He was, arguably, the greatest lightsaber duelist to ever exist and he didn’t really like using any of those tricks because he prided himself on being so good. Basically if he felt a duel was boring or he was getting frustrated he would use his lightsabers extra features. It also makes choreography for lightsaber duels extremely weird. You would have to invent a very strange fighting style for weapons that extend and retract and disappear at will. It wouldn’t be very cinematic and look really awkward. Sword fighting in movies is a classic trope that is understood by writers and audiences and messing with the formula that much would be difficult. Jedi are actually extremely dangerous with blasters as well, but as obi-wan says, the Jedi and Sith consider them “uncivilized”. The ability to use the force to predict a targets movement and all external factors make a Jedi marksman extremely accurate and deadly but Jedi are not about offense and a blaster is for killing people. Sith think it’s too boring and killing should be done up close. There are examples of each in legends lore but really those things would make force wielders even more over powered than they already are.
Almost all stories don’t do the obvious thing to get quick results for plot reasons, like jedi just force choking or force pulling at then stabbing every opponent who’s not a force user themselves, just how it is, shows the weakness of human emotions, compared to cold, calculated AI logic.
Hondo is heavily inspired by Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow, of course, but he’s still so unique in his own way, and fits perfectly into star wars, any episode with focus on Hondo, you know it’s gonna be good.

One thing that is difficult to portray on screen is the various ways the Jedi use the Force. When blocking blaster bolts, it's not about the Jedi's reaction speed, but his connection with the Force. In novels it is described as the Jedi just concentration on the connection while letting yourself go with the will of the Force. It is what is moving them to block, or dodge. They many times are not aware of how long they have been doing the activity or sometimes even what is currently happening. 3:17:14 i believe the lore reason for the poor aim is because of production quality, because a lot of clone trooper AND stormtrooper equipment was mass produced it had a variety of flaws, its why some clones shoot better than others because they've lived long enough to know where to actually aim to hit.
Also this is still in Phase 1 armour era so it gave good protection against light blaster shots and debris but was very cumbersome and uncomfortable. That’s why they switched to Phase 2 armour since they had more clones and could afford to trade a little protection for a little extra comfort, manoeuvrability and individualism.

You guys gotta play either Co-Op or Supremacy in Star Wars: Battlefront II. If you play either the Republic or Sepratists, it feels like you’re IN the Clone War.
4:55:57 the show keeps going and keeps progressively getting better and is quite literally one of the biggest influences on all of the Star Wars story at this point it basically starts to feel like all of the movies are just the beginnings and ends of certain points and these shows like Clone Wars are the main body of everything that's happening in the universe
Every season gets noticably better and better in quality (in every aspect) It kinda plateaus at season 5 and 6, but still, lots of captivating stories all over. In season 7, the final arc might as well be a movie. Can't wait for you guys to get further along
I really like how we got to see more of General Grievous in this version the Clone Wars series. It’s cool that he became an iconic character throughout the franchise, beginning with Genndy Tartatovsky’s take on Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith.
I really really hope that you guys are willing to watch Star Wars Rebels after this, and before Mandalorian/Ahsoka. Trust me, those last two shows have so much more of a payoff if you do. Particularly Ahsoka which is basically just Rebels season 5 and most of those characters are introduced/fleshed out in Rebels, which also happens to contain some of the absolute best Star Wars
Quick space lesson: a system, meaning a star with planets, both in star wars and in real life, is always named after the name of the star, or if there are multiple stars, the biggest one, or commonly the biggest twin stars, like the closest star system to us, alpha centauri, which is why our system is called the solar system, no other system has a star called the sun, only our star. And the reason the the malevolence could fly so close to the Abrigardo star, is cause it’s a red dwarf star, much smaller and cooler than our sun, but it can be more active and violent on the other hand.

So something that was pointed out to me a few years ago was Anakin and padme exchanged droids as their wedding presents to each other as r2 was originally padme's Droid from the naboo ship at 3p.o was Anakin's this is a thing that a lot of people seem to over look
You guys should watch Beast Wars: Transformers. It's the second ever fully CGI cartoon ever made, so it is very rough to look at, but it has such an amazing story.
