      I'm glad you enjoy the videos! As for your question, the practice of moving to the right lane after making a left turn is generally applicable in situations where you need to position yourself for your intended route. For new drivers it is still recommended that they switch to the right lane so that they don't block the fast lane

      In my country, there's nothing wrong with this.
      The definition of "yielding" here means a road user should not obstruct other road user who has the right of way.
      This means that if your maneuver does not force the other road user to change his path or speed, you have yielded the right of way.

      Wait until the pedestrian passes your lane/side of the road, and then complete your turn. There's nothing wrong with completing a left turn on a red light.
      In fact, in rush hours, when there's little to no gaps, that's the only way you can turn left.

    In my country you can turn left however you want, as long as you don't force the oncoming traffic and/or pedestrians to change path or speed as a result of your maneuver.
    This means that if the intersecting road is wide enough, and a pedestrian has just started crossing towards you, you can turn left in front of him.

    3:51 I don’t know if it’s just where I live, but it seems like most drivers making left turns at an unprotected green light are ignorant/unaware that the cars in front of them making a right turn have the right of way. They always cut off or honk at cars making right turns at a green light even when they have the right of way.

      In New Zealand, as strange as it may sound, this used to be the law, until recently.
      Right turning vehicles had the right of way over left turners. (NZ drives on the left).

    • @TorontoDrivers
      @TorontoDrivers  8 месяцев назад

      Good question! In this case, you can tilt you head a little to get a better view. If you still don't see it, you can wait until the lights turn yellow/red to make a safe turn. Always remember, safety first!

    • @NewBuildmini
      @NewBuildmini 3 месяца назад

      @@TorontoDrivers Just because your light turned yellow/red, doesn't necessarily mean the oncoming side's light also turned yellow/red.
      There are intersections where the oncoming side has a longer green light, because of an advanced green, for instance.
      You should make sure that the oncoming traffic is slowing or has come to a stop before turning left.

      @@himaririku5289 It pretty much is. Except for when you're making a left turn on an advanced green light (essentially a protected left turn). In this case the oncoming traffic has a red light, and as such they must yield to you when turning right.

    you have missed a left turn when two vehicles reach the stop sign and one of them has to turn left. who has the right of way?

  • @amylathrop8329
    @amylathrop8329 4 месяца назад

    IDK what state this is, but in some, if you are waiting to turn left on a green light, if you do NOT pull into the intersection to wait, that's a fail. The vehicle that is already in the intersection has the right of way, even if their light has turned red and yours turned green. You MUST wait for that vehicle that is already in the intersection to complete their turn, even if it takes them longer to do so than you think it should.

    • @NewBuildmini
      @NewBuildmini 3 месяца назад

      In some states (like Louisiana), it's technically illegal to be in the intersection when the light is red.
      So this means you have to wait at the stop line until there's a gap in the traffic. This is impossible when the traffic volumes are heavy, in rush hours for instance.

      I'm really sorry to hear that you had a tough experience and failed your driving test. Remember, it's common to feel nervous, especially during a test, but don't be too hard on yourself. Mistakes happen, and they can be learning opportunities. Take some time to practice, gain more confidence, and when you're ready, give it another try. You've got this! 😊🚗💪
