KNOW all about STOP SIGNS + RIGHT OF WAY - 1 || Right of way rules | New Drivers Tips on stop signs

- In this video I show you situations related to the right of way at stop signs. A lot of new drivers get confused at intersections with stops signs. This video is intended to help everyone understand how make it smooth at such intersections.
A stop sign is used to control traffic and is usually found at road intersections. Stop signs instruct drivers about the right of way and ensure proper notice is taken to avoid accidents. Standard stop signs are red octagons with “STOP” printed in white letters. When you see one at any corner or intersection, know that you must stop and proceed only if the way ahead is clear, and after obeying any rules regarding right of way.

It does
Lol
Please explain if there are 3 sides one way stop signs like in Etobicoke drive test centre.thanks
@@OiranDaki☝️🤓
I came across this video while in a panic reading the book. I have trouble understanding some written information without a visual representation. This has helped me so much, and I feel everyone should watch this! Very informative, thank you!
Same lol
I encounter multiple 4-way stops on my daily commute. There are so many people that should watch this video. Many people have no idea what to do when at a 4-way stop. Lots of times I just flash my lights to yield right of way as to make things run smoother. I wish they would focus more on this on driving tests. Great video!!!
This helped me not overthink about how intimidating it can be to drive at an intersection, thank you!
I'm delighted to hear that the information was helpful and eased your concerns about driving at intersections. If you ever have more questions or need tips on anything else, feel free to ask. Keep up the great work, and happy driving! 🚗👍😄
@@TorontoDrivers I've already gotten my license back in April! Thank you for the support!
getting congratulated even when I get something wrong is such a confidence booster haha
I had awful experiences at 4-way stop signs when I was first learning to drive. One time it was like the 'car that goes straight goes before the car turning left' situation, but also, I thought that the car turning left got to the intersection slightly first. They weren't moving though so I inched into the intersection, and as soon I would do that they would do the exact same. It didn't help that my mom was literally screaming at me the whole time (to go)
I have been letting every cars which go straight to go first and if there no oncoming then only I was making my left turn .
YES! I have had the same thing happen so many times 😂😢
"Your Right!" lol love that positive attitude!
Thank you, Shaw! Much appreciate it. :)
In your 4 arrive simultaneously, after you creeped out and proceeded, *the next 2 cars proceeded incorrectly in reverse order* (3 o'clock, 12 o'clock, then 9 o'clock)
They were NOT to go because they had been *to Your right,* they each should have yielded to the car on *their own right.*
The proper order of priority was 9, 12, and finally 3.
Exactly correct... I made the same comment. No matter how many cars there are, after the first car, the next car will be to the LEFT of the first car.
Thank you, I thought I forgot my lefts and rights watching that part
Exactlyy, what is this guy talking about made me confused 🤣🤣
What he “says” is correct. What is shown is completely wrong and backwards.
thanks guys....i thought that was wrong too and came to check if i misunderstood.
I’m a tourist visiting from the UK as you know we drive on the opposite site. Adding the complication of several pedestrians crossing at different crossings to this video at the same time on busy intersections would be really helpful. I think this would add yet another layer of complexity to video.
Ahhhhh, Pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way. Easy Peasy
Bro honestly this made me understand so much better. Thanks for helping everyone out!
You are very welcome!
It is very useful. I just came here from another country, the left turn and the stop sign can be confusing sometimes. And I find out that many drivers never obey the speed limit and come to a complete stop at a stop sign.
Ty so much i asked around everyone had different answers. This is what i needed.
This was SO helpful!!! Thank u so much for explaining all of these different possibilities, and basically all our questions :)
Hi, Tithi! It brings me great joy to know that I was able to answer most of your questions.
Thank you for such detailed explanation!
Very well explained! I was curious about 4 cars all stopping at the same time
I just found your channel and I love it!!! I watched your video of the difference between a 2-way and a 4-way stop sign and gosh I feel bamboozled lol. I’m 17 and buying my first car a year from now and I’m so excited!! Thank you 💗