It's funny that Ahsoka went from the Star Wars community absolutely hating her for the most part, to her becoming one of the most celebrated and beloved characters in the franchise. 💜
Cat And Mouse imo is a 10/10 genius perfectly written episode that is exactly the best intro to Star Wars the Clone Wars... Insane how much the show changes and gets even crazier and better by the end..
One of my favorite things about this series is how you get to see everyone learn and grow but become super jaded. The Clone Wars only lasts 3 years and as crazy as it seems, in season 1 Anakin is 19 and Ahsoka is about 14. By the last season, Anakin is 22 and ready to become Darth Vader and Ahsoka is 17 and has to watch the only family /friends she’s ever known be destroyed by the man who essentially raised her. And the craziest part is that Ahsoka is so clearly a version of Anakin that was properly nurtured. As lenient as Obi-Wan was with Anakin and as much as he loved him, he still put the Jedi order first which clearly played a part in Anakin’s downfall. Meanwhile Anakin trained Ahsoka the same way Obi-Wan trained him but also made sure not to completely stifle her emotions and empathy for others, he helped her keep her humanity (for lack of a better word) and imagine if that had been properly done for him
2:09:45 You should watch Rebels before the Ahsoka show. It's a direct continuation of Rebels. You may also want to watch Mandalorian before Ahsoka as well (that's where she was reintroduced).
They could watch tales of the jedi before rebels as it doesn't necessarily spoil anything but they would have to watch tales of the empire after ahsoka.
05:09:50 The kyber crystals in the lightsabers don't just change colors automatically, you have to take it out and focus your emotions through it and even then it seems it's only done if: A. You want to corrupt them and turn them red or B. You wan to purify them and turn them white
Its science FICTION. You’ll never run out of things to nitpick if you apply logic to everything, just try and enjoy it. If everyone did exactly what they should do the episodes would only be 5 minutes long lol
I love how this show is so good to me, that I can casually watch 5+ hours of reaction videos to it, and feel it was time well spent 😂 Just absolutely content to see other fans feeling the same excitement I felt
Cartoon Network made the first four Seasons of this show before it was moved to Netflix with it making season 5 and 6 before Disney had their full hands on it for the final season, it was also Netflix who made third season of Young Justice.
5:09:50 Lightsaber color does not have meaning like that. It's purple because it's purple. Red is the only color with meaning. Fans try to ascribe meaning to the colors because some of the older RPGs associated the color with the character class, but that's a game mechanic not story or lore.
Just for the record, at 27:15 the clone went in for a punch because his blaster got shot out of his hands. It happened really quick and most people miss that detail.
Fun Fact about Windu: His Force style is called Vaapad, which actually draws power from the Dark Side, but more as a redirect than typical Dark Side users. He takes power from his own inner darkness and an enemy's anger and fear and reverses it back on his attacker. Only a handful of Jedi used Vaapad, with Windu becoming the sole master of the technique.
Season 3 is when it actually gets good, can’t wait for that reaction! Honestly S1-2 are kind of rough to get through but you start to really see Anakin’s battle with the dark side more in season 3, as well as just higher quality stories and fight scenes
I am glad to have finally found someone who thinks the same way as me, one of the biggest problems with star wars media is how underutilized the force is. Force users can literally do almost anything through the force and yet they rarely use it, instead the Jedi just overly rely on their lightsabers to do everything
I look forward to watching your guys’ videos all the time!! I think you guys would really enjoy a show call “what we do in the shadows” I would love to see you guys watch it 😀
Obi Wan, Yoda, Skywalker... General Grievous is a Jedi stalker! Lightsaber battles...using the force, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I highly endorse. So comedy's the heart, and action is the soul. They make this network come alive, that's how we roll! Are you CN this!?
Like you've probably been told many times, it's not that they wrote the story out of order, it's that they after they got more budget and stuff, they revisited previous stuff and added to it the sassyness between anakin & obi-wan with dooku is SO much funnier when you take into consideration that dooku is technically their Jedi Grandpa lol
I really want them to go all the way with this because around season 3 or 4, it just becomes the horrors of war

Glad they watching timeline order. Can’t wait for the crazy long video of all seasons 😂
2:09:48 You need to finish The Clone Wars AND Rebels before Ahsoka. Mostly Rebels.
And Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett
These guys have no idea the can of worms they just opened. Every piece of canon Star Wars media is connected (for better or for worse).
