      Yeah, there was an idea for a while that the series would be about Boba settling old scores, and the finale would feature Luke or Han. He also clearly doesn't feel great about Jedi in general, considering his entire history

    @emme you missed that the blinking on Cad Bane's chest only started blinking after he "died". What makes Cad Bane so dangerous as a bounty hunter is that he modded his body to specifically hunt Jedi. It is very possible that blinking was either a signal for medical assistance or even a backup for his heart. Given Cad Bane's tendency to be harder to kill than a roach, it is possible he may be back.

      Oh nice! Possibly in the live action movie that will tie together everything, possibly working for Thrawn just like how Rukh did, seeing the 2 best blue faced characters in star wars would be amazing.

      Cad Bane's droid companion is going to show up and save him, the blinking light is sort of an emergency signal/beacon which it waits for.

      @@mariohnyc Yeah, I was surprised we didn't see one of the Todo units (one was destroyed in a previous story)Bane keeps as a flunky. It makes perfect sense that Todo may have been with Bane ship and was ready to dispatch. From a story standpoint, one would think that Boba would have seen to Bane's removal and disposal personally, just in case.

    In the plans for the original Season 7 and 8 of The Clone Wars, there was going to be an arc in which Cad Bane took Boba Fett for a mission and to prepare him for a duel to settle who was the better bounty hunter: Cad Bane or Jango Fett. It was Cad Bane who gave Boba Fett that famous dent in his helmet.
    As for the rancor, I think you mean King Kong.

      There’s an unfinished animated version of it as Boba vs Cad. I would’ve loved that arc more than the sisters one, also I loved the unfinished stand off as the greatest bounty hunter of an era passing the torch to who would be best bounty hunter of the next era

    "Santo" is actually featured in several Star Wars comics, mainly in Dr Aphra series (she calls him "Santy") featuring an unusual team of characters, each one resembling some kind of "evil copy" of more famous Sw characters... Black Krrsantan for Chewbacca, a couple of really evil droids for C3PO and R2D2, and of course Dr Aphra who could be considered the Han Solo of the archaeologists, running errands for Darth Vader (but mainly for herself). It's quite enjoyable, while I don't remember if it's still canon.

    • @davidbergfors6820
      @davidbergfors6820 6 месяцев назад

      "Still Canon"? Everything that is officially published by Lucasfilm since the "reorganization" is Canon, and will be canon.
      anything published earlier, has the label "Legends" and has never, I repeat, NEVER, been official Lucasfilm Canon.

    • @EmanueleCorsi
      @EmanueleCorsi 6 месяцев назад

      Except for the movies, I presume 😏Everything published before Disney was called "Expanded Universe" and was generally accepted, even if not officially canon. They were not particularly organized so I believe there was no way to consider them a "canon", but there were some fixed points and some generic lore that was widely shared. After Disney took over they changed the Expanded Universe to Legends because needed space for their "new stuff". That said, my remark was simply that I don't remember if Dr Aphra's issue was before or after Disney "reorganization", as you call it.

    • @davidbergfors6820
      @davidbergfors6820 6 месяцев назад

      @@EmanueleCorsi you are correct, prior to official publishing that did take place after George Lucas sold the Lucasfilm company to Disney, a loosley licenced publication was called Expanded Universe and this became what we now know as Legends. The rancor climbing the tower is an homage to an iconic scene in King Kong (1933), despite the fact that a Rancor seems closer to a Godzilla-type reptile than a giant gorilla. Also, seeing Boba Fett riding the rancor is a throw-back to a short, animated segment in the Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), where Boba rides the great Mythosaur.

    Nerd talk incoming:
    18:43 Remember in the Clone Wars during the arc on Onderron where they had a method of taking out Droidekas? By rolling droid poppers or thermal detonators slow enough, they could make it through the shields of the Droidekas. Their shields only blocked energy weapons and high-velocity objects/projectiles. They couldn’t stop slow moving stuff as a part of their design; if they did, their shields would get caught up on everything and hinder their movement entirely. These droids have the same type of shield.

    Just please keep in mind .... even as "Boba Fett" didn't always mean that the show was dedicated to only his story-line "The Mandalorian" doesn't necessarily refer to "Mando". There are other character arcs that insert others into the role of the series title. Season 3 has several arcs that fit. It doesn't make it any less enjoyable, and because you know so much of the lore because you watched the animated series I think you'll enjoy it 10x more. Can't wait to see you continue your SW journey!!

