Huyang is about 25 000 years old, meaning Eric was right about the "I havent seen anything close to this in 500 years" However there has been similar things earlier.
@TobiasThomasKoberr Huyang made a really good point. Sabine is now the rightful owner of his old lightsaber because of the modifications she’s made to it. Ezra has prob built his own lightsaber since the events of Rebels finale
The only thing that makes me sad is knowing that CG Zeb is probably far too expensive to have as big a part in the story as Hera/Sabine etc. Also RIP Ray Stevenson, he brought class & gravitas to every role.
I love how Baylen and Shin are the antithesis of Ahsoka. They are not Sith but dark side users. Just like Ahsoka is a light side user but not a Jedi. These two characters are quite intriguing and I can't wait to learn more about them.
@@mish375 My theory is C'Baoth is divided up into 2 characters for this continuity. Morgan and Baylan is supposed to embody C'Baoth. Morgan is the more physical prowess of C'Baoth(her being a Nightsister defintely checks that box), while Baylan embodies C'Baoth's psyche, like how he has an apprentice, and he feels that its wasteful to kill Jedi as there's so few left. Insinuating that he wants to take Ahsoka as an apprentice.
@@MM-vs2et I'm getting the sense they could do it either way. Either they embody C'Baoth or it's C'Baoth communicating with Morgan from the other galaxy. He was able to do things like that in the EU.
Did you guys notice that Jai Kell was the one who spoke at the ceremony instead of Sabine? The kid Ezra met at the imperial academy and also fought at the battle of Lothal.
I find it interesting how scared Shin was at Ahsoka arriving at the end. Like she is fully aware how outclassed she would be if she actually fought Ahsoka.
And also I don't know if you noticed or not but just don't work that she had when she was fighting this again it's like she's unhinged but like barely keeping it together. I have a feeling we are going to see her completely snap sometime this season.
To be honest if they know about Anakin they definitely know about Ashoka, the 501st was sent to countless battles during the clone wars which made them famous and obviously people would know about the master and Padawan that lead that army.
At this point she is a veteran of countless battles ( both on the winning and thr losing side ) she fought Griveous, Ventress, an army of legit Mandalorians, fought Darth Vader in his prime, she was on pair against Darth Maul and in fact captured him at the end. Also took out that inquisitor without a lightsaber like he was nothing. This girl has zero chance against her and she is smart enough to know that.
Also in her fight with Sabine I get a more curious / interested vibe. She kinda like that opportunity to duel with some other apprentice. Looks like she played with Sabine and not outright kill her too.
Kevin Kiner is an INCREDIBLE songwriter. He managed to work in not only Ahsoka's theme, but Sabine's, Hera's, AND Ezra's themes all in just the first episode.
I love the fact you can see Sabine using Form 1 lightsaber forms for a lot of her defensive and offensive moves which would make sense with Form 1 being the base/beginner form.
Not only that, but it is also a way of indicating the reveal of not being force-sensitive. Many of the other traditional forms require some degree of force-sensitivity to use effectively. Vapaad utilizing the dark side, ataru with the force-enhanced agility, et cetera.
@@ItApproachesdid you watch Rebels and Clone Wars with your eyes closed or something???? The plot has saved the crew from deadly incidents since season 1…. Actually it’s a running joke by the fans…. 25:11 Jai Kell wasn't looking for his sister. That was Zare Leonis, another fellow cadet at the academy. In season 1, Ezra, Jai and Zare all escape together, but Zare decides to go back to look for his sister. Jai returns in season 4. He is a part of Ryder's Resistance group on Lothal, and he helps Ezra and co. with the TIE Defender stuff and later the liberation of Lothal. He is in quite a few of episodes in season 4, while only appearing in a single episode in season 1. I was very happy to see him return here, along with Ryder.
For me Ahsoka did a great job at introducing new fans to the rebels aspect with Sabine, Herra, Chopper and explaining what happened with Ezra. But like most of us here, we all knew what was happening going in, and it was still refreshing to see how good the adaptations from animation to live action were. Rosario has fully come into her own as a mature, still stubborn, powerful version of Ahsoka that is the clear lead in this. Loved the tie in with the sisters of Dathomir and Morgan Elsbeth, but the biggest impression for me was Ray Stevenson as Baylan, a former Jedi who has a sense of proudness in him. Not just bad to be bad.
i couldnt disagree more. the most interesting characters are the villains here, the protagnists here are anywhere between boring and straight up annoying. the writing isnt good tho its very cheap, full of cheap plot armors and unenergetic intentions on almost everything.
It did a horrible job of introducing new fans to these characters. I never finnished Clone wars and did see a single episode of rebels. I don't know who these people are and what are their relationships
37:35 Only Anakin's memory of seeing the future was wiped. Ahsoka recognised 'Morai' in the world between worlds, Sidious recognised a depiction of "the Mortis gods" from them being mentioned in the Jedi archives, and (if I recall correctly) Anakin and Yoda reference Mortis during one of their conversations in Season 6's Yoda arc.
