The darksaber represented and even encouraged infighting between Mandalorians for over 1000 years. The whole point of it being destroyed was to further reinforce the line " we are stronger together " and new change of the Mandalorian culture. They're done fighting each other, it is time to rebuild. To then go back and rebuild the darksaber would be a HUGE MISTAKE! Din Grogu is now canonically on track to become the new Tarre Vizsla. The Armorer bringing her forging tools to battles will forever be the coolest and most iconic thing to me. She's so cool. I also loved that shot of Bo holding the dark saber as they flew in. Legendary!
Seeing grogu protecting din and bo made me feel proud of him. Then hearing din saying he’ll adopt grogu as his own officially made me tear up a bit. Grogu is always the mvp!
2:12 Grogu was using bacta spray to heal any potential injuries. Remember in season 1 that IG-11 also used bacta spray on Din when he removed his helmet after taking a beating.
I personally enjoyed the season finale and that Mando is officially a dad now LOL. Btw I love your Bad Batch reactions and I would love to see you finish the rest of season 2 when you have time!
Okay so anyone wondering about the "spies" you've all been taking that title far too literal. It seems to be inspired by the 12 spies where Moses sent 12 "spies" or scouts into the Promised Land, The land of Canaan ahead of mosses and his followers. This is all paralleled in Episode 7 titled "Spies" with Bo sending in a scout group of men and woman (Spies) to explore Mandalore (Promised Land) before the arrival of the Armourer and the Fleet (Before Joshua and Moses followers). It all makes sense once you link the last episode to the tale of the 12 Spies rather than actual spies within the ranks of the Mandalorians. It can also be seen as a It's also a reference to the Shadow Council, scouting the galaxy searching for allies and waiting to rebuild the Empire. So you look at it both ways in episode 7. There was no actual spies in these episodes unless you count Elia Kane the female Imperial working undercover within the New Republic. This is not an unanswered question or a mistake on the writers parts but just a massive misunderstanding by the fans lol I do find it funny that so many people created theorises on who the spy was but then this released and people who mistook the meaning of the title started to complain when they're theorises didn't come true. looking at you The Den Of Nerds and Star Wars Theory.
*Moses sent the 12 spies into Canaan. Joshua was one of them (the Benjamite spy), and he and Caleb were the only ones to said they could take the land from the Canaanites.
The thing that made this season stand out to me, was the score. Obviously we owe so much of the credit for all the music to Ludwig, but MAN Joseph Shirley took it to a whole other level. This last episode, the pirates episode, man it’s all incredible. So wonderful
Grogu made me crumble at almost every opportunity in this episode. That force protection scene at the end was so special! Great end to the season, I just wish it picked up sooner with more tie ins to Gideon's plan and had a more consistent tone throughout. Episode 3 just feels like a waste of an hour looking back now with it being the longest episode of the bunch. It felt more like an episode of Andor and we learned more about the scientist doing clone research than we did about Mando this entire season 🤣
Some takeaways from episode 3 despite it being mostly on Coruscant: We now know that there is a "rehabilitation" plan for captured Imperials. We know the fate of the clone specialist doctor, which, by the way, I was wondering about after the end of S2. Man was quite dangerous in his own way if he can cross species splice Force powers into cloned humans as we were shown. We know that there is a lethal spy still working with the Empire embedded in the New Republic, killing useful converts to the New Republic. And finally, we know that New Republic security SUCKS. At least put a watch with a transmitter on the Imperials that defected to them that warns when they wander off. Make it multipurpose, like a communicator/bank card/GPS that can be used so they can find their way back to their area and just not mention that it is a Lojack to keep track of their whereabouts.
If you notice, the Moff Gideon they fought had no mustache, in all other appearances he had a mustache so some people think that was a clone they fought
10:39 Gideon was only able to crush the Darksaber because he was wearing a suit of mechanized Beskar armor 😥😓. Maybe the Darksaber can be remade 🤔🤯🤩! And instead of being for the ruler of Mandalore, maybe it could be for Mandalore's champion and chief protector 🤔😉!
I feel like this helps the show go in any direction it wants now... They could time jump to an older Grogu, go to Mandalore as they rebuild, get back to the episodic type series it was in season 1, etc.
This felt very much like it could have been the ending of the series, and not just the season. But we know therer will be a season 4 and a Mandoverse movie, so it'll be interesting to see what lies ahead.
Despite its missed opportunities and flaws, I still enjoyed this season finale. Also, I loved how worried you were about Din Djarin and Grogu during the final battle with Moff Gideon, Alyska.