    I will stretch my legs, stay hydrated, but what if I get arrested for doing something noble and good?
    Also, glad you liked the series. Some people didn't like it as much. I thought the first time through that the flashbacks were uneven, the mods and their colorful bikes a little weird for tatooine, and both episodes dedicated to Mando should have been the first two episodes of season 3 of mando. Instead, just have mando take a transport to tatooine after fennec reaches out to him for the last episode or two.
    ON watching the series a second time, it does flow a bit better, but the problem is that boba felt is now a changed man since we last saw him in the original trilogy, and he's making decisions we aren't used to seeing from him. The flashbacks help explain some of that, but because they are often shown after he makes present day decisions, it doesn't flow as well. I honestly wish the show was shown in order. First two episodes are how he got out of the sarlaac pit and got trained by the sand people. Episodes 3-4 are when Boba rescues fennec and gets his ship and floes off to mando. Episodes 5-6 are when he takes over jabba's rule and deals with the enemy, and then at the end of 6 gets mando for help in episode 7, the finale.
    But at least the show feels better on a second run through once we've seen everything the first time around.

    "The people who live here, need our protection."........therefore the logical tactic is to make sure they are directly in the line of fire and that we are in a non defensible positions so we can die while putting those people in harms way and defeat the entire purpose of that sentiment. I don't know if the writer strike started by the time this was written but some of the writing here just leaves me dumbfounded. At least spinning either looks cool or funny, but this level of incompetence always frustrates me. Makes sense for some of these characters, they are just kids, but Boba, Fenic, and Mando should know better. Those still confused, the presented plans logic is equivalent to giving the bank robbers hostages they wouldn't have had as a means of defeating them.
    Lovely reaction as usual though Emme, thank you. Be a Mandalorian Jedi and have the best of both worlds.

    Mods are also meant to be an old-timer cultural in-joke. The Mods (for Modernist) subculture from the early 60's used a lot of stylish ultramodern fashion trends and kids would spend a lot of their money modifying (another "modding" word connection) their Vespa scooters with flashy colors, chrome, redundant mirrors and decorative paint jobs. The vibe was kind of a skateboard scene meets biker gang deal with an edge of street fashion, but mostly popular in England with British youth. The Who's Quadrophenia album centered around it.
    I'm not a huge fan of the emphasis here because it doesn't really match the style guide for established SW world building and felt too much of a winky nod, which breaks story immersion for me. It felt like Spy Kids: The Star Wars... Though to be fair I had the same reaction to the big Ralph McQuarrie concept painting for Jabba the Hut turned into an oil painting for them to drive through like an old pane of glass B&W Hollywood gag. I don't need Jawas to dab or Harlem shake, you know?

    To be honest, it had some weaker moments, but I overall enjoyed Book of Boba Fett. but what I feel is the two "Mando-centric" episodes did hurt both this show and the overall Mandalorian story a bit. I don't like the way they brought back Grogu. It felt rushed and because of that, it diminishes the impact of Din's and Grogu's goodbye after season 2 of Mando. While cannonically, the time Grogu is training with Luke is somewhat long, we only see Din alone for one episode, and that's not even in the Mandalorian show. While we can't be sure, I think it was someone higher-up who mandated that Grogu must be back for the start of season 3, because they were afraid the show wouldn't be as profitable without Grogu in it. But I think that was the wrong move. I am not against Grogu reuniting with Din somewhere down the round, perhaps at the end of season 3, after he has been more extensively trained as a Jedi. Seeing almost a whole season of the Mandalorian without Grogu would have made the reunion more satisfying and it could show how Din feels and acts without Grogu. Also, it felt wrong for Luke to make him choose, I am pretty sure he did study the history of the Jedi Order and he knew about the creator of the Darksaber being both Jedi and Mandalorian, so why would he think being both is bad, we have no explanation. In Legends (the stories before Disney bought StarWars), Luke's new Jedi Order was far less dogmatic and far more open, for example, about romance and other interpersonal relationships, and I think it was for the better. But, oh, well, we have what we have, and in my opinion, it could have been better, but it's not bad.

