I like how Shin decided to end the fight and stab Sabine right at the moment when it was time to leave. It shows that she could end this fight at any moment but decided to play with her food a little.
I'm so happy that Hera's lekku have the same pattern as in Rebels. In the trailers it just looked like her lekku was solid green. It's a minor detail but I love it.
These episodes were everything i was expecting and more, the opening crawl, the score by Kevin Kiner, the opening sequence with Baylan and the rebels, seeing Lothal in live action, Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, CHOPPER... everything about this start was just INCREDIBLE OMG😭
Plz explain how Han Solo dies from the same light sabre wound but Sabine and Reva are both perfectly fine, But sure this is INCREDIBLE OMG 😂Disney is hot garbage but you fanboys look right past the obvious inconsistencies.
These episodes are EXACTLY what I was hoping for! I allowed myself to be more excited for this than I have for anything in a long time and I KNEW Filoni wouldn't let us down!
@rileygarraway well I stand corrected. It’s still messed up though how Mando s1 and s2 was safe from forced political agendas and were just great fun stories and Mando s3 had KK’s fingerprints all over it as that season was all about Bo Katan and now they have the guts to say The Mandalorian series title means all of them not only Din and Grogu when the first two seasons were mainly about them like wtf are they doing?
@@Ay3shizzleChrist…Mando is literally better as a background character instead of main character. His entire thing is space adventures with his kid, he rubs elbows with the big guys but doesn’t want to be the big guy. He just wants to look after his son and that’s pretty much it.
Finished watching episode 1 and almost done with episode 2. God damn it's so good. The mirroring of Phantom Menace and Clone Wars are so well done especially for Shin Hati the apprentice to Baylan Skoll. Skoll-Hati parallels to Count Dooku-Asaj Ventress from Clone Wars tv series. Hati I feel is a wildcard because she grows weary of her master and the witch nightsister Morgan Elsbeth. Also RIP to Mark Rolston's character and seeing the return of Clancy Brown's character from Rebels that he voiced was great as well.
Damn, I miss the days when people used to get limbs cut off in Star Wars. Getting impaled by a Lightsaber just loses its impact when people are ultimately fine afterwards.
A cool tiny camera detail I noticed was that a little after 30:50 in the show, Sabine presses the button to close the door which slides open and closed horizontally, but instead, she presses the button and the camera wipes horizontally to the next scene. Her pressing the button is closing the door horizontally AND changing the scene with a horizontal wipe at the same time! The camera represented the door!
The phantom menace callbacks at the start, first time Baylon spoke I heard Qui-Gon, the shot of behind them reminded me of him and Obi-Wan, and then the Darth Maul shot with Shin and the probe… wonderfully done!
Ahsoka&Hera: Sabine is an artist. She'll understand the artifact and unlock the map. There is no better person for such a task Thrawn: Am I a joke to you?
I’m convinced that their orange lightsabers are using those Kohlan crystals (from the Master & Apprentice novel) that are considerably weaker than Kyber, and would explain how Sabine survived so easily.
the subtle change in the music when anakin was mentioned was a nice touch. and i have to say, i haven't seen two prettier sort-of-jedi fight in star wars before. 😍
As someone who has rewatched rebels 3 times with it being my favorite SW series this was absolutely beautiful. Not gonna lie I teared up a bit seeing ahsoka talk to hera about anakin and the opening crawl was SUCH a great touch.
5.1 earthquake hits you guys during filming and you brush it off like it was nothing, while most of us watching this reaction would've been screaming like a little girl and more than likely shat ourselves!!! THAT'S PROFESSIONALISM AND WHY I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!! Great start to the show btw!!!
