if modded Empire At War taught me anything, a bunch of TIE interceptors and bombers can't even dream to take on an Arquintens flanked by 4 Gozanti cruisers (which are anti-small-craft screeners) plus the mando fleet has fighters and multiple Gauntlets themselves.
@@Seriona1 in waiting probably, but big ships moving would alert the new republic, keep in mind that one Arquintens is about 1/25 the size of an ISD, and the entire line of TIE's except for TIE-Defenders, are not capable of lightspeed, so you would need a carrier. (and AFAIK TIE-Defenders were only created for Empire At War so the imperial side would have some late game fighter squad that can actually be produced and be sent around on the galactic-warfare-map, normal TIE's just spawn from bigger ships on the grid)
People are scared of Gideon, but everyone should be afraid of Bully Grogu. Especially now he has a mech-droid. No living creature he wants to eat is safe.

I hope it's not the Armorer, I'd rather she took command of the fleet to fight off the Imperials than help destroy it. I think Axe might be the other spy, where was he going? There were no ships or reinforcements on the surface. Plus he has a British accent, lol
I thought he might try to fly up to the fleet, or at least break the cloud cover to get a signal out. Tho i am getting some sus vibes from him as well.
I would bet that the Mandalorian's on the skiff are the spies. They were probably prisoners of Gideon and promised freedom if they led Bo Katan into a trap. Pretty convenient they knew where the Great Forge was, but not the Imperial base in the next room.
I mean, there would be a ship on the surface eventually. The Mandalorians needed a way to get back off the planet when they were done scouting the forge. The Armorer took the ship to transport the wounded, but it's presumable that a ship would return to the surface shortly after.
I just notice that the way Din spoke to Bo makes me think that he is truly worthy of being Mandalor. He learns and applies it imbued with some wisdom in it
My favourite episode in the entire show. The Beskar troopers, the united Mandalorians, Gideon's return and new armour, the Mando fleet, the Mando survivors, the fights at the end, the shadow council. Everything i wanted from a Mandalorian show, absolutely perfect
Best character death in Star Wars by a mile. The absolute hype we all had as Paz just kept trucking, killing all of the super commandos and nearly getting one of the praetorians. Songs will be written of Paz. This is the Way.
@@jayden.188 not in overall impact because he's a very secondary character, but in terms of pure badass last stand deaths I'd definitely say it's the best. Heavy, 99, Fives, to say a few from clone wars all probably more emotional though. But in terms of just the best death scene straight up, I can't put anything above Maul in Rebels.
This episode truly was the Empire Strikes Back of the Mandalorian. I’m surprised Gideon didn’t reveal himself to be Din’s father! Rip Paz, your bravery will be remembered 😢
Im sure the spies are the old mandalorians, they knew about the monters near the forge and they just fell to the abyss. Not to mention some of them are in a ship with the amorer ready to attack from the inside
That’s my thought. They said they kept moving to survive, but that still seems a stretch. I feel like Bo explaining she did surrender to save her people was significant or foreshadowing. The survivors made a deal to turn over Bo and the Mandalorians in exchange for their survival, whether food or not being killed.
@@Jonathan-fw6ty episode is called 'The Spies' note the S. Would be an odd choice for a single person, who we ALREADY knew was a spy in previous episodes
Paz's death made me think of Bo's conversation with Din, about her dad dying to defend Mandalore, and how Din responded with "This is the way". He was honoring her dad for dying in service to Mandalore, probably the greatest honor a Mandalorian can achieve. I think Paz would be happy that he stood ON MANDALORE, and fought (like a BOSS) to the death to defend it and his people.
I said it already on Late to the Party, but the Fleet arriving above Mandalore gave me some serious Battlestar Galactica Vibes. And Katee Sackhoff didn't help with that...
Fun Fact: Brian Gleeson who played Brendol Hux in this, the father of the famous Armitage Hux from the sequels, is actually that actor Domhnall Gleeson's younger brother! So a younger relative is playing his older relative! But they are actually related!

To everyone saying the spy is the Armorer, it could also be Axe Wolves. He lacks many characteristics of a true mandalorian. Out of all Mandalorian this is one of my favorites, the grogu scenes, Din honoring Bo, Paz having the most mando death possible, Gideon being a beskar wearing monster. It's important to remember that the Night Owls were at one point basically an elite group of Death Watch before Bo Katan left. Meanwhile the Children of the Watch left Deathwatch partly due to their obsession of things that weren't derivative of "The Way"

Lot of people calling the Armorer as the spy here. It feels like it could work. Certainly more impactful than new characters. And she never cared about retaking mandalore. This gets bo off the table and a lot of new Mandalorians on her side. She was possibly Death Watch at one point. A lot of this season has been about people who haven't actually been able to let go of the old ways, and if there is one character in this series that represents this...
@@paradox_4094 yes, misdirection. I think it is Axe Woves. He was chilling, getting rich with his light cruiser then Bo had to come and take it from him. I'm calling it right now that Axe Woves is the other spy.