    I genuinely never understood the idea that Book of Boba Fett is The Mandalorian 2.5. I feel like anyone who says it never watched the show except for the episodes with Din Djarin. The show is seven episodes, and the majority of those episodes have absolutely no Mando whatsoever. Not to mention that Boba Fett is also in several episodes of The Mandalorian and stole the show, so it's only fair.
    For the majority of the show, it's just Boba. Episode 5 is necessary for audiences to catch up with Din after Mando season 2, because it would feel very odd and unsatisfactory to just have him pop up with nothing but a music cue at the end of episode 4.
    The Ahsoka, Luke, and Grogu stuff in episode 6 was completely unnecessary, but didn't hurt, either. It was just extra. But the episode then continues to set up the finale with the arrival of Cad Bane, the gunning down of Cobb Vanth, and the bombing of the Sanctuary.
    And then the finale was immediately back to the main plot of the show, with some moments of Grogu and Din's reunion shoved in.
    But at the end of the day, after the lack of development for the Mods, the unnecessary fan service in episode 6, and the fact the finale should have been split into two parts with flashbacks to the unfinished Boba Fett and Cad Bane Clone Wars arc recreated in live action, the show is very much a Boba Fett show at the end of the day.
    And as for the people who dislike it because it "ruins Boba's character" or some nonsense like that, you guys are too attached to the Legends material and clearly never paid attention to what George Lucas did with the character in Attack of the Clones and Clone Wars. Because he's very similar here to how he was in those.

    For Boba Fett fans, let me tell you that this new version of Boba Fett is IMMENSELY watered-down from his original Expanded Universe/Legends version, who was FAR more ruthless, but fleshed-out as a character.
    In 16 BBY (three years after Revenge of the Sith), at the age of 16, Boba Fett married a bounty hunter two years older than him named Sintas Vel, and they had a daughter together named Ailyn Vel, a year later in 15 BBY. Boba then gave up on being a bounty hunter and settled down on Concord Dawn to become a Journeyman Protector (Mandalorian lawmen, basically the Sheriffs of Mandalore, a position that Jango Fett and his predecessor, Jaster Mereel also held for a time). But then one of Boba's superiors sexually assaulted Sintas, and Boba killed him in revenge. And to preserve Sintas' name, they kept it secret, at the cost of it looking like Boba killed him in cold blood, so he was exiled, leaving Sintas to raise their daughter alone.
    By 1 BBY, Sintas had left the now-16-year-old Ailyn to pursue a bounty, a hunt from which she did not return. Feeling that it was Boba's fault her mother was gone, she began hunting for her father to kill him. However, she ended up killing Spar (Alpha-02/"Mandalore the Resurrector"), an ARC Clone Trooper. She was found years later, blinded and her memories lost, but brought back to Fett to be cared for.
    At some point, Boba also became the Mand'alor following the fall of the Empire.
    Ailyn then gave birth to a child of her own, a daughter named Mirta Gev around 16 ABY, and raised her to hate her grandfather Boba Fett as well. But in 40 ABY, Ailyn was murdered by fallen Jedi Knight Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus (the first child of Han and Leia). This led to Jacen's younger sister, Jaina Solo (a Jedi Knight) seeking out Boba Fett (the most notorious Jedi killer in the galaxy) to be trained by him to kill Jacen and avenge Boba's daughter. Jaina would also use the Force to help restore Sintas' sight and memories with the help of a Mandalorian Jedi named Gotab. All was explained to Ailyn abd Mirta, and Boba was forgiven. Boba then gave Sintas a fortune so that she would never have to bounty hunt ever again, welcoming her to live on Mandalore for the rest of her life.
    The farthest Legends got with Boba Fett was 44 ABY, shortly after Jaina's successful defeat and killing of Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus.
    Boba Fett is stated to have died during the timeskip between 45 ABY and 130 ABY.

    i still cant get over how AWFULLY stupid that mando+boba vs. pykes shootout is, the one right before Freetown arrives
    the director has no idea how gun combat is supposed to take place, like, why do 2 highly trained shooters just jetpack into the middle of the open and place themselves in a position with hundreds of possible lines of sight all around them and just duck taking all the blaster shots to the armor (risking any hit inbetween the plates which is a very realistic possibility)
    WHY are those 2 advanced soldiers not using their jetpacks to take advantagious positions on corners of the buildings to their left and right, spread out, take cover behind each building, peek & shoot, but no, fuck logic