You have to watch Rebels series if you want to better understand Ahsoka's series, I recommend that while you wait for Ahsoka's episodes every Tuesday that you watch Rebels series during the week, the episodes last 22 minutes, you can watch two episodes for day, the Rebels series is beautiful, you're going to love it, it has 4 seasons and season 4 is fantastic. While you wait for every Ahsoka episode you watch Rebels, you won't regret it 😊❤❤❤
This show really feels like Star Wars at its best. From the epic battles to simple conversation and good droid banter. It feels like the direct successor to Return of the Jedi with Ahsoka carrying the torch now, plus the red crawl reminded me of 'Revenge of the Jedi' the original title for episode 6 which was also in red letters.
There is a sequence at least 2 with the Inquisitor as he is running towards the ship with Ahoska chasing him from behind parallels to Maul chasing Qui-Gon in Phantom Menace, then with Shin Hati locating Sabine Wren on Lothal just Darth Maul locating Qui-Gon, his apprentice Obi-Wan, Padme, Jar-Jar. Those nice moments are perfectly captured in Ahoska series.
This is the way. Filoni just keeps getting better with each series he does, I think there are going to be some surprising twists. And since I am finishing up Rebels, some of them shouldn't be so much of a surprise as there are crumbs there to lead the way.
I literally just finished watching the first two episodes and I absolutely loved them. I haven't completed Rebels yet but still felt like nothing was lost, and the mix of humor, action, and adventure was great.

I’m already loving this show. It’s the first time I’ve really felt like a love action Star Wars show was Star Wars. That being said, I hate myself right now for not realizing when I watched this that it was David Tenent as Huyang.

When this show was announced I was scared at first. Disney has fucked up a lot of projects but this felt like classic Lucas Studios. Baylan is a great villain even though we don't know his end goals yet. His Padawan seems both unhinged but focused at the same time, not someone to lead but a great follower. Hera and Sabine looked amazing and Huyang travelling with Ahsoka makes an interesting friendship.
dave takes ahsoka very seriously. idk why anyone thought this show would be anything like mando or any of the other disney+ shows. it feels so much like rebels and rebels was 100% pure star wars
My ONE criticism of this show so far has been that Huyang couldn't decipher the Apple of Eden (I don't remember what it was actually called). That shit had like 3 sides bro. If people can solve Rubix Cubes, a thousand year old droid can figure out a way easier puzzle. Other than that I'm in love with the show so far.
And then there's the matter of Ahsoka actually being a Force-user. But I'd also criticize some other stuff like Sabine fighting droids barehanded instead of immediately going for a weapon.
Late to get here watched at work 😅😅 soooo good David Tennant Clancy Brown screaming over the kockass music at Sabines bike scene. This is one excellent series. Rosario slays. I look forward to watching every episode with you guys 💖💖🎬✌️
One thing I loved about these episodes was how Filoni and Green used silence to build the mood. When his Clone wars first aired, a lot of ppl accused Filoni of over relying on dialogue, unlike Genndy. It was genuinely great seeing Filoni take that criticism to heart and use silence.
I really enjoyed the two first episodes. I have my own critics about some of the decisions (including the constant use of Volume instead of shooting on locations and whatnot), but overall I liked it so much. It's easily waaaay much better than all the past Disney craps. It's too early for having a conclusive opinion, but I see where Dave might wanna take this and I trust him. He's literally our last hope for SW.
HOLY FREAKING CRAP, THESE TWO EPISODES FELT LIKE A FULL LENGTH THEATRICAL MOVIE! If it wasn’t evident before, this and the next episode prove that Dave Filoni is the true apprentice and successor of George Lucas. His eye for the details of the same classic samurai films that inspired Lucas is all over this show. What’s really surprising is that these episodes are made in a way that even people who didn’t see Rebels can get into this show without being lost, while hardcore fans like myself who watched it from day one are well and truly rewarded for watching it from beginning to end. And the actresses for Ahsoka, Sabine and Hera are absolutely amazing, I especially love that Clancy Brown got to play the same character he voiced in Rebels. But Ray Stevenson, as always, was perfect. Rest In Peace Ray, we will never forget you!
