@@ConduiteFacile Hello , My name's Dontae and I live in Buffalo , New York I have issues with slamming cuz I get so nervous , my driving instructor always points that out to me. Can you do a video about avoid Abrupt stopping.
@@ConduiteFacilePlease edit your video. You are wrong about right away for left turns at a 2-way stop. Left turns must always yield to oncoming traffic, regardless of who arrived first. First to arrive rule only applies at 4-way stops.
I hate when I do left turns or going straight at a 2 way stop, cars still going at full speed, so it's not safe to turn, and then a car behind you gets impatient and starts to honk their horn to rush you. It's not helping the situation and can make you often more nervous.
Dude this happened to me today when I took my drivers license test. The exact same way but when it got clear and I was about to turn left, a vehicle coming from the right came fast as hell and the instructor failed me cause I didnt see and yield they had to tell me to stop. But what can I do when this guy is speeding and sees me. Now my parents are pissed and blame me for something not in my control
Thank you for amazing video When at stop sign, check for pedestrians before going on BOTH sides (the side you are at and the side you are going to cross) pedestrians get priority in stop signs You must stop before the line, then check for pedestrians (left right on the side you are about to cross and left right on the side you are going to) and then inch up to check the road that no perpendicular cars 6:20 priorities at stop sign: - whoever arrived first has priority (this applies if you want to go straight and incoming car wants to take a left, so your paths will cross, or when you want to take a left and they want to continue straight or take a left) - if both arrive same time, if you want to turn left then give the incoming car priority - if both arrive at the same time, and you want to turn right, and they want to turn left then you have priority (right over left)
It amazes me how many people don’t understand that a two-way stop is the same as a four-way stop and not the same as a traffic light and it’s whoever gets there. First when one is turning and one is going straight.
Thanks for clearing things up. For some reason I had this conception that if one vehicle is turning left, and one is turning right. No matter who stopped first, the vehicle on the right has priority. I guess I thought this because its easier for the vehicle on the right to make a turn, whilst the vehicle making the left has to watch 2 lanes of traffic instead of one.

6:17 pretty sure 90% of the drivers I come across need to watch this part of the video. I can't tell you how many times I've been in a situation like this. I'm waiting at a stop sign for traffic to clear. I'm about to make my left turn and the person going straight thinks they can over-take my priority even though I've been there long before them.
It's interesting because this is the only driving source online that I found that mentions that first come first serve rules apply to two way stops too. This may be correct here in Quebec (where this channel is based) as they don't really teach us anything in particular, so I assume its meant to be taken as a four way stop. However, other driving channels/websites based elsewhere say that straight-through traffic has right of way over left turning traffic, even if the left turning traffic is already waiting, similar to a left turn on a green light. I don't really know what's right anymore but I think, at least where I live, first come first serve is the way to go.

For a video idea, I suggest that you show more of the intersections that you arrive at to give us practise in looking for pedestrians. You could record your driving on a daily basis, and show us a few intersections at the end of each video without fancy editing and no commentary, or you could show these intersections in separate video, also without fancy editing and no commentary. The whole idea is to give us more practise, and to give you more content to attract more viewers to generate ad revenue. If you add commentary and fancy editing, then that's good for me. I'm just concerned that it will take up an unfair amount of your time. [Edit: by the way, I never saw any pedestrians or cyclists in your video until you circled them all :( ]
@@ConduiteFacile I'd like to see more practise in looking for pedestrians. Sadly, I tend to mostly look for cars and cyclists. You could show the intersections and sidewalks, and encourage us to pause or rewind. After we think that we found them all, we continue watching, and you reveal where they are.
Yes, agree. I also would like to watch videos with driving, without any comments. It will help us to practice. But I find all your videos very helpful! Thank you for great information! =)
1:10 I was at a 2 way stop where the through street appeared to have those white stop lines, so I mistook it for a 4 way. The street did not have stop signs after all.
There has been an increase in traffic on the country road where I live and at one point it crosses a dangerous high speed intersection. The biggest problem that I have noticed is rules of priority, many people are such ignorant or entitled drivers and will cut you off to make sure they can cross the intersection, effectively causing more danger. I wish they would install a traffic light!
This is one of the most helpful driving tip videos I ever watched! I'm watching all your videos:) The parts where you swish your camera from right to left while driving to show the roads at the sides tend to be quite dizzying, though. It'd be great if you can move the camera more gently and less abruptly for future videos!
amazing reasons to always stop at the line then advance check and then go. Im new to learning and all of my experienced driver friends say u only have to do that for the test but i disagree! Especially what u said about giving drivers the impression that ur not stopping that happened to me during my lesson and i got nervous like are they going? So thank u as always for the amazing info. I will always follow what u say!