4:52 Me too, Eric! Ashoka’s theme is the theme that gives me the most chills in Star Wars. Look up the compilation of it’s evolution throughout the years, it’s so iconic
Not to mention the style of font in the end credits. I wonder if we are introduced to any new cultures in the unknown regions they have a heavy Norse vibe, a very interesting and new mix with the established western/samurai vibes of the franchise
IIRC, one of those wolves is chasing the moon, the other is chasing the sun and they will eventually catch them when Ragnarök comes. Wonder if that will have any significance.
@@shadowcat1606 I think the most obvious translation of that is Baylan and Shin as the wolves. With “Ragnarok” being a result of the discovery of knowledge and whatever power may come of that from the world between worlds. Sun and moon could represent Baylan and Shins ultimate separation in destiny, maybe representing light and dark or just a difference of perspective. Who knows. I also am curious if there’s any connection to Kanan, with Shin having a saber very similar to his, and the Lolth wolves becoming a physical representation of his spirit in death.
I disagree. The opening crawl was always and will always be a cheap and bad exposition dump. I hate it in the movies, I hate it here. Just show me what is written there like in LotR. Apart from that I'm positively surprised by the series start.
@@iTelixI get what you mean. I do also prefer being shown, not told. Still, what the original commenter means is that the fact that this is the only show with an opening crawl proves to what extent filoni is willing to honor the original star wars media. Opening crawls are cheap exposition dumps, no doubt, but as someone else said, they're also one of star wars' trademarks
Minor spoilers for Ep.2 in the following comment - - - I can´t quite remember, but did the Yoda arc deal with Darth Sion? I have that name in my head, but can´t tell from where. Because in ep.2 they mention the "Eye of Sion", some kind of structure/gate as their way to the other galaxy. Could the two be connected somehow?
Yes, but just like in real life with the F-22 and F-35's, they still produced advanced versions of the last generation fighter (X-Wing being like the F-15 models A,C and now X) because it's more economical, doesn't have to integrate the most advanced still buggy tech and can be sold to a wider number of worlds (countries).
@@kenle2 Wel in Star Wars things have been flying so long that there arent mayor breakthroughts in fighter generations like the diference between an F-15 and a F-22 .. It would be like if the X-Wing was a F-16 and the E-Wing more like an Eurofighter .. its better but the F-16 can still kick its ass and newer versions with more advanced avionics and sensors would close the gap (like what happent , newer versions of the X-Wing were more than a match for the E-Wing wich also had a lot of trouble in early models
How many others feel that when Ashoka says “Even the right reasons have the wrong consequences” she is thinking about how if she hadn’t left Anakin and the Order that maybe Anakin hadn’t become Vader and the Empire may never have been. I can imagine she feels at least some responsibility for what happened since the events of “Twilight of the Apprentice”
I love the puzzle scenes at the beginning. My wife and I made jokes that they were making a callback to Fallen order and Survivor by making Ahsoka solve a puzzle before entering a crypt
48:36 honestly I had the exact same reaction, it was really awesome to see her name because I remember the train heist from the Book of Boba being the best episode, by far, it felt like a Lawrence of Arabia sort of homage with these Sand-People destroying a train that was going across their land. It actually explored the stuff I'd want to see from the concept, and good setpieces.
Every massive Star Wars fan notices Ryder but the always overlooked detail that the senator is Jai Kell or that the Lothal pilots go by the "Spectre" call sign are the small interconnected details I love that they put in.
Glad to hear you guys mentioning the Yuuzhan Vong and the Chiss Ascendancy as the extra-galactic things from Legends thay they may be pulling some concepts from with this particular pathway. I assume that they'll make nods to them like they did with the Ysalamiri motif Thrawn has in Rebels, especially since the "absent from the Force" isn't really a thing in canon. Seeing everyone and hearing all the musical leitmotifs were done really well, but the shots where it just lingers on droids standing to nake something intimidating worked SO well.
When they mentioned the other galaxy Thrawn is in, I thought that would be a perfect segue into the War in the Unknown Regions plotline. I think and hope Ezra is in the Chiss Ascendancy. Edit: Ysalamiri have been updated to just have force dampening effects now. I could see Thrawn collecting the space geckos in response to Ezra's stunt at the end ot Rebels.
Too be fair, they didn’t seem like they were looking to kill her, which is really interesting. They seemed to ONLY want the map and only tried restraining her without actually harming her at all
I think that was just because the fight was in close quarters. It makes much more sense for a stronger, metal opponent to grapple than have a blaster fight at 5 feet away.