The opening sequence to the introduction of Sabine Wren felt like Akira driving her bike on the open road. That same sequence you get to see in Batman Beyond with the introduction of Terry McGinnis in the episode "Rebirth, Part 1" that took inspiration from Akira.
I mean, you will already have heard it in Episode two but to iterate: NO, I personally never saw any prove that Sabine was Force-Sensitive in Rebels (if anything, the opposite because she was already part of the crew when Kanan took Ezra in because he wanted a Padawan to pass on his knowledge). Great to see you Guys (Mike, your humor and Obi-Wan-isms are the highlight of Reel Rejects SW reactions) react to this Dave Filoni goodness. As others have said: I knew Master Filoni wouldn't let Us down. I gotta say, while watching all of this (Parts One and Two), in the back of my mind, I kept thinking...wait until Jedi Master Luke Skywalker finds out about THIS...when Baylan finds out about his existence and presence in the hunt...OH, BABY!
I didn’t watch any of Rebels and absolutely love this show already, it’s a perfect mix of all the best elements of what makes Star Wars. There’s nothing here I was particularly confused about, there’s enough alluded to from the visuals, music and subtle interactions that gives you an overall impression of what’s going on. I also love the amount of Celtic mythology they’ve put into this, it helps make it feel a lot more tangible.
Thank you John, for the Fifth Element pull - I wondered who else was going to pick that up! Kevin Kiner had better get an Emmy nomination for his composing. The scary piano, reworking the Rebels themes, the new scores (samurai vibes in the intro!)! Amazing.
I can't get over the fact there was an earthquake and they casually not only keep watching but also just joked about it xD but as someone who lives in a nation below sealevel, I should understand if you're used to the situation.
I Love this bro, Ahsoka being with rebels again is so sick. I do like Sabine with the long hair way more though, she looks freaking stunning with long hair bro. I’m so interested in this show rn too, the rebels being back is so sick🔥🔥🔥
I think the most likely option will be that all living beings can hear the will of the force but, not wield it. Which I assume is what Ahsoka was trying to train Sabine to do. Only lifeforms with a sufficient supply of Midichlorians in their blood will be able to wield the force.
Did you guys notice the astromech unit with the female NR pilot was based on the original Kenner R2D2 figure with the two saber ejection ports on the left side of the main "eye" and paper decal round it's body before they recast the moulds to include the details and use paint instead of the decal? Just a little fun fact!
I’m convinced that their lightsabers are orange because they use Kohlan crystals, which were a major part of the Master & Apprentice novel. They’re lower “power” which would explain how Sabine survived so easily.
If you get stabbed through your entire body with a crappy, blunt, low-grade sword, it's pretty much the same damage as being stabbed the same way with a high-quality sword. So the 'power' thing doesn't really make sense. The injury and damage is the same.

Seeing the whole room and camera shake at 12:00mins made it more immersive 😂
I Love this bro, Ahsoka being with rebels again is so sick. I do like Sabine with the long hair way more though, she looks freaking stunning with long hair bro. I’m so interested in this show rn too, the rebels being back is so sick🔥🔥🔥
The Ezra recording was right before he went to face Thrawn in the last episode of Rebels. He knew he was going away.
I think the most likely option will be that all living beings can hear the will of the force but, not wield it. Which I assume is what Ahsoka was trying to train Sabine to do. Only lifeforms with a sufficient supply of Midichlorians in their blood will be able to wield the force.
The earthquake gave away your location. Lol
The embodiment of how women should be written and Star in movies and shows. Ahsoka is amazing.
Did you guys notice the astromech unit with the female NR pilot was based on the original Kenner R2D2 figure with the two saber ejection ports on the left side of the main "eye" and paper decal round it's body before they recast the moulds to include the details and use paint instead of the decal? Just a little fun fact!
Only watched certain scenes and episodes of Rebels, and I wasn't lost and thought it was so good. I want MOAR.
She survived because it mostly didn’t hit any vital organs and she got medical help immediately
did they rlly give her 1 minute to run away from that self-destruct protocol for real?