I absolutely love how Mandalorian is building up more and more towards the Sequels. It gives me the same vibes as The Bad Batch which also showed the transition from one era to another. We started off with just Imperial Remnants and old stormtroopers and now we're directly seeing the seeds of the First Order, not just in terms of story but also in terms of design.
I really hate it as I want to ignore that shit as much as I can. I wish they just made these shows its own thing and not tie it into those horrendous sequels. This episode got me so excited for the future of Star Wars again. Seeing the shadow council with Xander Berkeley playing Captain Pellaeon and getting to see Brendol Hux? Hype as hell! RIP Paz the GOAT Vizsla.
I love how Boromir-esque Paz's death was, both in his character arc (starting by not believing the protagonist had a rightful claim and place to the group to then respecting and even looking up to them) and in the death itself (sacrificing himself to protect his companions and accepting his death but nor really defeat by fighting until he literally could no longer do it)
The Supercommandos basically wearing one of Ralph McQuarrie's original designs for Boba Fett, pretty much exactly the same chest armour... helmet slightly different, but the rest basicslly the same.
My favorite villain line in this episode: "Bo-Katan Kryze... We have to stop meeting like this," Why are you teasing her like that Gideon, I hate you 😂
You guys are true legends. You deserved to watch that exclusive screening at celebration in London lads! I'm actually sad for you and quite touched that you care about us Blind Wave fans so much. Much love BW/Wave Squadron❤this ep was epic!
When Grogu hit the "No" button, it was like a toddler's first word. That monster was just ugly looking and clearly not the Mythosaur (it had a Stegosaurus tail). That ambush was just crazy, so it looks like Gideon was using Mandalore the whole time as a last hold imperial garrison, and hopefully Axe was able to contact the fleet with a distress call (provided he's not a spy of course, but I highly doubt that). I think Mando's going to get his helmet removed by Gideon just to get the tar beaten out of him. May we ALL give a moment of silence to Paz Vizla... his sacrifice will never be forgotten. THIS IS THE WAY!!!
Seeing Pellaeon and Hux was so cool. This gets me hyped to see Thrawn in the future and to see what the Imperial Remnant is up to. I'm hoping one of the other warlords in the Shadow Council is Zsinj
It would be dumb as hell for the spy to be the Armorer. Im thinking its either Axe because he split to "warn the fleet" but the ship was gone and they cant communicate thru the atmosphere, or its someone still with the fleet. Possibly the dude the Amorer hailed as they were coming back.
My theory is, the “Spies” (emphasis on plural). Refers to the armourer and those Mandolorian survivors they found on Mandalore that were “unwell”. There had to be something more significant about that scene where she hailed the light cruiser to let her board. I believe she’s boarding with a squadron of “unwell” Mandolorians (imperials) to sabotage the infrastructure of the fleet.
I find it weird that the survivors knew where the great forge was but never caught a whiff of the imperial base being built nor establish. I think the ones left with Bo Katan will also turn on her next episode. Kind of poetic how “mandolorians” are always fighting other mandolorians
if the armorer is the spy and made all these armor for moff, she was leading the tribe and they dont have ships where they were hiding. and if she was off the planet i would think someone would have noticed at all.. aaah all these questions.
If she made it then it would be when it was just her and Vizsla. She could do it in secret. They were on that planet alone that Din went to when he was bounty hunting and had to go to them for help.
I love that you waited to react to this episode for the channel. Nobody would have blamed you for seeing it early but it was great to watch you react to it fresh...especially considering the magnitude of this episode.
I find it wierd in that case though because Gideon got all worked up about the tribes joining up, and at the same time the armourer have done everything she can to make that happen. A bit contradicting in my eyes..