I had the same thought about the bombs at the beginning reminding me of the bombs from the Clone Wars episode that destroy anything organic. I haven't heard anyone else bring that up yet and literally said "thank you" when you did.
Excellent reaction, SW: Wave Squadron Brothers. No one reacts to Star Wars quite like Eric, Rick, Calvin, and Aaron do. I thoroughly enjoyed ALL OF IT. We have a new (and long-standing) hope in Master Obi-Dave Filoni. And, this is just the beginning... May The Force Be With You.
@@neutchain7838 True 🤣But at the same time, Qui-Gon was laying there unattended with that wound for minutes while Obi-Wan had to wait for the ray shields and then Obi-Wan also had to wait many more minutes for the best opportunity to jump up and kill Maul. It was probably a solid 10-15 minutes with no pressure on the wound, no Bacta spray, no medical droid, etc. Ahsoka was probably able to fly Sabine straight to the city hospital in 5 minutes or less.
There was a lot of issues with that movie ( and dont get me wrong i like the prequels ) and ofc things had to happen for the plot but they did showcase in the same movie how fast they can run ( at the beginning on the Trade Federation command ship ) which is an ability nobody used ever again....ever... :) Only if Obi-Wan run through those ray shields like they did earlier...guess his ability was still on cooldown lol. Also Sabine was stabbed off center to the right whilst Qui-Gon took it in the middle so I guess that severed his spine. Its just weird at this point that everyone seems to survive in the Disney Era ( Reva got stabbed TWICE and was fine, the GI survived as well ). I really miss those times when Lightsabers were cutting limbs off as they should.
@@neutchain7838true but if you rewatch you see that he wasn't stabbed in the stomach but the dead center of his torso. Sabine was stabbed off to the side of here abdominal area. Plenty matters.
@neutchain7838 getting stabbed in the middle of your torso/spine by a sith is far different that being stabbed on the side by a novice. Location matters, like a gunshot.
Ray getting to play sych an incredible bad-ass in his final role may be the best tribute to him possible. His "stroll" through the prison barge was right up there with Vader's stroll down the hallway of the starship in "Rogue One".
I love that Jai Kell made an appearance too. He was one of the cadets that escaped the Imperial compound with Ezra in season 1. He also came back in season 4 with Ryder and the other Lothal rebels. He's also voiced by Dante Basco!
I wish she'd put on her Mandalorian chest armor and jetpack to get down from the tower, then released the jetpack to start the fight. That would have allowed Shin to show her dominance over Sabine but believably allowed Sabine to live as the chest armor deflected the blow. It's becoming a tired Star Wars trope of people getting stabbed with lightsabers but only those with plot armor survive. Still love the start. Looking forward to see where Dave takes the story.
One thing I loved about these episodes was how Filoni and Green used silence to build the mood. When his Clone wars first aired, a lot of ppl accused Filoni of over relying on dialogue, unlike Genndy. It was genuinely great seeing Filoni take that criticism to heart and use silence to build the mood.
Kind of fan service, possibly - I liked how when Ahsoka is getting the map in the beginning, she needs to solve a puzzle by lining things up just right... such as when you play "Jedi: Fallen Order" or such.
You were close but the ships that chase Sabine are E-Wings, which come from Legends and were supposed to eventually replace the X-Wing as the main fighter for the New Repblic Navy
Let’s put this into perspective here: The veterans of the 501st served alongside Ahsoka and Anakin for years. She was 14 when she first became Anakin’s Padawan and was 17 by this moment. Those clone troopers that she had to bury were her actual family. They were saddened upon hearing about her ousting of the Jedi Order and were happy that she was returning. They willingly painted their helmets in honor of her. They were family, and in the end, her entire family died. Her master became something sinister, the clone troopers that were part of the 332nd Company were all killed in the crash (besides Rex), and she was still a child that entire time. Ik it’s a fictional universe and an animated show, but the directors truly made Ahsoka a fan-favorite character and ended this show in a fantastic and depressing way We knew the Clone Wars could never have a happy ending, but this takes the cake. The lightsaber, the helmets, the wrecked Venator, all symbols of the heroes who fought so hard for something that amounted to naught. The end of the Republic and the rise of the Empire is so........... so quiet. I like the touch they added of having Vader hold onto Ahsoka's lightsaber. No matter how hard he tries to pretend that Anakin Skywalker is dead, there's always that little part of him that can't let go. This particular scene is enough to put me in tears, They are just CGI and not real; but if you grew up watching this show from when it all began you grow to love the clone troopers. This show demonstrates that they were not just blind loyal troopers but rather human beings who shared emotions like all of us, and in my opinion, that's what makes clone troopers my favorite sci-fi fighting force. What an amazing show. We all knew Order 66 was coming but suspense and tension were still high Vader had no intention of visiting that wreck. Picking up the lightsaber, igniting it, to then look up and gaze. But