As always, great reaction!!! That's why anytime a new episode of Mando drops, I make it an effort to see yours first. Like many others have stated, i like this episode a lot. Learning about a new planet, seeing how other planets have handled the fall of the empire, the cameos were A1 all around, the story progress is good. Seeing Din and Bo work together as a team is phenomenal, seeing them play off each other strengths, Din with the Ugnaughts, Bo with the Droids and using there knowledge to figure out the culprit. I've been pushing this ever since Bo showed up but her Din would make excellent rulers together. I only hope they don't try and force a romantic relationship between these two...at least not so soon. Let them ruler together as respected equals then have it progress to that. As far as the Darksaber loophole, I know a lot of people will be pissed by it but they can shove it because it all falls into order based on the information we've been given about the saber and what's taken place in the story. Everything Din said was true and by the rules, Bo earned it. Why he waited till now to give it to her can be read a lot of ways. The way I looked at Din is versed in the rules of the Darksaber, give Bo kept it after saving Din, Din wouldn't have objected to because all she would have to do is explain the rules and he would've went along with it. But Bo returned to Din and Din never questioned why because again, he doesn't know the rules. It wasn't till Axe mentioned the Darksaber being his and how Bo needs to earn that first, is when he remembers the rules and thus recalls to them how she has already earned it prior to them arriving and gives it to her. As well, we are working on reuniting the people of Mandolore, fighting over the Darksaber would be counterintuitive of that goal. So Bo was never going to challenge Din outright for it, on top of that, she has grown to have a lot of respect and admiration for him Over all, great episode to a solid season. Any one who says different are too swayed by there personal wants and biases to see the story for what it is and enjoy it as such. And as well Omn1, another stellar reaction!!!! See ya on the next one!
The whole episode felt like a quest in a video game, you've got the main quest of reuniting the Mandalorians but you first have to complete a secondary quest of solving the rogue robots, which requires talking to this person, then that person until you eventually solve it all.
I've seen so many people saying how convenient it was to have Din give Bo the Sabre back. I saw it was Din being opportunistic and mentally going "FUCK YES, I CAN GET RID OF IT AND SHE CAN'T SAY *SHYT*!!!"
The previous two seasons were just like this. Main plot peppered in until the final two episodes. We didn't even see Moff Gideon until Chapter 7 in S1. This season is about the reunification of the Mandalorians and its clearly moving in that direction. I think people assumed it'd be another confrontation with Gideon and they can't get past that not being the driving force behind the season
Can you explain to me what the driving force is then? Just undoing season 2??? Grogu goes with the jedi ending his arc, then he comes back to do nothing. Din gets the darksaber setting him up to be the ruler of Mandalore, just for him to literally hand it to Bo. This season is a bigger downgrade from the first two that I could’ve had in my worst fears
@Dawson Groff Yep, simply put it's the redemption of Din in the eyes of his Covert and the reunification of Mandalore. The story line of the first two seasons is over and this is a new beginning as Din untangles himself from the stuff he got tied up in. Do you think he wants to rule Mandalore? No. He wants to raise his son and do his thing.
A lot of people didn't like this episode. I enjoyed it... and happy to see Bo and Din maintaining good terms despite their disagreements throughout the episode on how to handle problems. I like their teamwork throughout the season, let alone this ep. Bo handles the dark saber with agile finesse. No doubt she's the rightful wielder. No backstabbing needed to reclaim the sword. Respect to both protagonists for the peaceful transfer of power, though kicking battle droids was out of line, imho.
I never saw a fight/battle between Din and Bo happening. I love his loophole. It did happen like he described. I give seeing Jack Black and Christopher Lloyd a solid B. The grade would be higher if that portion of the episode was a bit shorter. I wish we had a little more interaction with the other Mandalorians. (veering off comment) Where did you get that shirt? I'm excited/hoping for next week to be a big episode!! Take care, Omn1
I think a lot of ppl including myself for a while were ignoring the huge character evolution Bo has been through since Clone Wars. She isnt a villain she is someone who made a mistake and is finding her purpose.
Had a smart brain moment; Things seem to be happening to easily and by circumstance but what if its literally Gideon luring all mandalorians out to kull them all.
@@Omn1Media Aplogies 😂 i don’t watch the parts after the reactions, mostly so i can feel like if whatever i thought might happen happens then im a genius and not a collective effort, i need that pride 😂
I like the idea that the most likely Mandalore after Bo-Katan is Grogu. Imagine a reign of 700 years or so with Grogu at head of the Mandalorian nation, leading them to greatness.
Why are people mad about the fact that Bo didn't fight Dihn for the saber?! I'm pretty sure Gideon didn't fight Bo for the saber. We've seen how proficient she was with it and that's why I think Gideon wouldn't defeat her.