obviously, if you listen closely you can hear hydraulic sounds whenever gideon moves :) thats also why he walks like a robot, his armor must weigh like 300 pounds at least
The captain of the ship was reacting so slowly because on the ship they had no idea that there were any imperial ships on the planet, let alone they were about to be attacked, or that they needed help down below due to the inability to communicate between the planet and space. They were sitting sitting up there because that's what there job was to do.
I do have one huge question. Our boy Axe was able to fly from underground all the way to low orbit and still had gas left, but, the coven ran out of gas chasing a bird/dragon/whatever? Very good episode, that just made me chuckle.
Also is the windshield really so fragile that ties crashing into and shooting the windshield didn’t break the glass but axe woves just shot an arm rocket at it and blew it up to escape the crashing ship?
I hope the next time we see Mando, there is like a 10 year time jump and Grogu is older and talking. I wouldn't even mind seeing further in the future with a near grown Grogu and older Mando, in which Grogu is a badass warrior and has harnessed the force along with the fighting style of Mando. I'd like to see him reforge the dark saber after meeting Luke or Ahsoka again.
This ending felt very safe. I feel there should have been something more in the end, like a post-credits scene revealing a big surprise. There were no risks taken this finale and while it was good, I feel a tiny bit let down, as I have with this season overall.
They could use the rest lol. Took down Gideon, helped take out Space Pirates and Spice Runners, reunited Mandalore and rebuilt Nevarro. Oh yeah, reconnected some Jedis too. Don't worry, they'll show up in August with Ashoka. I have a feeling.
"Oh, these guys have shields. I always hate fighting shield guys in games. They're always so annoying to fight." Just three more days until Jedi Survivor. Get ready for lots and lots of shield guys, m'lady.
As for the Darksaber being destroyed so easily, its not the thick plates of armour and is likely quite thin to cover all the complex electronics, crystal, and powersource, so despite being made of Beskar its still more fragile. (The sabre is implied to be hundreds, if not thousands of years old and most metals do deterioriate over time even with good care). Also given the noises he makes while moving and his shear strength in the fight, its implied that Gideon was wearing either a powered exoskelton or had upgraded his own body with cybernetics so his strength was near superhuman. It also makes sense symbolically to be destroyed in this last battle. Mandalore is being reunited and reforged into a new nation, and the Darksaber was a remnent from the warmongering times that caused them so much suffering, best its last use was in the battle bringing them all together.
The most profound plot twist and not at all surprising was that all the underhanded activities Moff Gideon perpetrated the last few seasons were all for his own personal gain nothing more. What a prick. We've probably not seen the last of him.
I think it was Gideon's clone. I think that's why he didn't have the mustache. The real Gideon is off hiding somewhere and he had his clone out doing his dirty work for a little while.
I kinda hope we get a spinoff where the Darksaber gets repaired. The Armorer can probably repair the handle no problem, but the hard part is likely getting a new crystal.
I wish it was longer so they could have done a little more Lore building in the finale...I would have liked to know more about the Cloning. I felt like Gideon should have been in the cloning chamber room waiting for Din since he knew he was free and could track them. But the fight at the end was pretty awesome.
*ALL HAIL BO-KATAN, THIS IS THE WAY!!* I’ve said for years that she could be the best ruler Mandalore has ever had, and she’s more than proven that. I’m also so happy that the Mandalorians *FINALLY* have their home back but more than that, they have truly united. And seeing the Great Forge reignited was beautiful. I still can’t believe how many people thought that one of the Mandalorians would’ve been a spy for Moff Gideon, especially The Armorer! What just because she’s mysterious, has horns on her helmet?!?! I blame the fact that the last episode was called The Spies, which was a horrible title because there has only been 1 spy and it’s Elia Kane. Also, all I have wanted was for Din and Grogu, (I’m sorry, Din Grogu) to find a nice, peaceful and beautiful place to relax and call home. And all the frogs to play with/eat.
The spies were the twelve mandalorian send by Bo-katan on the planet. they were spies from the empire point of view. the reason of the title. this season was a huge reference from the Book of Joshua in the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible).
Good episode but I feel like there were still many things that weren't tied up so hopefully Ahsoka provides some answers when that series comes in August and just excited for what's to come in the future 🔥
Hey Alyska, Don't be sad but hopefully they will be back for next season so just stay smiling and stay happy beautiful Alyska and have a beautiful week, Thank You. ❤😇🐶❤

