Thank you so much for this video. Passed my G2 test two days ago after 2 failed attempt. It was the longest 15 minutes of my life because I wanted G2 so badly for myself and family. After the long road trip of 15 minutes and the instructor asked me to forward park...I just remembered every step of this video. It was imprinted in my brain in 4D...lol. The result was, Congratulations, you have fulfilled all conditions and requirements by the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario. Thank you so much.

I was asked to forward park on the same side I was driving. I am glad I saw this video before test. I moved away and did a perfect forward park. I passed. Thanks:)

@@caylas174shoulder also, shoulder parallel to the center of the parking space next to the one you are parking. Move the car to the other side and park it the same method.

I'm here watching this video because I'm from the Bronx, where I didn't have to park like this for my driving test. We had to parallel park. I got my license with flying colors. I find parallel parking very simple. ( Lots of people find parallel parking most difficult ) But I was never taught to park like this. Now I live in Jersey and I really need to learn how to do this asap. Thank you sooo much for the video.

@@TorontoDrivers For G/G2 test if the examiner asks to park on right side, are you allowed to go out on to opposite side before turning right as described in your video? Or will they fail you because of that?

Thank you for this video. I am watching it now because just yesterday in a tight spot in a busy parking I tried to park exactly like this on my right side and i scratched a car quite badly.. Didn't notice my back side was coming waaay too close :( The damage is mostly on my car and the other car had a scratch concentrated in one corner, unlike mine - all over my side door. So yeah.. Right after I came home, I bought 4 cones to go to an empty parking area and learn this with the help of your tips. So thanks for that!

Thank you! I have a tight parking spot at my apartment between a concrete beam and another car so it takes me longer than I'd like to admit to park, and I'm usually still slightly crooked. Luckily we have the wider space lines so I'm never poking out of my spot, but it's still embarrassing not being able to park in my spot evenly.

This is such a nightmare for me at the moment. We have tiny parkingspaces were i live and our family car is a long stationcar so it's quite a challenge to park it as a novice driver. Thank you for the nice and simple explanation! I'm looking forward to trying this method :D

Thanks! I just drove my first car back and parked it. Parking it was the most difficult part. It is a wide spot but there are two columns on the left at the front and back of the spot. I tried to avoid the columns and ended up all crooked. It took me probably 5 mins or more and I had to get off the car twice to look around to center it. I had to move it forward and backward, not sure if I should be steering right or left while moving forward and backward, and each time worried about the columns. Now I realized I approached too close to the left, and didn’t know how to position myself on approach. This should resolve my problem. Thank you so much!

This is exactly how my driving instructor taught me today, I wanted to make sure I was remembering her instructions correctly, so I would be ready for our next lesson. This video was extremely concise and full of great tips. A lot of other RUclips videos about how to drive, don't line up their voiceovers with what the car is actually doing and/or they just give way too much information instead of using a fluid pace. Thank-you for just stucking with the straight forward steps, this was perfect!

My test is tomorrow, I’ve been watching your videos as well as Ontario drivers videos, and both of you are so informative. I went to a lesson today and my instructor said I’ve improved tremendously and gained more confidence, and it’s all because of you guys! Before today I didn’t know if I was ready for my test, but now I feel ready! Just nervous a bit. Thank you

@@sirsurgenor unfortunately I failed. In my opinion I should’ve passed, I don’t think I did anything wrong. The examiner said I failed to yield to a vehicle and a pedestrian. Maybe it was my nerves, but I was lucky enough to get another road test for April 29th and I know I’ll pass this time :) I’m more confident and the feedback he gave me, even if I don’t remember doing it, will help me to scan intersections better next time.

I hadn't driven in a while until a couple months ago where I realized I couldn't do forward parking. I tried so hard to adjust the car but it never worked. I never had thought forward parking can be tricky...

If the instructor asks me to forward park in the lane close to me (assume to be on right side) , and following your method I want to get some space by moving away first(towards left ), do I have to give indicator left indicator and once I have the space then give the right indicator to park ? I hope my question is clear.

How about forward parking while turning right? Many videos show driving into the oncoming lane to gain more space, but is that allowed for the G2 test?

Hi, what reference point one can use to determine whether or not the car is straight?
When I barley started driving I didn’t know how to park in the Walmart spots cause it’s so crowded and shit 😂

@@TorontoDrivers i parked very well. only thing is on the drivers side the gap was big on the passenger side it was closer to the line. today it was better than yesterday more centred. this parking space is for bigger cars. i am parking there to be safe. but this trick helps.

Have been driving for the past 20 years , now taking test in US fir the first time and I’m nervous, mainly for the pull in parking. Not sure if the examiner would allow me to steer a little to the left and then park on the right
If asked to forward park on the same side, to make more space, when i move on the opposite side do i need to signal that direction , before signalling to the direction of parking

If the examiner wants me to park on the side I am driving so I have to move to another side to get easy access. in that case when I move to the other side which side I will give the signal to first? let's say, I will park on the left side, so first I will signal on left to know other cars where I am parking, then I will signal to the right for more access, and then finally to the left. is this the right way or should I go direct to the right signal and then park on the left?

1:41 That's happened to me on my road test, but I drove in the middle of the road since the opposite direction is clear, then the examiner asked me to park to the right, then I quickly moved a little bit to the left and drove into the spot perfectly.