Anakin, oh Anakin did. The clones didn’t die for the republic. They died with it Again the proof that sometimes no dialogue is the best dialogue. The silence of Vader's thoughts, the hidden face, and no expression, intentional or not, really leaves a great impression on the viewer that they can imagine how Vader must feel inside, however, they wish to imagine it - whether he is in hidden turmoil if he is really absorbed by the dark side and hatred, or if he has just become emotionless. This was Ahsoka saying a final goodbye to her comrades, Anakin saying goodbye to Ahsoka, Vader saying goodbye to Anakin and us saying goodbye to the Clone Wars. This is a true ending for all. A farewell to the fallen. It's been 2 years since the release of the last episode of the Clone Wars season 7, yet the ending still haunts me to this day. Thank you The Clone Wars for the memory. Seeing Vader hold Ashoka’s blue saber is so chilling. It feels like a combination of knowing he failed her, just like he failed himself. And that blue represents a past part of him that won’t be seen for years to come. In all honesty, The Clone Wars' final season makes Revenge of the Sith even more emotional to sit through. I used to think Vader at the end of Rogue One was the best scene in Star Wars, but this ending really won't leave my mind after I saw it. How we knew so much of the story built up to this over years of watching the prequel stories unfold, and how far the Master and the Padawan had come along in their journeys and character development - this was literally the perfect ending to the best execution of Star Wars content I've ever seen. Jesse's helmet here illustrates the end of an era. His helmet carries the republic symbol, and now it marks a grave. This is where the republic ends. The three final scenes of the Clone Wars that will stick with me: Ahsoka walks away from the Jedi Temple as Anakin watches on. Yoda leaves the darkness of Korriban behind and returns home to ponder on the future. A clone helmet, stuck in the snow, with the visor showing the reflected visage of Darth Vader wandering away into the fog. I feel that the ending arc of Season Five all the way to the finale of Season Seven shows the true end of the Clone Wars. Season Five portrays the beginning of the Jedi's fall as true evil begins to emerge. Season Six shows the heroes seeing the shadow of the phantom menace loom over them. And in Season Seven, the Dark Times finally arrive. Everyone’s gone… Padme, mace windu, dooku, grievous, plo koon, all of them. All of those beloved characters fleshed out in the series are gone in a matter of days…The heaviness Ahsoka has to carry within herself must be overwhelming, she lost her home with the Jedi, she lost the clones who would've given their lives for her, and with the flick of a switch not rest until she was dead, and did even though it's not her fault, feels she is the cause of all their deaths, she lost her master and brother and only later discover by just how much. If it wasn't for her training I'm pretty sure she would've been 200% emotionally crippled by the end of all this I love this scene because you can tell everything that’s going on without a single line being spoken. You would think that Rex would be the last one standing over the clones' bodies but it’s Ashoka. She feels responsible for their lives being taken just like the first time she led a space battle and got half of her squad killed. The only difference is this time it isn’t her fault but she feels that it is, enough to dig through the wreckage to give them proper burials. The last scene represented the series so well, a Clonetrooper helmet with Ahsoka decoration and Anakin, now Vader in the visor reflection. The main 3 components of this series are all together for a final shot.
I've been looking forward to these reactions almost as much as I've been looking forward to the show itself. 9:48 Me, too, Eric; from whatever trailer or TV spot it was shown in, that's the thing that got me most excited about seeing Lothal. 🙂Seeing Ryder was a great semi-surprise.
I know there's probably a lore reason as to why their (the two dark jedi) sabers are not fully red and are more orange. But I like to think that they bled their crystals and because they are not total darkside, they are slightly orange. Vader was just so angry that he made it red out of sheer will. 😅
I love the score in this series, so far. That and the visuals, you can really tell Dave’s design sense from his animation background enhance the live action parts of Star Wars.
A little late here but great to see you guys all back together again. The Mando S3 reactions didn’t hit the same without the whole crew! And composer Kevin Kiner revealed a cool behind the scenes Easter Egg: He worked with Mando/BOBF composer Ludwig Gorranson on the punk rock song Sabine listens to on the speeder bike! As a former band geek in my (more) youthful days, stuff like that makes me so happy.
i loved the sabine vs shin hati fight it really feels like 2 young padawans fighting each other. Slow / heavy strikes with basic stance/techniques and saber locks to try and catch there breath and push each other down or away 🙏🏽
The fighters the pilots are in are E-Wings, the next generation fighter for the New Republic. Like the X-Wing, they were designed by Incom. They made their first appearances in HttE novels. We saw one for the first time in the Dark Empire comics.
nice that you immediately mention the pace, this was close to perfectly paced, especially compared to the latest SW stuff and, especially mando, which often has pacing problems.
