Recently relocated to USA. I would say this is the best video on left turn. You have done a great job. Thanks for helping so many people out there. May Almighty Allah reward you.
Thanks for this! I’ve been doing lessons all week and have my last lesson tomorrow, followed by my test shortly after. Left turns at green lights make me so anxious! Same with hill parking. Knowing when to start turning the wheel left is what I struggle with.
This video popped up in that darn side bar after watching a totally unrelated video. But…I have watched a few videos about navigating roundabouts/traffic circles lately so it must be the algorithm. This video was EXCELLENT! I’ve been driving for almost 60 years and follow all of your pointers. It’s great for new drivers or even those drivers from smaller towns who may not encounter these traffic signals and markings on the roadway. Thank you for this!
Glad to hear that you passed your driving test, and I hope that you are becoming less nervous of driving alone. Thanks a lot for watching, and I apologize for taking so long to reply!
This is a good video on making left turns, I get nervous sometimes when making unprotected left turns on green light, especially when there's a lot of traffic, just 3 years ago I was in an accident making a left turn on green light, I was waiting at the intersection and the light turned green, at first I thought it was safe to go so I went, there was a median in the middle of the intersection, it was that kind of intersection, while I was making the turn I ended up hitting a car that was going in the opposite direction, at first I didn't see the car, it happened so fast, by that time it was too late, of course I was at fault and I got a traffic violation, lesson learned I guess, so now I try to be careful when making a left turn especially at a green light instead of a green arrow, watching your video helps.
This instruction video is really good and covered a couple of mistakes I see almost every driver make. One is keeping tires pointed straight ahead while waiting . The second is pulling our straight and making a semi-circle. Too many people make a straight line when turning left. This actually puts the vehicle on the wrong side of the road and forces the driver to make a correction to avoid hitting the center divider, putting their car in the adjacent lane. Annoying and dangerous. You explained how to make the turn with simple instruction. Awesome job.
Thank you sir, in the heat of the moment with stressed parents they can’t convey this same sort of message. You just made me 100% more confident when it comes to green arrows vs green light
thanks for making your video so detailed and thorough. i'm a newer driver, having just got my license a year ago and my first car only two weeks ago, but a few days ago i was in an accident because i made a left turn and failed to gauged the speed of an oncoming car. thankfully we were both fine, but it was a really frightening experience that traumatized me quite a bit. i'm incredibly nervous around left hand turns now, but your video has helped me feel like i understand them a bit better, so thank you so much.
Omg, this is just what I was looking for. I failed by G2 test in Ontario, Canada, due to not yielding to a pedestrian on right turn at intersection. I really wanted refresher on left turn rules, before taking my next test. Thank you!
Great video, I have watched only first 2 minutes, couldn't resist myself coming to appreciate you. You showed & marked everything to make things easier to get it. Thanks a lot for visual representation.
I've been driving for more of my life than I haven't at this point, but this video was excellent. I wish I had had you (and youtube) as a resource when I started. Great work and thanks!
Hi Stan, I am watching your video over an over for my G2 road test purposes. I passed today with one major error actually but because my Examiner was super duper nice guy, he said I let it go now and he told me my other minor errors as well especially for right and left turn he said am too slow and break to much, so I thought dam I failed again for my 3 rd times 🤦🏻♀️, he asked me go to the centre to get marked sheets, I still didn’t realize that I actually passed, told the lady in the counter that I need to get my marked sheet because am failed, she looks at me like what do you said ? You are passed she said 😳. I feel like stupid that time. Anyway am super happy after 3 attempts I can passed with the Examiner help of course, I will never forget that moment and really grateful for that super duper examiner. 👍
Congratulations to you and a pat on the back to your examiner too! Sounds like he was very fair and helpful, and I’m glad you had someone like that. Made for a nice surprise at the end!
Thank you so so so much! You explained everything crystal clear! I never understood how making a left turn on an intersection worked, I'd just follow my dad's orders. There was a time I entered the intersection and didn't know who to look out for so I tried making a left although there was a car going straight ahead already. Dad yelled to brake so I did and that scared me away from driving for a while. Problem is, he never really explained what my error was. But damn, this video is gonna push me directly to a driving test already! The intersection was the only thing holding me back. (And going reverse then parking, but whatever) Again, thank you!!