That was the thing that scared me the most when I started driving. I'd be practicing with my sister by my side, and every time someone would do that I'd brake suddenly and start freaking out. My sister was always telling me: "It's ok, they'll stop". That wasn't the impression I was getting though. I still get that impression sometimes to this day, and it's a good thing. Some people are so bad at driving that you have to always be on the defense. Drive for yourself but also for others, as they say.
3:55 I honestly have a problem with this idea that we always need to be mindful of drivers in the back. There is no reason to override one's good judgment because there are drivers in the back that might hit you. There is no reason a driver should 1. blindly follow me in the intersection 2. tailgate me as much as to hit me if I were to slow down again. What if I'd slowed down because I saw a fallen person in front of me that the driver behind couldn't see? I'd rather do what is safe for me, especially as a *learner* driver, rather than alway be concerned with impatient a*****
I mostly agree with you. That's why I don't necessarily agree with the rule that we should check our mirrors each 10 seconds or whatever. However there are times that you should be aware of what's behind, and not only when reversing. I did once avoid a collision because I was watching a guy behind that was about to ram into me.
Some drivers behind you are learners too . Some are drunk driving. Some are losing concentration/focus and some suddenly got failed brakes. It's better to be safe than sorry.
This may be a dumb question but what happens if two opposite vehicles approach a 2 way stop sign and they’re both turning left, who goes first???? They can go at the same time if their paths aren’t crossing right?
If the stop sign is before the line where do we stop ? Or what if theres a stop sign but no line ? Your videos are extremely helpful , Thank you so much.
If the stop sign is before or after the line, you stop at the line. If there's no line, you stop a bit before the corridor where the pedestrians cross the street. That's usually where the stop sign's post is.
Maestro sus videos son geniales supongo que si los vehiculos quieren dar una vuelta a mano izquierda la preferencia la tiene el que llegue primero a sue respetivos “stops” o me equivoco? Gracias!
In the Philippines we don't always follow the two way stop system. But if you enter former US military bases you pretty much have to since their system is widely used inside those bases (Clark Air Force Base and Subic Bay Naval Station) ;p
SECTION 56-5-2320. Vehicle turning left. The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection or into an alley, private road or driveway shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard.
What are the rules for left turn intersection in Canada? Driving through intersections | Safe and Responsible Driving ... At any intersection where you want to turn left or right, you must yield the right-of-way. Bro istg every sing time I’m on a two way stop and turning left while the person on the other side is going straight when I arrived there first, they always just go as if they have the right of way🤦♂️. I always almost crash because of them.
Me too. I was in the same situation as you. Canadian don't understand turning left go first when you come first unless we both come at the same time. We are not use the same rule as US.
Does he have any videos that discuss what to do at intersections where there is NOT a stop sign? I’m always afraid someone is going to walk into the street so I move very slowly there. I also turn slowly there in case someone coming towards me is speeding.
I think you’re wrong. Have a read: I’ll admit, I didn’t reach this conclusion on my own. I was recently at a meeting with local law enforcement officers, so I asked them who had the right-of-way (or more correctly, who needed to yield the right-of-way). They unanimously stated that the car turning left needed to yield to the car going straight, no matter who got to the intersection first. I countered that if both cars are stopped at the intersection waiting for traffic to clear, the car going straight: a) isn’t in the intersection yet, and b) doesn’t constitute a hazard, and that one of those two situations had to be present in order for the turning car to have to yield. Experienced collision investigators that they are, they responded that if both drivers decided not to yield to the other, the turning car would hit the car going straight, and the fact that a collision resulted would be pretty good evidence that the car going straight presented a hazard. They made a good point. - Doug Dahl, Bellingham Herald
4 way stops are in no way the same as a 2 way. Telling who stopped first is not possible when both drivers views are blocked by cross flow. Even 4 way stops can have this condition when traffic across from each other can not see stop timing of the other driver. A stop first expectation when obscured by cross flow is impossible. @@ConduiteFacile
Hi. Thanks for your videos, it really helps a lot! I have transferred here in Montreal Quebec also. Just question about rules on priorities, is it written, do you have reference for it? Because others telling me about rules priorities, they said always who comes to stop first. So im quite confused, i am gonna take exam also here in montreal.
I started driving in the early seventies when there were only 2way stops. whoever stops first or second DOES NOT MATTER at all in a 2way. when 4way stops came along I had to understand how it works, but every video says something different. I will research later and just be careful for now. BUT .... BUT .... TWO way stop sign rules never changed, as you just falsely told people.
After the pedestrian stop, as you slowly roll out & stop for vehicles...how far down should I see for it to be safe to proceed (bear in mind the vehicles are traveling up to 30mph)?
6:30 happened to me early today I had priority stopped first and everything I was going straight and the cop just comes needing to make a left turn, the road cleared and I cautiously went forward watching his vehicle for movement and the cop cuts me off. (I swear they need to make these videos required to watch for new license and renewal. Not as long but quick and to the point.)