Agreed. I absolutely loved the pacing for the first two episodes. To me, it felt like classic Star Wars. Of course they were action parked, but there were plenty of scenes where characters were just walking and talking, even some moments where there wasn't any talking at all. Absolutely perfect for me.
So my dad and I have made it tradition to watch all the shows/movies coming out now since mandalorian. His opinion is that this was the first one to truly feel like the Star Wars that he grew up on. He liked mando for the spaghetti western aspect, but this one took him back, it was a great moment for his childhood of 4/5/6 and my 1/2/3/clone wars. We’re all in for this show!
LETS KRIFFING GO!!!!!!! Kyle and Bendu are one of the best Star Wars yotubers to rely on for a new show, so is Blind Wave and so many others. The two episode premiere is everything I've ever wanted for a Rebels S5, and its peak tv from those two episodes alone. WHOOO!!!!!! The Loth Cat being practical made me want to get merch of them. Been a hot minute since seeing Blind Wave, but all is godly as the two episodes left me processing it all.
24:20 Since I‘m from Germany, I don‘t have a Problem with the recast because in the German dub the characters still have the same voice actors as in Rebels.
16:53 Considering that the blaster she first shot the droid with was hanging on to its back, where did that second blaster come from? The droid walking away still has one on its back.
When Ryder Azadi started talking I went "He sounds exactly like the cartoon version! He's doing a great impression!" only to later find out that it's Clancy Brown, who voiced him in the cartoon, playing him in live action. That was just too cool :D
I loved the slower pace here. Its, for me, the difference in protagonists. Ahsoka is measured, calm and a mix of jedi trained and ronin. I think the pace reflects the character. I loved some of the nods to the EU - the E-Wing fighter was the big one here. It doesnt do fan service for the sake of it. Its just there. In the EU, Corran Horn was a XWing pilot who was force sensitive. In his story, he doesnt have traditional force powers, but he is force sensitive none the less. I love this for sabine. No telekinesis, or obvious force powers, but theres enough there that can be trained. Also EU wise, the galaxy was locked from leaving or things getting in until the Yuuzhan Vong arrive. Its very interesting to see how the expansion into a wider universe will change the star wars universe.
The epilogue scene from rebels is actually taking place during the ahsoka show. Just with some little differences. Sabine has long hair when ahsoka arrives instead of short, she doesn’t have her armor on and ahsoka doesn’t have the white cloak and staff.
@@ryguy1133 they did all the scenes though. Ahsoka arriving matches perfectly with how the ship arrived in the rebels finale except for Sabine with long hair and not in her suit. And than everything else is the same except for ahsoka without her cloak and staff. Why do another scene that’s almost identical to the one they did in Rebels if it’s not the same?
@@donpula6349 I’m talking about when ahsoka first shows up in epilogue. When the ship first goes over Ezra’s building sabine already has short hair and is already in her armor. Whereas in the show she had long hair and was dressed differently. Either way losing the white cloak and staff is a weird choice
Professor Huyang is only slightly older than 500 years, the ripe age of 25,000 years old. In fact Huyang was built a decade after the foundation of the Jedi Order.
As a first-timer to anything Rebels, this was a nice start. I'm enjoying the look of the characters, I like seeing Ahsoka in action, I like the tone of the show and I'm digging the music. The story is going to be an intriguing one, for sure. I'm really interested in seeing how this series, possibly, sets up the Dave Filoni Mandoverse movie. Also, Godspeed, Ray Stevenson. May the Force be with him and his family.
I believe you can see Sabine showing not the typical telekinesis used of the force but she shows instances of incredible intuition about things that she really shouldn't need able to know such as when she knew that kanan and rau were going to ask her to let her people with the darksaber. It's also particularly interesting because when she reluctant grabs the darksaber from kanan the force theme quietly begins playing and as her decision becomes more firm the volume of the force theme gets louder until she finally accepts it and it swells and then transitions into her theme.
Actually at 14:08 the little droid looks almost exactly like an interrogation droid pet you could use to pick up from dark side vendor in the SWTOR game.
with sabine being a "jedi" she might just be being trained in the combat of them like grievous was. "You fool! I've been trained in your jedi arts! By Count Dooku!!" could be something along those lines with sabine
Excellent start to the series, audiovisually great in cgi, designs and above all in Kevin Kiner's soundtrack, with interesting new characters and the old ones maintain their charm and the pace is calm but entertaining, I think the only Star Wars series that has better start for me is Mandalorian in its season 1, which also directed Filoni, damn mad genius with a hat
It's not on par with Andor when it comes to pacing, acting, scene-setting, writing and direction. But I'm more than happy to have a live action Rebels Season 5.