I'll be traveling to the US pretty soon on a business trip, and this is definitely great information for foreigners! Thank you so much for doing this great video!
Thanks for the video. Here in Canada, GTA to be specific, left turns get a little tense. The person behind starts to honk pressurizing you to make the left turn, there is a never ending barrage of on coming traffic which deprives you of a safe distance to make the turn, and when you do find a window pedestrians continue use the crossing, all of which leaves you stuck in the island. Every now and then, you'll find a driver stuck in the island ending up blocking the cross traffic.
I hear you...left turns can be a very difficult thing to do, especially in situations like you described. Takes a lot of patience sometimes to wait for the right moment to make your turn while trying to ignore impatient drivers around you. Just never go until you feel it's safe, and not when the person behind you thinks you should go.
Thankyou for this video I have had my license for about 4 months and could not figure out left hand turns on intersections because some are guaranteed sade and some you have to yield but now I know and don't have to avoid them thankyou
Thank you so much for this. I always get nervous at left turns bc I don't have good judgment yet. Scared the heck out of my driving instructor today lol. But hey that's why I'm here. I want to be as safe as possible!
I usually never give thanks on a youtube video but seriously! thanks a TON cuz this video came up right when I needed it! I just saw a video of a person failing their driver’s test because they didn’t yield to the other driver across from them when the sign said to yield on green. Just thinking about the fact that a scenario like that could also happen to me when I’m taking my driver’s test, is mostly the number one thing that I fear the most. I was thinking of searching up videos on how to deal with that, but ironically, my recommended page did it for me so now I’m here 😂
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a comment and watch the video! I really appreciate that, and I don't know how many times RUclips has served up just the right video for me too when I needed it.
Thank you so much! I love when you highlight parts of the road, like the lanes and lane markings, it really helps me understand and see what youre talking about. And putting the camera outside your car is so helpful! Actually seeing what it looks like to make the turn, real traffic lights, and real cars is so helpful. Thank you!

I thought this video would be good to share with others I know who haven't started driving, but this turned out to be great for me as well. this video reinforced some great stuff, and taught me some new stuff too :) thank you very much for such a well put-together video
A similar experience happened to me this morning. I am a very new, but cautious driver. I was making a left turn and misjudged the distance of the car approaching and almost had a head on collision with the cop car. Luckily, no one was hurt.i didn't get a ticket or anything but the cop pulled me over and was so mad. I felt so bad. Thanks for this video. ❤
This is the best and most detailed video I’ve seen about this, thank you sooo much for this, I failed my driving test because I didn’t switch to the right lane after completing my turn! how I wish I have seen this video before! 😅
This such a good video! I am pretty decent at driving, but not only have I not done it much for many months, but now for the first time, I am driving completely on my own. So even though I know I am not bad at it, this was such a good reminder to calm my anxiety and refresh my brain, Thanks!
This is good, thank you so much for the comphrehensive guide on left turns. I just failed my road test for a dangerous left turn and this will help me next time
This is the best video telling the difference between green arrow and green circle light, can you make a video on turning right and going straight with cars turning towards their right.
Right turn signals (which are usually rare) would likely be like a left turn one, except that for right turn you are even allowed to make the turn on red signal not just yield signal.
This summed it up perfectly. I was afraid of me doing the same thing that caused your accident. Thank you so much for this video. I’ll make sure to send it to my friends and family that are beginning to drive shortly.
Very professional video! Just wanted to add that in most european countries the traffic lights are placed only on the near side of the intersection, which means that you aren't able to see the light changing to yellow/amber after you enter the intersection, while waiting for oncoming traffic. Having the lights on the far side would definitely make things easier imo
Thank you soooo much sir, I’m having trouble on intersection to turn left and also the rules of traffic light, thank you sooooo much, soon taking my road test!
AS A PROFESSIONAL POLICE DRIVING INSTRUCTORS, EXCELLENT VIDEO. ONLY THING I WOULD ADD IS SHOULDER CEHCKING LEFT FOR PEDESTRIANS OR CYCLISTS AFTER STOPPING IN THE INTERSECTION WAITING FOR A BREAK IN ONCOMIN TRAFFIC. NOT ALL INTERESECTIONS ARE WIDE 4-6 LANE CROSS STREEETS SOME ARE ONLY 2 LANES, SO SHOULDER CHELC LEFT IS MORE CRITICAL. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING MORE OF YOUR VIDEOS. GREAT EDITING AS WELL. WILL USE THESE IN MY CLass
Thank you so much for your video, you can not find this information in the book, Im a beginner and now I have a clear picture of all the combinations of left turns and possible situations. Thank you for your work!

