      Ryan, the Perlemian Trade Route is NOT named after Rhea Perlman. That name has existed since the old EU, before Disney bought Star Wars. It's referenced and shown in some of the old EU novels in the pages at the beginning of the book, where there's a map of the Star Wars galaxy.
      So, interesting theory or idea, but that trade route has had that name for a lot longer than Rhea Perlman has had anything to do with Star Wars.

    I think the thing with Sabine and Ahsoka is that they're both deeply depressed people- ex child soldiers who've seen way too much and done way too much, and it's weighing them down now that they're older and wiser and had years to think about it all. That's a tough combination for the two leads.

      If he started that training after the Mortis arc I'd certainly say it's possible, but I think her costuming had changed by Mortis and in Tales she was wearing her earliest look when she started that training. That aside, it's still not impossible, and since we know that Sith Lords can torment a Jedi with visions of their loved ones suffering, Vader did it to Luke, Palpatine did it to Anakin, perhaps Palpatine used visions of Ahsoka before he found out about Anakin's marriage. That could trigger the intense training push.

      @@lukeford9803 she doesn't! That's why I still love the show. When adapting an established work, there are choices one must make when casting the live action. They saw her performance at the audition and said "that's a variant of Sabine!" And so did I.
      Snow White and the Little Mermaid chose to say anyone can be Ariel or Snow for better or worse, as long as you thrive for adventure or are pure of heart, which are awesome messages. It's equally awesome for Sabine to be any woman, but, to be visually accurate she'd need to be darker. That's just a fact, like America Chavez in comix vs Multiverse of Madness, or Sunspot or whatever his name is in New Mutants. I'm not irate over it, it's just something I noticed. Like if Ahsoka were another shade of orange lol
      However, Sabine, Snow White or Ariel have established visual media, descriptions, to which you can either lean in or away. Some people are even more sensitive, which is a shame 🤷🏾‍♂️ I think of every property as a potential multiverse where we can explore stuff like this, her race was never relevant to her story like it is being Twilek or whatever else, so it's an appropriate change.

    • @nailinthefashion
      @nailinthefashion Год назад +1

      @@NuteGunray yep, it's not that deep, but I can see why someone might think it's some really political message within all this modern racial tension. Imo we should try to prop up people of lesser circumstance to give opportunities to those that don't usually come across them, but the casting director is free to make whatever decision they want! We can be sensitive but not obsessive 🙏🏾

      Not to take away from that reference but I felt it was a matrix reference to when they hid from the sentinels (Baylon could have been a jedi sentinel) while powering down the ship. Continuing on Baylon then sends a search party(sentinels in the matrix) to find Ahsoka and Sabine.

    I’m actually loving Dawson’s portrayal of a troubled and stoic Ashoka. Remember, this is a continuation of her arc of extremely traumatic events of being betrayed by the Jedi council, living in exile on coruscant, escaping order 66 and the death of all her clone brothers in arms, living in exile AGAIN, then finding out the fate of Anakin and being dragged through space and time all before surviving the rest of the empirial era. I think there is room for both the concept of midichlorians (representing innate talent) and the type of discipline/meditation Ahsoka mentions. I think Sabine is a bit like Chirrut (which - how can we not mention Chirrut in an episode about blind samarai!) who doesn't have the ability to manipulate the Force, but through intense discipline is still attuned to it and in balance with it. Ahsoka, who doesn't feel bound by the Jedi's initial rules, can still teach Sabine the general mindfulness, ethics and philosophy of the Jedi, even if she can't move rocks or whatever else. Honestly, I hope Sabine never actually moves that cup. To me that's not the point.

    To feed into the “Ezra is Marrok” theory. In the space battle scene Marrok says “As you wish” which obviously reminded me of The Princess Bride. A movie where the line “As You Wish” is uttered by a character introduced as a good guy who goes away, comes back as a masked villain, only to find out he was a masked villain to return home and we never really evil. Ezra could have a same arc, he didn’t really turn to the dark side, but had to pretend to gain certain trusts to get back home.
    Now… I’m probably 100% in the wrong here. But it’s what the “as you wish” line made me think.

    I still think Marrok is Kanan Jarrus. I'm guessing he survived that explosion but badly burned, almost dead, and maybe lost his memory. If Grogu can protect himself and others from an exploding starship, Kanan did the same. So, the Empire found him maybe thinking he was an inquisitor, or brainwashed him, or he thought he was an inquistor from the many battles. Memory was jumbled up. The witches could have also revived him. Anyway, he's fully clothed and wears a mask because of the burns like Darth Vader. Lastly, my gut feeling is Filoni wants a mini reunion of ALL his Rebels main characters.

    Everyone expects Ahsoka to be the spunky teen we saw in The Clone Wars; but she isn't. In Rebels she showed very little of her teen spunkiness and was far more brooding and serious. With the weight of Anakin as Vader plus her aging/ maturing, plus her new role as a Master, the gradual change into a calmer, more stoic Master is very, very fitting.

    • @rhov-anion
      @rhov-anion Год назад +1

      I wholly agree. I've noticeable only seen men complaining that she no longer acts like a teenager. Now, I won't say some BS like "men can't accept that women mature" because most men perfectly understand that, with time and experience, an energetic and spunky girl can become a calm and calculated woman... but it is still interesting that I've seen not a single woman complain that Ahsoka isn't still as perky as she was as a child. ESPECIALLY with all she has survived, it would be distasteful if she was still carefree. We saw her slowly mature in Clone Wars, we saw her as a calmer adult in Rebels, and now we see her as a master. I mean, imagine if Luke was still whiny on the Moon of Endor. It wouldn't have shown any character growth. So I think Ahsoka's stoic attitude speaks louder of what she has endured than a million bad-writing flashbacks.

The fighters Marrok, Shin, and co. are flying look much more similar to the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt (which had a wide, radial engine up front and a chunky fuselage which earned it the nickname, "the Jug") than the North American P-51 Mustang (which featured a thinner, more tapered nose due to its in-line engine). Grievous' fighter in ROTS looks like a more refined version of the Pau'an Porax-38 fighters (which appear in my favorite Star Wars books, Incredible Cross-sections but were cut from the film). She even has the same kind of vest/pants/soft boots as Dagobah Luke in a different color, and also getting the 'don't try' explanation. ANH was very much Luke quickly getting an introduction into the Force and making Obi-Wan proud. But Sabine already knows all about Force users. She has the same mental block that Luke did in ESB (but without the latent ability).