glad that the conspiracy theories about the armorer and axe woves turned out to be nothing burgers. i mean why would she smith armor for grogu if she was working for gideon? and then there was the idea that grogu would get shot in the chest. total goose egg there too.
The finale was great. The last 2 episodes should have been one long episode. The rest of the season was…. Okay. But those last 2 episodes are reminders of why I love Star Wars.
I don't understand, this whole season with so many Mandalorians was fantastic. SO many Mandos which is what everyone LOVED about episode 3 of the first season. So odd. Do people really just want more of Din and Grogu walking alone in the desert like a lot of the first 2 seasons? I thought because of Boba Fett people hated so much Tatooine desert now.
The darksaber represented and even encouraged infighting between Mandalorians for over 1000 years.

2:12 Grogu was using bacta spray to heal any potential injuries. Remember in season 1 that IG-11 also used bacta spray on Din when he removed his helmet after taking a beating.
Ding Grogu seems so at peace. I think his wounds are healed.
So innocent and so brave and patient. Imagine everyone was this kind, it's all we need.
I personally enjoyed the season finale and that Mando is officially a dad now LOL. Btw I love your Bad Batch reactions and I would love to see you finish the rest of season 2 when you have time!
Now that The Mandalorian is over, hopefully we can get back to The Bad Batch reactions
I like the way the armorer was saying his parents are far away if they’re even still alive. Kinda baiting Din into adopting him.
I couldn’t help but imagine Moff Gideon walking out of the explosion with half his armor suit torn off like Gus Fring
6:40 Bo-Katan charging into battle with the Dark Saber is such an iconic shot!
I’m just so glad someone got a good ending in Star Wars for once. No tragic death to add emotion.

Ok but they failed to make it clear that the 'Spies' in question were the 12 scouts sent to the surface.

Agreed! Thought episodes 3 would lead to something bigger later on in the season, especially because it was the longest episode of the entire season!
FAST squad in the building
Its just the ending of Season 3...Season 4 is still there!
Some takeaways from episode 3 despite it being mostly on Coruscant:
We now know that there is a "rehabilitation" plan for captured Imperials.
We know the fate of the clone specialist doctor, which, by the way, I was wondering about after the end of S2. Man was quite dangerous in his own way if he can cross species splice Force powers into cloned humans as we were shown.

If you notice, the Moff Gideon they fought had no mustache, in all other appearances he had a mustache so some people think that was a clone they fought
I could easily see a Gideon clone - just as arrogant and power hungry as the original - getting rid of his "father" for being weak... 🤨
Was such a good finale!!! Gonna watch it again with patreon reaction later!!! Keep up the amazing work!!
also Mando just called a droid 'buddy'
The man who used to hate the droids 😄

you didn't spot Dave Filoni there with the cowboy hat xD
Rick Famuyiwa was there as well.

As for the Darksaber being destroyed so easily, its not the thick plates of armour and is likely quite thin to cover all the complex electronics, crystal, and powersource, so despite being made of Beskar its still more fragile.
