I GREW UP watching Clone Wars as a kid, but the robotic ones make much more sense! They're BATTLE DROIDS. They're not like clones. They're literal machines from a factory meant to kill. I LOVE the original Battlefront games, more than the new ones. I thought people didn't like the comedic shift but seems I was wrong. I love having a menacing, robotic feel to literal killer robots!

I grew up on Clone Wars, but a battle droid, especially in live action, doesn't sound right with a comedic voice. The robotic voice meant for LITERAL robots fits better in my opinion...

For all the complaints of too many cameos all the cameos fit perfectly, lizzo's hammy stage acting style was a perfect fit for a life long royal not grounded in reality, jack black fit this roll of converted imperial who is either super happy for converting or simply putting in an act for the queen who knows that's the fun, tom Holland's brother playing the dumb love struck awkward teenage mon calamari is spot on, and doc brown fit perfectly disgruntled scientist/starwars equivalent to a boomer praising a long dead president was perfect.

Hey some interesting references : 1) Plazir is same pronunciation of "plaisir" in french which means "Pleasure". 2) The dôme inspiration is in fact the American Architect Richard Buckminster Fuller, who design the American Pavillon of Expo67 at Montréal, Canada in 1967, where people can arrive per train in the dome. Theme of the universal exhibition was "Terre des Hommes/ Man and His World" - based of the novel of Saint-Antoine Exupéry (Petit Prince's author), which related Humanist values for an ideal world of peace. 3) Also, Captain Bombardier, who could be translated as Captain Bomber, can be related to J.Armand Bombardier (french canadien, province Québec) perfectionnated the snowmobile (skidoo) by inventing the chain treadmill, more efficient as propulsion on the snow. Bombadier cie elaborate also seadoo, airplain and they are reknown for their trains (subway, tramway)... =)

I believe there was an explanation for the change in the B1 voices/personalities. I think it was Clone Wars that showed us a scene of some B1s talking about how after Anakin blew up the command ship, they were upgraded to individual thought, which gives them the ability to form their own personality.

I enjoyed the main part of the episode; it showed that they are stronger together, if it was Bo on her own she wouldn't have been able to complete the investigation. Din's experience with the Ugnaughts and battle droids helped them gain clues, while Bo was more even-tempered with the droids, and they stopped the battle droid by shooting it at the same time. My main issue with the low-key transfer of the darksabre is that they never seemed to revisit the Armorer's comments in BoBF about him struggling with it because he was distracted (which feels like it might have been because he knew he'd removed his helmet, but he used it so briefly in this episode it's impossible to know if that was it).

    • @BeachGuy-nt5ot
      @BeachGuy-nt5ot Год назад +3

I thought the same thing. I figured it was because he was away from Grogu but then he had trouble in episode 2. It was then him being upset about the helmet thing so I could've sworn after episode 3 that he would be able to wield it, but he never used it until now and it was too quick.
Normally I'd just say "it was a thing they added to the BOBF so they could see how it went and if they decided not to go down that route, they can write it off as a one off line in a side story" but the fact that this fighting against the blade thing was in Rebels with Sabine makes it all the more upsetting that they sort of neglected it

He's "The Mandalorian", he's iconic and he can show up anywhere whether it's a dust-town, a forest or a futuristic city and look awesome. He can meet and interact with the huge names, like Luke or Ahsoka, and it will never feel out of place. And his great legacy will be in the upbringing he gave to Grogu. That's going to be important when they have to start confronting Imperials like Gideon when the New Republic won't.

To address the comment about Mando/Grogu splitting and the ST ruining Anakin's sacrifice, I believe two things can simultaneously be true. I can agree with Eric that, yes, a significant moment was clearly Din showing Grogu his face, briefly turning his back on his creed to express his love for Grogu. I also think it's true that a part of that significance was forcing Din, who'd gone from merely taking Grogu as a quarry to genuinely loving him and treating him like a son, to separate from Grogu and have to grow (at least for a time) without him by his side. I think people were interested in seeing how both characters change when they no longer have the other by their side.
Likewise, I think a moment of interpersonal significance with Vader can be saving his son when he couldn't save others he loved, while a larger significance can be Anakin finally emerging from Vader, toppling the evil within him, and finally ending the reign of evil that was Palpatine. Both can be true and important, just for different reasons.