I really don't give two shit about people who hating on the show every week. Why are they still watching at this point? The Mandalorian is the Power Rangers of Star Wars. Have these people not watch the last 2 seasons? It's always side quest to get to the main plot. Just as it is with The Bad Batch, Clone War and Star Wars Rebels. That's Dave Filoni creation. Enjoy the show as it is intended, it's not some high art series.
Thanks, Omni! 👑 How fabulous to see *Lizzo* as 'the Duchess', *Jack* *Black* as 'Captain Bombardier' and *Christopher* *Lloyd* as 'Commissioner Helgait'?! #Omn1Media #StarWars #Lizzo #JackBlack #ChristopherLloyd #TheMandalorian
Din is like Neo when he goes to see the Oracle. "Maybe he's waiting for his next life, who knows." Bo has done it, she's a has been, Din doesn't yet know his place, and I wonder, when they return to Mandalore, if he's the one that rides the Mythosaur. She saw it, but she thinks somehow that's her path to power. Din will beat up droids cause his family was killed by them, but he isn't gonna fight another Mandalorian to keep the sabre. We need another season, so we see how Din grows in his abilities and like Bo realizes he can unite them .
This episode felt like a fever dream. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it but it definitely had my attention the whole time. Unfortunately, this whole season has felt like a set up season. It's wildly uneven, not necessarily bad, but the cohesiveness has sort of flown out the window. And as much as I love Bo, Din is the character I care most about and this season hasn't really given him much to do. He's almost regressed as a character. It feels like they're doing that to lift up Bo, especially for people who didn't watch the Clone Wars. I feel like that's intentional because I don't think Bo will be wielding that Darksaber for too long. We know those that least want power, are typically those best to have it. I just think they wanted a level playing field before we really dig into that. I just don't love that it's coming at the cost of Din's development. Who knows, maybe these last 2 episodes will turn everything around, but this is definitely a set up season.
would make sense since it seems that these seasons go in pairs.. so this season has been like "lala so easy, everyone back together" and it could end with "i'm back" and them/someone being captured leaving a cliffhanger and the next season could start with a bang. But pretty ok/good season even if they follow some "we did it" plot (meaning that the season 4 can be just another story).
First the Beskar Spear and now the Darksaber; Mando Now Really needs a new weapon. {Here's to hoping when he joined back up with the covert, the Armorer restocked him with new whistling birds}. Or at least a new melee weapon besides his Vibro-knife.
You're one of the few people who seem to understand the over all meaning of "The Mandalorian" as a title. Too many people assume that the title is about Din but it means the ideology of for the culture.
I feel like this episode was for the clone wars lovers. There are episodes like this in clone wars as well which might feel like fillers but are fun to watch.
I wouldn't call this episode filler though, as we do get Bo-Katan having earned the darksaber and earned her right as leader of the Nite Owls again from Axe and reuniting Mandalore is a big plot point so I wouldn't really put this episode in the filler category.
yeah. but clone wars seasons have far more episodes and room for such side-arcs. its like the ahsoka-sisters arc in S7 - fun story to watch but in a short season moving toward the final arc just not ideal placed.
i know it's not the main focus, but i love that grogu became attached to lizzo. on another note, mando is willing to listen and learn to other cultures but refuses to have that same understanding and patience with droids, even after 2 seasons
😂😂 Black is a mega Star Wars fan. So happy for him. But this was a different episode. It was not that bad. I think this episode was to show us how Din and Bo work together. How they learn from each other.
Before I went to see the Super Mario movie. I was just shocked to see Jack Black himself in this week's Mandalorian episode and along with Christopher Lloyd too. Even though I was probably my least favourite episode but still good. It was a welcoming surprise to see the voice of Bower and Doc Brown in the same episode together.
You are the only reactor who seemed to feel the same as me. What I suspect will happen is that the mythosaur will be harder to tame than anticipated and there will be a reasonable chance that Grogu saves her by quieting the beast and there will be a contingent who think he as the same Jedi Mandalorian as the creator of the Dark Saber is the true sign of the new age. It just has to wait for him to get older so Din and Bo are basically regents and this might be why the Mandalores aren't even mentioned in the sequels because they kind of close themselves off as the planet heals. But in the new Rey story, they are the force she has to contend with because Grogu might not like the choice Luke made him make and grows not to like the traditional Jedi. He would rather Force users find their own way.
The ship visuals were great and so was seeing all those battledroids and other old droid models too. But the whole sidequest feeling with the disgruntled old Separatist was strange. After the amazing episodes 4 and 5 it was kinda hard not to feel this one wasn't as good in comparison. 🤔 Still i hope for some good action sequences in the last two episodes now that Bo Katan has acquired both her fleet, her soldier and the darksaber to lead them. It seems her new Hero's journey should be reaching its climax.😁
This episode was weird...I think that's a fair statement to make...It's interesting to me, cause parts of the plot almost felt a bit like something from the Clone Wars animated series, (And not just because of the Battle Droids.) but the overall vibe also had a kind of...90's-esque scifi tv show feel to it...Something like Farscape, in a sense...I donno...Maybe even a little bit of the Star Wars Holiday special as well, with Jack Black and Lizzo guest staring.
