Guys hear it from me, I pretty much solely learned how to drive from his videos but on the road practice with someone who can drive is very important! One of THE biggest tips that tremendously helped me was him saying a lot of driving mistakes is due to where the student is looking, you’re supposed to look everywhere but mainly where you WANT your car to go and your hands will naturally follow your eyes. When I started doing that, I improved so much on my driving. Look into the turn, not at the other cars or at the lines because that is where your car is going to drift to. Also I paid for driving lessons twice and those really did not help me because my instructors just let me do what I want and it’s better to practice what you’re bad at than what you already know but my driving school made me go over everything which I personally felt like was a waste of my time. I went out on the road twice with my mom to practice the things I was actually having trouble with (turns and parking) and I passed my drivers test on the first try! Thank you to this channel and also the guy who starts his videos with “hey everyyboodyyyy!” was also helpful.
Yeah, and the instructors also aren’t great at explaining why or how you’re doing something wrong, just that it’s wrong. But I still pay for driving lessons cuz my parents don’t take me out to practice. They only barely started because I’m 24 and just failed my first driving test and my mom saw how upset I was afterwards 😢

Beautiful description on how to perform the turn. Too many times I see people initiate the turn too soon and come close to hitting vehicles in the right lane of the street being turned into or drifting across multiple lanes of the entered street. They don’t realize how much easier the turn is if you go deeper into the intersection and then make a squarer turn.

My town is riddled with "Turn right..." I think you get my point. The teacher of mine keeps telling me to turn right at the nearest exit, even though there aren't any. With your vid's though i've kept he/she informed! BTW i passed my 13th momentum out of 16 because of you! Thanks alot!

This is the turn I run into the most critical issues. Had a lesson today, instructor was urging me over the crosswalk lines to wait for a safe gap. But 2 Cars ran the yellow light and I couldn't move before the light turned red and then I was stuck on the cross walk till the next light. Which I was told was a automatic fail if I had been on the test... like jees.
you probably Can still turn on red if you’re in the middle of the crosswalk. Left turns that are unprotected often have to finish turning into red anywsy

Keep your wheels straight while waiting to turn left. If someone rear ends you with your front wheels already turned it will push you into oncoming traffic. This is specifically mentioned in the California DMV manual.

I lived in Denver for a few years and it literally drove me absolutely crazy when drivers would not nudge into the intersection while making a left turn at a light. In Phoenix, AZ everyone does that, but for whatever reason everyone in Colorado would always just stay behind the red line.
Great video. One thought- while in the intersection and waiting to turn left, wait with your wheels straight. If your wheels are turned to the left you'll be thrown into oncoming traffic if you're rear-ended.
If you are watching this because you have a driving test, just keep in mind left turns are really hard for some people, y'know with the whole "yield to oncoming traffic" thing. There are some full grown adults that need to watch this video. If you're not good at left turns, just wait until it's safe to go and look in the direction you intend to follow. Keep your eyes on the inside of the corner after the apex and go. Don't EVER slow down or stop in the middle of this process. This is how accidents happen. PLEASE learn left turns, I don't want to total another car because of someone else's negligence