Don't mind this, just me rambling...
Not sure why people would consider episodes like this filler when a lot of important things happen that can and will come back around.
-new allies, an entire planet in fact, that will help reestablish mandalore on an galactic politics level
-they have battle droids: reminds us of the clone wars and the different ideologies involved. Also Din's position toward droids in general. They could also become a bigger problem, at least the nano droid nepenthe stuff might. After IG-11 earlier this season and this episode, reprogrammed droids seem a bit of a recurring theme (btw maybe we can get IG repaired here?) There is still the open thread of dark troopers, that will likely come back with Gideon, important to keep in mind, bc they are hard to deal with, maybe not if you can just give them reprogramming juice
-it seems like a small thing, but Grogu is flaunting his force powers more and more, not at all hesitant to potentially out himself. He is less afraid and growing stronger, his training with Luke paying off. his title as knight could also be leveraged in the future, he is sort of a connector, linking the new Jedi, Mandalorians and now others. Kinda taking after Din:
-we see Din's expertise in communication again with the Ugnaughts, of course reminding us of previous seasons when he talked to other species. He gets how different people think, much better than Bo, meaning he will be crucial to her success in bringing together the Mandalorians and probably also in raising forces (including the new republic perhaps) against the enemy, when just mando firepower won't be enough
-Obviously we do advance the story and learn what the fleet has been up to, doubling down on the question if they were hired to free Gideon or if they were framed
-Bo's desire to reclaim and unite mandalore fully reawakens, she takes her fleet back and gets the Darksaber without directly fighting for it after refusing this before.
-the mandalorians accept it showing they are more flexible in their rules than assumed and possibly open to other changes like more democratic/shared leadership
-they also accept Din as Mandalorian once Bo talks about their ancestors. He is no longer a zealot cultist to them, mostly.
-however not all in the group might be happy with these developments and start more infighting and intrigue.
So yeah, I think this episode had a lot of interesting potential seeds for later. It might not have been the most exciting for some, understandable, but unlike movies, in a show like this we get to take time to set things up and have some breathing space after the action packed last episodes before shit inevitably hits the fan again. Personally, I like it a lot. The theories and discussions that arise and the resulting anticipation of what happens next are fun to me.
    I have spoken.

Honestly if you didn't like it that's fine. Everybody has different tastes. The problem lies in the fact that the fanbase has become so incredibly toxic in the way opinions are shared and the motivation behind those opinions.
For example, a few comments above yours on this list somebody invoked the name of Kathleen Kennedy and made the rather sexist statement that she is forcing them to replace all the male heroes with female heroes. I don't care whether that commenter liked the episode or not but his opinion on it is based on a very toxic position.
The problem now is that so many people don't want to be called out for being toxic or even to think of themselves as toxic so they have to manufacture all of this other BS to hide behind to justify their opinion. While I find that commenter's views deplorable I respect that he was at least honest enough to actually admit them instead of hiding behind some BS justifications.
PLEASE be aware I am not saying that YOU are personally toxic or that you are just bashing because of sexism or other isms. I am simply saying that it is a problem within the fanbase these days. And that has a lot to do with why people are drawing such hard lines in the sand on these positions.

