I really like the way cad bane went out. His whole death is ironic. During the clone wars he killed many clones just to be killed by one and immediately after saying look out for yourself he gets killed by the weapon that bobas new family gave him. I also think this may represent boba killing who he was in the past as cad bane in this series serves as a reminder of what boba was vs what he is now.

    • @VampiricDarkDragon
      @VampiricDarkDragon 2 года назад +10

It's possible that he isn't dead. People have noted that a blinking red light can be seen on his chest after he's been stabbed, perhaps acting as a beacon to signal someone that he's in peril, like perhaps Todo 360.

    "Says the 71 year old!"
That outshot Boba twice after sending his Rancor running.
    But I digress.
Boba Fett, the man that started all this Mandalorian stuff and Mando, the man carrying it like a blazing torch, fighting Side by Side was Art. I don't think I'll ever tire of that scene.
But, the theme of this episode should have been the theme of the whole series.
Boba Fett couldn't out gun Cad Bane because Cad Bane is the better Bounty Hunter. He couldn't do this as a crime lord, he's as far from a crime lord as Spider-man is. No, Boba Fett won this as a hero.
Star Wars has recurring themes of Choice. Such as Grogu choosing Mando, Luke giving Grogu the choice. Boba's choice to fight for this Town, this world.
Mando's choice to fight and if need be Die by Boba's side.
And whats more Star Wars than abandoning the Dark Side (or path of a cold blooded killer) and turning towards the light?
And no. The Rancor was that exact size, we only saw it lying down.
Boba had an Emperor Palpatine scene on the Rancor. And the Rancor had rhe same gestures as a certain chosen one of the Jedi Order

@@tash6638 If that was true, he would have remained a Bounty Hunter. Also if that were true, he'd have out gunned him. He could not.
I'll give you this,; Fett is way cooler. In legends, he not only becomes to leader of Mandalor, he trains one of the Skywalker children to fight. And his presence is just too cool for words. Bane gives off the ominous presence like you're making a deal with a devil when he's present.
Fett's so cool, he can flirt with Jabba's dancers, have his blaster ready to fire, and then go right back to chilling while STILL being the biggest bad ass in the room

Since people say Cad Bane's light beeping might mean he's alive... I think he might be back with some mods like Fennec - she got bullet in stomach and Cad got stick. Cob Vanth is gonna be upgraded as well, so it could mean there is going to be another duel between Cad and Cob now both upgraded significantly. Sure, bringing back people to life might be annoying at this point, but screw it. It has be badass!
Also I heard comments that Boba could just take Slave I and end everything in a brief moment.
Seems like a fair point. I wonder what could stand against it from logical point of view? (Not just... well we needed to show the Rancor at some point)
    Any ideas?

This whole final episode in general has soooo many plotholes, stupid decisions and Deus Ex Machinas that I honestly cannot say I find the episode "good". It was enjoyable overall and still decent but too many things were off that pulled me right out of the experience.
      Just a few examples:
      - Why the hell would they not go to the more defensible palace instead of the city center? The Pykes don't want to destroy the planet, just Boba. By staying in the city he actually made the city and its civilians a target in the first place!!
      - The Pykes, an interstellar crime syndicate with probably more money and resources than the Rebels had, just sends two big droids and 100 foot soldiers on a planet they need to keep the spice trade up in the best possible way... really?
      - The Rancor just eats all those metallic claws and the shots from the droid's huge cannons without problems but one tiny wrist-mounted flamethrower is enough to scare him off? If he had just swiped his claws once in the right direction Bane would be toothpaste. Also, just my opinion, but the obvious Rancor=King Kong reference was way too cheesy for me.
      - Everyone just kept shooting at the damn droid's shields... do they not have brains? Mando straight-up said "Energy weapons cannot get through and rockets are too fast"... maybe considering just... walking through the shield would have helped? Why did they only think of that after 30 minutes... especially since it's not like we have never seen shielded droids before. In the Clone Wars even basic clone troopers were shown to get close to the droidekas to enter their shield and then take them out from there, so Boba at least should maybe have seen that tactic before or heard of it.
      - Nobody even suspects for a minute that the local leaders might betray Boba. Like... what? Not trusting anyone should be basic instinct and it felt like every character just deactivates his brain until it is needed again for a "cool" scene. Also it felt like Fennec was the only truly capable person on the whole planet.
I could go on for a while but I think I made my point clear. :P
Overall I would give the show a 6/10. Or if you just count the Grogu/Mando parts and see the show as a filler-season for The Mandalorian it's an 8/10.

