "The Spies" title is referring to the Mandalorians who were "spying ahead" to make sure Mandalore is safe to inhabit . It's a reference to "the 12 spies" dispatched by Moses, to scout ahead the land of canaan for Israelite people . This explains the title pretty well . Even though I wasn't one of those people who was trying to figure out who the spies were . ( I forgot about the title while watching the episode 😅) So it made me enjoy the episode more cause I wasn't waiting for someone to betray us
There will be a season 4. Favreau finished writing it in February; they are in Pre-production as of this month, so building sets, creating costumes, etc. Filming is hopefully to start at end of year. I believe a Spring 2025 release date at the earliest but likely later, and I believe there will be a 10-15 year time jump with Mando older, Mandalore being rebuilt, and Grogu as a toddler (warwick Davis-esqe actor walking around instead of puppets).
I like how since Gideon was beaten with the dark saber by a spear he now shows up with his own spear to beat the dark saber. Also Bo has KNEE ROCKETS!!!
Now season 4, just Din doing his job getting ressources for Mandalore, finding scattered Mandalorians and a little sideplot with Bo and the Armorer who're rebuilding around the forge.

I was so emotional seeing Grogu protecting Din and Bo from the explosion.😭😭
By becoming a contractor for the New Republic in the end, Mando and Grogu can go on more solo adventures like in the first season. It sort of hits the reset button on the characters.
Word 👍
Plus it lets them incorporate the planned story from the cancelled Rangers of the New Republic series
Honestly I kinda want the next season to start with a timeskip so we can see Adult Grogu, I wanna see what his Mandalorian armor and helmet will look like!
@@swordsmanthegamernine7973 Well they screwed that opportunity partially with ages of characters and the timeline. Grogu would become an adult roughly during the whoel Sequel Trilogy time...well not necessarily... he could be with Rey in the new Rey movie. But yeah Grogu will be an adult when Din is about ready to kick the bucket... post sequel times. Those sequels are stupid. So hopefully Grogu and the new Rey movie carry the canon stronger into that era. They have to double down on the stupid because they made it and released those ridiculous episode 8 and 9. But they can do better things around the periphery of that story and I hope they do.

He gave Gideon his ship back, definitely makes him the spy.
Everyone is misunderstanding the whole spy thing, its spies like scouts who scouted out the planet last episode like moses and his spies
You're right but imo it's just bad writing since pretty much everyone went into this episode wondering about the spy. They could've conveyed it better, especially since it was the episode's title
No, this is a really dumb explanation. You shouldn't have to go to the Bible for an explanation for a poorly-chosen title. Stop defending bad writing.
@@andyb6400 i don't think it's bad writing. spies used to refer to scouting, even in the bible. it's just that in recent years the association has shifted
Yep. There were 12 of those, and there were exactly 12 Mandalorians who accompanied Bo-Katan down to the planet.
One of the Spies might be Jack Black, and likely the guy who placed a tracking device on the Razor Crest.

oh my god....was it just me or did that music that played when grog was shielding Bo and Din from the fire sound (16:19) eerily similar to the music that plays in the Prince of Egypt when Moses splits the Red Sea? it might just be because both pieces are orchestral but....those first few powerful notes gave me serious flashbacks.

To then go back and rebuild the darksaber would be a *HUGE MISTAKE!*
Din Grogu is now canonically on track to become the new Tarre Vizsla.
LOL
I really thought we might hear Grogu talk at the end!
nah Filoni said thats not planned yet so probably wont happen until the movie or season 5 (cause season 4 is done in writing already) but yeah, i was kinda expecting it as well :D
I had to rewind like 3 times before I was convinced he hadn't said "bad" when Din said they wouldn't be safe until Gideon was gone. Turned out he just babbled and said something like "baaa"
He is clearly trying to speak and is working towards it. In an earlier episode, Din and, I believe, the armorer, said "This is the way" and Grogu tried his best to say it as well.
@@snerdterguson i honestly thought he said 'dad' or something very similar when getting Dins attention when pointing to the IG droid head in the bar

For me, a truly cool moment that got trimmed in this reaction and is easy to miss was in the forge lighting Ragnar was standing next to Ax Woves.

@10:22 - 10:30, never thought I'd see the day that Eric got excited to see the Darksaber ignited and comment "That's soooo cool!"

“Stay motivated R-5”
I understood that reference
This one has a bad motivator! What are you tryna push on us?
One touch I love about Gideon's armour, is that when he walks, the sound is almost identical to the imperial alarm sound
Also started crying and thinking of Kanan. Incredible
'the spies' appears to have been a reference to the 12 spies sent into Canaan to see how safe the land was... or something like that
So can we put to rest the INSANE theory that the armorer was a spy?
It was hardly an “insane” theory, just an unlikely one.
I was so relieved when I heard that "Lady Kreeze, your reenforcements have arrived!". That theory, as well as all those "rumours" Din would die really f.ed me up while watching. I was holding my hands to my face during that whole fight with Gideon. :D
I'm so glad she proved her heart is true , I had faith, but I would have been so bummed if she was the spy.
I'm amazed at the number of people who jumped on that theory right off the bat.
It was a red herring. They obviously wanted the audience to at least think about it.
I was really hoping Gideon would walk out from that fireball, adjust his suit, turn to face the camera to reveal that half of his face was missing, and then drop dead. 😂
He was really giving me Gus Fring vibes in the previous episode when he was talking to the other Imperial officers. It was like they were the cartel bosses that he was secretly plotting against, and I loved it.
Beskar could be worked because of the special properties from the water from the mines of Mandalore. This is how the Armorer was able to tell Din went to there because it reacted properly. So... does that mean the special ingredient to beskar armor is mythosaur piss?
... probably?
Mythpiss is that secret sauce
😂😂😂😂
There's something oddly comforting about hearing The Armorer say "Lady Krieze."
Btw that was Koska not Bo 😁
my face hurt this entire episode: it was fixed with anxiety for the Mandalorians and Grogu, it was fixed with anger at the Imperials and their actions, and it was fixed with a smile at how satisfying the last ten minutes of the episode was. this was a fitting end.
Rest in peace Darksaber, you were a historical weapon for them and for us, the eras change but we will always remember you, who knows, maybe one day a force user and Mandalorian will come out again and a similar one can be created, This is the way
I'm still wondering how it got crushed so easily? Didn't Djarin say the hilt was beskar?
@Andy B So is the Dark Trooper suit Gideon has, and based on the fist fight he was having with Djarin, he either had a lot of Beskar in that suit or there was more than just Beskar
@Here's Jonny right but how did he destroy the hilt? Is he super strong?
@@andyb6400 His suit isn't just Beskar, it's a power suit akin to something like Iron Man.

I can't believe they stuck Lateef Crowder in a Mando suit and said, "Let it rip, spinning man."
Anyone else notice that in the S2 finale a Mandalorian fought Gideon with a spear whilst Gideon used the darksaber. Now its a Mandalorian who uses the darksaber and Gideon with a spear-like weapon.
Love that Skinny Pete is in the Mandalorian, didn't notice it the last episode.
Something about seeing the Armorer drop out of the guantlet was so fire.

Omnimedia figured out what the title of the last episode meant with the help of a commenter
"The Spies" title is referring to the Mandalorians who were "spying ahead" to make sure Mandalore is safe to inhabit .
