Let’s put this into perspective here: The veterans of the 501st served alongside Ahsoka and Anakin for years. She was 14 when she first became Anakin’s Padawan and was 17 by this moment. Those clone troopers that she had to bury were her actual family. They were saddened upon hearing about her ousting of the Jedi Order and were happy that she was returning. They willingly painted their helmets in honor of her. They were family, and in the end, her entire family died. Her master became something sinister, the clone troopers that were part of the 332nd Company were all killed in the crash (besides Rex), and she was still a child that entire time. Ik it’s a fictional universe and an animated show, but the directors truly made Ahsoka a fan-favorite character and ended this show in a fantastic and depressing way We knew the Clone Wars could never have a happy ending, but this takes the cake. The lightsaber, the helmets, the wrecked Venator, all symbols of the heroes who fought so hard for something that amounted to naught. The end of the Republic and the rise of the Empire is so........... so quiet. I like the touch they added of having Vader hold onto Ahsoka's lightsaber. No matter how hard he tries to pretend that Anakin Skywalker is dead, there's always that little part of him that can't let go.
This particular scene is enough to put me in tears, They are just CGI and not real; but if you grew up watching this show from when it all began you grow to love the clone troopers. This show demonstrates that they were not just blind loyal troopers but rather human beings who shared emotions like all of us, and in my opinion, that's what makes clone troopers my favorite sci-fi fighting force. What an amazing show. We all knew Order 66 was coming but suspense and tension were still high Vader had no intention of visiting that wreck. Picking up the lightsaber, igniting it, to then look up and gaze. But Anakin, oh Anakin did. The clones didn’t die for the republic. They died with it Again the proof that sometimes no dialogue is the best dialogue. The silence of Vader's thoughts, the hidden face, and no expression, intentional or not, really leaves a great impression on the viewer that they can imagine how Vader must feel inside, however, they wish to imagine it - whether he is in hidden turmoil if he is really absorbed by the dark side and hatred, or if he has just become emotionless.
This was Ahsoka saying a final goodbye to her comrades, Anakin saying goodbye to Ahsoka, Vader saying goodbye to Anakin and us saying goodbye to the Clone Wars. This is a true ending for all. A farewell to the fallen. It's been 2 years since the release of the last episode of the Clone Wars season 7, yet the ending still haunts me to this day. Thank you The Clone Wars for the memory. Seeing Vader hold Ashoka’s blue saber is so chilling. It feels like a combination of knowing he failed her, just like he failed himself. And that blue represents a past part of him that won’t be seen for years to come. In all honesty, The Clone Wars' final season makes Revenge of the Sith even more emotional to sit through. I used to think Vader at the end of Rogue One was the best scene in Star Wars, but this ending really won't leave my mind after I saw it. How we knew so much of the story built up to this over years of watching the prequel stories unfold, and how far the Master and the Padawan had come along in their journeys and character development - this was literally the perfect ending to the best execution of Star Wars content I've ever seen. Jesse's helmet here illustrates the end of an era. His helmet carries the republic symbol, and now it marks a grave. This is where the republic ends. The three final scenes of the Clone Wars that will stick with me: Ahsoka walks away from the Jedi Temple as Anakin watches on. Yoda leaves the darkness of Korriban behind and returns home to ponder on the future. A clone helmet, stuck in the snow, with the visor showing the reflected visage of Darth Vader wandering away into the fog. I feel that the ending arc of Season Five all the way to the finale of Season Seven shows the true end of the Clone Wars. Season Five portrays the beginning of the Jedi's fall as true evil begins to emerge. Season Six shows the heroes seeing the shadow of the phantom menace loom over them. And in Season Seven, the Dark Times finally arrive. Everyone’s gone… Padme, mace windu, dooku, grievous, plo koon, all of them. All of those beloved characters fleshed out in the series are gone in a matter of days…The heaviness Ahsoka has to carry within herself must be overwhelming, she lost her home with the Jedi, she lost the clones who would've given their lives for her, and with the flick of a switch not rest until she was dead, and did even though it's not her fault, feels she is the cause of all their deaths, she lost her master and brother and only later discover by just how much. If it wasn't for her training I'm pretty sure she would've been 200% emotionally crippled by the end of all this I love this scene because you can tell everything that’s going on without a single line being spoken. You would think that Rex would be the last one standing over the clones' bodies but it’s Ashoka. She feels responsible for their lives being taken just like the first time she led a space battle and got half of her squad killed. The only difference is this time it isn’t her fault but she feels that it is, enough to dig through the wreckage to give them proper burials. The last scene represented the series so well, a Clonetrooper helmet with Ahsoka decoration and Anakin, now Vader in the visor reflection. The main 3 components of this series are all together for a final shot.