I am 29 just recently began driving, though I have had a license for 8 years (lot of hurdles in my life that were very difficult to overcome, I worked hard to be able to even get my license.) So I know the laws for the most part, but no one has ever taught me how to drive. I am trying to do everything I can to learn to be a better driver. I hate turning into traffic, and parking. I know how to park, but just in case I will park farther away, not in between vehicles, just in case I am the worst driver in the world. I'm confident, but caution is better than confidence with a 2 ton bullet. Everything I do feels like it is dictated by other, very rude, drivers. When they come behind me, I have to turn asap, even when I'm not comfortable, neither is it the safest. I almost caused an accident, as I almost hit another car turning into the lane next to the one I was leaving, in order to turn into their original lane. That was embarrassing and extremely dangerous. I pray that I get patient drivers who don't want to rush me into oncoming traffic. I'm trying to be better here, and I am grateful for these videos!
Sounds like you’ve worked hard and gone through a lot to get your license! I understand what you’re saying, and I wish there were more patient drivers out there. It seems like a lot of people are rushing to get where they’re going and drive very aggressively and selfishly, which makes it more dangerous for everyone. You do have to drive defensively because of this, and always watch out for the other driver. If they put you in an unsafe situation, do all you can to avoid an accident, which it sounds like is what you try to do. The more you drive and learn about driving, the better you’ll be able to handle different situations safely. It’s a good sign to me that you’re watching videos to become a better driver, and I think you’re on your way to becoming a great one! Thanks for watching, and take care.

Recently relocated to USA. I would say this is the best video on left turn. You have done a great job. Thanks for helping so many people out there. May Almighty Allah reward you.
This is the most comprehensive left turn video I have seen. Thanks for the video. Appreciate it 🙏
You're welcome, and thanks a lot for watching it!
This video is actually usefully, and honestly is gonna help prevent mistakes that new leaners could make
Thank you so much. I failed my test today and the instructor wasn’t very clear on why I did. This helped answer that! Thank you so much
You’re very welcome! Sorry to hear they didn’t pass you, but I bet it will be a breeze for you next time…best of luck!
Thanks for this! I’ve been doing lessons all week and have my last lesson tomorrow, followed by my test shortly after. Left turns at green lights make me so anxious! Same with hill parking. Knowing when to start turning the wheel left is what I struggle with.
I passed!!!!
🥳🥳
This video popped up in that darn side bar after watching a totally unrelated video. But…I have watched a few videos about navigating roundabouts/traffic circles lately so it must be the algorithm. This video was EXCELLENT! I’ve been driving for almost 60 years and follow all of your pointers. It’s great for new drivers or even those drivers from smaller towns who may not encounter these traffic signals and markings on the roadway. Thank you for this!
This was very helpful, I just passed my driving test and am nervous of driving alone but this video gave me a better understanding..🙂
Thanks for the comment and for watching. I always strive to explain things correctly.
Thank you sir, in the heat of the moment with stressed parents they can’t convey this same sort of message. You just made me 100% more confident when it comes to green arrows vs green light
I'm glad to hear it helped, and good luck with your driving...I'm sure you'll be great.
I feel you hahahaha
thanks for making your video so detailed and thorough. i'm a newer driver, having just got my license a year ago and my first car only two weeks ago, but a few days ago i was in an accident because i made a left turn and failed to gauged the speed of an oncoming car. thankfully we were both fine, but it was a really frightening experience that traumatized me quite a bit. i'm incredibly nervous around left hand turns now, but your video has helped me feel like i understand them a bit better, so thank you so much.
Sorry that happened to you! Accidents are very traumatic emotionally, and I hope you weren’t hurt physically.
I`m a super slowly-learning beginner driver! This video might save me from a future accident! Really appreciate it!
Omg, this is just what I was looking for. I failed by G2 test in Ontario, Canada, due to not yielding to a pedestrian on right turn at intersection. I really wanted refresher on left turn rules, before taking my next test. Thank you!