He meant that for 4-way stops you don't need to see as far down the perpendicular roads because everyone has to stop, and that's why it's more important to slowly move forward on a 2-way stop incase of oncoming traffic you couldn't see who you have to give the right of way to.
6:25, I thought the rules were a bit different at two ways then 4 ways. I was told that vehicles going straight or right have the right of way over left turning vehicles?
In almost all cases, you can turn at the same time, since your paths won't cross. Unless the intersection is very narrow, but that's very rare. If that's the case, you'll have to communicate. There's no priority for anyone in that case, since you're both in the same situation. I have a few videos on intersections coming this fall where I'll discuss that, among other things. Stay tuned!

[Edit: by the way, I never saw any pedestrians or cyclists in your video until you circled them all :( ]
I actually love fancy editing. And I do have a video planned on Intersections specifically. What would you like to see in particular?
The street did not have stop signs after all.
impossible
Great explanation.I love your videos
I think you're a great driver.
I needed this particular lesson, thank you
very deep inside technical video, thank you.
In high speed intersections there should be a traffic light yes.
@@ConduiteFacile very true. Thank you!
Thank you for the tutorial videos
Some are even trying purposely commit suicide
Bro...keep up the good work
So straight forward, Thank you!
Thank you so much! This video is a gem.
Thank you so much for the amazing tips with examples. Very helpful ❤
Good explanation. Thanks for posting!
Thank you for the video it really helped me
I have my exam on the nine so I need your explanation very much
Good luck!
The last one helped thank you
This may be a dumb question but what happens if two opposite vehicles approach a 2 way stop sign and they’re both turning left, who goes first???? They can go at the same time if their paths aren’t crossing right?
If the stop sign is before the line where do we stop ? Or what if theres a stop sign but no line ? Your videos are extremely helpful , Thank you so much.
If the stop sign is before or after the line, you stop at the line. If there's no line, you stop a bit before the corridor where the pedestrians cross the street. That's usually where the stop sign's post is.
@@ConduiteFacile thank you for taking the time to answer me. We appreciate your content
I love 2 way Stop intersection
If you are turning left, you must wait for approaching traffic to pass or turn and for pedestrians in or approaching your path to cross.Nov 28, 2016...Left Last!
Great video! Thank you
Great video
Thanks awesome videos
I think you’re wrong. Have a read:
I’ll admit, I didn’t reach this conclusion on my own.

It might be like that where you drive, not here. Here, whoever stops first has priority.
Good one 👍
Do you have to make a complete stop twice or just slow down the second time?
3:09
Hi, do you have any videos on driving in/turning into/exiting plazas? Thanks!
You mean shopping centers, or something like that?
@@ConduiteFacile that would be great! I find them awkward to go into and exit
Today i was taking lessons and i was confuse about this now i know
Thank you!!
I started driving in the early seventies when there were only 2way stops.
whoever stops first or second DOES NOT MATTER at all in a 2way.
when 4way stops came along I had to understand how it works,
but every video says something different.
I will research later and just be careful for now.
BUT ....
BUT ....
TWO way stop sign rules never changed, as you just falsely told people.
Thank you 🚐 💟
Thank You ...great videos, Presentations, explanations...
Btw...if you could speak a 1/3 slower it would be perfect...,
Thanks answerd my question
My mom often stops after the stop line at a 2 way stop and a 4 way stop.
Regardless of line of sight, running a stop sign or light is just that.
Thank you.
After the pedestrian stop, as you slowly roll out & stop for vehicles...how far down should I see for it to be safe to proceed (bear in mind the vehicles are traveling up to 30mph)?
As far as you can. Basically, until the end of the perpendicular street.
1:44 Can we do this for 4 way stops as well or does it only apply to 2 ways stops? Thank you so much.
He meant that for 4-way stops you don't need to see as far down the perpendicular roads because everyone has to stop, and that's why it's more important to slowly move forward on a 2-way stop incase of oncoming traffic you couldn't see who you have to give the right of way to.
@@astrosxx okay thank you!!
@@astrosxx she need to do that also in 4 way stop , sometimes careless driver can run a stop sign
6:25, I thought the rules were a bit different at two ways then 4 ways. I was told that vehicles going straight or right have the right of way over left turning vehicles?
Thank you for the video!
5:13 but you could just floor it right there and pass before the pedestrian does!
JK, awesome videos.
4:44 basically let all the pedestrians cross completely, before proceeding ahead right?
What do you do if both drivers come to a stop at the same time... And they both want to make a *left* turn?
I have a question I’m a beginner at driving, who will go first at a two direction street with only one stop sign?
what if both the vehicles are stopped at the same time and stop and want to turn to their respective left? whats the scenario?
In almost all cases, you can turn at the same time, since your paths won't cross. Unless the intersection is very narrow, but that's very rare. If that's the case, you'll have to communicate. There's no priority for anyone in that case, since you're both in the same situation. I have a few videos on intersections coming this fall where I'll discuss that, among other things. Stay tuned!