@@HaydenWerren There's one episode of Mandalorian that serves as a prologue to the Ahsoka series, but other than that it and BoBF aren't connected to Ahsoka's plot.
@@HaydenWerrenwhy BoBF? I got through three or four episodes before I dropped it
You guys gotta play either Co-Op or Supremacy in Star Wars: Battlefront II. If you play either the Republic or Sepratists, it feels like you’re IN the Clone War.
Tell me is the game still alive or is it dead. I ear that in the playstation still has a solid gamer base
it depends on the platform I think. My boys and I play on Xbox and it’s hit or miss on if we get full lobbies.
First 2003 TMNT, now The Clone Wars...
_You're in for a bumpy ride. _*_In both cases._*
Soo about it bro , great way to spend a morning fr , thx my dudes keep up the great work its appreciated
Also it's cool that anakin did meant the angel species when him and Obi-Wan went to that planet for an antidote
And honestly they don't seem to be the most beautiful creatures in the universe to me.
Every season gets noticably better and better in quality (in every aspect)
It kinda plateaus at season 5 and 6, but still, lots of captivating stories all over.
"What if ahsoka is the reason why anakin turn"
...weeeeell...not exactly but
She's part of a long list.
A list of reasons some good and bad
Oh oh sure the ONE time I sleep in a little longer, this drops, lol. 💜
been waiting for this, was so close to buying pateron to watch clone wars, but i'm a uni student so cant really spend money on non esential, love it, hopefully i can pay u back later
There isnt really a difference between "Padawan" and "Padawan Learner". Its just two different ways to say the same thing. Like how "Pupil" and "Student" usually mean the same thing.
See y'all in about up to 3 months for the season 2 video, Billy! (I'm only messing, I'm just glad y'all are going through the entire show. I'm perfectly fine by waiting a bit longer to get the show as long as we get the entire thing eventually. 💜
Can't wait for them to watch the Umbara arc
@davidmullins1905 And the Brothers stuff (not saying the names for obvious reasons) and the Mortis Arc, and eventually the Siege of Mandalore...these boys will be bawling by the finale and I can't wait.
@@mimic1984 They're already done, it's just taking long because TCW is a big series.
@@davidmullins1905 They're already done, it's just taking long because TCW is a big series.
Droids being second (hell third!) Class citizens has always been a weirder talking point in Star Wars.
Yup.
This was my whole day at work listening to this it was amazing. Seriously listening to the banter and the Star Wars talk I loved all of this can’t wait for more to come
"Ahsoka's not the type to-"
Talks over the entire scene where Ahsoka's acting like that.
So something that was pointed out to me a few years ago was Anakin and padme exchanged droids as their wedding presents to each other as r2 was originally padme's Droid from the naboo ship at 3p.o was Anakin's this is a thing that a lot of people seem to over look
0:51, Anakin is a Jedi Knight not a padawan. He was knighted in the animated show Star Wars: Clone Wars made in 2003.
At 4:48:56 they’re actually from space New Zealand. The actor who played Jango Fett, and the clones in the movies is from New Zealand.
Anakin is just absolute chaos in that first episode! It's cool to watch it chronologically, I haven't done that yet.
I’ll save this for tomorrow to start off my weekend. Love this show so much.
Keep In mind that this movie takes place a month after attack of the clones you can see how much Anikan improved sense he got his hand cut off
You guys should watch Beast Wars: Transformers. It's the second ever fully CGI cartoon ever made, so it is very rough to look at, but it has such an amazing story.
Hell yeah! They would get a real kick out of Beast Wars.
Beast Wars is the GOAT when it comes to Transformers shows imo
Yes, thank you for this! Been waiting, hope to see the whole season!!
I mean hey, I watched Clones Wars in the order it was released as, and I just understood when it was showing me something that came before.
4:55:59 To where does the story go? To the end of the war. Poetically.
Finally I’ve waited forever for this video release!!
One of my clearest childhood memories is catching the premiere of the Clone Wars with my family.
Nah, Ahsoka's plot armor would have let her cut into the bottom of the falling elevator above her. She's "squirrely", remember?...
I agree, Rebels is an essential show for the Ahsoka show. And then Mando and Fett before that ...
They could watch tales of the jedi before rebels as it doesn't necessarily spoil anything but they would have to watch tales of the empire after ahsoka.