This was an amazing episode. I really liked this one a lot and I thought it was great. And it was off the walls crazy with some of the things they did and with the people that showed up. But despite how weird this one was at times I felt like everything about it was just so great in every aspect. The the story, the action and the interactions between Mando and Bo-Katan made this episode even more amazing. I also loved the score for this episode, it gave us both that classic Mandalorian theme that we love and some action, thriller sounding themes. And the set design for the locations in this was so amazing. Plazir 15 just looked so beautiful and lived in through out the entire thing. Also the giant domes of the city did kind of look like the Epcot Ball. Right at the start it was really cool to see Axe Woves and Koska Reeves again after their last appearances since Season Two. Especially since Axe Woves actually got to be a fully fledged character this time around. It was also really cool to get to see another large group of live action Mandalorians. And I really liked how seeing as these use to be Bo-Katan’s fighters they all seem to follow the “Clone Wars design” were basically all the Mandalorians had the same design. And oh my God Jack Black was in this episode! This was a massive surprise, I am so happy that he was in this. And to me this was honestly one of those Star Wars cameos you didn’t know you needed until it happened. Also I think he played his role perfectly, his line delivery alone sold me on how much he fit the part. And with another surprise cameo for his episode, we got Christopher Lloyd! After almost a year of speculating what his role could be in this show he finally appeared. And you know what, call me crazy, but I loved his speech and I wanted to hear the rest of it. I find it so interesting that he was a Separatist that not only resisted against the Republic but against the Empire too. I also find it interesting how lately in Star Wars they keep bringing up the point “Dooku was right” first Tales of the Jedi, then Bad Batch now this, I wonder if this is building up to something. I really liked the scene between Din and the Ugnaughts, not only does it show that Din still thinks about Kuiil and his time with him but also that Din was able to pick up on a bit of their culture from him. I also really liked getting to hear “I have Spoken” again. I also loved being able to see Battle Droids in live action again, I thought they looked great and listening to that one speak with Bo was so fun to watch. I also loved seeing just how much Mando hates these droids, from just the second he laid eyes on them you could tell that he wanted to destroy them all. And it’s very poetic that the majority of the Battle Droids here were B2 Super Battle Droids seeing as how they were the ones that destroyed his village and killed his parents. Then we get to see the fight between Bo-Katan and Axe Woves which was so awesome. The choreography felt so great whether it was them going hand to hand, fighting with their knives, or using other weapons in their arsenal it felt awesome throughout the entire thing. I also really liked the various ways they were able to use their jetpacks throughout the fight. And I loved this episodes finale scene where Mando gives Bo the Darksaber. Not only was it great to hear how Din was able to find a loophole in the Darksaber logic but also that Bo-Katan is finally getting rightfully wield the Darksaber. I can’t wait to possibly see her use it more in action and that if now that she has rightfully won it, will the rest of the Mandalorians join and follow her. I really just enjoyed this episode a lot. It was so amazing in every aspect and served as a great action packed thriller. I am super curious to see where the rest of the story will lead the Mandalorian and Grogu and what will happen in next week’s episode. This is the Way…I Have Spoken

I find it an interesting dynamic and a bit of a personal headcanon that at the same time the clones were developing their own personalities throughout the war, so too did the B1 battle droids. A nice dynamic especially when you look at how rigid the clone commandos and droid commandos both are compared to their "reg" counterparts.

      what if . . .
at some point... may be a dangerous battle where bo's life be in eminent danger, Din then weilds that dark sabre and would be able to fight with ferocity and control ... to be able to save or protect bo ...
I think Din is now taking a position like a close bogyguard/guardian of Bo, without her realizing it... as to protect her from possible members of the clan to commit mutiny or anything of that sort...
and eventually Bo or Din at some point will be able to ride/control the mythosaur as in both would qualify to Lead...
or what if, at this point while Bo leads, din would now seak master Luke again and would now subject himself and grogu in training separately by Luke... and while the mandalorians get a beating from the empire, Din returns to rally the clan to battle the empire for a win... just crazy thoughts...

@@albertcabrerajr992 He's pretty much becoming a knight to a queen. Din is prefectly capable of leading people, but he feels most comfortable as a follower. And he clearly trusts Bo, both with his/Grogu's life, and with Mandalorian culture, so he sees her as a perfect queen to their people.

This was an odd episode but fun: always good to see Mercedes, Bo-Katan & Mando playing good cop & bad cop respectively, didn't see Jack Black & Lizzo coming, Doc Brown being crazy. Have fun a Celebration boys; "I have spoken."

Yeah I was definitely surprised and thought it was a bit weird to see Jack Black etc in this, but then I just sat back & enjoyed the ride!

Great to see real appreciation for this episode instead of RUclipsrs and the comment section feeling they deserve ‘exactly what they want’ and not what the show runners have decided on. It’s a ride and not dungeons and dragons choose your own adventure !

When the fight with the crab/spider-droid happened, i argued back then that this might be seen as Bo's legitimate claim to the Darksaber and wondered why they didn't even mention it in the rest of the episode or even once since then and figured this would have been a great way for Din to get rid of the saber, which he didn't ever really want to have in the first place. Well... somebody better pick up that phone, because i freaking called it! Honestly, this whole season goes completely different than what i thought it would be - and i'm all for it and excited to see where it's going next. Not that i would have minded seeing different Mandalorians battle for the Darksaber, but i'm also kind of glad they side-stepped this whole drama with Din's decision here.
Great episode. Loved it. It did, in a way, feel like one of the classic one-off "villain of the week" TCW-episode. Hell, it even had battle droids and Separatists! :D Liked the guest stars, too. And the planet/city looked great. Love how much more of the galaxy we get to see in this season.