You’re welcome, and I bet you’re going to ace your test!! Best of luck!
Sorry I meant not yielding on a *left turn, at a major intersection. Great refresher on the rules for left turn.
Great video, I have watched only first 2 minutes, couldn't resist myself coming to appreciate you. You showed & marked everything to make things easier to get it. Thanks a lot for visual representation.
Thanks!!! I probably NEED to watch all these intersection videos. I have driving anxiety and the cities near me are BIG BAD TRAFFIC CITIES!!
I got my license last week but I still feel like I struggle with left turns. This helped break it down for me so I know the exact rules! Thank you
You're welcome, and I'm glad to hear it helped!
(And going reverse then parking, but whatever)
Again, thank you!!
Thanks for clarifying. I’ve had a near miss because of this same mistake.
Thankyou for this video I have had my license for about 4 months and could not figure out left hand turns on intersections because some are guaranteed sade and some you have to yield but now I know and don't have to avoid them thankyou
Thank you for the comment and glad to hear the video helped you!
Thank you so much for this. I always get nervous at left turns bc I don't have good judgment yet. Scared the heck out of my driving instructor today lol. But hey that's why I'm here. I want to be as safe as possible!
I understand, and I’m glad your goal is to become a safer driver…that tells me you’re gonna be a great driver!
Taking my road test next Monday, I’m pretty nervous but overall ready 🗣️
Hey, best of luck, and I’m guessing you’ll do great! Study and practice pay off. Stay calm and do what you know to do!
Excellent video. It not only covers left turns, and pedestrian safety at interections, but also covers lane changes.
Thank you so much! I love when you highlight parts of the road, like the lanes and lane markings, it really helps me understand and see what youre talking about. And putting the camera outside your car is so helpful! Actually seeing what it looks like to make the turn, real traffic lights, and real cars is so helpful. Thank you!
Failed my drivers test twice and both times they critiqued my left turns. Thank you for this video
You're welcome! Keep practicing and you'll be showing them how to do perfect turns in no time.
Already been driving a bit with my permit, but still learned some great stuff. I thought this video would be good to share with others I know who haven't started driving, but this turned out to be great for me as well. this video reinforced some great stuff, and taught me some new stuff too :) thank you very much for such a well put-together video
Thanks for taking the time to leave the comment, and I’m especially glad to hear it helped you as well!
Thank you for such a detailed video, those pauses with marks on your vid are super helpful to understand better.
I’m glad to hear it helped you, and thank you for watching. Take care out there on the road!
This is the best and most detailed video I’ve seen about this, thank you sooo much for this, I failed my driving test because I didn’t switch to the right lane after completing my turn! how I wish I have seen this video before! 😅
This was really thorough. Judging whether you have enough time to make a left turn with oncoming traffic is so tricky. Thanks!
If you dont know when to go when there’s traffic light just wait for arrow That’s what I do
Thank you for these videos. It is helpful to hear your thought process as you drive these routes.
Thank you for watching…hope it had something useful in it for you.
The most complete video on left turns, it covered all possible situations, well explained, thank you!
Glad it was helpful, and thank you very much for taking the time to watch it!
Thank you so much. I just got my first car and I was so confused about land changing in intersections. You helped me a big time!
This such a good video! I am pretty decent at driving, but not only have I not done it much for many months, but now for the first time, I am driving completely on my own. So even though I know I am not bad at it, this was such a good reminder to calm my anxiety and refresh my brain, Thanks!
I passed my Class 5 today. Your videos contributed a lot. Keep up the great work!!!
Awesome! I'm very glad to hear you passed...congratulations! Your study and practice paid off.
This is good, thank you so much for the comphrehensive guide on left turns. I just failed my road test for a dangerous left turn and this will help me next time
Thanks a lot for watching, and I’m glad to hear it helped. I know you’ll pass that test next time!
Best video on left turns at an intersection. I was not sure about the Yellow arrow. Thanks for explaining it!
This is the best video telling the difference between green arrow and green circle light, can you make a video on turning right and going straight with cars turning towards their right.
Right turn signals (which are usually rare) would likely be like a left turn one, except that for right turn you are even allowed to make the turn on red signal not just yield signal.
Juat got my license here in Boston, this video was awesome, very clear instructions.