      @AlasdairGR 11 месяцев назад +5

@@Brainth_1780 I don't think it's necessarily about it being hard to perform the jump. Hyperspace rings are always used for craft with either no hyperdrive or for ones with smaller, less capable drives. I think there are that many hyperdrives on Morgan's ring so they can get to the other galaxy *more quickly* and to also bring something big back with it. Hyperspace travel is not instantaneous. Long distance jumps (such as from the Core to the Outer Rim) could potentially still take days, even with a powerful hyperdrive. Especially when the ship is very large. I think Morgan wants to get to the galaxy quickly and have the capability to bring back a certain Star Destroyer along with Thrawn.

Every being in the sw universe has the force flowing through them/it. It's just the amount of midiclorians that allow some to sense it and wield it more than others. I'm sure Sabine's midiclorian count is very low. Higher than most average beings, but lower than any Jedi. But, through training and discipline, she can learn to wield it somewhat. Not on the level of a Jedi, but enough to feel the movements of a lightsaber and be proficient with one and possibly have slight intuitions to feel things before they happen(think of it like a Spidey-sense).

The show looked like a low budget fan film. Book of Boba and Mando Season 3 were very mid. This is definitely the best live-action content since Mando Season 2 imo. Andor was fine as well, but I still have no care in the Galaxy for those characters. Either way, Dave Filoni should be put in charge going forward, and he should do Seasons 2 of Kenobi and Book of Boba Fett. Those characters deserve so much better.

I feel like in episode 3 we need a quick throwaway line that explains why Ashoka isn’t calling Luke for help. Every time something goes wrong the audience is going to be asking “why not call the strongest Jedi in the galaxy? I’m sure he would be interested in stopping another war!” I mean this is kind of big stakes to not have Luke be involved. I don’t even think Luke should be in this season, he can be saved for later seasons and the films that will show the climax of the Thrawn story, however just a quick “he’s busy” or “I’m in contact with him but he is on the other side of the galaxy currently” would dispel Luke’s noticeable a sense from these important events.

I don't think we're there in the timeline yet. Like, we're now pre-Book of Boba Fett (or at the same time but before episode 6) and then we'll eventually get to that and season 3 of Mandalorian. Ahsoka in this show is more similar to how she was in episode 5 of the second season of Mandalorian. In Book of Boba Fett when we see her with Luke she seems more happy, more optimistic. Like she's taken a burden off her shoulders. She mentions Anakin to Luke complimenting him for being like him ("So much like your father") with a smile on her face. Here, when she mentions Anakin in the first episode while talking to Hera she's demeanor is completely different. There is still guilt and pain.

@@theunknownuser9609 I would have to disagree with this, we see Ashoka in season 2 of Mando hunting Morgan and mentioning Thrawn, we know she tells Mando to have Grogu reach out to find a teacher and in season 2s finale Luke answers that call. When then get an unknown amount of time passing where Grogu is with Luke, months I guess, and Ashoka is with Luke. At the start of this show Morgan is in jail so her encounter with Ashoka has already happened as has Luke and Ashoka being together watching Grogu train. This show is clearly taking place after the Bobba Fett show. I seriously doubt the entire Thrawn arc that this show and the planned films is depicting took place between Ashoka capturing Morgan and Ashoka being at Luke’s future school.

There is no evidence that this show is taking place before we see Ashoka and Luke. The show is about the return of Thrawn which is a HUGE event and will almost certainly mean a war, we would’ve heard about an Imperial Grand Admiral returning and starting a war during Mando season 3 if that was the case. Also even if for some reason those chose to do it that way, Luke is a known quantity in the New Republic, he was a General in Return of the Jedi, he defeated Vader, he’s famous so my point still stands…. Why wouldn’t Ahsoka, the New Republic, Hera or Mon Mothma call upon the strongest Jedi in the galaxy during the events of this show, whenever in the timeline it takes place. Every time a major event took place in an MCU film, the first question was always “why don’t we call the avengers?”…. This is the SW version of that