Yes she is, and the "injured" Mandos are soldiers probably. She's escorting them to the ship and take the ship from the inside silently. We seen the captain of the Mandalorian ship, so probably they gonna kill him or something. It was not a random thing they show us him. She's the spy, its 100%!
She want to go to the forge but randomly leaves with the injured ones? Its so off!
The Jack Black episode was actually great and hilarious and I actuallyoved it unlike some people. I think it was a "calm before the storm" situation so that's why they did it! I love both!
if modded Empire At War taught me anything, a bunch of TIE interceptors and bombers can't even dream to take on an Arquintens flanked by 4 Gozanti cruisers (which are anti-small-craft screeners) plus the mando fleet has fighters and multiple Gauntlets themselves.
this Empire At War reference has made my day, thank you!
Gideon probably has a few cruisers himself.
And knowing the Empire, they have ships in waiting.
Exactly I'm not worried
Yup, it might be cute and all, but Grogu is a very real threat as a "fighter" now. Especially since he's gained confidence in using his force abilities. Hopefully he doesn't get too aggressive, it could lead to dark things....

I would love for Grogu to summon the mythosaur and all of the planets kaiju monsters to wipe out Gideons base.
It could happen
a soooooooo hoped he would force choke him through the glass
Same but I found that grogu have now become a filler witch I would've hoped a Luke and grogu and jedi academy season really good
I kind of think Din will fall and Luke will show up at the end to pick up Grogu...
Wow! That would be insanely cool, if Grogu summoned the many kaiju of Mandalore to attack his enemies...and, put in a Force call to Master Luke and Ahsoka. The team up would be EPIC.
Paz Viszla went Wrecker mode for that bit! Absolutely awesome!

Fun fact: Commandant Hux is played by yet another Gleeson!
Very nice. It's his brother I think

I hope it's not the Armorer, I'd rather she took command of the fleet to fight off the Imperials than help destroy it. I think Axe might be the other spy, where was he going? There were no ships or reinforcements on the surface. Plus he has a British accent, lol
So does Obi-Wan 😉
I thought he might try to fly up to the fleet, or at least break the cloud cover to get a signal out. Tho i am getting some sus vibes from him as well.

There's no such thing as a British accent
This is the best Star Wars death (in ALL of the movies, shows, animated shows, everything) in your opinion?? There is no wayyyy
@@jayden.188 🤣
@@jayden.188 not in overall impact because he's a very secondary character, but in terms of pure badass last stand deaths I'd definitely say it's the best. Heavy, 99, Fives, to say a few from clone wars all probably more emotional though.
But in terms of just the best death scene straight up, I can't put anything above Maul in Rebels.
This episode truly was the Empire Strikes Back of the Mandalorian. I’m surprised Gideon didn’t reveal himself to be Din’s father! Rip Paz, your bravery will be remembered 😢
🤣
Din djaarin, I am your father
-the chicken man
Im sure the spies are the old mandalorians, they knew about the monters near the forge and they just fell to the abyss. Not to mention some of them are in a ship with the amorer ready to attack from the inside
The empire guys probably showed up and told the survivors the Mandy leaders abandoned them
I think this is most likely, wounded one is gonna sabotage the big cruiser in some capacity
That’s my thought. They said they kept moving to survive, but that still seems a stretch. I feel like Bo explaining she did surrender to save her people was significant or foreshadowing. The survivors made a deal to turn over Bo and the Mandalorians in exchange for their survival, whether food or not being killed.
It's a fucking kids show.
The spy is Elia. There's not some crazy twist my dudes.
@@Jonathan-fw6ty episode is called 'The Spies' note the S. Would be an odd choice for a single person, who we ALREADY knew was a spy in previous episodes

What a penultimate episode. RIP Paz, he went out like a Mandalorian should, fighting till his last breath *salutes* This Is The Way!!
His son shall avenge him
I just noticed how Grogu is just sitting in Bo Katans lap when they were piloting the Gauntlet to Nevarro
Calvin's Infinite Sadness at the end of this episode was palpable. The episode was awesome. One of my favs.

It would make sense if he and some others freed Gideon when Bo didn’t return with the dark saber, viewing Gideon as a better ruler than Bo or a “primitive” like Din, in his words.
Yes! I refuse to believe it’s the armorer, mostly because I like her so much😂
@@amayadomani2383it doesn’t make sense if it’s her. She’s dedicated herself to The Creed and preserving Mandalorian culture. She seems to be who founded the covert in the first place.
@@fightingfaerie plus, if it’s her idea, why would Gideon be surprised if she was his spy? She would’ve been following his orders
Axe is probably the worst spy ever considering that he's dueling everyone left and right, rubbing shoulders with everyone, a spy would never attract that attention, they want to go under the radar not be the main target
He also helped paz save grogu
Out of all Mandalorian this is one of my favorites, the grogu scenes, Din honoring Bo, Paz having the most mando death possible, Gideon being a beskar wearing monster. I want to see the retaking of Mandalore. I love the 3 factions of mandolarions, The Survivers, Children of the watch, and Night owls. Such an amazing episode.
I love grogu in ig12, and his laugh early on.
I love the music during the praetorian part. Made it more terrifying with a sense of doom
I saw this episode at Celebration with a gazillion other ppl and it was an amazing experience 😍. Of course when the screen went black at the end the whole crowd groaned because we WANTED MORE 😂
After what happened to Tech and the focus shifting to Bo Katan, I really thought that Gideon was gonna execute Din.
Nah, they can't go that far
The only way I accept din's death is he slicing a isb on space with twin darksabers while rules of nature plays, not as ost, but an in universe music he's listening too via helmet
I doubt Gideon would execute Din. He's valuable bait for the Mandos and Grogu. Especially Grogu.
@@CardSearcher911 And, The Jedi, too...since they seem to be on his list, as well. He must know, now, that Grogu can contact Luke Skywalker, which might result in The New Republic Rangers (stationed in The Outer Rim) showing up. What a battle that would be to see.