I'm so glad I found your channel. I have my road exam next week and your videos are informative and so helpful!
Good luck on your road exam! And thank you very much for taking the time to watch the videos.
Today i just failed my driving test b'coz of this left hand turn at intersection. This video really help me for tomorrow re test! Thank you..
One of the best if not the best driving teach skills channel I have ever watched, keep doing it the same way.
Best of luck on your road test…you’ll do great, I’m sure!
Thanks for this video!! Help me to overcome fears and confusions in making left turns!!
Happy to help!
I appreciate the words of encouragement and the great advice…thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for your video, you can not find this information in the book, Im a beginner and now I have a clear picture of all the combinations of left turns and possible situations. Thank you for your work!
I hope it helped, and thank you for watching and taking the time to leave this comment! Take care and drive safe.
Thank you so much. I have been so worried about left turns on busy intersections
Happy to help!
This is amazing thank you! Driving in America soon for the first time and this is really helpful!
Even if it’s red light you can still get hit with cross traffic if someone t-bone you from behind Pray this want ever happens to anyone 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Probably the best and comprehensive video on Left turns !
Thank you sooo much
You’re welcome, and thank you for taking time to watch the video!

Yes I did
I'm an attention to details type of guy
Your videos are the clearest commentary I've ever seen.
Thank you, and I appreciate your taking the time to watch the video.
Such an amazing video showing different scenarios. I have such anxiety this makes me feel much better. Thank you!
thank you this helped so much, i have horrible anxiety about turning at intersections and this video is gonna help calm my nerves
Glad to hear it helped you. Intersections can be anxiety-inducing, but practice and knowing what to do in certain situations can make them a lot easier to deal with. You got this!
Hey, thanks a ton Stan. Great informative video. Shall soon be visiting the states as a tourist. I am an Indian familiar with driving right-hand drive cars. Your video helps familiarize me with left-hand drive cars to a large extent. Thank you so much
Glad to hear it helped, and it’s great that you’ll be coming to visit here soon! Enjoy your vacation!
Omg your video is great. I'm coming over from Ireland for a holiday in 5weeks and have rented a car for 4days at the start. I was looking some information regarding light systems and anything extra. Your video is amazing and has definitely made me understand alot more. Thank you
I am 29 just recently began driving, though I have had a license for 8 years (lot of hurdles in my life that were very difficult to overcome, I worked hard to be able to even get my license.) So I know the laws for the most part, but no one has ever taught me how to drive.
Wow, regoinze that Niemergs from across the other side of the country. Ate there with my grandpa a lot back in the day.
Haha! That place has been there forever seems like. People come from all around to eat there.
This is very informative for begginer driver like me. Those mirror pictures u crop on which mirrors we should look was helpful.
Glad it was helpful, and thank you very much for watching!
Best video for safe left turns. Thank you very much! Love from Turkiye 🌸
I turned left today on a red arrow light. I feel horrible as I mistakes it with turning right on red, thank you for this. Although I feel bad today I could have caused accident and sad now
thank you so much i had been stressing over the thought of my left hand turns in intersections for some time now you settled my nerves
Very glad to hear it helped, and thank you for watching!
Thank you for this. I get nervous on this one intersection of ours since it doesnt have a protected left turn signal and that intersection is reaaaaly busy
Wish all intersections had a protected left turn. I think there'd be less accidents.
You shared excellent tips for beginners as well as old drivers. Thank you..
No doubt, one of the greatest driving videos ever
I'm from Mauritania 🇲🇷
Thank you so much for this video
You're welcome, and I hope it helped you in some way!
Thank you, barely passed the test but kept your tips in mind.
loved the video. Extremely practical and easy to follow.
Thank you very much for watching it and for leaving the kind comment!
Thank you sooooo much for making these videos. I use them in my classes because they are clear and concise.
You're very welcome, and I'm beyond honored that you can find a use for them in your classes...so cool!
very helpful. I just had a accident 2 days ago. I was the driver going to the left side of the intersection that time
Sorry to hear about the accident, but hopefully you're alright! Glad to hear this helped, and thank you for taking the time to watch.
I’ve been needing a video like this, no one has been able to answer these simple questions that are super important! Thank you!!!! ✨
You’re very welcome, and thanks for watching!