28:27 - Interesting that you mentioned Ezra's force connection to animals. Crazy thought, but since Grogu isn't going to be training with Luke (apparently), he'll still need someone to help him train to prevent falling to the dark side. Ahsoka, we believe, will be soon going for Thrawn, and presumably find Ezra in the journey. Why not have the unconventional, orphaned Jedi with a force connection to animals train the unconventional, orphaned force-wielding kid who has a force connection to animals?

    Kyle's right!
People's lofty, (unrealistic,) expectations too often set themselves up for crushing disappointment, when whatever "theory," they've invested themselves in ends up not happening.
Then, it becomes a disappointment bandwagon, where a not-insignificant percentage of them are doing nothing but injecting hate and vitriol into the fandom. Its super toxic. And then it becomes toxic to admit when you've actually enjoyed it, whether it's an episode, an entire series or a movie or trilogy.
I loved that finale, I feel like people are watching something else entirely lol the previous couple of episodes may have pumped people's expectations way too high, for this final to match up, no matter what ended up happening, to be real.
If the criticism gets too negative, (which tends to happen a little more amongst the Star Wars fandom than any other, really,) I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't pick it up for a second season.
    (I'm just sayin' ✌)

Really good point about rumors and leaks. I don’t know if it’s just social media or what but people get way way too hyped up about things that won’t happen then judge a show based on their own expectations.
I think this show was pretty good. Not the best but had some cool moments and it is a spin off to hold us over. Won’t complain about more Star Wars but there was stuff to be desired.

I had an adorable thought/feeling of Grogu and the Rancor would be great friends if they ever met!!!! I loved that it came true!!!!!!!!!! Especially when Grogu snuggled up to its sleeping head (still wished Boba's Rancor had a name). Looks like we're adding Grogu to the Jedi side who use the Force to connect well w/ animals....but maybe still except for Anakin cause I think he did that connection trick only that 1 time (and I loved that before reuniting with Mando, the 1st thing Grogu did was eating poop worms 🤣)

When Bane got stabbed, after he was “dead”, there was a red indicator light blinking on a badge on his chest. I’m wondering if in addition to the tube in his throat, the metal head gear, if Bane might have some other “enhancements” to save him.

I'm thinking that that blinking red light is either his secondary life support system or possibly his droid Toto's way of tracking him. If Cad Bane is actually dead, this was a bookend way to send him out though. And since the shows we're getting from now on are set before, we can see him pop up in both Kenobi and Andor. Possibly even Ahsoka since she fought him and Aurra Sing in the CW.

With the sun behind him, throwing him into partial silhouette…my favorite shot of the entire episode. This whole series has been filled with fantastic cinematography. 🙂

Boba owes Din now. Boba has refused to suggest he is Mandalorian to anyone but Din. He has said this by showing his chain code, praising Din's believe in Creed, holding his oath to save Grogu, and wearing the Mythosaur sigil. I look forward to see how Boba help Lone Wolf and Cub later on. I'd love to see the Mask of Mandalore ! reappear.

Baby is ambidextrous with the force. I need to go back through previous shows to see if there’s any consistency. In this one, he tore the part out of the monster weapon with his right hand, but calmed the Rancor with his left. He touched his father’s face with his left (here and Din’s actual face in Mando finale). I’m pretty sure he choked Cara with his right…it may mean nothing more than scene set up and where the camera was.
On another note, I’m pretty sure this series was planned with two goals - Boba Fett’s story and getting Grogu back with Mando before Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Whenever I’d hear Star Wars fans and commentators talk about Grogu training to be a Jedi, or Din’s journey without him - and that MAYBE in season four they might meet again, I’d just shake my head. Because when we were bawling our collective eyes out when Grogu left with Luke, Disney executives were on the phone with Jon Favreau demanding “Tell us how you’re going to have the puppet back on the show when you start the next season”.
I won’t say I’m going to miss you between now and when the next show comes out - because whenever I start missing the show, I just pull up your reactions to remind myself. I started watching to fill myself in on the Star Wars facts & content I didn’t know, and stayed because of your enthusiasm. All the best!

A bit mixed on the finale, but I really enjoy what they did with the mandalorian and grogu. The Rancor sequence brings back Star Wars Kinect vibes with the chaos that ensues, and bringing back Beast tame with a cute Grogu sequence on top of that was great. I can understand where some are coming from with the plot of grogu becoming a Jedi being undone immediately, but perhaps it will be the case where Grogu is the next Tarr viszla bridging the gap between Jedi and mandalorian.
Boba and Cad Bane stuff was cool too, and Bane is definitely not dead. If he can shrug off a Headshot, then he can take a Gaffi Stick impalement. As a whole I do enjoy the show despite the issues it has.