Hi. Did my test today, and the night before I studied this video. It came in so handy especially because there was an intersection right after the instructor and I drove out of the DMV. Thank you for this video!!!!
Congratulations on your test! 🚗 So happy to hear the video helped you at this crucial time. Drive safely and enjoy the open road!😊
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Iceland.
thank you so much, the visuals help so muchhh
I am really a beginner in driving, this video is very helpful to me. Thanks a lot.
Great Explanations! Thank you so much. I have been driving 42yrs, and this morning at a 2 way stop, crossing a 50 mph main road, I stopped after a car across from me. They were signaling a left turn. Hours of searching after making it home safe, led to finding that 2 way stops are so different from 3 and 4 way stops. It needs to be made very clear to most casual drivers. You did that here. The point can't be driven home enough though. The fact that the other 3 and 4 ways stops are FIFO, causes so many drivers you meet in the 2 way situation, to follow that rule. So beware, even though the difference of the 2 way shows best in bad weather, being right isn't always the best way to stay alive. Making a left turn in right hand driving countries, normally changes a drivers right of way, say north-south to east- west. Progression through an intersection does not.
Thank you man this is really helpful! 👍
wow thank u so much for explaining this so simple the pictures w/ arrows rlly helped me so much to understand! :)

Just passed my exam today! Thank you this video really helped me😭👏🏽
Congratulations, Kenia! And thank you!
Ha! I assume they didn't ask about what happens when there are 4, because if you followed the advice from the video, then you would get it wrong... because the video is wrong.
@@TorontoDrivers Curious if you are going to correct your mistake about how to proceed with 4 cars... seems a bit responsible to give everyone incorrect advice about that. Maybe put it in your show notes section?
Brilliant video, you rock

@@TorontoDrivers : I and many more like me would similar videos on parking-parallel, reverse, between 2 cars in a parking lot.
Great presentation 😎
Here in Texas, if we both come to a stop at the same time, you either wait for them to signal you to go first, or you signal them to go first. If i'm not in a hurry, I wave to let them go first.
exactly!!! texan here 2!!! ill gladly give others row or ill point 4 sum1 2 go 1st!!! im always amazed that it worx!!!! also--coming up 2 da stop--ill go slower 2 not b in da '4 stopd @ same time' scenario!!

Thank you so much Sir...
Awesome...thanks
Welcome 😊
IMPORTANT: When you determine you have the ROW, you need to then make sure people actually stop. If you have the ROW it's easy to assume you can pull out and that other's will stop. Many people have been killed or seriously injured because they the ROW and assume others are going to stop. If you have the ROW but don't want to pull out (because a vehicle might run a stop sign), and you notice another driver is staring at you (because they are waiting for you) - just waive the ROW to him and that will relieve the pressure to pull out and you can wait a few seconds more to make sure you don't pull out and die. ROW DOES NOT MEAN IT'S SAFE TO PULL OUT.
Very well said, sir!
The problem with waving to other cars, it makes it harder for others to see what's going on and can cause more confusion
Exactly ! No truer words...........too many people yell "I had they right of way" after they hit another vehicle or get hit by another vehicle !
@@harmlessxs Right you are sir. I would tell my student drivers don't wave others thru if you can't totally guaranty the safety of the other person.
🦋🌸💕A great way of learning! This really does help me! 🦋🌸🌸💕

These rules date back decades and yet the majority won't put it in practice ! This entire video is correct from start to finish. I'm a one time driver education and instructor and have always enjoyed the road for well over 55 years. Well done !
Excellent
Thank you so much
Thank you! :)
Great video. Please when all the 4 cars came at the same time, how do i know the car that is on the right hand side?
I learnt reverse and parallel parking by watching your video. It made it so simple.🙏😊
1:10 was the best tip if you are struck in 4 way traffic.thanks👍
2:15 the car which stops first at white line gets to go first, Pro tip. Thank You
Thank you, Aarti! Much appreciate your comment. 🙂🙏🙏
Actually, his advice at 1:10 was wrong, with respect to who goes after him. The car to his left should have been next. When there are 3 cars at a stop, the car without any car to his right is the first to go. After he has done through, the only car without a car to his right is the one that started on his left.
@@TorontoDrivers Thank you for your delicate video. But I feel confused about the traffic sequence after your car at 1:10. In fact, I agree with Apoc Morrow's comment because his idea is aligned with yours that the person on the right hand side goes first. Do you think so?
Weird because it’s wrong
@@cnelsonlv99 Don't care much for the 'yield the right' rule do you ? I often deal with you everyday in traffic. Not pleasant every time.
Thank you

Hi if possible can you please make a video explaining chapter 5 in the NY driver’s manual?
Excellent depiction! Thank you so much. I have just only one confusion. While all the cars stop at the same time, anyone who will start moving first will be the first right car. And the car of its left should be the next to go as that one yielded the right of way to its right-side car. Am I correct? Please help me to understand.
I struggle so hard understand this with someone tell me but now I understand
That's great! All the best, Shania!
Excellent 👌