I just ask for one thing: Live-action helicopter sabers. Just to cheer at Eric’s reaction 😂

That wasn't on my bingo card
Do we know what happened with Zare?
@@zakariyyaatariq2049there's a children's book series about it

Surprised Eric missed that.
I disagree on the Chopper front, 0 war crimes were committed, Hera was able to talk him out of the 1 he brought up. :D
i couldnt disagree more. the most interesting characters are the villains here, the protagnists here are anywhere between boring and straight up annoying. the writing isnt good tho its very cheap, full of cheap plot armors and unenergetic intentions on almost everything.
I got the impression *Sabine* _was_ listening to that music as she sped along the "freeway." 🤷🏼♂️
Yep. It's an 'in-universe' song
That IS the kind of music someone like Sabine would listen to.

I was in the middle of watching the actual episode and I actually paused it and pulled up this video just to see their reaction to that one part lmao.
There are two wolves inside you, both of them were written by Dave Filoni!
One is Wolffe, and the other is a dune wolf we found on Lothal
Filoni is a huge fanatic for wolves and wolf lore. Skoll and Hati are the children of Fenrir the Wolf in Norse mythology
Damn, I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't catch that.
Not to mention the style of font in the end credits. I wonder if we are introduced to any new cultures in the unknown regions they have a heavy Norse vibe, a very interesting and new mix with the established western/samurai vibes of the franchise
I went through a Norse mythology hyperfixation phase some years ago and I am mentally banging my head against a wall for not noticing this lmao
The fact that this show had an opening crawl just lets you know how much of a love letter to Star Wars this show will be.