Also canon Luke is much more interested in rebuilding the Jedi Order and finding old Jedi relics and visiting temples than whatever is going on in the galaxy. Leia is the one who cares about that. The last time he was remotely seen was when Ben was born and after that he just dissapeared in the eyes of the galaxy. He was more myth than person. I absolutely loved these first two episodes! I felt like everything about them were beyond amazing! I am already so gripped and interested in the story and really invested in the characters. I thought that the writing was fantastic, the acting was amazing, and the tone was perfect. And I feel like I can’t say enough just how incredible the music for these episodes were, I’m so glad that they brought Kevin Kiner back to do this shows score. I also thought that all the setting and different locations for both of these episodes looked amazing and really beautiful, especially Lothal, which was awesome to get to finally see in live action. It felt like everything in these two episodes were able to all perfectly came together to make this feel like such an impactful and engaging start to a story. They were truly able to make this feel like a live action sequel to Star Wars Rebels. Speaking of Rebels, it was so amazing to see characters like Sabine, Hera and Jai Kell make their live action debut from that show. And it was even cooler to see Ryder Azadi being played by Clancy Brown, who of course voiced him back in Rebels. And seeing Huyang come into live action after his first appearance all the way back from Clone Wars was also amazing. Especially since David Tennant came back to voice him again. And of course, it was great to get to see Chopper again, it felt like he was plucked right out of Rebels and I loved how they made it so we could vaguely make out what he was saying. And from just these first two episodes I am already super invested in Baylan. I think that his character as a former Jedi who has gone a little dark is a great parallel to Ahsoka. Especially since it seems that he still carries some of the ideals of a Jedi and that he genuinely doesn’t want to have to kill Ahsoka. I just think that he is already a very interesting character that I hope they get into more. And I feel like I just cannot say enough just how great all the performances were in these episode. Each actor was giving a fantastic performance and I felt like they were all doing an amazing job. I think that Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ray Stevenson were all doing amazing jobs for these characters and have completely sold me on their performances for these characters. They all felt like they were fully dedicate and invested to their character and their role. I am very curious to see how the ending of this episode will lead into next week’s episode and how it will impact the future of this show and it’s continuing story. I think that from just these first two episodes alone, it has already shown what a great show this will turn out to be. And I am already loving everything about this show and I can’t wait to see where this story and all the characters involved will go next. I cannot wait for next week’s episode.
    Rest in Peace Ray Stevenson

i'd say it's more like a catapult, using SSD hyperdrives to catapult something smaller "savely" at way more speed across farther distances, kinda like voyager and the "caretaker"
also that giant ring looks almost exactly like an X4 Jumpgate (X4 the space sandbox game btw)

Everyone was worried they were gonna make Sabine force sensitive but we al should have had faith in Filoni. She never was force sensitive just really skilled in combat as a Mandalorian. But also in canon all living things are connected to the force, it just depends on how much connected. Jedi have a higher connection than others but all beings can use the force with training.

"An Empire doesn't just become a Republic overnight"
Ironic considering it happened in reverse quite literally.

This was a remake of the epilogue. We see the dedication of that moment in episode 1v which would indicates they just moved it there from the cave. Not in both you can see it was cut out of the cave. As for Ahsoka's cloak that is almost certainly meant to tie to Gandalf which filoni has referenced Ahsoka's journey to be like his. So at this point she is currently ahsoka the grey who will grow from her adventure to become Ahsoka the white

As a first-timer to anything Rebels, this was a nice start.
I'm enjoying the look of the characters, I like seeing Ahsoka in action, I like the tone of the show and I'm digging the music.
The story is going to be an intriguing one, for sure. I'm really interested in seeing how this series, possibly, sets up the Dave Filoni Mandoverse movie.
Also, Godspeed, Ray Stevenson. May the Force be with him and his family.

Double bladed lightsabers sure look cool but, like Lord Kas'im said in the book "Darth Bane - Path of Destruction", they are dangerous because they are exotic, but the wielder can still only attack with one blade at a time and while one blade attacks, the other is out of the way.

Double bladed sabers are mainly good for when being attacked by multiple enemies surrounding you, you can attack and defend against enemies behind you a lot quicker.

The same applies double for the Inquisitors’ spinning sabers. They were designed to overwhelm and intimidate less skilled survivors of Order 66. This made them effective but flawed as any Jedi with honed skill could exploit their weaknesses, Kanan and Cal are great examples. That being said any skilled Jedi probably weren’t hunted just by Inquisitors, Vader was there to clean house

I really hope when we inevitably get to Peridea, that that whole other galaxy is weird. Like, everything seems wrong because its so far removed from what we know. And the discussion of space-borne creatures reminded me about Starweirds and now I really want to see them in live action

I feel like I'm the only person in this comment section who has said this, but I recognize that guy at 6:48. I was not expecting the guy who played Taub from House M.D. to be in this show~ Its a welcomed surprise though!~