I liked this episode, I loved all the battle droid moments but I can see why people would hate it. I feel like this season is fundamentally different from those that came before. I feel like they are setting up events for future seasons and shows, rather than building to the finale this season.
I think Bo and Din were a good Team. Bo(good cop) Din (Bad Cop). It was nice to see Bo's high respect for Din Djarin and vice versa. I think they will be a good family. Queen(Mom), Worker(din), grogu(son) what are your thoughts?
Omni! Thank you for giving this episode the awe & praise it deserves. A few of the other reactors I follow have been… half-hearted, at best? It’s still early, I’m sure I’ll see more with your perspective as the day goes on. Anyway, this is the vid that convinced me to finally follow. Well done!
There's a LOT of hate against this episode for being super side quest like, but I really enjoyed seeing the CIS battle droids again, and having Bo claim her place again as possibly the next Mand'alor. Only problem I have with this is that Grogu is just.. there. He doesn't have his own story to him rn which bugs me. But great to see clan Kryze on top again.
I'm not going to lie this might be my favourite epesode. We got amazing cast members we all love, battle droids came back and the fact that doc was playing a sepratist was clever I must say.
This episode made me sort of sad, I feel horrible for Helgait, as a separatist and a fmr separatist world and a general person of the galaxy he had no idea what dooku was actually up to. he did realize that the Republic was mistreating the outer rim and taking advantage of them, not to mention the human-centrism that the Republic/empire had. the separatist citizens are truly innocent victims, that felt the desire to leave(not conquer) and were forced into war under false pretenses by a loaded war that would have them loose and be the bad-guys for little to no reason outside of organized corruption he wouldn't be privy to, then have your head of state killed without trial by the jedi corruption, then he would be along with the rest of the galaxy (especially fmr and ongoing separatists) be blamed, victimized and often heavily mistreated, only for the new republic to win, and dismantle any security forces that could be beneficial to his home and outer rim security, that is now even worse as remnant groups and pirates get out of control(only the separatist in lore provided a safer outer rim in context), and to add insult, his new ruler is a former empire officer and the worse case every seppi feared in the first place. if i were him, id feel the same way I'm sure. I loved Christopher Loyd's character, its super tragic. He didnt give up.
I know it's not moving the storyline forward but I'm here for more star wars culture they are exploring which is good. Couldn't believe it Lizzo and Jack and the doc 😮 And battle droids!!! Sweet
I mean, Bo Katan now has the dark saber back, she has two Mando tribes who look to her as their leader and she even opened diplomatic relations with another independent state. For the quest to restore Mandalore to its former glory, seems like the story moved on plenty. 🤓
its funny how even the more modern, progressive mandalorians have their own superstitions and strict traditions such as regarding the darksaber and how they refuse to budge on their stance about it. In a way they're not so different from the more radical children of the watch with their "helmet rule". And yeah there's no practical rationale for it either, the darksaber is just a trinket. Holding it doesn't make you the de facto ruler of mandalore any more than wearing st. edward's crown makes you the de facto king/queen of the UK.
Parts were silly, but I loved this one. Heck, we even got insight into how droids are "feeling" about the end of the Empire. And do we call him Sir Grogu now?

So Bo was never going to challenge Din outright for it, on top of that, she has grown to have a lot of respect and admiration for him
Over all, great episode to a solid season.
Din shouldn't be the Ruler of Mandalore and I'm happy he isn't. Love Bo Katan and watching Mando help her unite their people is going to be awesome
I LOVED this episode of Law and Order.
I have a strange feeling that they're setting up Din and Bo-Katan to *_become an item_* 🤔😳!
Of all the days for this man to appear in Star Wars, today just had to be the day...
din bippity-boppity-boo'ing that darksaber back to bo on a technicality was his dream come true.
I'm proud of myself - I called the dark saber transfer during the Mando capture and Bo rescue episode.
I've tried explaining this same thing about how the structure is like the other 2 seasons, but some people refuse to see it.
Considering how he lost his parents to battle droids I'm not going to be upset with him. He has a lot of unresolved issues.
This felt so law and order, gotta love it
I never saw a fight/battle between Din and Bo happening.
Loved this episode
I enjoy how every episode title of the Mandalorian this season could refer to at least two things. Makes you wonder about the series title.
Plain and simple FUN. Loved the good cop/bad cop
Had a smart brain moment;
Things seem to be happening to easily and by circumstance but what if its literally Gideon luring all mandalorians out to kull them all.