Can we acknowledge how awesome Sabine is for going hand to hand with an assassin droid while unarmored and kicking its butt?
She did like 2 dark souls roles then beat the shit out of it and it was beautiful 😂
I love how Sabine was toyed with in the fight, adn then got stabbed by a lightsaber! Finally a character that will grow from screen trauma.
And Qui-Gon is like ffffuuuuuccckkk. Only if I got stabbed in the Disney Era.
All force users need a badass hallway scene now a days.
I love that Jai Kell made an appearance too. He was one of the cadets that escaped the Imperial compound with Ezra in season 1. He also came back in season 4 with Ryder and the other Lothal rebels. He's also voiced by Dante Basco!
Is anyone else laughing over the fact that Sabine has become the crazy Mandalorian cat-lady in the tower?
Bo Katan was almost there too. What becomes of a Mandalorian without a war, can be sad.
the mural was at SDCC and I just stood there and cried.
I wasn't expecting Clancy Brown to be in this!
8:02 that eerie chorus from Thrawn’s theme returns

One thing I loved about these episodes was how Filoni and Green used silence to build the mood. When his Clone wars first aired, a lot of ppl accused Filoni of over relying on dialogue, unlike Genndy. It was genuinely great seeing Filoni take that criticism to heart and use silence to build the mood.
"Snitch bot. Fuck." had me dying 😂 13:59
Kind of fan service, possibly - I liked how when Ahsoka is getting the map in the beginning, she needs to solve a puzzle by lining things up just right... such as when you play "Jedi: Fallen Order" or such.

I was already enjoying this premiere, but seeing Eric and the guys be so giddy made this even better
I first thought that “other galaxy” was Tanalorr. Probably because I just finished Jedi survivor.
I very much like the pacing. They actually take moments to just stand there, or have a slow conversation.
Yeah! It's awesome when nothing happens and characters just stand there looking at things! Great writing!
I liked the pace too. Going too fast you just end up with a transformers movie. Too slow and you get Andor.
I had a smile on my face for the whole 2 episodes. Amazing so far

Correction, The Hu song Sugaan Essana is not sung in Huttese, but rather a language created BY The Hu, inspired by Mongolian.
I like how Hera had to be told who the last Imperial Grand admiral was...almost as if she did not spend most of the whole Rebels series fighting him.
I know there's probably a lore reason as to why their (the two dark jedi) sabers are not fully red and are more orange.
But I like to think that they bled their crystals and because they are not total darkside, they are slightly orange.

nice that you immediately mention the pace, this was close to perfectly paced, especially compared to the latest SW stuff and, especially mando, which often has pacing problems.
Agreed. I absolutely loved the pacing for the first two episodes. To me, it felt like classic Star Wars. Of course they were action parked, but there were plenty of scenes where characters were just walking and talking, even some moments where there wasn't any talking at all. Absolutely perfect for me.

I’ve been checking every hour for your reaction and it’s popped up just in time for bed! Let’s go!
Don't care, dark apprentice is hot.
Savine having a premonitory dream seems to indicate some force sensitivity.
4:18 Similarities of both Baylan Skull and Eric. Same style beards, both tall and has a lightsaber.

I almost had tears in my eyes....
Beautiful!
I'm here for it all!!

The epilogue scene from rebels is actually taking place during the ahsoka show. Just with some little differences. Sabine has long hair when ahsoka arrives instead of short, she doesn’t have her armor on and ahsoka doesn’t have the white cloak and staff.
That hasnt actually happened yet, according to the ahsoka trailer 😅

I was so excited to see an E-Wing in live-action. They're a New Republic fighter introduced during Thrawn's Campaign in the old canon.
The ships seen on Lothal are E-Wings, introduced in the Dark Empire comics.
I was so damn surprised how slow it went, it was so damn good for the first episode