@@MrCooleb Tales of shows are great, but i think they could watch it after Rebels. Its not important show, "only" addition of the lore
Uploading the whole binge in one video is honestly a great move
05:09:50 The kyber crystals in the lightsabers don't just change colors automatically, you have to take it out and focus your emotions through it and even then it seems it's only done if:
A. You want to corrupt them and turn them red
or
B. You wan to purify them and turn them white
You don't even need to take out the crystal.
13:07 to answer that question fellas itd be considered selfcest i believe dont ask how i know that either lmao
I'd say it's closer to incest than selfcest, or perfectly right in-between
Its science FICTION. You’ll never run out of things to nitpick if you apply logic to everything, just try and enjoy it. If everyone did exactly what they should do the episodes would only be 5 minutes long lol
Anakin is a war hero, and a war criminal. And that's why he's the chosen one, he is the most 'human' person we see in all of Star Wars.
I love how this show is so good to me, that I can casually watch 5+ hours of reaction videos to it, and feel it was time well spent 😂 Just absolutely content to see other fans feeling the same excitement I felt
I love the malevolence run reminding me of the Bismarck
This show starts hitting some CRAZY arcs after season 1 and 2 ish it isn't just liberating planets anymore and it starts going places you don't expect
I've been waiting so long for this!!
“These droids just killed our clones”😭😂😂
Literally every episode ever
3:36:35... I never noticed until now that the graphic behind Dooku shows Coruscant, or at least a large city that looks just like it.
Anakin: "Ahsoka, what did I teached you about breaking the rules?"
Ahsoka: "How. You toughted me how".
Cartoon Network made the first four Seasons of this show before it was moved to Netflix with it making season 5 and 6 before Disney had their full hands on it for the final season, it was also Netflix who made third season of Young Justice.
HBO Max did Young Justice
Can't wait for Geonosis
D day of star wars. But I cant wait for the vietnam of star wars if you know what i mean
Hell of a time to have a couple days off. Been waiting for a binge of clone wars for a long time
5:09:50 Lightsaber color does not have meaning like that. It's purple because it's purple. Red is the only color with meaning. Fans try to ascribe meaning to the colors because some of the older RPGs associated the color with the character class, but that's a game mechanic not story or lore.
And purple it's purple because Samuel L. Jackson
Love, the fact that there’s the Billy inside joke. Your only way to find out is by watching adventure time
Just for the record, at 27:15 the clone went in for a punch because his blaster got shot out of his hands. It happened really quick and most people miss that detail.
Fun fairly obvious fact: Shaak Ti is the same race as Ahsoka, Togruta. 💜
"is there a weight limit to your force power bro?"
I think they need to play the force unleashed
3:07:43
C3PO: the ship has been destroyed.
Padme: battle droids?
C3PO: No.
Padme: Jar Jar?
C3PO: Jar Jar.
2:57:20 Republic Commando is technically that, just differently.
So happy y’all are doing this
Love when Bly is on screen, he is my favorite trooper!
Get ready for a masterpiece, Billy
FINALLY. YOU KNOW HOW LONG IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS?
I am glad to have finally found someone who thinks the same way as me, one of the biggest problems with star wars media is how underutilized the force is. Force users can literally do almost anything through the force and yet they rarely use it, instead the Jedi just overly rely on their lightsabers to do everything
I look forward to watching your guys’ videos all the time!! I think you guys would really enjoy a show call “what we do in the shadows” I would love to see you guys watch it 😀
PLEASE. This would be amazing 😂
Obi Wan, Yoda, Skywalker...
General Grievous is a Jedi stalker!
Lightsaber battles...using the force,
Star Wars: The Clone Wars,
I highly endorse.
So comedy's the heart,
and action is the soul.
They make this network come alive,
that's how we roll!
Are you CN this!?
2:29. Bro, you just had to be there when Cartoon Network was at its peak. Cartoon Network & Nickelodeon were cooking up gold.
Like you've probably been told many times, it's not that they wrote the story out of order, it's that they after they got more budget and stuff, they revisited previous stuff and added to it
the sassyness between anakin & obi-wan with dooku is SO much funnier when you take into consideration that dooku is technically their Jedi Grandpa lol
Obi-wan this entire series is just "Smile with attitude and vibes"