Haha I said that last episode as well!
@@Omn1Media Aplogies 😂 i don’t watch the parts after the reactions, mostly so i can feel like if whatever i thought might happen happens then im a genius and not a collective effort, i need that pride 😂
Excellent analysis. We see things the same....I have Spoken.....This is the Way!!!😁
I like the idea that the most likely Mandalore after Bo-Katan is Grogu.
I loved this episode. Jack Black, Lizzo, and Christopher Lloyd were all surprises to be sure, but welcome ones.
This episode was so whacky and fun, I loved it 😂
6:05 Professor, where's your ManDELORIAN?
Or at least a new melee weapon besides his
Vibro-knife.
You're one of the few people who seem to understand the over all meaning of "The Mandalorian" as a title. Too many people assume that the title is about Din but it means the ideology of for the culture.
Well said! 💞💞
My reaction to Jack Black AND Christopher Lloyd xD
Enjoyed your commentary.
That Bo-Katan Has More Curves Than BeggarsCanyon!😍
Yeah, this episode felt VERY Blade Runner 2049 loved it!
The tune that took control of Bo katan ship gave me thor ragnorok vibes
They are attracting some awesome guest stars this season!
Din's the POV character but not the protagonist right now, like Max and Furiosa in Mad Max Fury Road
i know it's not the main focus, but i love that grogu became attached to lizzo.
on another note, mando is willing to listen and learn to other cultures but refuses to have that same understanding and patience with droids, even after 2 seasons
Heavy battle droids like those killed his parents, so he's probably feeling that in this episode. He enjoyed kicking them, I could tell.
The only thing I'm upset about is that he had to give up the spear back in BoBF if he will no longer have the Darksaber.
Din was never comfortable having it.
Am I the only one who, when they started talking about nepenthe, thought of Rura Penthe?
😂😂 Black is a mega Star Wars fan. So happy for him.
But this was a different episode. It was not that bad. I think this episode was to show us how Din and Bo work together. How they learn from each other.
That SuperBattleDroid Must've Been in PS2 "BATTLEFRONT"!
OMFG!!!! YES YES YES. THIS IS A F***ING SWTOR Mission. That is why its crazy, but I love it. OMG. TY for making that comparison.
this episode really reminds me of a video game esque side mission
I Haven't see droids run before
JACK BLACK LIZZO AND THE OG CHRISTOPHER LLOYD!!!!!!!!!!
You get it..good review..watched a few others and they are mad..lol..
"I wonder if she'll try to lift him up" yeah... about that
Before I went to see the Super Mario movie. I was just shocked to see Jack Black himself in this week's Mandalorian episode and along with Christopher Lloyd too. Even though I was probably my least favourite episode but still good. It was a welcoming surprise to see the voice of Bower and Doc Brown in the same episode together.
Didn't anyone tell Christopher Lloyd's character that Dooku was just a pawn lol
Still i hope for some good action sequences in the last two episodes now that Bo Katan has acquired both her fleet, her soldier and the darksaber to lead them. It seems her new Hero's journey should be reaching its climax.😁
Head&shoulders on the run😂
I really don’t understand the hate behind this episode…
I do.
A lot of people hate it because of Jack black and Lizzo's appearance, I liked it though
@@daurydavis3983 It didn't propel the story much, thats the problem. 95% of the episode felt like filler.
Star Wars Theory
I would guess, because it was goofy as hell, more Space Balls than Star Wars and we still don't have any goal in sight with 2 episodes left.
I think Bo and Din were a good Team. Bo(good cop) Din (Bad Cop). It was nice to see Bo's high respect for Din Djarin and vice versa. I think they will be a good family. Queen(Mom), Worker(din), grogu(son) what are your thoughts?
Seems the royal family repurposed stormtrooper armor for their royal guard.
Who the fuck are the CIS?
Are they related to the CSI in any way?
Sir Grogu, you mean
This episode was missing Will Smith and Sonny from IRobot
I think Jack Black & Lizzo were cast to be a pair of well off, somewhat uppity royals. With that in my mind, I didn't mind them at all.
Did Bo stun Helgait before he revealed Anakin’s fate?
Couldn't believe it Lizzo and Jack and the doc 😮
And battle droids!!! Sweet
I mean, Bo Katan now has the dark saber back, she has two Mando tribes who look to her as their leader and she even opened diplomatic relations with another independent state. For the quest to restore Mandalore to its former glory, seems like the story moved on plenty. 🤓
Good Cop, Mando Cop!
its funny how even the more modern, progressive mandalorians have their own superstitions and strict traditions such as regarding the darksaber and how they refuse to budge on their stance about it.
I heard someone else on a podcast have that similar take on the title of The Mandalorian too