din pledging his loyalty to bo katan was so beautiful....
You guys are definitely one of my favorite reaction channels. It feels like watching an episode with friends.
It's important to remember that the Night Owls were at one point basically an elite group of Death Watch before Bo Katan left. So it makes sense that they hold a lot of importance for the Darksaber still. Meanwhile the Children of the Watch left Deathwatch partly due to their obsession of things that weren't derivative of "The Way"
Massive respect and thanks, for not watching the episode early while you could have just to give us your reactions. You guys are next level!!

Thanks you all for not wanting to watch this episode at Celebration, (which was probably a difficult decision) but wanting to watch with us. That's dedication to your viewers...cannot go unnoticed! Watching y'alls reaction, speaks volumes. Joy. Happiness. Speculation. Sadness. Felt it all. Appreciate each other's guesses about where the last episode may lead. The obvious spy is the Armorer, but it either is Axe or the remaining surviving Mandalorians. Has to be.
Lot of people calling the Armorer as the spy here. It feels like it could work. Certainly more impactful than new characters. And she never cared about retaking mandalore. This gets bo off the table and a lot of new Mandalorians on her side. She was possibly Death Watch at one point. A lot of this season has been about people who haven't actually been able to let go of the old ways, and if there is one character in this series that represents this...
are she could be a red herring and we just think she's the spy when it's actually someone we dont suspect
@@paradox_4094 yes, misdirection. I think it is Axe Woves. He was chilling, getting rich with his light cruiser then Bo had to come and take it from him. I'm calling it right now that Axe Woves is the other spy.
@@paradox_4094 absolutely. Could be anyone. I mean Din was who I suspected first, considering they just took him away. That was super suspicious. Why not remove his helmet. Why not kill him.
I will always refuse to acknowledge those garbage movies as anything but a fever dream.

Grogu really spammed the hell out of that button in the IG-12, making me and my sister laughed in that moment.
The Supercommandos basically wearing one of Ralph McQuarrie's original designs for Boba Fett, pretty much exactly the same chest armour... helmet slightly different, but the rest basicslly the same.
My favorite villain line in this episode:
"Bo-Katan Kryze... We have to stop meeting like this,"
Why are you teasing her like that Gideon, I hate you 😂

That Paz scene immediately made me think of Guts. It would’ve been insane if he pulled that off.
He should’ve took all three over the edge
Them painting the bottom of that cruiser like Thrawns Star Destroyer was so sick.
If anyone would build that crazy landship to trick the Mandalorians, it would be Thrawn

The New Republic is going to get involved after seeing Moff Gideon escape ... and find themselves in an epic space battle.
I bawled like a little baby this episode. Mando and Grogu separated, Paz going out like that, the fleet in danger… This is NOT the way!!!!!
I was ugly crying at the ending, snot and tears everywhere it was so epic and yet sad.
Paz had a son man. Rest in Peace Paz.
I love how everybody I've spoken to has had the same reaction to Pellaeon, just guessed it instantly.
Rick Famuyiwa is now my favorite Star Wars TV director

Great episode. Bo’s “No!” made me tear up. RIP Paz.
if the armorer is the spy and made all these armor for moff, she was leading the tribe and they dont have ships where they were hiding. and if she was off the planet i would think someone would have noticed at all.. aaah all these questions.
Has to be another 1 of those random mandos.
Armourer is definitely a spy, she just so happened to leave at the right moment...and who else would be able to forge beskar armour...
I find it wierd in that case though because Gideon got all worked up about the tribes joining up, and at the same time the armourer have done everything she can to make that happen. A bit contradicting in my eyes..
We can see the imperial armor is not as good as mandalorian forged one, so I don't think the armorer made it
So is axe. He left too
